Have been here several times. When friends and family come to visit I have taken them here and it has always been a hit. The Cafe is not too big but it is really nicely decorated. The staff are really nice and the food delicious. The crepes and pancakes are very tasty, and I personally also enjoyed the hot chocolate. It is not the best place if you have dietary requirements, however the fruit fondue is vegan friendly, and also very tasty. Great place!

This is a gem! 🥰 We stumbled upon this place by accident and I'm so glad! The portions are huuuge and the waffles are amazing and under 10 pounds. The coffee is great too. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend it and will be back when I'm in Edinburgh next time!

Not sure about some of the negative reviews on here. No issues when we visited today. It was not to busy so no waiting, we we're shown to a table once we had checked in on track and trace. A young lady took our order and repeated it back to confirm what we wanted. There was a short wait for our order to arrive but this is to be expected when food is prepared to order. No disappointment with what we ordered it not only looked good but tasted delicious. Just need to walk a few more miles to burn it off. Would definitely recommend you try this place and then make your own mind up. We were certainly impressed and will return when we visit the city again.

Stopped here for a quick bite and hot drink, we ordered the crepe and cookie dough desserts. Both desserts were great, tasty and the portion size was really good, neither tasted heavy or sickly which I find you can get with some dessert places. Word for warning a 10% service charge is added and this only displayed on the card machine when you pay at the end and this was not actually stated on the receipt with the total.

Wonderful experience at a dessert cafe where the desserts were very well balanced. The dishes were well presented and nothing we had felt like it was too sweet or too rich yet it provided that fulfilling feeling that one only gets from desserts. I can definitely recommend the pizza crepe!!

We originally walked in a day before our visit (which was Sunday) and assumed we could find a seat but the place was pre booked and they couldn't offer us a seat - which is fine but I went online and could book a table so their systems on the day / evening I don't think update so I would definitely make a pre-booking for next day and wouldn't trust making a booking online the same day without confirming with the restaurant. We went back the next day and had a pleasant experience. I can't say the desserts are anything amazing or special but I am comparing to what I'm used to in London and Manchester. But it was good, for a dessert place in Edinburgh where you're limited to other options it's the best. The pancakes were so soft! The crepe was a little difficult to cut through but I think I blame the knives. They had a kids menu which I'm really impressed with rather than having to buy a huge adults portion the kids size was perfect and price was really good!

Looking for about an hour for a coffee/cake shop but everything closes at 5pm. Finally we got to this place which surprisingly was open, and what e great discovery! A great menu of delicious cakes, pancakes, waffle and drinks for afternoon stop. I had a nice cappuccino and cake. Everything beautifully presented 👍

Cannot fault the experience, friendly staff, tasty food - see pics. However, the shop was busy and they mixed-up an item on our order. This could have been avoided by the waitress repeating the order back to us (which I thought they did)! But the mixed up item was nice, so we kept it and finished it off. Overall, a good place for family friendly indulgent desserts.

Came across this place while visiting my Sister and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely, staff were great and the desserts were amazing. Julian was professional, very knowledgeable and friendly and was helpful with our requirements. Had someone who was gluten intolerant and another dairy intolerant and they were able to accommodate for both easily. Hats off to you guys, you're doing a great job, keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you again soon

Food is great, and the service is so quick, even when they are busy. Ordered a latte and tea, latte was made very well. Then we got crepes and pancakes (smothered in goodness). Would recommend anyone to go here, good selection. Only downside, table is always sticky, even after being cleaned.

Coro is one of my favourite cafes. Its been closed for so long but its now open again! The milkshakes are as good as ever and lord the waffles mmmm... Make a reservation cause it'll probably super busy. Because of that the wait times for food and service might be a little long but 100% worth the wait. Kudos to the lovely staff though, who were super nice on our visit today!

Just spent an hour at Coro enjoying delicious bubble waffles with chocolate, Berry fruit & ice cream. The service was fast and fine. Only disappointment was the atmosphere as a large family spread across 3 tables sitting opposite us were extremely loud, so we couldn't hear each other speak and they were wandering around the cafe without masks on.

Removed a star as we had to wait quite a long time for our group to be seated despite having more space in the back (was told that they did not have enough staff to seat us in the back so we waited 20+ minutes) and overall service was lukewarm.

Excellent place for desserts. We were visiting Edinburgh for a holiday and went there a few times. Everyone is following covid-19 guidelines, cleaning tables and seats very thoroughly amd wearing masks. The staff is great, very friendly and welcoming. Amd what can i say about the food! Their waffles are one of the best I've ever had! Highly recommend the caramel and shortbread bubble waffle!

When I saw there was a chocolate cafe, I knew I had to go! The decor is nice and simple and compliments the theme. I had the caramel shortbread 2 waffle and it was very tasty and glad I didn't go for 4 waffles as it would have been too much. Also had the butterscotch hot chocolate which was ok - nothing that I couldn't make at home. This place is worth a visit but what was the most disappointing part is the menus. To the manager - please can you get rid of the menus and replace them with new ones - they are not nice to order from as they are worn and feel dirty.

Advice below! Food was absolutely incredible. Prices are very reasonable and the food is filling - some dessert places have tiny little desserts that leave you hungrier than you were initially, but this is not one of them. I LOVED the banana split waffles. The cookie doughs were good, but honestly, (ADVICE:) I also bought the normal cookie dough (without any sauces or toppings or anything) and it was warm, gooey, and even more delicious than the ones with the toppings. The raspberry cookie dough was fantastic though. The cheesecake was pretty good as well, though not quite as rich and dense as I'd expect. Four stars instead of five because the wait was really long (we went at 8:30pm on a Saturday) and the bathrooms were surprisingly unmaintained (water and hair all over the floor, generally kind of unpleasant though not in a germy way).

I came here with my daughter who is 4. The menu is so good, so many options to pick from. I chose the bubble waffle with Nutella and Strawberry and my daughter had the kids chocolate pancakes and hot chocolate. So delicious. A couple of things I would advise is that the girls that work their seem young and have no clue what they’re doing they all were running about chaotic with confused expressions so maybe more training is needed, our waitress however was lovely :) the place also needs a good clean.. it did feel a bit dirty and our table was ridiculously sticky!!

By far THE best dessert place i have been to. Even though we got lost and turned up late haha. Came up to visit Edinburgh from down south was told by locals to give coro's a try if we had a sweet craving and they did not disappoint. Bald guy who works there (no offence by the comment just didnt catch your name lol) Really friendly and professional whole staff were amazing even the "water boy" 😄 , a proper old school family vibe business with chocolate that tastes like actual chocolate, Its a real rare find and one i would happily revisit if i ever pass this way. If you have a sweet tooth and looking for chocolate, this is your place. They have wide range of waffles, crepes, bubble waffles, cakes. You can choose to either have four or two waffles. A lot of shakes, hot chocolate, cappuccino. Basically chocolate heaven. Easy central location. Have steps to it. No wheelchair access. Prices are Okey. You have to wait to be seated. I would definitely recommend it for chocolate overdose.

This place is a dessert lovers dream! The menu was big enough that you felt like you had options, but not too big that you felt like they’d do a mediocre job. You get A LOT of food for the money you pay. Our group had an early lunch and skipped dinner just to come here and it was WELL worth it. The dessert cafe’s I’ve been to in the past seemed dingy and unkept. Coro was much different and was brightly lit and very tidy. Overall, I’d say this is well worth the money and calories!

If you like chocolate, look no further! There are SO many different things on the menu to choose from that it should be illegal!! The cafe itself is a decent size and can accommodate groups of people! You do have to climb a small set of steps to get up into the cafe however! Whether you just want a cup of hot chocolate or a waffle drizzled in chocolate, this is definitely the place for you! I chose to have the fruit fondue, which I really recommend! (It’s in the photo) A large selection of fruit as well as a couple of marshmallows with your choice of melted chocolate fondue (I chose dark chocolate!) The milkshakes are also really great and I recommend those! I will have to make another visit to try other items on the menu as it all looks so tasty!

While the food was very good, it was incredibly busy. The staff were trying, but they seemed to need more help. The store seemed a bit run down. However, once we got our food, it was delicious. I'm not sure if I would go to this particular Coro again, but I have been to the one in Glasgow and really enjoyed it. They have a wide variety of dessert options (and several good gluten-free choices which can be hard to find). It was easy to create my own dessert.

Waffles to die for! All freshly cooked to order in an open kitchen. The staff were lovely and attentive. Even if there isn't something on the menu that takes your fancy, you can 'build your own' and even have one with just fruit. They also do coffee and hot chocolate which is equally good.

My friend took me to this place because it was one of his favourite Dessert places to go so I thought I would give it a try. Honestly speaking their desserts are absoloutely delicious to eat! Everything is so delicious! I have ordered the creped and hot chocolate many times before and they never fail to dissapoint. They are also open until 10pm which is so great. Great place to hang with friends or to even study. Be aware that if you request extra chocolate on top of something they charge you £2!! My friend was not told this and had to pay £8 for a crepe which was ridiculous we did tell the waiter and he made up for this but just so you are aware.

My partner and I chose to go to Coro Chocolate Cafe for breakfast. We both ordered their pancakes with fruits and chocolate sauce. Overall, it was very filling as you get 4 massive pancakes but there was just something that I can't exactly pinpoint that wasn't quite right... Perhaps because the sauce was only drizzled on the top pancake, by the time I got to the bottom, the pancakes were rather tasteless and dry...

If you want to overdose on chocolate, this is the place to go. Just be prepared for the resultant sugar rush & incurring the wrath of your dentist. The only negative about our visit was being asked if we were ready to pay as soon as one of us had finished (the other was still eating). There were lots of empty tables, but we felt like we were being rushed out & no longer welcome. So don't overdo the chocolate on your visit - you may get very little time to burp quietly & loosen that belt a notch or three before they're hinting that it's time to settle up & leave.

The dessert it self was good i have no complaints there However, the service needed some looking into , as it wasn't very smooth. Also, this was a sunday i visited Coro. Seeing the image below of the cleaning chart it is either they are ahead of themselfs on the cleaning or just never bother cleaning the toilets at all, and looking at the build up of grime in the sinks i would put good money it being the second. This place can be soo much better if the above issues are fixed.

The place was full but we were greeted by the friendly staff and wonderful smell of chocolate in the air! As a chocolate-lover, I was very excited when I found out about this cafe. I went in with high expectations and was not disappointed. I wandered in with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon. The cafe was packed and I could tell the waiters were stressed. However, we were promptly given our menus and water. There is a lot to choose from, with options ranging from crepes, waffles and cookie dough to toasties and savoury galettes. The waitress took our orders, and we waited. We waited for a while, and that's an understatement. It was around 30 minutes until our food came which was rather annoying. However, it was worth it. I had ordered belgian waffles with nutella and strawberries. The waffles were light and fluffy, the strawberries sweet. When our cookie dough arrived, my expectations continued to be exceeded. It arrived in a small bowl, but I could barely finish it! It was very rich but delicious. This place is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth- I would especially recommend it for families or groups of young friends. However, I suggest you go when it's not too busy- perhaps a weeknight.

I went there with friends sometimes because it close to us. Food & dessert are tasty, good quality and fast serving. But I rate them 4* because; - staff are friendly when you arrive. But after meal, I can feel that they try to pressure us to check, sometime they bring us a bill with no asking (both of these situation they were not busy. We could saw they had 3-4 empty tables). - The tables for 2 people are a bit small and quite tight. The worse for me is the first table at a middle raw from the entrance door. Because staff and all customers at this area have to walk through this table all the time. This is so annoying me. Because when people walk pass, sometime their shoulder bag or carry bag hit on my shoulder or even my head, better to move this table away.

We ordered the Cookie Jar Waffle here on a Thursday evening (around 6pm) and got right in, no reservations needed. It cost us about 9 GBP and came with generous swirls of caramel sauce, hot fudge, white hot fudge, and toffee, as well as cookie crumbles of every imaginable variety and a middling vanilla gelato. The experience was good overall -- the store has a nice ambiance and smells immediately of chocolate once you walk in, and the waffle was nice and soft, although a bit bland. Service was friendly and quick as well. I would say it wasn't a mind-blowing dessert and while the portion justified the price, the taste did not -- I've had much better chocolate-sinful desserts at places like Max Brenner, etc. Still, a great place to take a break during your day out shopping in Edinburgh!

And when they do look towards the customers they seem to only look for the "flag" on the table that they remove after they check on the customer once. If you want help after the flag has been removed, you need to wait until a staff member walks past you, or go up to the register yourself. I will definitely be back though, as the chocolate is superb, I just wish the service was better

Absolutely fantastic service. We visited as a family of 5 and were seated with space for the buggy if needed. We placed our order and I hardly had time to nip to the toilet and back when we were served. The food was amazing, we split a portion of pancakes between our 2 youngest and the waitress actually offered to put them on separate plates for us but both has just as much chocolate and banana as the full portion. I honestly couldn't fault this place and the kids were already asking when we could come back before we left. Fantastic value for money and to be honest they could charge more, I would have been more than happy to pay more and expected to pay more.
