Great choice of chocolates but staff not too friendly, when I decided not to take out a loyalty card, as I buy alot of my chocolate on line as we don't have one of these shops where we live.

I found out about Hotel Chocolat from Wuntu and to my surprise they recently opened up in Derby. So I dropped in and decided to take a look around. I was politely greeted and offered some samples of chocolate. We had hot chocolate and an Earl Grey as well, they were all heavenly! The service and products are top-notch. I will be coming back for more of their Earl Grey and Hot Chocolate. I just cannot recommend them enough!

Staff were friendly enough without going overboard. The chocolate is expensive IMO but it is nice and there is so much variety. It makes a nice present when a standard chocolate bar obviously wouldn't do. Nice clean and posh shop and in the nice surroundings of the intu centre.

I'm a bit jealous Derby gets a cafe when Nottingham only gets a store, but to finally have a Hotel Chocolat cafe in the East Midlands (my last visit to one involved a drive to Cheshire.. okay, we happened to be passing) makes me happy.. the best hot chocolate.. even if I forgot to upgrade to the whipped cream. And then there's all the usual delicious stuff to take home, in a new bright and airy store with warm friendly staff and I hope a great future ahead.

Went in not really knowing what I wanted. I ended up deciding on a hot chocolate, something i haven't had for years due to a lactose intolerance. The girl at the counter was super helpful and showed me the oat milk carton which is dairy and gluten free. Then proceeded to make the best hazelnut hot chocolate I could ever imagine. I am not exaggerating when I say i tasted heaven - it was creamy, absolutely delicious beyond belief and a perfect temperature. At every sip I interrupted the conversation i was having to say how amazing the hot chocolate was. I hereby swear i am never drinking hot chocolate from anywhere else ever in my life.

They do chocolate. Epic, mouth drolling, choice boggling chocolate. They are a bad influence. Don't buy the blocks of salted caramel chocolate - the are all mine!
