My sister and I took our mother here for lunch, being Mother's Day we wouldn't have got in without booking, and when I saw how busy it was I expeted long delays at the very least. Couldn't have be more wrong, the staff were fantastic, all working none stop ensuring every one enjoyed their visit. One lady even went to get a cushion for my mother to make her seat more comfortable, amazing service.
If you do visit, don't leave without trying a dessert, even if you end up taking some home, they are huge!
Highly recommended!! I will certainly revisit.

A great place to eat. The food is always hot. The carvery is fantastic. If you have children, they have a great family area. And if you're a group of adults without any children, it's a great place to go if you don't like being disturbed by them. So it works well either way. The staff are lovely too. It's always a pleasure to eat there.

The food was really good and we were served quite quickly. The staff were helpful but it was so hot in the restaurant that it become really uncomfortable. I had to step outside (while I had my food in front of me) just to cool down. When asked about it members of staff didn't seem interested. I did ask for the main door to be propped open to cool it down and a member of staff did do it briefly but then another removed it.

Our first ever visit, the restaurant was very busy, but that did not affect our visit. The food was first class, great portion sizes and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be visiting again.
A big thumbs up to the lovely young staff member looking after our area of the restaurant, table 53 on 5th April. He kept all the tables clean, was so polite and friendly, he is a real asset to the restaurant. Sadly we didn't get his name.

Absolutely love coming here. The food and service is always amazing. Has something for everyone. Always our go to restaurant affordable and value for money. Highly recommended. Serve by Joanna today who was helpful and polite as were the rest of the staff xx

Chicken parmy was amazing, freshly cooked and a decent size unlike other pub/restaurants who serve microwave meals. Great blue light discounts - I'll recommend this place to all my fellow firefighters! All round fantastic day out.
Prices were great, £6.80 for the large meal and £4 for the huge desert served in a takeaway box as you are guaranteed not to finish it in one sitting.

Our visits have always been amazing would definitely recommend to anyone who was thinking of going!! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful and the food can’t be compared to anywhere else it’s incredible! we were served by Beckie at the bar and Dan the chef they were so friendly and helped us with everything! Will always come back time and time again!

Today on a busy Sunday we arrived without prior booking , we were seated after a quick 20 minute wait , service was efficient and staff were accomodating and friendly.
It was a clean enjoyable environment with a positive vibe. Staff were on the ball with clearing tables keeping standards at a high.
Food was delicious, we all of course chose the famous carvery which did not disappoint
For pudding we requested a desire of banana and custard (which many places do not have on the menu ) they were happy to cater this and not for a costly price.
Thankyou for a lovely Sunday cedar tree.

The carvery here is amazing, can’t fault it and the service was exceptional. Specifically, we were served by a lovely girl called Lily May who made our experience at the Cedar Tree Farm an extremely positive one. She was very polite and a genuinely nice person who made sure we were happy at all times :) so thank you!
L.
Had a lovely Carvery - greeted professionally. We all had a Carvery. Served by Dan who was very friendly! Good size portion. Would definitely come here again! Great value for money. Thank you!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff at The Cedar Tree. So helpful and thoughtful, making a family meal with 2 young children and a baby a really pleasant experience. The food was lovely and Dan, the Carvery Chef was exceptional - a real credit to your restaurant. We look forward to returning again and again ………….. Thank you 🙂

So many choices on the menu, hard to choose as they all sound amazing. Went for a carvery, bloody fantastic! And had to take a few cakes home, couldn’t leave them, they looked divine! 😍 Chloe suggested the new raspberry surprise cake and it indeed was! Absolutely gorgeous, can’t wait to return!!
B. N.
Love coming here! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble when we’re served by Beckie, and Dan the chef always makes us laugh. Will always come back time and time again!
S.
Had a great day out here with the kids. Rebecca on the bar was brilliant with helping the kids choose which food they wanted and the carvery from Dan was brilliant for the adults. Absolutely brilliant food and the service is definitely 5*, will recommend to all my family.

Always go to the Cedar Tree when having a quiet girls night out for meal and drink, I’ve also been with family on birthdays as well! The last couple of times we have had a young girl called Lily who is very attentive and lovely. She always makes sure we are looked after and makes our time out a nice one.

Had a lovely day at the cedar tree with my family.
The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly,
especially Lily who served us today! She was very
lovely, extremely attentive and made sure we were
all happy.

Beautiful carvery. Chef very friendly and Ellie and Ella are just amazing. I had 2 kiddies and they just took care of everything for me. Well worth a visit
S. J.
Absolutely love Cedar Tree Farm. Fantastic value for money, the portions are huge and omg have you seen the size of the cakes!! Wow! Staff are so accommodating and nothing is too much to ask! My favourite place to go for food!
A. P.
Went today on Father's day food was good. However hardly any room between tables. I struggled with space around me, so did my 88yr old Dad. I couldn't even get out to go to toilet without whole table behind me getting up. Cram them in was obv the theme today.
G. S.
Very busy place but brilliant for families. Nice cooked dinner selection, very filling. The staff is quick and patient. We were a big group with kids but nothing was too much for Steph. Recommended.
C.
Came here for my mothers birthday, its a really nice atmosphere. Food is absolutely amazing. Was served by Steph C and Chloe who were really polite and helpful will definitely be coming here again!! 😄
J. M.
The breakfast was lovely.... But went mother's day and they seemed to rush out the breakfast people.. When breakfast says unlimited... To replace with the lunch.. I didn't get to have a tea.. All cleared away.. But food was lovely.. And the staff... Just maybe go earlier. For the breakfast
M. W.
Absolutely love this place, the food is always amazing especially the carvery! I'm regularly served by one of the chefs Daniel who is always very pleasant. Highly recommend!
H. W.
Visited for the first time today. Very busy on a Sunday which is to be expected and wasn't an issue. Food was a bit meh for me personally. Meat was very thinly sliced, veg was all under done, gravy was thin and kinda tasted like marmite. But me and my partner still ate most it and it was alright 🤷🏻♀️ Staff were all lovely though and clearly rushed off their feet.
My only thing that I think could be useful is where waiting staff take people to get the food. When I was walking back to my table, other customers continued to walk towards me and stand infront of me while walking back to my table. I'd return but most likely on a quieter day.
L. P.
Managed to get a table and food quite quickly for a very busy Sunday. Food was delicious and constant replenishments coming out
b. g.
The Carvery was outstanding and our server Dan was very attentive! Becca was welcoming and very helpful when serving us on the bar. Naomi was exceptionally friendly as well :) Thank you!
B.
We had an enjoyable meal. Busy restaurant but staff were friendly and helpful and carvery was lovely. Our server Lily was friendly, helpful and great with the children.
G. M.
Fab pub, spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable price. So good we coming back for Sunday lunch.
K. K.
Went here for the my Wife’s 42nd recently, what a treat! Bec at the bar was lovely and Dan who was our carvery chef was a delight. Both credits to this wonderful establishment and if I could give them 6 stars I would 😊
C. G.
I come in often and have never had a bad experience! Dan on carvery was very helpful and the food was amazing. Becca gave us excellent service! I will be returning :)
T. O.
The food here was really really nice, the burger i had was alot different to usual places i go, also had a egg in it.
The place is very nice looking and in a decent place.
I really did enjoy myself here with family and friends, there was a small area also for my children to play.
The only issue I had with this place is, we traveled from 27 minutes to eat here as the deal was emailed to us offering 2 children eat for a pound with every adult meal, I have 6 children so this was a great deal for us.
Problem was when we got there they said this email is for England restaurants.
This was not .adele clear atal in the email.
To be fair to then they did offer my son a free meal because we forgot to order it in the confusion of the email.
All in all a great place which would be even greater if they sent the correct promotions to the correct people, maybe they have learnt from this as I spoke to a few customers which was there for the same off.
Thanks for some great food and we will visit again.
C. H.
Brilliant visit for breakfast, food quality Fantastic amazing to receive such hot food from a buffet as we all know it’s not always the case. Staff friendly and efficient, as I was leaving carvery was being set up and it looked stunning!!!
L. W.
It was busy but the staff were lovely and so friendly. Our food was much better than our previous visit. We had not been back for sometime but now we will call again.
K. J.
Visited on Sunday for a carvery, was absolutely delicious! Chloe was very helpful for squeezing us in on such a busy day. Beautiful desserts too!
T. T.
I regularly visit the Cedar Tree due to the quality of food and great service from a friendly and professional staff member called Steph O. My 6 Yr old loves the play area and will spend long periods of time entertaining himself & making friends which allows adults to have a relaxing drink while safely observing them. They also accept blue light card which is an added bonus!
H. A.
Absolutely great experience here with a group of friends. We were served by Dan on carvery and Becca on the bar. Was a great day and the service was outstanding, will definitely return because of the great staff and food.
A. D.
Go there for coffee a few times a week. Also have had meals there. The staff there are so welcoming and friendly. Would recommend.
5 star service every time.
b. b.
lovely place nice staff very clean only giving it a 3* as carvery wasnt brill .
veg was like bullets raw sprouts arent the nicest thing ive had to eat lol gravy looked nice but very thin and just tasted of bisto . i would go again but order off the menu next time
B. C.
I took my older Brownies for evening meal after swimming. The staff were lovely! Food good, reasonably priced. We would go again!
A. F.
Great prices and decent portions. Especially the desserts which are very impressive. Steph O served us and was amazing, thank you! Great service :))
A. R.
Food / price is okay. Meat was cold to be honest and yorkshire pudding were totally tasteless. Steph (I think is her name, French lady at the bar) she was really kind ♥
A. C.
Very busy but this didn't affect the service or friendliness of the staff. Food was lovely. Reasonably priced. We will go again.
J. C.
One word… absolutely fantastic! Cedar Tree Farm, more like Cedar Tree Best Roast Ever! Huge credit to Becky on the bar and Dan the Chef, both were an absolute delight!
A. R.
We've been coming for years we like that I can have carvery while my partner can have a burger and the baby can play in the farm area. Our waitress Debbie was very friendly too!
S. C.
Amazing carvery and food! Can’t miss the monday pub quiz. Peyton was also lovely, helped us with the quiz and gave us cake 😍
O.
Food was good and everything was nice friendly staff only 4 star because we had to go to the bar to order our food and they don't ask if we want drinks before ordering food like any other restaurant would usually do but apart from having to order everything at the bar everything else was pretty good they also have a good size parking area and a little bike hut for your bicycle
K. T.
Had a lovely family meal at cedar tree , great food lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. Steph o was our waitress and was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended
c. m.
Only headed for drinks late afternoon on a Sunday, a lovely women named Becca served us and was very friendly and had amazing customer service. We will definitely be back!
J.
Most of the food we had was fine, 2 of the 5 meals was terrible, microwaved kids pizza looked horrible, and £15 steak was full of gristle and inedible.
Most of the staff were either having a bad day or just generally grumpy.
However my burger was fantastic, and all the food came very quickly.
W. D.
Popped in today for a bite after a swim with the family, seemed a busy place with plenty of happy costumers, had a table drinks and food as smoothly as you could expect from a busy dinner time, carvery smelt fabulous, had some nice food off the menu and some lovely desserts, will definitely be coming back to try the carvery and explore the menu more when we are in the area again.
C. P.
Was down in Cardiff yesterday and was our first ever visit and must say it was amazing food absolutely amazing staff very friendly and polite had the all day breakfast and must say brilliant 5 stars all round definitely be back
L. B.
Highly recommend!! Carvery is a must, always plenty of options, and hot! Staff are all so welcoming- Rebekah was fab! Can’t wait to be back here again!
A. J.
Not bad toxbe fair. Food was very good. Service was slow and had to wait a long time for food but would go again
c. j.
Excellent service on the carvery today thank you Dan a really busy Easter Sunday but you still took time to make sure I had everything I wanted. A great meal
C. B.
Food was lovely, the app was really easy to order from. The table were clean and the staff were pleasant seating me when I hadn’t booked before hand. The only issue was the 2 month out of date fruit shoot that the waiter just looked at me and said ‘yeah’ 👀Praying my daughter isn’t unwell from this!
V. R. &. S. C.
For the price you can’t go wrong, friendly staff and fast service.
The food is good portions and some of the meals have been really good.
Steaks are never great in these types of places so always worth going for anything but.
The mixed grill is good along with the chicken skewers with rice and curry sauce, the burgers are also good and the Sunday roasts are worth a go.
The deserts are huge and on the whole really good especially the giant eclair or chocolate mars cake ... plus you have the bonus of takeout.
Overall would highly recommend and at the price range probably the best in the area.
J. S.
Best place for food if you want a chain pub/restaurant. Food is really really good here. Love the fact they have a full menu along side the carvery menu. Which is good as I don't like roast dinners but the rest of the family do. Staff are fab at this restaurant. Very attentive.
B. J.
Food was good the only thing I can say is the waitress needs to be told how too survive food we were sat at a round table and she would stretch across someone to give food not stand next too the person and for this I will only give a 4 star
S. K.
Will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to eat on a weekend. Excellent service from Rebecca at the bar, super helpful with menu items for a very VERY fussy eater, and then great service also from Dan on Carvery for those of us who weren’t fussy, but very hungry! 😂
s. p.
Food was amazing and the staff were very help from Dan at the carvery and Beckie at the bar both very professional and very willing to help with any queries. Will definitely be returning
A. A.
Clean and open spaces, friendly staff and very reasonably sized portions from either the main menu or carvery. A great choice including deserts and popular draught beers.
A. D.
Lovely pub, nice good, my husband had the treacle toffee pudding and ice cream, omg that was a large piece of pudding. He had to share it with our son 😁😁
g. w.
Staff were friendly, service was good carvery had good selection and was fresh, prices were really good, highly recommend this place, would probably advise booking on sunday
R. J.
A very nice pub that thrives off it's carvery and desert menu. That said, there is a regular menu to be admired by visitors.
A large pub with a small play area for children and ample parking space.
There is outdoor seating and a large amount of indoor seating.
There can be a long wait during certain times of the day so I suggest joking wherever possible however they do allow you to walk in.
The staff were friendly and willing to help spite clearly being rushed off their feet.
The quality of food was above average and the deserts were exceptional however the price does reflect that!
Above all I had a positive experience here and would happily reccomend it to anyone.
S. F.
Great burger, order delivered quickly by friendly staff, first time I've been here really enjoyed my meal, highly recommend👍
M. E.
Food and staff very nice, but this place gets very very busy on a Sunday, plus there isn't enough parking spaces
D. C.
Fantastic atmosphere, food is gorgeous, staff are very friendly, Debbie served us and was very attentive, will definitely be back
m. e.
Carvery was fresh and delicious
Food piping hot.
Staff friendly and welcoming
Reasonable prices
C. T.
Come here so often and couldn’t recommend a better place to eat, especially their Carvery, always fresh and hot! The carvery chef i’d especially like to give a mention to Dan exceptional service everytime!
D. S.
Absolutely beautiful food service is always 5 star Steph and Diane are always so happy and friendly best place to eat in the bay
P. C.
Oh my goodness I had a carvery, out of this world, ate so much decided to take desert home OMG it was huge lasted me 2 days what an end to my birthday weekend, service was excellent staff very friendly and helpful 100% go again
C. M.
Amazing place. The food I really good, as well as the prices. Relaxing atmosphere, ideal for families too. Staff nice and helpful. A Sunday roast to look forward to. Plus, the menus are really nicely designed.
W. R.
loved eating here, the food was excellent and portions were big. I would recommend eating here to everyone, there was one down side and that was the one member of staff constantly asking if everything was okay for us.
the prices here are decent and selection off food is good aswell with very nice screams for the kids.
L. P. x.
Very fast and friendly service from all staff including our waitress Steph also very helpful with food options for my daughter :)
H. G.
Had the all you can eat breakfast for thecfirst time. Good choice of food Water for tea/coffee could have been a bit hotter but all in all very good value.
N. K.
This restaurant is a new fav when family are visiting Cardiff. The food portions are massive and very well-priced, with enough choice to satisfy everyone. The staff are very polite and helpful, with plenty of spacious seating inside. The only thing that does let this place down is the toilets which are very shabby and generally unclean, couldn't even use them the last time I was there they were so dirty.
M. P.
The meals here are of good portions except the child's pizza which is the same as Chicago town small microwave pizza not really value for money and leaves older children hungry. The carvery options are nice and have a couple of different plate sizes. They have a selection of ice cream and big desserts the big dessert are shockingly large all together a nice food and drink venue for all ages and appetites.
W. R.
The carvery was OK; the beef over cooked and dry. Plenty of vegetable options though. Is unlimited top up of vegetables so it doesn't make a difference if you ask for a small or medium plate. Unless you like a lot then go for large plate.
K. B.
Good service and food was excellent and hot when arrived, great service by Steph O. and Peytan aswell :)
A. C.
Always good food as today was . Down there today with family . Four of us finishd and my wife was still eating they came around taking plates from us just four and left my wife eating this is not on .and just as she put cutlery down they took her plate .my family was not happy you don't leave just one eating before you take plates .
K. H.
Forst visit - Great service, busy restaurant. Portion sizes of the deserts were crazy - only managed a quarter of the cheesecake. At least we know for next time to share. Would visit again.
E. J.
Generally a nice place, the covid-19 precautions works well and makes you feel very safe. Good menu choices including a carvery. Indoor and outdoor tables available. You will have to look very hard to complain about the food or service, my only complaint is that the deserts is far to big, there is no need for a serving this big, it's just a waste, but it's a niceish sort of complaint though!
m. T.
Run of mill pub restaurant....very clean, carvery and a mains menu with a good selection of deserts and icecreams...2nd visit today (6-10-2020) covid protection seems to be very good.
T. H.
Bloody Amazing, I came with my wife Dorris to the Turkey and Tinsel event only £9.99 for a three course meal with a singer, we even had a little dance at the end. Chris you run a very good business and your staff do you proud. Will definitely be coming back. Atmosphere, Food and Service all five stars. 🌲🤩🦃🎅
S. P.
Great food last night with the children. All the staff are very attentive and always supplying your needs. I must say Lily was excellent!!
S. N.
Unexpected visit for their all you can eat breakfast. The restaurant was lovely and clean, food was hot, reasonably priced and tasty and the coffee was good. Their cake display looked amazing too! Highly recommend.
F. R.
Food was nice, large selection of desserts which were fresh! Fast service food arrived within 5/10 mins of ordering, would revisit!
D. C.
Has changed since before lockdown. Much calmer atmosphere. Portions are big
J. H.
Lovely venue , friendly staff . All you can eat breakfasts(stack it high) and great selection of roast dinner choices. Thanks for a great service jo.
H. M.
Great selection of food. Excellent service. Very helpful staff and good prices.
B. M.
Been to the Cedar Tree with family for birthdays, and for Christmas meals with friends, we've had some nice meals there and the staff are good and friendly especially a young girl called Lily who's very attentive and friendly, and is always very helpful.
B. P.
Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter. Our waitress Lily-May was brilliant as she was able to please a fussy 6 year old eater.
G. a.
Definitely worth 5 stars. Polite efficient staff. Very clean and well looked after pub. Food excellent. Definitely worth a visit. Recommend the carvery and the breakfasts.
S. D.
Great food to choose from, the mars attack cake is a must have 😍 and the place was clean and tidy including the toilets 🤗
C. S.
Lovely hot food and seems very well managed. Polite and well mannered staff.
S. C.
A good standard of default pub food with portions that will leave few wanting more. The desserts (mostly cake) are an epic size but their cakeaway take home idea allows you to take home a huge slab of cake or an Eclair the size of a baby to stare at with a happy mixture of pride and shame. The staff were helpful and the service fast even though every table was full.
Markdown for the pound gobbling arcade which is the only entertainment for over 5s.
Props for the staff sorting a loud argument with foul language at the bar with great skill and speed.
R. W.
I went to Cedar Tree with my wife today as a walk-in, expecting not to be seated as the car park was rammed and it looked really busy inside. The gentleman at front of house,I think his name was Chris, managed to find us a table, much to our delight, as the service and food was 11/10.
Will definitely be returning.
J. B.
Veg and turkey nice could not put my knife through the beef very tough
C. H.
If I was reviewing purely on food quality, this would have only been 3 star. The carvery was just ok - the ham was too salty for my taste, I didn't even have the mash as it looked awful (my boyfriend did have some and agreed that it wasn't nice) and the roast potatoes were burnt and not crispy.
I went for the carrot cake for dessert - the cakes all look amazing and they are massive portions. I would describe this as a standard, slightly dry carrot cake flavoured cake - there were no pieces of grated carrot in it.
However, the service was lovely and really friendly so I've upped it to 4 stars based on this. If you fancy a carvery and a huge dessert then this would be a good choice for you.
D. H.
We had a wonderful family meal with great home cooked food and tbh the carvery looked amazing but opted for some of the standard menu items which did not disappoint!!!
The children's menu was varied with choices of mains sides and desserts.
Then came the adult desserts....these can only be described as MASSIVE! The choice is amazing and I recommend the galaxy caramel cheesecake (see pic!) I couldn't finish it was so big but they have take away boxes. Would be a good idea to share a slice of cake or be brave and attempt a whole slice!?
Lovely service and not enough they can do for you!
R. S.
Great carvery. Hot desserts are a bit too big for the average person. Great for sharing between two
N. P.
Fantastic cake!! Peyton was amazing!!
A. D.
We felt like home. Awesome place if you want a proper meal with kids. Carvery was superb.
R. J.
came on the off chance for lunch was greeted by amazing staff member Joanne who made it an amazing experience. would recommend this place to anyone passing by
C. B.
Friendly staff, quick service. Lovely food, very good value for money.
K. &. l.
Had a carvery on Saturday 5th March and it was possibly the nicest meal I have ever had in my life, wasn't much meat but the veg was amazing.
R. D.
Great place for good food and carvery
Dan on carvery and becka behind the bar are always brilliant and polite and friendly when ever we visit
C. K.

R. W.
Amazing Christmas dinner and meal out with the family, fast friendly service . All the staff were really nice checking we had everything we needed, thank you to Chris and Vicky we will be back soon 🎄😃
C. P.
I went meal out and the food was delicious and the waitress Lily was amazing she knew what she was doing was very happy and great to talk to.
D. G.
This bar/restaurant is situated near Cardiff bay retail park. The Cedar tree has loads of parking and is usually very busy. Inside is big and has a bar and children's play area as well as the restaurant There is a carvery every day as well as there menu. They also do large desserts to take away. I had a burger and San Miguel which were both fine as was the service.
J. L.
We had some amazing food and the service was great. Especially from Steph O and Jo.
Highly recommended!!
S. C. (.
The Cedar Tree is a nice place to eat. Clean and modern building, friendly staff, very nice food. There are four different sizes of carvery as well as lots of other choice. The desserts are massive. It's in a good location with Asda just across the road.
A.
The Sunday lunch was lovely and had brilliant service from all staff, especially our server bec
c. r.
Great food at the cedar tree, Dan the chef is great and really friendly and Becky on the bar was fantastic :) will definitely be back thank you
C. S.
Had the most fantastic meal yesterday at the Cedar Tree! I saw they had an event going on with a singer, she was fabulous! The staff were amazing, the food was to die for!!
D. B.
Ginormous Maltese cheesecake. So large I had to take most of it home. All for just a fiver. Very friendly service
A. T.
First visit here. Lovely meal . Warm friendly environment. Definitely call back again
S. D.
As much as I love this place and have never had a problem with the food, I just can't get past how expensive the desserts are. A slice of cake is more expensive than a child's meal, it's a bit extortionate!! Overall it's a great place for family gatherings, children love the play area and ther is plenty of outdoor seating. Ample parking and friendly staff, its always clean.
D. C.
Great place to take the whole family! Something for everyone! Bec and Chloe were brilliant and Dan on carvery!
R. L.
Vicky is fantastic! The service received from her each and every time we visit is second to none. Thank you so much!
S. G.
Typical pub offering carvery. Plenty of parking and food was very nice with pleasant atmosphere and service. Lovely desert.
B. M.
Fish & Chips was absolutely delicious! Lovely staff, only let down was the very chewy salt & pepper squid!
A. P.
Great food. Amazing staff. Served by Steph O and Chloe. Worth a visit.
H. P.
A quick service, served by Chloe and Steph C, who were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely.
E. G.
Went for a carvery with my partner today. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious and portions were great value for money. We did have a small issue of a family making our dining experience a little uncomfortable (child flicking food at us) so we asked if we could move to a new table. The Deputy/Assistant Manager was so accommodating and understanding during a busy lunch service and moved us straight away. A huge thank you to her and great example of amazing customer service. I hope this feedback can be passed on to her. Staff serving our tables were also quick and friendly throughout.
L. M.
Fabulous service from Tara she had so much knowledge of the menu. Brilliant service 5 star 🌟
j. t.
Lovely variety on menu. Carvery was nice a hot. Would love some peas with it.
Take away cake is worth the price as a slice is massive. Kids meals came with free ice cream.
S. A.
Me and my friend came down and was served by the lovely corey and was served our drinks by tara who was very professional and can't fault the service
Y. P.
Great choice on the menu, and lovely place to come with the family. I scoffed a whole cake to myself yum yum yum
S. O.
By far the best place to go for value, choice and taste. Food is stunning and plenty and you'll be amazed by the cakes and the portion sizes .. go try it
k. j.
No problem getting a table, good service from friendly staff, lovely carvery too.

L. M.
A very decent Sunday carvery, plenty of choice and a very good portion. And the giant Yorkshire pudding is a great add on. Won't need to eat for a week following this
C. G.
Buffet breakfast is outstanding value. Quality is really good too. Service good. Some good things for younger kids to do. Wish I had room for some cake though
D. K.
This is a common type of place in that you can find pubs of it's kind all over the country. That said, the food was tasty and hot, and the staff kind and attentive. The real mind blowing factor though, was the size of the dessert. IT WAS HUGE. Oh deary me, I nearly blew a fuse. I thought about just having a scoop of ice cream, but my wife wasn't having dessert because she's dieting, so she convinced me to have something proper. This was deciding IMproper! It was gargantuan. And I ended up with 3 scoops of ice cream too. By all means go to this place, but if you plan to eat dessert, leave some room.
S. a.
Very nice food pleasant staff will definitely go back
C. M.
Great food piping hot quick service brilliant value for money
S. G.
Really enjoyed the carvery, plenty of selection of vegetables. The deserts (cakes) were huge and very tasty.
K. B.
Lovely carvery, tends to get busy on a Sunday the later you go👊 the deserts are lovely mind, if you got room left after a meal 🙂👍
C. H.
Haven't been for a while but visited today and was nice to see so many people out enjoying themselves with everything going on at the moment. We had the Carvery and the choice of vegetables was incredible, I just didn't have enough room on the plate.
Christmas songs playing in the background and I must have made a mistake when booking as our table was dressed up with table cloth and crackers. The Gents on the door greeted us with a smile not sure if they are related as possibly brothers.
Service at the bar was quick and efficient and we were looked after from start to finish. Great job and keep up the good work. You must have a great General Manager.
A. D.
Fabulous service from Chloe and the rest of the team at Cedar Tree! Amazing food and the atmosphere was great! Merry Christmas to all the staff, had the best time and will be revisiting!
J. R.
A little bit of a mixed experience. Firstly the menu is huge with a carvery as well. Attentive service. Food and drink delivered quickly. The only downside was the seating. Firstly it's a big place. With lots of room, however at the time of this review, we are a week out of Covid measures and people are still feeling a bit anxious about returning to normal. They sat me and my wife in s nice corner away from others, we ordered and started eating only to have another family be seated right next to us barely elbows apart. Obviously we could of said something but we were in the middle of eating. Anyway nice big place with ample parking, big menu, good service, just watch where you are seated....
D. A.
Great food and service everytime we have visited.
T. W.
Lovely place good prices but gave it a 4 star as it's a bit of a hot and miss on weather the mashed potatoes will have lumps or not and I'm quite fussy
A. M.
Good food god service especially from Steph O
S. B.
Had a Christmas dinner here today. Fantastic as always. Staff were great and food excellent. Well done
B. H.
Good food, good surroundings, friendly and efficient staff. All in all, well worth the money.
T. T.
Great food at reasonable prices and wonderful attentive staff, especially from Steph!!
p.
Had a lovely carvery and an amazing desert for a family meal. Good service and would go back again.
S. M.
Me and my wife came yesterday for the Turkey and Tinsel! Such good value for money, had a 3 course delicious meal and a singer all for a tenner! Can’t go wrong!
N. T.
Cracking carvery today, amazing cakes 🤩🤩
Service was fast and friendly . Definitely a return visit from us
L. C.
We had an amazing time, the hospitality was fantastic. The carvery was great value for money, will be going back soon
P. T.
This pub has a very extensive menu, it's quite large where children are seated in a separate area, it's a bit way out of our zone but worth a visit if you have space left the desserts are amazing 👏
A. C.
Sunday carvery best we have had anywhere, portions really good.Desserts amazing.
K. H.
Lovely food.. Great service from ethan.. Nice family day out
G. J.
It's a big place in difficult times. We choose the carvery on a busy Saturday afternoon. Because of restrictions, food is dished out behind screens in a covid safe way. However this does make it hard to convey portion size. My plate was brimming with food that tasted and looked as if it had been cooked more for profit than a family dinner deserves. Sorry but I found it bland
P. P.
My husband and I had lunch here and were v.happy to get a table straightaway as it was a Saturday.I ordered via the app and our drinks and food arrived quickly. I had the smothered chicken and hubby had the chip shop supper and both meals were really tasty. The staff were all polite and helpful and the restaurant was very clean and all covid rules were in place. Best food weve had out in a long time thanks.
s. d.
very nice place quality food and at a reasonable price. nice atmosphere and friendly staff
N. P.
Love coming here for food it's well priced for the quality of food and has a good family atmosphere
R. O.
Went last night for a family meal and the service was fantastic, the staff were incredibly helpful and the manger was very professional and went above and beyond *thank you George.
Would highly recommend and definitely go back. I would give more than 5 stars especially with the pressure they are under with the new ways of dining due to covid
Thanks again for having us feel so welcome and valued as customers x
D. P.
Lovely family meal made all the better by Lily and her lovely smile and friendly behaviour
J. B.
Nice all day breakfast and a great quiz night on Mondays.
S. C.
Had a great experience at Cedar Tree Farm yesterday afternoon. The atmosphere was really welcoming and service was great. Will definitely return soon.
J. G.
Food was lovely, staff were really nice.
D. B.
Excellent experience and lovely food! Joanna made our experience perfect and made sure everything was okay :) 5 Stars recommended highly to anyone who is thinking to visit!
g. r.
Lovely meal not long wait for food lovely staff
C.
Nice location to eat if you don't mind it being busy especially on the weekends, plenty of seating so no worries about that and a very large selection of food and dessert to choose from
B. R.
Cracking food and very attentive staff- especially Lily who made us feel very welcome as she spotted us at the door waiting!
J. B.
Great as usual! Back for the first time in 2021 and the team didn't disappoint. Brilliant food that arrived in a timely manner, coupled with fantastic customer service from Steph O (Team Leader). We were alittle apprehensive about going out for food - but we felt safe and well looked after. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning!
J. H.
Superb food staff very professional made to feel comfortable would recommend to anyone for a family meal or a nice pint
S. D.
Fabulous place, great staff, lovely food. In, ordered, had our food and out in no time at all.
M.
Absolutely love this place, the food is amazing - best Yorkshire pudding ever
C. B.
Had a burger and chips, burger was ok but chips were very hard could not eat them, don't think I will ever go back there, staff were friendly 👍
A. A.
First visit. Great food and great service. We didn't wait long for our meal. Tables always cleaned. Thanks guys.
R. D.
Great food and service
Guys are always friendly and helpful
Dan and Becka are great assets to your company always friendly helpful and polite
M.
Best restaurant we've eaten in in ages, had the best meal ever, and for the portions the prices are great, I had the fish and chip supper and I couldn't finish it, and I have a big appetite!
Unfortunately came here the other day and I've had to take two stars off, the veg is like concrete on the carvery, so I informed the waitress and she just kinda said yeah sorry its because we steam the veg.....ok well why don't u boil it??
D. O.
Excellent value for money, very welcoming staff, great family dining area.
C. A.
Food was ok had salmon snd it was a much smaller portion compared to what it used to be.
K. B.
Nice staff. Large portions of average food for half decent money.
R. E.
Had a really good night food was fab and lily was excellent will be back
E. M.
Dan the carvery chef, vicky the manager, becca on the bar all a delight to the company the business and the pub
C. L.
Great food, quick service and decent price for a family of 5.
S. W.
Excellent... second time here.. a must when I visit the bay... fab staff huge cakes lol
J. G.
Went there tonight, extremely busy, in fact too busy , it didn’t look as if they could cope. At the till they gave us a list of what they DIDN’T have. The carvery was running out. When our food came it was burnt. Definitely not there usual standard. Should’ve monitored their customers!
B. M. D.
Very busy so service was not great. Food was decent
J. W.
My family ordered cakes on the "cake away" service. They are absolutely huge so amazing value for money
r. l.
Food was nice but the whole meal took quite a long time to be served and cleared, it would have been quicker if we had gone for the carvery.
g. b.
Come here yesterday had a very good carvery nice and hot and the staff was so helpfull
E. J.
Kev the Quiz Master and Peyton are the highlights of Cedar Tree. Would recommend
U. R.
Its amazing value for money and a great place for families with small children as they have a good indoor play area.
M. E.
Popped in, had a great meal and the staff were exceptional
T. D.
Fantastic service from Joe! Very friendly and always had a smile. Will definitely be returning.
S. T.
Picked up a magic bag for £3.99. Basically you fill a box up with as much veg as you like and they give you a slice of Turkey and a pot of gravy. Amazing value for money and delicious.
J. S.
It's a very good place for families as they have a children playing area and the food is quite decent. Smothered chicken is very good!
A. K.
Just another carvery, my daughter is gluten intolerant and when she asked a gluten free menu she was given huge folder with the contents of every item on the menu, quite intimidating and time consuming, even there chips had gluten in them, very strange.
Food OK but nothing special.
V.
For the price you pay it is good value one could argue but far from tasty. Mash was watery and the roasties were crushed and not crispy; veg was ok. Gammon was yummy but the serving was rather miserly.
S. A.
Veg -plenty
Meat -1 slice - poor
I bought 2 boxes and had to plate food up with my own cooked lamb.
Disappointed for price
D. C.
Great service by stephanie, always happy to help!
M. S.
Plenty of parking, a great location. Breakfast is fantastic, as is the carvery. Helpful and friendly staff too.
D. B.
Thank you for a great service
Darren was great
Steph was brilliant with my daughter so thank you
J. J.
Fab food and atmosphere! Me and the boyfriend recently visited and the food was lush! We were served by Chloe who couldn't have been more helpful! We had a lush time! Thanks again to Chloe for being so helpful! Will definitely visit again xx
M. H.
Beautiful carvery . Very tasty xxx
P. T.
everything was just perfect, the food, the service, I couldn't find fault with our visit today so I have booked again for tomorrow. Thanks to the staff for making our meal just perfect. Give them all a big pay rise, they are fantastic people. Thank you all.
r.
Just had a lasagne here, fairplay it was lovely. Atmosphere nice food very good. One nigly part is that it's a little bit slow but that is being really picky. Staff very friendly can recommend this place for an afternoon out.
T. J.
Always great food and service, love this place!
P. L.
We were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome and shown to a table, Ordered at the bar again with a smile from the staff and the food was hot and plentiful have already recommended to some friends.
C. D.
Dan and beckie are a credit to your company
Fantastic customer service and carvery
J. N.
The carvery was fantastic, I understand these times are difficult for pubs and restaurants etc, but my reason for this lower rating is I felt I was being badgered by a member of staff with a particular hair do, I was rushed and felt like I couldn't relax. The food was excellent though.
S. B.
Staff brilliant .Service amazing. Food first class. Booked another 2 weeks in as enjoyed so much
N. J.
Fab place to eat, was there today all 13 of us and the food was great, the staff were helpful and friendly. The kids area was open to the excitement of my kids. Will definitely be back.
J. F.
Fantastic service last night, very busy but Lily was great!
So thank you Cedar Tree Farm!
n. c.
It was busy but they handled it ! Carvery is good value for money! Deserts are huge ! You'd prefer it quieter but it is what it is !
S. S.
Amazing food and excellent service as Joanna made our night :) Many thanks 5 Stars!
J. W.
Just returned from early dinner at 5.15.. my husbands all day breakfast was very reasonable but my carvery, with the exception of the meat was very tired. Roasties and parsnips were burnt and flavourless. Yorkshire Pudding like a rock. Some of the veg were nice but the meal was drowned in tasteless very thick gravy. The veg had obviously been hanging around a very long time. Great place good safety measures and nice staff. Very disappointing carvery, as i particularly love a carvery. We will be back but will avoid the carvery .
A. G. J.
The carvery is FANTASTIC... Desserts are incredible..
P. D.
Delicious and filling food at good prices.
Moorish deserts and some to take home!
Polite, friendly and helpful caring staff.
S. P.
High quality food, good price and service. Will go many more times 👍
T. F.
We've tried before to get in this place but it has always been full, so now that we have actually eaten here I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good (we had the carvery) and the amounts not excessive. I was very impressed with the service: we messed up the dessert order but they shrugged kindly and replaced it with what we should have asked for in the first place! The sundaes were fab too, by the way.
A good time and I'm sure we'll be back.
Z. C.
All you can eat breakfast for 5.49... Who can complain! Great staff and looking forward to my next visit.
s. j.
Love this place. Only ever had the carvery for main course, always good. Plenty of choice of vegetables, stuffing and good gravy. You can stuff your face for very little money. There is always a choice of beef, turkey and gammon ham, all are good.
I have tried desert once, they are huge and look very appealing. Unfortunately it's all in the look, we had chocolate fudge cake, it was dry and tasteless. Avoid is my recommendation. Stick with the carvery you cant go wrong. Finding a table can be an issue because it's always busy, which is a good sign.
M. B.
Very disappointing, this is one of my favourite places to eat! Eat there on the14th Nov. Starter was forgotten about so I received mine after a reminder to the waitress, but everyone else had finished eating theirs. Had the curry for main meal which is usually beautiful but the poppadom was raw along with the pitta bread. The curry - chicken was awful, chips cold! Very disappointed 😞
J. S.
Went here yesterday and was amazing all till staff and servers were amazing polite and friendly food came out in 20 minutes boiling hot. And drinks were quite cheap also. Highly recommend.
P. W.
Had a great time Christmas day food was fantastic staff where excellent thanks for a fantastic day see you soon
P. J.
Nice place to stop for a family meal, you get what you pay for! Staff are friendly and attentive and the carvery is nice too
S. D.
I came in this evening with my friend for a meal and was greeted by Ella who told me everything I need to know.
When seated Steph and Sue were able to assist in any problem or question I had. The food was outstanding!
S. P.
Top notch grub lovely pub nice staff if I could give it a 10 I would best carvery I've had in years
J. M.
Lovely Food , great service.
A. A.
Just came here for a cocktail pitcher and a sharing platter. Exactly what you would need for a 'pub grub' happy to come here again. Have had the carvery here in the past and always hits the spot. Very friendly staff and good service.
R. H.
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic menu didn't try food but it all looked delicious
i. r.
Lovely food! Lovely service !
M. E.
Very friendly staff dinner amazing x
D. K.
Pretty generic Greene King other than the delicious carvery they offer. Really reasonable price for a mountainous plate of veggies. Would go again!
d. j.
Male member of staff at the carvery had a massive attitude problem, should be at the front of house if he doesn't speak to customer properly. The rest of the front of house staff were lovely, foods was good. Would have had a better rating if it was for the attitude from one member of staff.
C. M.
Nice food be warned they take away teas and coffee early
r.
What a cracking place! The carvery was or the scale 3 different types of meat to choose from Beef,Gammon and Turkey if you can’t choose you just have a piece of each big portions too. Highly recommend worth booking in advance to avoid being turned away as the place will be packed
G. K.
This is a hidden gem. The eating experience was made perfect by friendly staff, clean and spacious seating arrangements.
The carvery is great with perfectly cooked vegetables of all sorts. The gravy was as good as my wife's.
It has to be one of the best curveries in Cardiff.
Well done to all involved.
S. B.
A lovely meal and friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended
E. T.
Amazing staff and service excellent!!! Joanna and Dianna and Stephanie were amazing
L.
Great place with big servings , friendly and helpful staff , however we booked this place because we have kids and it has a play area but most of the arcade was out of order and the play area wasn't what it was which was a shame
M. R.
We have visited this venue regularly during these difficult times, it is absolutely brilliant the way it is being handled. The staff are amazing, so friendly, so courteous, nothing is too much trouble for them. Special mentions for George, Joanna, Chris the manager, Jordan , and the rest of the team. You are doing a brilliant job. Well done.
S. H.
Great place, nice staff and giant desserts.
L. P.
Went here last Sunday for carvary, food was good but I'm fussy with my vegetables and only like peas and carrots when I get to the veg and noticed they didn't have peas or carrots I ask if they could get me some from the back and the response was no!! so very disappointed
M. D.
Really can't fault the food and experience at Cedar Tree Farm. The food was excellent value for money, it arrived quickly and it was very well prepared. I had battered fish which wasn't greasy and had some of the crispiest batter I've had in a while! Also their chips are excellent. We didn't get around to trying their cakes for dessert (as we were all too full) which was a shame as they look amazing! The staff are really helpful and friendly and we really liked the layout where there separate areas for adult and family dining.
R. B.
Me and my boyfriend went there yesterday for lunch and I had the luxury macaroni with cheese for my main and for the sides I had button mushrooms they were lush my boyfriend enjoyed his food to
g. d.
Nice surroundings and family friendly. Family enjoyed their meal but I found the steak tough and tasteless
B. C.
Food lush and staff very friendly
J. A.
Never tried the carvery, but their non-carvery food is okay at best. Chips like cardboard but fine with enough sauce. Expensive for the quality.
Z. C. B.
Food was great but the service left a lot to be desired. We were greeted at first but a member of staff shouting across from a cross trainer (great that they were doing something to raise money for charity but is it really appropriate to be doing physical exercise in a restaurant??) This wasn't the most welcoming and also a little awkward. When a lady did come over and show us to our table there was no explanation of how it works so we were left sat at the table wondering if they were going to come back and take our drinks order (like at most other carvery's we have been to) or if we had to go to the bar. Turned out it was the latter.
We took our tickets to the carvery and 3 of us were served while my partner has nipped to the loo. When I was served I also showed his ticket and said that he was also on his way over. He arrived about a minute after I had been served but the server had vanished and, even though he was aware that another one of our party was planning to get his food imminently, made no attempt to keep an eye out.
It took a queue to build and is having to ask if anyone was serving before he came back out and have no apology for keeping everyone waiting. He did however give me an extra Yorkshire pudding which sweetened me slightly.
When we returned to the table with our food our friends were already half way through theirs as we had taken so long (I'd suggest approximately 10 minutes).
As I said at the start though the food was lovely and there was a good selection and it was all well stocked and fresh.
Please just work on the service and don't exercise in a restaurant.
D. M.
Surprisingly very nice, staff spot on.
K. C.
Went here for my sisters 30th birthday staff great, food awesome would definitely go again 14 of us and not 1 complaint, keep up the good work gang 👍 👍👍
S. J.
Absolutely LOVE the Cedar Tree Farm!! Always have the most beautiful food, and the staff are so happy and friendly!
D. N.
Good pub food, friendly, helpful staff
A.
Another brilliant experience here with family and children. Staff were very friendly and Dan ok carvery was great with my son 👍
v. G.
Beautiful food couldn’t knock it, the only downfall was we were still eating our starters, when the mains arrived before we had even finished, plus then the waiter wouldn’t take any of the starter dishes away, said he was unable to because of cross contamination! so just dumped the food and left, the Table was very crowded, As there were 5 of us, We felt everything was rushed, seemed like they couldn’t wait for us to eat and go.
T. B.
Enjoyed the carvery good size portions
T. M.
stuff reallly nice and the food great for the price and the got really nice desserts... and if u have kid they a little play area... just bring a couple pound for them 🤣
K. C.
A lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and pretty decent food. However the disparity between plates and cost in the carvery and the lack of sides let it a down a little.
G. D.
Not bad for a cheap meal. Friendly staff
N. V.
Carvery always a great choice. Quick option if you do not want to wait for service. The 3 choices of meat are always have been well cooked. Tender & tasty, gammon, beef, turkey, plenty of choice of vegetables. Place is set out for r adult only area & then family area.
R. S.
Very good carvery, service was perfect friendly staff made us feel welcome.
J. W.
Amazing experience here today at cedar tree farm that young fella Tomas, oh what a boy
R. H.
Fantastic carvery, well worth the money
R. E.
Had a lovely meal here with family. Able to cater for larger parties up to 6 on one table. Was busy period but plenty of helpful staff. Have three disabled parking bags right at front door. Toilets were clean. Docked 1 star because carpark was full and could be bigger but quiet periods shouldn't be a problem getting space.
C. R.
Book before arriving, they allocate you own booth. Order via the app for food and drinks.
Ordered carvery which they closed before the other meals arrived, so had to waych others eat wait whilst they made me a different meal and eat on own at end. all food was good just the availability is issue.
CHECK CARVERY TIMES WHEN ORDERING WITH APP.
K. J.
Great carvery with a good selection of veg, and 2 gravy options. I had beef and turkey both cooked well not tough or dry and there was plenty of stuffing it was quiet in the carvery so we did have to wait a while for the somone to come and serve the meat. Tables were clean and there was enough parking, but it would be a struggle at peak times.
J. W.
Had the Christmas Menu. Very good meal and very good price. Also enter-
tainment included
P. B.
Went for pre-Christmas lunch with friends, we had never been before. Really enjoyed the carvery, the food was fresh and hot (better to make stuffing balls in future to save sticking to serving spoon). The cakes and desserts looked lovely but we were all too full to try them. There was Christmas entertainment, I think a band but unfortunately we had to leave. Nice friendly staff, would definitely go again. Thank you
A. G.
Very nice, friendly staff and plenty of really lovely food. Will visit again with others of my family to show them what they have been missing
K. D.
Enjoyed my birthday meal today. Lovely food all round. Fantastic service. George the server went above and beyond to ensure our experience was 1st class and entertaining!!
C. C.
1st visit here today. Nice atmosphere, plenty of food on display & a 3 meat option to choose from. Lots of vegetable options. Very reasonable prices. Child menu's available if you don't fancy a carvery. (Kids get a free ice cream on certain meals too). Staff friendly, on the ball & helpful. Was far too full to have a dessert BUT WOW! What an amazing selection of desserts to choose from! Saw some on others plates & the portions were HUGE!
I will definitely pop in here again when next in the area. :-)
L. B.
Popped in n for breakfast. Cheap cheerful self serve. The smaller plate is plenty, unless you have a huge appetite. Slight confusion over how they worded the extra for a cappacino or latte over the standard coffee, which is refillable but the paid extra isn't.
Staff are pleasant and a tidy clean venue.
Desserts look awesome.
K. H.
Had a lovely meal at the cedar tree. Was served by the most lovely cavery chef Gareth who was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!
P. d.
Very nice place to visit, good food, place for kids to play
L. O.
Wow what a wonderful meal. There was an incident with a customer, but George was extremely professional and handled the situation. He took time to apologise to all customers, and we thanked him for our excellent service. Food absolutely amazing. Thank you all
s. c.
This was a surprise , a fantastic carvery , desserts to die for!
L. H.
Lovely food, staff work their butt's off. Very impressed
K. K.
It was a lovely meal staff very courteous, the only thing that I thought let it down. Was the amount of people that came in without wearing a mask. Apart from that I would recommend the Cedar Tree Farm to everyone 🙂
J. G.
One of our families favorite places to eat! The Carvery here is amazing and the kids love the play area. It does get very busy here so make sure you book if your going on a busy day.
J. M.
Good food and inexpensive. It's not a fantastic dining experience but it's enjoyable and pleasant. Everything is clean and tidy. The staff are helpful and friendly. The carvery is good and portions are sufficient. Sunday is crazy busy, worth the wait though.
L. D.
The restaurant is very child friendly, there is a lovely large play area at the back with plenty of seating nearby. There are lots of machines to put money in though so older children will be wanting money for them! There is plenty of seating around. There is a good menu with quite a bit of choice and definitely value for money. The coffee wasn't great at breakfast time. It wasn't busy on a weekday morning but it does get very busy at weekends as do most carvery places. Good size car park with free parking and outdoor seating available for when it's nice. The place was clean and staff were friendly. There is disabled access and plenty of room inside. The food was nice but not the best. I would recommend this place as cheap and cheerful and family friendly.
C. L.
When I went the veg, especially the roast potatoes were all hard and stale. The worst carvery i have ever had. It was mid week dinner time. It was pretty empty in there in general too. And chilly. I had to wait a good while for someone to come and serve me at the carvery, which was empty! It is cheap however. Decor is lovely albeit a little dark
R. H.
Went for the decent pub and good carvery and stayed for the unbelievable desserts. There are tons to choose from and the portion sizes are on an American scale - my slice lasted three days. As a venue it's fine, if unremarkable. The staff are friendly.
E. G.
Picked up a takeaway of 8 caverys. Great service and really yummy food!
B. P.
Love this place the food is always fresh and hot ...the stuff make you feel welcome..
But
It can get very very busy ...
Can't wait to go back 😀😀😀😀
J. H.
Took the family here for a carvery dinner in the week.
The food was okay but didn't stand out in any way. They make some fantastic desert cakes which are extremely generously sized. Price is very reasonable on weekdays too.
r. p.
Couldnt fault the food or service.staff were excellent
S. T.
Great Atmosphere and food and the Cakes are fantastic and HUGE
R. J.
First time I've been here. Staff were very friendly and all smiling which makes a refreshing change to most places. Perfect if you have kids and perfect if you don't want to hear the kids as it has areas that are kid free zones, as well as the family area to keep the little ones entertained.
The Carvery was the best I've had for some time. Everything was fresh, meats were perfect and so was the lovely gravy. Will defiantly visit again.
J. J.
Carvery, no gammon available. Beef was good. But the vegetables were terrible, sorry, but they were, shrivelled and dry. As for the horseradish, it would have made good mortar. So quality varies. Waitresses were polite and cleared tables quickly, but not wiped down. The manager needs to get a grip.
T. O.
Lovely food and quick service
L. O.
A carvery all week. It's a good one too. I understand puddings are a speciality but was too full to try but will next time. There is a play area for small children inside at the far end of the pub, excellent idea as plenty of tables near to be able to use it but it's a big place so it's easy to sit completely away from that area and have a child free experience if preferred.
L. W.
I've been to the cedar tree 3 times and each time, I've loved the food and atmosphere.
The carvery is always fresh and replenished regularly.
The staff are courteous and friendly. They clean tables within minutes of them being vacated.
I like how there's an adult only section and a section for the kids too.
I can't wait to revisit!
H. B.
Beautiful carvery as usual. Staff always very helpful. Would definitely go again.
S. S.
Quick service and a good selection of food on the menu, deserts looked very nice too.
P. M.
You get what you pay for. Lots of veg choices but needed straining and roast potatoes were very dry and tasted like yesterday roasts. My sister took me there on her recommendation having had great dinners in the recent past. She said it wasn't up to standard so i guess it was a bad day. We all get them. Sorry for being negative but I like to be honest . Will probably go for the battered cod next time as that looked amazing.
R. W.
I ordered carved ham with chips peas 2eggs very tasty meal indeed set at a good price as well worth a visit staff very friendly
R. H.
Went there for food. Was great and service brilliant!
K. M.
Carvery good choice of veg however not much meat. Went on a Saturday and thought it was expensive

It's quite difficult to rate this place fairly. The quality of the carvery is variable and can be bland at times. The gravy is never good. The rest of the menu is bought in and either reheated or grilled/fried so the quality ranges from good to mediocre depending what you choose. The surroundings are clean and well presented. It is reasonably priced, quick and convenient. For these reasons I do use the place when I need to eat quickly.

Booked a table for 17 for 18th birthday lunch. All meals were perfectly presented and delivered and greatly enjoyed. Deserts were fulsome and delicious. Staff were delightful in attitude and helpfulness. Young members kept fully entertained with children's play area nearby. Perfect afternoon.

Good looking pub with lots of tables, children separated from all adult groups, children's play area and good service. Good choice of food including the carvery. It's fast food so don't expect gourmet standards but fine for us. Convenient location too.

Always friendly approachable staff. Fantastic welcome every time we visit. Food is always lovely and fresh and piping hot. The carvery chefs always listen to what you would like. Prices are very reasonable too. Well worth the journey wherever you live.

We had a lovely carvery here and a mixed grill that was perfectly cooked. The cakes are to die for too.

Food and drinks here are lovely, served appropriately, and lovely environment inside. I particularly love the cake-away they offer here!

Lovely food. Carvery, separate bar menu and breakfast. Love their Club Sandwich!
Kind staff, quick service, onsite free parking. Also has a children's area (Which for people that aren't a fan of kids, is the opposite end to the bar, so you don't have to be around them if you don't want to).

Fast, friendly and professional service. Turned up on speck and they accommodate d our party with ease. Took the health and safety aspect of covid very seriously and the food was beautifully cooked

Very dear for a minute amount of meat, for less money coopers carvery gives you more with a wider range of veg

Good ample parking. As soon as you open the door your presented with a good impression on cleared tables and clean restaurant. The only difficulty was choosing from the large selection menu. When the food arrived it was of good quality and hot. Not only that the staff here are friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous food.
Re-visited the Cedar Tree this last weekend - 20 months since our last visit (thankyou covid)! The food and hospitality are just as good as before. We were quite a large party but all food was served together and was excellent as usual.

All the family love having a meal here. My wife adores the carvery meal while I usually go for a meal from the menu, the prices are reasonable and a very good selection of dishes. Lots of free parking on site as well as being child friendly.

Considering it was difficult finding a parking space due to being very busy which is a good thing, we were found a table straight away. Fantastic service, carvery was amazing. The meat was beautifully cooked. Dessert out of this world. First time visit most definitely won't be our last. Thankyou

Meal was great except for the beef gravy but still would award a 4 plenty of meat. Other meal to include the salmon fillet which was nicely poached and carvery ham egg and chips was very tasty all in all completely satisfied and would return!

The Sunday carvery was nice. Family seating area is great if you have young kids or you like sitting in a noisy atmosphere whilst eating your food! It may be an idea to bring the upper age limit down from 12 years to 8 or 9 years perhaps?

Great atmosphere. Meal took a while due to it being so very busy but that's ok. However, mine was lukewarm and meat was a bit dry but everyone else's meals were warm and tasty. The waitress looking after our area just went round in circles not doing a lot and never once asked if everything including our meal was OK. I would go there again though.

Cakes to die for.. All the food is great, portions are a good, the roast was close to perfection, I would have preferred the potato's to be more crispy, this could just be personal preference or was just not perfect that day. Certainly would go again and would recommend to all that like food or cake 🎂

The Cedar Tree Farm do a lovely Carvery from midday. Be prepared to queue but well worth the lovely Dinners they make for you. The roast meats are cut and placed on your plate with Yorkshire pudding and stuffing if you want it. Vegetables you serve yourself and gravy. Be careful plates are very HOT, if your child wants to help themselves get some servettes to help them hold the plate. . They have inside Dining but, they also have
outside tables and chairs. Plenty of parking and if you have children there is a children's play area inside. You will be able to watch them which is very useful if they have finished there food before you have finished yours. For those with out children they have a separate dining area for your peace and quiet dining.

If you're after a massive meal and trying to please the whole family, this cathedral to obesity will do you well. For a carvery, the Sunday lunch is tasty as well as abundant. The size of the desserts would make an American blush, but on the whole it's fairly decent for a reliable Sunday meal. Try and avoid sitting by the kids play area, your ears will bleed and you'll go and get yourself sterilized.

Only 3 stars, my meal was lovely I have eaten here many times but my dessert was not good. Chocolate brownie sundae with just bits of brownies on top no vanilla ice cream all chocolate. I usually get a few brownies in it and then i don't mind but not today. I complained only to be told the manager or who ever the server took it to said the brownies were on top. No refund I couldn't eat it far to much chocolate ice cream and nothing else.

Good carvery, fast service, decent price

Amazing. What can I say. The food was out in 20 minutes and it was delicious. Desert was the biggest slice of cake I have ever seen in my life and they give you a tub to take it home if you can't finish it. Great family section away from the general section. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced.

The Cedar Tree Farm is a Greene King owned Farmhouse Inn restaurant specialising in carvery and a general dining experience located on the outskirts of Cardiff city centre.
It's a well-kept farmhouse inn restaurant; the parking is plentiful, there is a clean outdoor eating and dining environment and the indoor dining experience is warm and welcoming suitable for toddlers, children and adults along with it's farmhouse architecture.
The members of staff are frequently more than helpful and are often polite, the quality of the food is good and the portions are large.
The Cedar Tree Farm is a recommend place to visit for everyone to visit.

Over the last few months we have had several occasions when the food has been cold, or not cooked properly. We have been going to the restaurant nearly every Saturday for a few years but the standard has definately dropped. The staff are lovely but the food needs a rethink.

Food was hot and plentiful. The person who greeted me - Joanna was polite and helpful, as was Debbie. Only notable exception was the person who took the order and payment, she could have been more cheery.

Loved the food, staff very polite. The service was poor and let them down.

The food isn't anything special but it gets the job done.

Always received great food from here. It is usually busy but it's definitely worth the wait. I'd recommend either ordering off the menu or having one of the carverys. Best thing is the cakeaway so I can always get a dessert to go because I never usually have room to eat it there!

We came here for something quick to eat on the way home. We were very happy with the food and especially the price. Very cheap for what you get and the Carvery was very good I must say. Will definitely be coming here again.

A delicious meal delivered at a leisurely pace. I ordered the Hunters Chicken which was deliciously cooked served alongside chips, salad, sweetcorn and a homemade coleslaw. Would definitely visit again, however, this meal did take, painstakingly, close to an hour to arrive.

Lovely family atmosphere with great food. Carvery is delicious with plenty of options and the menu food is perfect too. If you are a desserts person this is 100% the place to go. Huge desserts and so gorgeous!

Had a late, leisurely and great breakfast here yesterday, (13/4/17) excellent service, price and food. For under £4 each we had a full traditional breakfast with as much toast and tea or coffee as you want. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and helpful, coming to let us know when the toast and tea and coffee were being removed to make way for lunches. Definitely 5 star for service and food, will be visiting again.

5 star venue for being a really good local restaurant. I had the carvery and loads of veg. Everything hot and fresh. Plentiful and comfortable seating areas and quick service. Couldn't fault the service or the food.

The food is ok but my husband ordered the medium rare meat and it was rather medium.
The waitress who spoke Spanish was very kind, thank you very much!

In sumary food was nice but service was poor. In more detail: Well the good bits first. Food is lovely, prices are pretty good too. Now the bad stuff. I ordered 4 meals and drinks. I ordered myself a mac n cheese with bacon and with ciabatta on the side. Food arrived at table in good time but my mac and cheese turned up as a burger and chips. I mentioned this and was told i could have my preferred meal if i wait but since the others in my party were already eating i just accepted the burger meal. It was nice despite not being my preference. Dessert time came. Ordered 3 ice creams and a cheesecake for my mum. Was told cheese cake would arrive at table. 20 minutes later i ask a member of staff where the cheesecake was. He went to the kitchen and reassured me he would find out. He never came back. So we grabbed another waiter and asked for a refund. He instead offered to get order and arrange it to be taken away. He did this promotly. However i paid for it with ice cream which we obviously could not take away. My Dad impatient with the delays spoke to the manager who was drinking a pint (this was just about 1:30pm i might add) and was not the least bit concerned by the service. So im slightly out of pocket and wasted about half hour chasing up food. It was my first time bringing the family and it has saddly left a very poor impression in regards to the service.
Edit 2020: Despite some reservations after my first experience, I came here again with another family member. That experience was a complete 180 of the first. I decided to give it a third shot and again, it was fine. Foods cheap and decent quality and on these further visits it was prompt to arrive and accurate. Having eaten there a few times since, i've found that the service is very dependant on how busy it is there. Overall, i'm changing my rating following these further visits as my first visit seems to have been the exception and not the rule.
