Reviews of Toby Carvery Chaddesden
R. A. T.
This is an amazing breakfast. All you can eat and hot mugs of tea. I loved it so much I had 2 plates. Amazing friendly staff who genuinely enjoy their job and care about their customers. The staff smile because they are happy to serve and because they bond together, which is because of great management. Really at ease here will definitely come again. 100,000% best Toby I have ever been too.
A. V.
Good place to come for carvery, the selection of pork, gammon, turkey, beef is well prepared and served in two portions large and small.
The meat portions can be topped up with large selection of vegetables and gravy. The only downside was size of meat portions you get for the price paid. Two people large meal with soft drinks and two desserts £50. That's alright. Highly recommended.
c.
Excellent customer service very friendly always available to help and great with allergies. Nice and clean, polite . There was also a variety of choice for the carvery. When went there was 5 meats, several veg, different potato options and other things. Very pleased with the experience and will definitely be returning.
N. S.
Not too bad for a Sunday roast. Quite busy as always. Decent choice of meats, however there wasn't a great choice of vegetables today - green beans, carrots, peas and cauliflower cheese... Price was reasonable.
I guess for a place that is known for its carvery you would expect a little more.
H. W.
We love a toby carvery breakfast and have been to several now on our travels. This branch has a nice building with a comfortable interior and decent decor. The breakfast was cooked well and the only negative we could find was that they had run out of the signature breakfast hash that we love so much.
V. Q.
Food was good but management was rude. Booked for 11.30 and food wasn't available until gone 12 but nobody mentioned the delay upon arrival. After sitting there watching the food sitting at the carvery for about 15 minutes we were discussing the delay in our group when, what appeared to be, a female manager walked past and overheard us and said 'I'll make sure to tell them to hurry up'. I tried to continue the conversation with her but she was having none of it and simply walked off. I spoke to the waitress and she was much more polite and helpful and explained that breakfast had been extremely busy and run over. I pointed out it would have been nice to simply be warned of the delay as my group had a further 4½ hour drive and we could simply have gone to a different one on our route a bit later.
H. T.
From the moment we walked in the door, the customer service was incredible. I'm on a special diet for health reasons and the team could not have done enough for me, even plating up separate veg from the carvery. Well done guys, Connor and team. We'll be back for sure.
K. E.
Hard working, pleasant and attentive staff all round. Tasha our waitress was really attentive, efficient and happy to help. Great food, great prices. An asset to the brand and an enjoyable visit.
P. C.
There were 3 of us. All adults. Daughter taking her dad n partner out for a meal for Father's Day.
The staff were super efficient. Explained how the ordering worked etc.
However.. the meal let you down. We all had a drink, and a Carvery.
When we went up for the Carvery, we had ample meat. And there was a good choice of veg.
But when we got back to our table, everything was verging on being cold. Even the gravy wasnt hot.
S. S.
Lunchtime - can't fault the food. But customer service ... seating an elderly group of 6 on a table of 5, 2 members of floor staff we're stood at the host stand next to the table and offered no help or support in getting the 6th chairs and cutlery, wasn't nice to see, so I fetched a chair and cutlery myself so they could be seated and enjoy their meal. Unfortunately, their experience didn't seem to get any better as they were stood at the carvery station for 10 minutes waiting for the chef to come and carve the meat , very disappointing customer service today
L. W.
Honestly, seems like no one cares.
Can be really nice, can be awful. Depends who's working.
A place like this really should be standardised.
Food was cold, turkey was dry.
The waitress was a bit rude. Seemed like I was an inconvenience.
She refilled the mint sauce and bright the bowl back with the outside covered in mint sauce... why not change it for a clean one?
They just don't care
R.
Had a carvery today service was spot on as usual, Rich and omoy were the carvers and were very polite and helpful giving enough meat and a cracking Yorkshire, the rest of food was hot, fresh and plenty of, the gravy was nice and thick and plenty of taste, plenty of choice in the saucers to, in all one of the best carvery I've had in a long time. our waiter today was Lewis he was very polite and attentive asking if the food was ok and did we need anything.
J. W.
Although we have been many times without any problems, yesterday not too good. We booked a table for 12-30pm but when we got there the table had not been booked, however Tracey remembered me going into book.we had to wait till a table was free. Then we were called to the table. We then went to get our carvery only to be told there was no turkey and that we would have to wait another 30 minutes. A turkey arrived so we started to get our meal only to find the turkey was cold but the rest of the meal was ok
S. M.
I liked this place a lot. For the price for the meal it's spot on. Staff were brilliant helpful and chatty. Ready to get you a drink. Atmosphere was good. Great for familys
S. K.
The waitress was lovely, the site manager that got our table sorted is a hero, bar staff are great service and the food was amazing as always! Fantastic value and guaranteed return. Thank you!
D. B.
What's not to like....a good old roast with the trimmings and friendly staff. The only reason I gave a four star rating, was because the restaurant is a bit dark and dated, and can do with a good lightening and sprucing up for the modern diner.
S. A.
The staff were as always very polite and helpful and as my sister walks with a stick the waitress was there straightaway to help her up 2 steps to our table Also the person who showed us to the table checked if she was okay with the steps The food as always was great but we do find it could be a bit hotter
J. H.
Staff of extremely friendly and welcoming can not fault them... we had the carvery which was absolutely beautiful and lovely and hot ..we have been before and on the odd occasion the carvery hasn't been hot ...but still tasty...just making sure the carvery is kept and a lovely hot temperature is the only improvement needed otherwise outstanding food and staff
B. D.
First time we have been for a while and was disappointed. Hard roast potatoes. No stuffing, mac cheese dried up,yorkshire pudding was soft and chewy.but on the positive side meat and onions were okay
B. B.
Very nice food usually however quality of food seems hit and miss sometimes. Breakfast is always nice, the carvery can change in quality sometimes
A. S.
Friendly staff, reasonable prices and very tasty carvery. My son loves coming here as a treat
L. B.
Great food 4 meats to choose or all 4 with lovely fresh vegetables, tasty gravy to go with it. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
i. b.
Very good nice food staff were pleasant first time we have visited the pub has we were on holiday.
S. S.
Always fantastic food and excellent service! They always really look after us when we come for work District Meetings!
P. J.
What a disappointing experience.
£16 for two breakfasts and soft drinks & all that was edible was the toast.
No yorkshires, no scrambled egg, no hash mix, no gravy.
Just cold sausages, tepid beans and burnt bacon.
Was so looking forward to this too.
A shame.
Edit:
Returned folllwing compensation voucher offer and couldn’t fault the service or the food second time around. Redeemed itself.
M. S.
Booked a takeaway on a whim
This review is based entirely on that experience
The website asks very few questions, chiefly about the sort of meat, the type of gravy and if you require stuffing (I did)
I turned up five minutes early to collect the order and the pleasant chap behind the bar said he would find it for me,
I left with a carrier bang on the collection time
First impression when I got home was good, the meat was in a separate part of a closed tray And the vegetables were a little bit thrown in but certainly did not look unappealing
A good portion of roast potatoes I was in a separate thermal bag, there was a good size tub of gravy, and another little bag containing a Yorkshire pudding
Unfortunately the two things that were missing, in my opinion, was the cauliflower cheese which I love but I accept that many people do not like, and the stuffing I ordered.
I took a plate out of the oven that was too hot to touch and decanted the entire meal onto it, I have to say that the food was generally not very hot but then this is February and it did take me a good 5 to 10 minutes to get home
The meat was cooked to perfection as indeed we’re all of the vegetables and I felt it was a very good sized portion and a welcome change from eating out of the microwave although, in hindsight, it would have benefited from a good two minutes in the microwave
I have marked this review down to 4 stars partly because of the lack of the stuffing I specifically ordered and partly because the meat part of the meal was actually stone cold, not even warm, which is a shame but then the meal was most satisfying But you really cannot beat going into a Toby carvery and helping yourself to the food that you want in the quantities you want
Would I use the service again? It’s hard to say I normally prefer to go and sit down but I certainly would not avoid using it again
e. h.
Friendly and helpful staff. Prompt table service for drinks. Carvery very tasty, including lamb which you don't get in many places. Great roast potatoes and enormous Yorkshire puds. As part of a chain I did not expect it to be as good as it was. Pleasantly surprised will definitely visit again.
R. B.
Can't fault the breakfast at all. I always judge a breakfast by the sausages and these were tasty and not at all greasy. Tried it but still not a believer in breakfast gravy and Yorkshire pudding 😀 Friendly staff, what is there not to like. I'd recommend the breakfast.
D. S.
Service is fantastic and I've always found staff to be friendly and helpful. However, food is certainly lacklustre, with the veg sometimes being quite overcooked and dried out. Very reasonable prices though
K. J.
Amazing experience the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was great as it always is. Me and my family love this place
M. A.
Plum porter ! This made my visit so much more worth it ! Great food, great staff, always friendly , always a good atmosphere … kids love it ! We love it , parking is simple , sometimes gets a bit too warm inside but great seating area outside
l. h.
Always a good selection of roast meats and vegetables. Tasty food. Well cooked. Staff are courteous and friendly. A little gem in Derby
L. B.
This restaurant is amazing there is nothing to improve on everything is amazing they are quick to giving ur pudding and drinks and u can get get ur food on ur own so u dont have to explain what u want exept for the drink and the pudding.

Today's conversation at this place-
Lady at the door: are you here for a food?
Me: I would just like a cofee and cake.
Lady: Ou sorry we dont do cakes here.
Me suprised: Don't you have a cakes on the menu?
Lady: we have a pudding menu. ( gives me the menu)
Me: So this chocolate cake on your menu is not a cake?
Lady: well it is a pudding, we call them puddings here.
Seriously? What an unnecessary attitude. She clearly enjoyed correcting me, perhaps just because I have an accent. Not returning.

Great place for the family supper staff, if you have alleges just let them know, they will take care to make shure you needs are meet , your experience will be great 👍
Z. C.
The meal was great. I thinks it's better to book a table as many people were there already... On a Monday.
J. T.
quite a nice place good atmosphere busy, didn't have a meal but they looked good ample car parking, its worth a visit.
D. G.
Been for our breakfast at Toby Chaddesden we were greeted by Maxine & Tracey who were excellent in customer service 10 *****x2 very helpful an courteous friendly as always, it's a pleasure to see them, thank you 👌👌
L. H.
Fantastic service, lovely fresh quality food. Group of 8
Will definitely be visiting again x
J. B.
Easter Sunday lunch... Very busy, but good service and good carvery.. Polite, friendly staff.
R. D.
Went for the carvery, which was nice. Good selection of meats which were cooked well; fair selection of vegetables, sides, sauces and gravies. Good to have more than one alcohol-free beer available, but more than two would have been better. Price was keen.
The table was a bit sticky, which was unpleasant. The toilets were appalling.
But the server was friendly and helpful.
A. D.
Fantastic Experience, Food was excellent, lots of choice available and staff were incredibly helpful. Highly recommended. Will definitely be returning again in the future.
T.
Everything was good, lovely meal ,waitress helpful too
P. B.
Good cavery food at a reasonable price. Plenty of parking and not too busy on a Monday lunchtime.
M. E.
Ok place, but roast was nothing to write home about..... Best off staying on Indigo bus, and goto Eaton Farm, Long Eaton (Wilsthorpe school).
N. C.
Our table was booked & we had time to get a drink before being seated. The carvery is as usual very good value for money. Our waitress Tracy-Ann was very helpful & even sang happy birthday as she was bringing out the cake.
K. S.
Love me some Toby ❤
And my lovely waitress Jacky
A. W.
Excellent! I got a big plate and wasn't satisfied with the amount of meat I got even tho I got a large plate and my partner got a regular we had the same, at the end I explained and the lady very kindly topped me up. Really happy the service from the staff was polite. Definitely going back! Was really bust and even under pressure they managed to keep smiling and a good service walking around asking if everything is okay etc. Highly recommend. If I knew the lady name who gave me extra meat ild give her a payrise if it was was to me. She also gave me mac and cheese after overhearing me explain I enjoyed the taste of it.... Fantastic! It was a lady with black hair. She made my night. She's the reason I will and am coming back for seconds!
H. W.
Amazing visit! Friendly team, thank you for being so welcoming and accommodating every time 💜
I. P.
I've been here a few times of late and both were excellent experiences.
On arrival, we were warmly welcomed were soon shown to a table. As well as the traditional and very popular carvery, there are other variations and options on the menu and tempting side dishes such as pigs in blankets and a large variation on the same as a main meal.
I had a very filling Yorkshire wrap with roast potatoes with a side order of blankets whilst the rest of the family had a carvery. My meal came as the others returned from the counter. Great timing.
Refill options on soft drinks, a handy pay-by-app at the table option and very friendly helpful and attentive staff. Everything seemed very well run and the restaurant (with a separate bar/lounge if you just want a drink) is both comfortable and spacious and well kept. Options to lower window blinds on a sunny day too.
The car park is a little tight immediately outside the building but there is more parking nearby outside the Travelodge which is immediately next door and down a slight ramp in the road.
B. E.
Was left waiting at food counter 10 minutes before being told it would be 20 minutes before any mashed potatoes and Yorkshire puddings will be ready. Could have said before I was served food so I could have waited before going to the food counter.
k. F.
Fantastic food, first class service, just a lovely experience, a big thankyou to babs who looked after us so well.
c. m.
Love coming to Toby as its a very welcoming place, however the gammon is a bit salty xx
P. n.
Met my son there before we went to the game. Nice crowd in there. Beer was nice and cold.
A. P.
Carly our server was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Food was excellent.
N. P.
Bit disappointing as they were out of several things on the menu but the staff were very helpful
R. R.
Had a family meal here.. thought it was great... food was hit and fresh... the restaurant team very attentive... quite busy when we went but no real queues or wait times.. seems really well run.. had a really nice night there
B. S.
Easily booked a table for 3 and had help with my sister who has walking difficulties. We enjoyed the carvery but I do wish they'd let me have the turkey wing or the missing leg... Thanks 🌞
a. l.
Emily was absolutely amazing, really bubbly personality, I will be back again and again.
V. B.
Six of us went for boxing day festive lunch and none of us could fault it, all the food we had was really well presented and our waitress was attentive and really nice, all in all a really lovely meal.
C. H.
Wonderful breakfast and good value.. Highly recommend.
K. G.
Recommend in the week before 8pm.
Food is usually well cooked and really attentive staff x
A. B.
Fantastic all you can eat and amazing staff!
S. L.
Very busy, but it was a match day. the service was excellent, food was lovely and our waitress was very polite and friendly.
I. T.
The usual Toby Cavery fare. Nicely cooked meat with plenty of veg including their cauliflower cheese, my favourite.
F. F.
Lovely food, great service. Would definitely eat here again. Well worth the value
T. W.
I'm so sorry I ve forgotten but she was a small petite lady and of Asian appearance.....I hope I haven't offended by that description 😬 she was lovely xx
R. C.
Been here a few times with friends and it's always been a great experience. Cheap carvery meal and tasted amazing
H. L.
Good meal; one expects from Toby Carvery. Attentive staff, without being 'in your face'. I hurt my leg a week ago, and am still limping slightly, and the staff member allocated to our table was looking out for me returning with my plate and was quick to offer to take my plate to the table.
M. O.
Carvery was really nice and tasty, staff were very warm and friendly. Will definitely be going again soon
M. C.
Arrived at lunch time and first ordered coffee but unfortunately the coffee machine wasnt working correctly, next ordered sandwiches and a drink, this came after a short wait and im glad to say was of a good quality. Overall, recommended.
L. C.
Lovely mothers day meal. Fresh meat, lovely sweets and awesome staff
c. g.
Very nice carvery .plenty of choice. Pleasant staff.
T. G.
We visited this Toby Carvery on the 01.09.21, it was late afternoon and quite busy with cars in the car park. Despite that it walked into a warm environment with good social distancing measures and did not have to wait long to be shown to a table for 2. The Team Leader Babs was on the floor to greet and serve us within minutes of us taking our seats. She was very efficient when taking our orders and friendly to the other customers that she had in her section.
The food was great that evening, the meat was carved generously and the sides were cooked properly, we both finished our plates and nodded to each other that it was a pretty good meal. It was so good that we visited the next day for late lunch. Service was just as great and we were served by Babs! Only downside this visit round was that some of the veggies such as carrots and potatoes were underdone, that being said it was still 4/5 ⭐️
D. c.
Always do a very good breakfast and the staff are great 👍
S. B.
Great food with excellent customer service from Amy and the team
N. S.
It was great to visit Toby Carvery again. The carvery meal was excellent as always but served by staff rather than self service and for some unfathomable reason carried to the table by a waitress - customers are not allowed to carry their own dinner. Apart from the universal covid rubbish which is hardly their fault we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal, excellent value and friendly service. It’s good for veggies too; we had the meat free carvery but there is an excellent selection of accompaniments available.
L. C.
I enjoyed going friendly staff would go again 1st time I went
S. W.
The carvery was excellent with every vegetable you could mention .we hadn't booked but they found us a table certainly recommend it
H. S.
Booked via automated phone response, got to the restaurant and seated straight away, ordered drinks n went straight up to carvery. Small line tthat moved quite fast and as usual fantastic quality of food. Staff were lovely and it was a fantastic experience! 2nd day of our holiday so was so lovely to enjoy a roast in great surroundings. Would defo recommend booking.
L. P.
You have to wait ages for the carver to come from out the back to cut & serve the meat, happens every time we go there. Beef is stringy, Food just warm.
L. M.
Simply delicious food. Friendly chef. Attentive waiter.
R. F. G.
We went here for breakfast which was okay. If quantity is your thing, then this is the place for you. However the quality is quite poor and overall the experience is mostly tasteless. Thankfully you can having lashings of brown sauce to liven things up but that's not really the point. The baked beans particularly were poor and should have been cooked for longer to thicken them up. Also, the decaf coffee is out of satchets (and not great) and the tea/coffee is done by the cup rather than in pots. The ambiance was good though being relatively quiet and the staff were friendly (although given the small interaction, one would expect nothing else). If you wanta quality breakfast is suggest somewhere else but if you want to fill your face then this is your place!
S. G.
Went for breakfast for the first time since 2020. Was disappointed with the lack of items available.
N. R.
Booked a table using the Toby application.
You are shown to a table where they accept your order. If you opt for a carvery. You tell the chef though the safety screen what items you want, after that you go back to your table and your waiter takes the food to you at your tables . You also pay at your table. It is best to book before you arrive.
The meal was fine and the quantity quite generous. I recommend the Toby carvery to anyone.
T. C.
Good value and lovely staff. Very pleasant experience.
J. B.
Fast service, good food, great price, what more can you ask for?
B. P.
Fantastic place, been allocated table briefly and well look after. All fresh food and a wide selection of it. Both I and my 9yo were very pleased.
G.
Tracey and the whole staff were very helpful and polite. They all get 5star but my bacon was a bit tough so 4star for the bacon. Cooks were great polite and very helpful so I will return. Thank you all 😁
S. B.
Great service (especially from Little Rich on the carvery) and great food
A. J.
Went to have a birthday meal for my sister with the rest of the family . The staff generally were friendly and efficient, but the two people serving on the carvery were surly and rude. The meal was good, it's a shame the experience was spoiled by two people who refused to be pleasant although treated with friendliness.
T. O.
Fab polite team great food excellent facilities
d. h.
Good food cheap prices and great friendly staff
M. C.
Very tasty food and lots of it with friendly staff. Some dodgy clientele but they can't choose them. I very much enjoyed my meal and couldn't fit a pudding in!
a. w.
Pleasant staff. Nice brekkie. Love the sossiges! Pity the tea isn't in bigger mugs!
d. w.
Alice was a lovely waitress. Food was great.
S. W.
The food is always great and so is the atmosphere.
I. M.
Exceeded our expectations
Really nice pudding too.
G. T.
had to rebook here at the last moment when the Harvester on Pride Park let us down ,this was my retirement breakfast. The Toby did not let us down so I would go again.
K. S.
Its just okay, mash potato is like wallpaper paste and the Yorkshire puddings are brown prawn crackers.
L. M.
This place could be amazing if they got the basics sorted, food should be hot not cold and dried out. Drinks were flat and server not interested, even asked how our meals were before we started eating, will not be rushing to return.
C. S.
Great service lovely atmosphere Great selection of lovely food
T. B.
Had to wait a short while for a table as we hadn't booked. Food lovely at a very reasonable price
S.
Ordered on uber eats...fast delivery although disappointed that when ordering you cant select what veg you want....you just get them all even if you don't like some ( found it very tedious picking out my carrots from the peas which i don't like) and no option to purchase extra gravy if wanted either. Food was hot and tasty when delivered though. will order again but did find it very expensive at nearly 12 quid a person on a sunday but only 7.50 ish in the week.....no offence toby but it looks and tastes the same no matter what day of the week its ordered....bit harsh almost doubling the price on a sunday don't you think
R. L.
Staff are always great. Clean restaurant.
Always a good Carvery with a great selection.
And the Yorkshire puddings, you have to have them.
J. m.
Took the misses was nice was busy for a wensday afternoon food was nice hot and fresh
G. B.
Fantastic breakfast great staff awesome place me and my wife go there everyday for breakfast
P.
Good pub back open for a big breakfast.
Walk in, pay, pick a seat, get your food in a big clean friendly pub not far from the city centre. Good start to the day!
j. t.
Food is very nice, plenty of choices to eat
J. H.
Value for money as always my favourite in Derby. Well done everyone 👏
C. C.

C. M.
Good atmosphere, great service. Thanks
D. B.
It was a bit slow service but well worth the wait when we finally got served carvery ordered pudding and drink after carvery but got drink just b4 leaving to go home
A. C.
Great meal and service the lady who looked after us all night was amazing from hss
K. H.
Awesome food awesome service.
Will be back.x
D. A.
The waitress was lovely very pleasant and welcoming and interactive with our 7 month old son which for me is a big thumbs up she got us a high chair before we had even got to the table
My wife used to work for Toby carvery and we do enjoy a carvery so she can be quite critical of tobys
Food was spot on all the deck was nice and full with fresh well turned over food rather than the dry scraps you find at some carverys
The meat was nice some bits were abit fatty but hey you can't ask for everything all the time
2 mid week standard carverys with 2 bottomless pepsis and a plate for the little lads veg just had to sacrifice a little of our meat for him but that's no problem for the amount he has
Was cheap at 20 quid and had a nice meal without the stress of prepping and cooking it
D. M.
Staff very friendly will be going again very good atmosphere
K. R.
Was okay. Vegetables a bit dried out so didn't look appetising. It doesn't make sense that you have to wait for waitress to bring over your carvery after you've picked what you want. Surely this, potentially, is another cross contamination risk and unnecessary extra work for waiting staff.
E. P.
Always a pleasure coming here. Excellent service all round. The staff are always friendly and polite. The food is always good. Everything is nice and clean.
M. R.
Good food but only 4 stars as we were left uncertain as to the procedure for getting our food. Luckily we heard other servers explain it to other diners, which ours didn't do
S. S.
Been a couple of times and had the beef. The meat was great both times - I couldn't fault it. The potatoes and veg were great the first time, but poor the second time. The second time we went there quite late though - about 9.30 - so I imagine that the food had been sitting on the hotplate for a long time.
If I go again, I will make sure it's early, when the food is more freshly cooked.
Overall it is still very good value though.
J. A.
Polite and friendly staff. Excellent customer service and a carvery to die for.
S. P.
Always enjoy going here friendly staff and good meal can never complain about anything, that's why I always go back time and time again.
A. C.
I recommend this restaurant because the service was excellent and the food was delicious.
M. B.
Good meal but somewhat marred by the really undercooked Yorkshire puds. Advised waiter and asked for some more, but these were undercooked also. Very poor for a toby.
M.
Had to stand and wait 5 minutes for hash browns without an apology or any communication at all. My table was cleared when I went for seconds which meant my drink was handed back to me from the bar after fingers being inside the glass instead of a fresh drink. The three stars are for the food being relatively good, especially for the price.
h. L.
Good service and roast meats were nice. Veg lacked flavour though and really let down by not having warmed the plates.
L. N.
Went for a family meal at Toby today, for reasons out of their control they had to shut their doors for the safety of staff we were locked inside for our safety too. I just wanted to say that I feel that the staff handled the situation really well and made sure we were well catered for. Having a disabled grand daughter they made a fuss of her too. Thank you for a great meal would definitely recommend this place. Food was soo nice service was spot on!! Xx
C. 1.
Service is great, the ladies are very helpful. It does get very busy. They do a help your- self breakfast (wish the bacon was crispy), can go up as many times as you like and have a varied selection of cooked breakfasts. At around 11:30 ish I think they start their carvery with a good selection of meats and vegetables. Replace empty bowls fairly quickly when it's all gone. Sometimes do kids eat for a £1 😊
J. S.
Went to toby carvery with a friend it was great had a good time had to wait an hour for food because of being busy but had the chance to have a good catch up so we didn't mind , food was great thanks guys xx
T. J.
It is very nice place to visit.
Clean and spacious. Very good service, really helping with the choice of meals.
I enjoyed excellent Sunday roast on Thursday :-)
Spacious parking on the side.
Seats out available. They are separated by lawn and wide sidewalk from not busy road. I can imagine that it is excellent place to eat outside in sunny day.
The pub section is separated from restaurant, but I can easily imagine large party over there where this two spaces are used together.
R. S.
The food and service were lovely only a bit tight on how much meat you were served. Unfortunately I had to give this place only 3 stars as it was so unbearably hot in there and the weather was so hot outside. There were no windows open and only a very small fan in the section I sat in to accommodate 8 - 10 tables in a long room. I suggest they invest in air conditioner units or at the very least ceiling fans. This did spoil my whole experience and must be unbearable for the poor staff who were sweating profusely.
N. C.
Food was very nice and all the staff are lovely the guy that helped us was a real gent thanks very much Toby carvery will definitely be back 👍
K. C.
A really great place to go to for a really great meal
J. M.
I find that carveries can be very hit or miss however Toby Carvery was absolutely a hit. The veg was a little lackluster but this is understandable being cooked in batches and kept under a hot light. The meat and other sides were fantastic. And mac and cheese with a roast? Genius! Will definitely return
N. W.
Food was lovely and staff were so helpful. They were really accommodating with me in my wheelchair. Would definitely go back.
h. j. b.
Now covid rules over queueing system appalling waired in que to be served not help yourself one cutting meet one serving took 20 minutes from standing in que to being served very hot standing near carvery on hot day wonder no one passed out
If stick to covid rules would have been served within 4 mins no waiting no queues.
Wont be going again too soon
D. L.
Great food good service.
o.
Very polite patient staff.... Good clean toilet change area for kids and great food cooked well and hot on the plate... Great place
M. V.
Would like roast parsnips to be add to the veg list on sundaý cavery and Brussels sprouts as well lovely meal myself and my boyfriend and his daughter emily
G. H.
Very busy (on a Sunday, as to be expected) staff were friendly and helpful. Good food as always, am sure there's been a wider selection of vegetables in the past (only peas, carrots & swede on offer today) but the food was tasty and hot with plenty available. Incredibly hot in the restaurant, made it a bit uncomfortable while eating.
p. j.
Once again too few staff on the carvery and kitchen to cope. Place not busy by any means but one person serving food and bless her she was doing her best but she was continually waiting for food from the kitchen to be delivered to the carvery.
A. B.
Friendly helpful staff, nice food
E. C. V.
A lovely place for Good hearty food at reasonable prices. You get a nice portion of meat and their ice cream is absolutely delicious. However, the dessert menu doesn't have a huge range and the service is very slow. Overall a nice play to go for a good old roast
D. H.
Food and Service was very good. The whole building looked very nice unfortunately some areas were looking a bit date and worn out and my biggest gripe was the men's room. They to looked clean however they did not smell nice at all and it wasn't because what a customer may of done it was just a very dirty smell like the old public toilets of the 70s in Derby city centre. Spoilt an otherwise very enjoyable time.
Didn't deserve 4 stars but would of gave 3.5 unfortunately couldn't so had be a 3 star. Please note this would not put me off eating here again.
p. f.
Quite a good experience the Yorkshire pudding wrap was tasty roasties quite tasty , I hsd a cookie dough sundae type thing as a sweet but found the icecream quite false and not too appetising , the server was excellent and attentive 🙂
l. a.
Lovely staff excellent service . Cheese cake to due for
m. d.
Save you doing the dishes
S.
Not as good as it used to be.
R. F. G.
We went here for breakfast which was okay. If quantity is your thing, then this is the place for you. However the quality is quite poor and overall the experience is mostly tasteless. Thankfully you can having lashings of brown sauce to …
P. C.
Great service from carman...cracking little worker
A. S.
Great food, excellent prices
h. L.
Good service and roast meats were nice. Veg lacked flavour though and really let down by not having warmed the plates.
M. R.
Good food but only 4 stars as we were left uncertain as to the procedure for getting our food. Luckily we heard other servers explain it to other diners, which ours didn't do
K. “. J.
Wonderful staff...especially Tracy our favourite waitress! She cannot do enough to help, iam disabled and she goes as far as to get my drink from the self service machine so I dont have to struggle with my crutches!!! Lovely food & the desserts, especially the arctic roll, are delicious!!!! Visit once a month every month with my Grandad & we wouldn't go anywhere else!!! A++++
J. o. K. M.
The food we received was good although the choice was limited as no salad available for some menu items. Room too hot with no ventilation. Service very slow. Too few staff waiting on tables.
l. b. m.
Very friendly staff and the carvery was excellent. If I am this way again I would definitely call in. Well done.!
N. L.
Good Carvery and pleasant surroundings, what's not to like. Fair prices too.
S. T.
Came here with friends last week Saturday morning and breakfast was nice for a change. I had given up as previous times it was horrid but friends really wanted me to come and i can say the breakfast has improved alot. Came here also on Wednesday with my daughter for carvery, food was good as usual but there was alot of fat on the meats other than that all good. Getting service is hard there wasnt many around so used their fast pay thing where u pay by phone. Was actually alot easier than expected and saved me waiting 10 mins to get a member of staff to give me the bill.
t. o. b.
£6.50 for as much as you can eat breakfast is very good value.
The staff were pleasant and efficient, and I loved the buffet style where you could have what you wanted.
Only complaint the bacon was a little bit undercooked for my liking.
L. B.
Very busy. Had to wait although table was pre-booked. Lamb was lovely. Beef disappointing. Neither meal very hot. Waitress very nice.
k. b.
Absolutely fantastic team here, the food was excellent as was the service
Having had bad service elsewhere it was great to be treated so well, would recommend to anyone staying nearby. 100% for everything and at £45 for 2 adults and a child great value too
J. C.
Very friendly and professional service. Great value for money. Great portion sizes. Great tasting food. High standard of cleanliness. Adhering to all covid19 guidelines. Highly recommended. Best Carvery in town.
R. G.
Called on way to East Midlands Airport. Booked table in advance. Excellent waitress with full Covid controls. Food was lovely and fresh and possibly best Toby i've been to for quality of food.
M. G.
A lovely roast dinner staff very friendly plenty of seating area will definitely be going again
J.
Nice carvery. The food was nice and served by a lovely lad who certainly had his work cut out.
Why oh why would you only have one member of the team carving when you have an absolutely full restaurant??
Even though we booked we waited 20 minutes to be served. At one point there were 29 people in the queue !! It did spoilt it for us.
We asked about NHS discount and an exceptionally friendly and helpful member of management was more than accommodating.
She went the extra mile ,it's a shame every restaurant doesn't have a Stephanie.😀
D. H.
Sunday in Aug 2020. Covid19 system in place and working well.
The carvery was good and the staff all very helpful and polite.
The down side, the place, it was just so damm hot. Sweating in line to get food, in the short time away my drink had gone from cold to cool bordering on warm. We ate up and left. People on other table said, when they asked about the heat were told they can't open windows because of covid19. Shame because everything else was good.
T. P.
Great service, staff are always friendly and helpful. Food... its a Toby, it's ALL good!
K. H.
Like warm food . Grotty toilets and dated decor its in desperate need of some TLC
The only saving grace is the staff
A. K.
Classic place to go for quick food that doesn't disappoint. I've been coming here since I was four and decades later I still go! Food is always hot, table service is great since the staff are so friendly and lively, and there's usually something a bit different each time you go. It can get busy but weekday evenings are generally a pretty good time to go.
W. B.
Friendly staff & good service. Veg was a little dry & not a massive choice but once covered on gravy, an enjoyable meal & great value for money on a Groupon deal. Slightly spoilt by a family with no volume control yawping to each other across the restaurant. Some people have no consideration for others & that's not the restaurants fault.
d. h.
We use to come here every week and never really had a bad experience. We always find the staff extremely helpful and polite (especially tracy). Unfortunately due to my wife's illness we are unable to go as much as we would like. The meat has always been of good quality so are the veg. We find it very welcoming and very inexpensive. In fact I'm almost on my 3rd FREE meal so it shows how many times we visit. If there is anything negative to say then if it's a nice day then normally very hot inside. Windows that open to let a breeze in would be welcoming and make for a more pleasant dining experience. On the whole I could not fault this place and if you download the app you get even more offers.
M. H.
A good time had by all and it does what it says on the tin. A carvery, reasonable prices and an overall product that fits for the family for a Sunday lunch
E. W.
The staff are always nice whenever my friend I visit and we always enjoy the food. I usually have turkey and beef with plenty of veg, especially cauliflour cheese! Their's is the best. It costs about £10 per person and that includes the bottomless soft drinks.
L. T.
Nice friendly staff, very helpful. Food was rather nice fair priced too.
A. b.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT SERVICE THE MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. 25,07,2019
Well been back today expecting a fantastic meal, it was not too be, don't get me wrong it was good but when the meat was cut it was like tracing paper he struggled to cut it so thin, and very small amount of meat, we must pass at least 6 pubs that do meals, I don't expect loads but more than we were given. We will try it again and see what happens next time. 27,07,2019
j. m.
The best carvery around. Well managed and with friendly helpful staff. We love it and are so pleased it is open once again.
A. K.
Great staff, food good
L. K.
Veg dry as aa bone mash not creamy best but was Yorkshire pudding ane the gravy.. Staff really friendly though
S. K.
Lovely carvery and lovely, helpful staff. Me and my 2 friends regularly eat there.
S. S.
Amazing place staff wonderful guy who was serving meat Mon 23rd did amazing even though could see was stressing
L. B.
Great carvery in a lovely atmosphere but don't assume you'll dine in the restaurant section just cos it says online that they're not busy, they were packed out with bookings when I went even though it said half empty. The bar area is still OK as long as you are a small group (up to 4)
A. W.
Attended here on Friday evening with a good friend of mine for an evening drink due to the weather being substantially warm and what an occasion to use their beer garden. It was great to see the Pope in full swing with people having dinner and drinking at one point the pub was running out of beer due to the amount of people looking for nice cold refreshments. It was a great evening with good company some people watching the football match.
The food was lovely and the Carveries Carvery or excellent fresh warm could not complain but we did not have any pudding after seeing the size of the cakes I don't think neither of us could fit them in.
m. B.
My two boys love to eat here, they hate veg at home but fill there plates when eating here especially the cauliflower cheese, and always go for seconds! So it's a win win for me as a mam! Great service and great wide range of beer for me as I do have a cheeky pint or two! Service is always impeccable and always make a fuss over us which Makes it worthwhile as my boys can be a bit of a nightmare sitting still! Give it a try you won't be disappointed I can promise you that,!!
J. W.
I went with a large group for download weekend and the pub were very accommodating. We had brealfast every morning and the food was ok. Sometimes a little overcooked but its expected when its cooked in bulk and left on a hot tray for self service. Overall a positive experience
D. B.
Arrived 10mins early for 7pm reservation, table ready at 7pm and had a great meal as usual. Our host was very friendly and helpful. We had the "grandparents offer" of a delicious sundae. Left at 9pm stuffed.
M. L.
I found the staff Very pleasant and the pub and restaurant well organised regarding social distancing etc service was very good we had the carvery and the food was delicious nicely cooked and hot i would certainly go again 👍
a. m.
Fantastic value for money, great menu choices as well as the well stocked carvery that is always to a high standard. The cooked buffet breakfast is also well worth trying ! The atmosphere is relaxed and very welcoming. The staff are lovely and very helpful and go above and beyond to accommodate customer's requirements. Well worth a visit !!
G. L.
Went for breakfast. Lovely team. All Covid secure and given adequate guidance of what to do when in the pub. Breakfast was fab. Thanks
C. A.
Enjoyed the meal, serving guy was nice, ladies waiting table were nice and worthy of their tip. Now you know first impressions count, right? Well the guy who greeted us had a face like a slapped bottom, not a smile or a greeting just walked us to where the ladies seated us. I had worked in customer facing jobs most of my life, and couldn't be like that.
Otherwise it would have been 5 out if 5
J. A. O.
One of the best ones I have ever been for this chain. Very good attention on a busy Sunday. Lamb offered on Sundays. Better range of vegetables than in the usual places. Would go again. Family of four with 12 and 5 year old children
C. M.
Pretty good carvery. Meat was a little on the dry side when I visited, but could just be a one off. Plenty of seating, friendly bar staff and generally a decent atmosphere. Car park was a little tight to get into.
A. S.
Great food, excellent prices
s. c.
We have enjoyed a delicious carvery this evening. The restaurant was sanitized between customers. Thank you to Louisa for her help with setting up the app.
H. H.
This is a great pub. The carvery is delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is great and they have a large outside area. They also have a very large big screen for football and cricket etc. I believe that there is also a function room at the back. Please bear in mind that this is on a very busy main road and there is no children's play area.
S. M.
Very friendly staff member behind carvery counter. Fast service and nice outside seating.
L. R.
Had a great carvery and went back for breakfast. Great service and food.
m. L.
First time we have been since lockdown food is great staff very professional and friendly especially the tall chap at the front of house very friendly very professional I would highly recommended this establishment
D. V.
Brilliant service and quality food
W. B.
Lovely staff grwt food
j. h.
Food is good, just think that the prices are steep for a plate of veg.
A. G.
Superb breakfast and got very busy by 9.30. Good to see all items well cooked. Did seem to keep running out of eggs; seems they only do 6 at a time.
Pleasant and efficient staff.
Could not fault it tbh.
S. N.
Sunday very busy, best to book, excellent food both meat and good selection vegitian.
Service was a bit slow but to a great welcoming standard.
Flat car park, full wheel chair accessable, staff very kind and helpful to senior and disabled people.
A lovely meal.
Looking forward to next visit
D. W.
Nice dinner and drinks I would go there again really recommend it.
A. R.
Excellent meal very tasty, perfectly cooked meats, vegetables perfectly cooked and hot. Beautiful gravy can't go wrong for £3.00 with offer. Have been a few times definitely going back again .
C. M.
Lovely food, fantastic staff
A. K.
Fast and friendly service. Gorgeous grub. Beef though was fatty, which is an issue with all carveries. Love gravies and veg choice. Some roasties were tough but others crispy and soft in middle. Handy for lidl. I travelled on bus from Nottingham and felt stuffed when I left.
A. O.
Good food nice people will be going again.
M. E.
Does what it says on the tin, a decent carvery is served and you never leave hungry.
The drink selection is good and nothing is too expensive.
Overall for a local pub in Chaddesden its good to have it as an option to visit.
J. S.
Had a nice carvery with nice staff. Booked table online an hour before we wanted to eat, was still given a nice table and they were expecting us. They were very friendly and there was no wait at the carvery. Food was good, and by using the website/app can often get vouchers/discount codes which make it good value.
G. B.
8 children 12 adults all had carvery. Food was good service was excellent staff were more than helpful even down to hiding my birthday cake. had a great night. will defentily be back.
l.
My first time here for Calvary tonight. Came with a friend and our 2 children and will definitely be back again! Waitress who served us was lovely and very helpful, especially as my fiends little girl was unwell. Big thumbs up from us 👍
L. S.
Our second meal here, 1st time we were left half an hour waiting to have waitress take my veggie option, then the kitchen forgot it! They did knock it off bill, very nice surprise. Today had excellent service, lovely meals plenty of attention, perhaps they recognized us!
C. P.
Good menus and helpful staff. The food is excellent with a great choice of meat and vegetables to choose from which change from visit to visit. Christmas bookings are available for family or work groups. Surrounding area is a little run down and it is pretty close to the main road but still good access in and out.
Added bonus: you can now go online and book a table at this resturant which I found really useful and will be utilising again in the future.
M. M.
Food was alright not bad quality/price, but the service was just shockingly bad, the waiting stuff has just been lazy and looked like they were annoyed every time you ask them anything.. we've waited ages for the drinks and ages to pay.
M. T.
Unlimited breakfast for £4.49 what more do you want
J. H.
It's a hit and miss experience, sometimes the service can be excellent, and sometimes not. One time we asked for drinks and went up for the carvery but we didn't receive our drinks until after we had finished our meals. Other times they are really speedy. Like I said, hit and miss. The worst member of staff for forgetting about us is Tina, sorry Tina.
D. T.
Was great to go back and try there breakfast carvery must say really enjoyed it but unfortunately the bacon was slightly over done for my liking.
The staff all seemed nice and friendly and the place was clean and tidy .
D. W.
Absolutely lovely, really nice staff, it's the first time I've been out to eat since everything has opened up, was not disappointed at all it was really good, thank you
J. H.
I had a lovely experience at Toby Carvery there is EVEN MORE range of potato and vegetables using different ways of cooking them. The sage and caramelized onion mash was DELICIOUS! .. however I really miss them making Onion Sauce! As do many of my family and friends.
A. G.
Always a very good meal. Veg on carvery brilliant. Maybe Sunday lunch not the best time to go as incredibly busy but then, what else do you want on a Sunday but a roast dinner!
L. S.
When we arrived we were seated quickly. It was just after 7.00pm, not busy and we were looking forward to a good carvery. We ordered drinks and later went over to get our meal. We had been told there was no pork so we opted for turkey and beef. That was a mistake as we soon found to our cost the beef was fatty, chewy and seemingly a poor quality cut! Fortunately, the turkey was good. Now, how long had the vegetables been on display? There was a good choice as you expect with Toby, but it all looked a bit tired. The handles at the back were so hot it was impossible to pick up. Many dishes were dried and unappetising and it was clear they had been left heated for too long. The roast potatoes looked OK, but on eating we found the skins very hard and simply over cooked. All a little bit cremated! Mash and other veg were alright. The beef was a massive let down and overall we felt the meal was poor based on previous visits. There was a hand over of waiting staff later and we gave our desert order to another waitress. It never came and in the end, with no one coming to our table, we gave up and went to pay our bill. It was a further wait to achieve this simple operation! Our desert then turned up - but too late we were ready to leave. We commented on the poor quality of the carvery, but sadly there was no apologies or acknowledgement of our concerns. On leaving the last comment was 'see you again' as if everything was perfect. Strange really. Others were waiting to pay and leave - they also commented on the fatty, chewy, beef and similar concerns to ours. So, a most unsatisfactory visit to Chaddesden Toby Carvery. It happens of course, but at least some apology would have made it just that bit easier to deal with.
J. S.
£6 All you can eat Full English breakfast, cant beat it!
j. b. b.
Very nice place , enjoyed a really nice meal , called allotment pie , with vegetables and my partner has a carvery , both meals was perfect , the people that served us was very good , very kind , and made us feel very welcome , have no complaints , and the place was very clean , thank you for giving me and my partner a lovely meal
L. C.
We went for the Boxing Day carvery. Our table was a xmas layout with crackers, hats etc. Beautiful meal (I chose traditional turkey + trimmings and my partner tucked into roast lamb) with great service but again, the meal was only moderately warm and plates not hot at all. The atmosphere was jolly all over of people having good food Ang fun with their families.
J. G.
It's a lvly carvery, atmosphere is relaxed. Service is excellent.
P. E.
Usually once a month come for breakfast before a long walk in the peaks. Service is always excellent and friendly atmosphere 8am or 10am no matter how early or late. Some times there's a bit of a wait for fried eggs but on the whole it's cracking. The fairly recent addition of porridge is also a bit plus particularly on winter mornings.
M. P.
Staff are always friendly here, come here regularly would definitely recommend
M. G.
Very inexpensive here. The core offering is good. The meat is cooked very well, but the veg is a little lackluster. The small starters are very good value, but not amazing. Friendly staff though.
J. W.
Good Sunday carvery with a lot of choices. Very efficient staff. It was very busy with families but they sat us in the area were there was an adult contingent so a nice quiet time was had by all
T. R.
The quality of Breakfast varies from being very good to being quite mediocre. I would heartily recommend their Carvery.
A. N.
I must apologise, on my last review I said why go anywhere else when the Toby at Chadd offers everything you need for a relaxed family meal. Well we went elsewhere and although the meals and establishments weren't bad we had niggling problems, so we thought we need to go back to the Toby. Tranquility has been restored, the carvery was fresh and hot with a good selection of vegetables, so we all got to pick something we liked, (fussy grandson) and the staff were as friendly and courteous as ever. So maybe sometimes you need to try elsewhere just to remind yourself of why you always go back to the Toby at Chadd.
D. H.
Good carvery with friendly staff, well worth a visit for the price and atmosphere. They do more than carverys such as a morning breakfast that is scrumptiously good. Check that Derby County football club are not playing as the car park gets full up
W. G.
4.5 🌟 dinner was very nice. Doombar was a bit flat, apple crumble was cold in the middle. They did replace it with a hot one, and took it off the bill. Very good service and friendly staff.
j. h.
I started using the carvery a few weeks ago for breakfast and was so impressed I've been again this morning and I shall probably go Saturday morning too, the place is clean, tidy and peaceful.
The food is excellent with a good variety and good value.
M. G.
Lovely food which is a good price. We will always go for the Carvery but other food always looks nice too. Its often quite busy to booking in advance would be advised!
P. O.
A lady named Tina was exceptionally good with her service to our group of diners. The carvery was delicious. The only thing that was wrong was no air conditioning
J. M.
Busy place but lots of parking. Good food, reasonable prices and nice staff!
D. W.
Excellent place for drinks and food great staff and friendly people
J. B.
Carvery delicious , staff lovely
My only issues is the room is too hot so I felt rushed eating and I didn't have a pud due to heat
Need ventilation
A. M. C.
Went there yesterday for breakfast pleasantly surprised never had yorkies and gravy for breakie before very nice . The potato mix was a bit over cooked . toast took ages but a o liked it . plus bonus with 33% staff discount x
P. D.
Ok. Nothing special. It's located in a local residential area, so it's a local pub and Sunday lunch haunt. Very hot inside, found it quite messy, noisy, lots of kids running around whilst mum gets drunk. Food: nice, but wouldn't go again.
Z. K.
Nice cosy place with very friendly staff
C. E.
Lovely meal chef ensured food was fresh and we'll stocked.Staff were very busy could have done with more staff on duty however very polite and quick service.But...When I came to use the voucher I was sent via email it appeared it was only on food not drinks most disappointed that I was unable to use it as it expires after 28 days.So ...big tip to everyone read the small print in these offers so your not disappointed too.
J. B.
Very nice food and service
H. A.
Excellent food and quick service
D. M.
Went on Sunday 12th for s carvery the food was excellent shame we had to wait for so long as it was so busy this wasnt down to the staff just the volume of people on the place.
Peak time is very busy but to be honest it was worth the wait and the staff were lovely.
Thanks guys see you again.
M. C.
Excellent breakfast for 20 at short notice, facilitated by Tracey who was very efficient.
B. S.
We use the Chaddesden carvery regularly, in a group of four to ten people, not once have we been disappointed I have the meatless carvery, there is always a good choice of vegetables beautifully cooked, and my friends always remark on the meat being excellent. I'd recommend it any time.,
A. M.
Excellent food, great service!
Covid measures in place and very well executed giving confidence. Lovely and clean. Thank you.
s. p.
The food was typical Toby standard and staff were lovely but unfortunately it was far too warm in there, all the windows are painted shut! would hate to go on a hot summers day.
We saw one man pass out it was so warm.
J. F.
Typical carvery the meat was pretty good the staff were overworked and understaffed they forgot our starter which arrived after we had finished the main. Wish the place had air conditioning was so so hot inside overall a decent carvery
L. N.
Very good food overall although cauliflower and cabbage a little undercooked for my liking. Great table service.
m. h.
Rammed as Dcfc playin fickle florest but brill service an blonde haired lass still remembered round bought 4hours before, be back soon
T. C.
The quality of the food was very good value. the staff were very helpful and professional. The premises were very clean. seven of us really enjoyed ourselves. its a great place to go
A. D.
Great staff and always a warm welcome. Always like to treat my mates to a huge breakfast when I can or the family to a lovely roast. Definitely a great place to eat
A. B.
Brilliant carvery. There are at least 4 meats to choose from. The Yorkshire puddings are huge and a great choice of vegetables. Be aware of the refillable soft drinks as unless you keep topping up are expensive.
f. b.
Doing there best in the present
situation ,food enjoyable I like the addition of the fish to the menu
S. G.
Good food but busy at 18:00 on a Sunday
M. D.
Had a lovely breakfast there this morning with the added entertainment of 'Karen' kicking off because an oven had broken down and she had to wait 5 minutes for a sausage
L. A.
I have been here for all you can eat breakfast & had the carvery before too..although the meat was cooked to perfection the veg selection was weird and sparse,no stuffing & yorkshire were to overdone for my liking..breakfast is total hit & miss & have a lady chef who is full if attitude with ni customer servuce at all. Decent prices though.
T. H.
Great breakfast. Uncle Albert thought the sausage was cremated although I didn't mind that. Eddie agrees with me and we would return the staff we're very helpful
M.
Seems extremely busy on sundays but otherwise a great experience and great food
m. y.
Lovely food specially Sundays 😋
M. C.
No breakfast bar for cornflakes, fruit ect but you can eat as much as you like. The main problem are the eggs they often hard and rubbery or there aren't any but there o.k. if you get them as they come out. All in all standards have slipped over the years. This is why I'm a very infrequent visitor.
L. D.
Food wad great 👍
p. l. m.
Beautiful meal by a gud friend bought us
G.
Always friendly staff and good prices on food and drinks, me and my uncle's drink in here once a week and I can honestly say I've never had anything bad to say about the place.
G. C.

Lovely lunch and friendly service.

The breakfast (I find) tends to fare better than the Carvery (and other Mains).
Tracey who is usually on in the morning when I visit deserves a special mention for being professional, friendly and welcoming.
This Carvery can be hit and miss.

We enjoy this place everytime we come in. Tasty carvery and so filling at the same time. They do offers occasionally and have a handy app that you can earn rewards on.

Food is of decent quality. Staff were friendly. Queues can get very long at busy times, but they do move fairly quickly.

Love their carvery but I don't like how you your not allowed to serve yourself since covid. Takes the fun out of it.

As with all Toby Carverys, a solid British roast. On the odd occasion, the meat can be under par, but usually reliable. Reasonable prices, especially midweek.

Great veg selection and meats available, service with a smile and everything looked clean. Food tastes great and at reasonable price. Will visit again

Food was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive, but it was mega busy on Sunday with a very long queue for food, so if you go on a Sunday give yourself plenty of time

I like Toby carvery pubs. Nice staff and nice food. Suggestion: book in advance, they are very busy places, otherwise you may have to wait a while.

Very friendly team and approachable. Must visit.

Decent enough breakfast for the price. Beans a bit watery and no scrambled eggs

It was pleasant , the food was , as expected good and well prepared . I think they are short staffed because the service was slower than on the others I've been to . All told very good . Sharpen your eating teeth and go there .

Lovely staff, always a different variety on the carvery its self. Good food. Nice atmosphere.
