P. C.Fantastic Latino South American restaurant. The start was delicious (calamari with smoke paprika and dusted with corn meal) and the main courses were chicken burger and Bahrain chicken curry. This came with rice and plaintain. Both courses were delicious and flavoursome. The staff were so friendly. The restaurant also offered eat out to help out scheme which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend to people wanting to dine out in Cardiff. Also, there were social distancing measures in place such as increased table distance.

The ingredients are amazing and work well together although plenty and the chips are also crispy and delicious in addition to the churros. The staff are very nice as well. Highly recommended.

O. F.In my opinion, the go-to Latin American restaurant in Cardiff! Personal recommendations are the Seafood moqueca, chicken xinxim, goat curry, mole poblano (chicken with chili infused dark chocolate sauce), and the bahian chicken curry.
If you're thinking that's a long list of recommendations, it's because they're all fantastic.
The cocktails are well made and very refreshing, with a somewhat personal quality to it that you know you won't find the same flavour profile anywhere else. Hard to describe, so you're better off visiting and tasting it yourself!

J.Used to love ordering from this place on Uber Eats but they have recently removed all of their offers and excluded themselves from any promotions. So unfortunately they are a bit overpriced now (hence 3 stars) and I won't be ordering from them any more which is a shame.

P. M.Popped in Friday 4th September 2020 c 14;00 hrs with a lady and almost walked out But would have proven to be a big mistake as we were eventually seated.
The lady and I were shown a table and we were soon sipping Corona lager and eating the most wonderful Nachos for starters.
I ordered a ribeye steak whilst the ladyI was with ordered Beef Burritos. There was a reasonable wait for the food, but not too long.
The standard of presentation and the quality of food was excellent. It has been well over 20 years since I last ate food as good as that. It was cooked to perfection.
I was delighted with the service and ai think the lady I was with was happy with it as well.
Overall a great time and reasonable value for money.

The chicken was dry and overcooked, the beans and rice were warm rather than hot, and the cheese was scattered on top rather than melted. Main positive: the man who served me was very friendly and helpful, as he was with every customer while I was there.

D. N.Went there twice in quick succession because that's how good they are. First time we had cocktails and a bunch of starters - tacos, spicy potatoes, crab cakes, and others. All fresh and flavoursome. Cocktails are good, on the cheap side compared to central Cardiff where it feels you need to take a small loan out for a night out with cocktails.
Second time we shared a starter - calamari - which was very nice indeed, dusted in cornflour for maximum crunch. For mains we had mole poblano and a chicken and chorizo grill. Both dishes were truly flavourful and delicious, generous in size.
Interior is colourful and charming, definitely has a vibe and character of it's own boosted by a lovely mix of retro music that is played in just the right volume.
Staff is generally well prepared for distancing with tables spread out, sanitizer available upon arrival and waiters wearing masks.
We had a very nice time and will be coming back again. If you're tired of anemic rubberised steaks and plank dry burgers in your local pub definitely go for Vivo Latino for a change.

L. D.Visited yesterday with my family to celebrate a belated birthday. From entering the restaurant, we were welcomed very warmly and the attentive service continued throughout the meal. The varied South American menus was excitingly refreshing and fantastic on the palate! What was particularly great was the fact there were glutenfree choices ACTUALLY listed! The chef/owner bent over backwards to accommodate our needs even adapting our selection. One of the BEST meals I've had in a long time and this was shared by all of us. If you are looking for a place with good ambience, authentic music, attentive service and absolutely great food, then don't hesitate! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, can't wait to return.

I have tried a couple of the cocktails and they were not to my taste really but the pisco sour is delicious. Can't fault the food we ordered. It was xim xim and it was just delicious.
