On 13th May, my wife and I visited to this cafe at Hotel Chocolate. It was very comfortable cafe. And the Hot Cocoa was very good. And all staffs were very friendly and very kind. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

So after watching the documentary for Hotel Chocolat, we thought we would try the cafe in one of the shops. We are in Edinburgh so tried the Mint Hot Chocolat and a 50% Milk Chocolat Latte with a cocoa whip. It was sooooo tasty and I think it will have to become a regular thing whenever we visit a Hotel Chocolat Shop 🥰☕🍫

Nice range of chocolates, also a wee selection of drinks and cosmetics. Hot chocolates are a bit disappointing though as they lack the thickness. The texture is more like a cocoa than melted chocolate. Unfortunately same applies to most hot chocolates in UK...

Went in just to have a look at chocolates but noticed the little cafe area in the back. The hot chocolate here is quite special and well worth trying. The staff were extremely friendly, and willing to help out however they could. Definitely will be going back.

My favourite Hotel Chocolat. This is a lovely old building which has a real ambiance. Lynn and the team run a fantastic store and are incredibly friendly and helpful. They are a credit to a fantastic company selling fantastic products.

The store itself is great but I went in to use its cafe at the back. I have been here a couple of times and the drinks can be inconsistent depending on which staff member makes them. There were issues with the card machines but the staff felt with it well and a solution was quickly found. Only other negative was that there were only two staff on and only one of them was trained to make the drinks in the cafe.... And she was out the back, leading to a longer wait, again, not the end of the world but like the inconsistencies in the drinks this could be solved with more thorough training.

The waiter is very nice and kind. I'm a foreigner and I can see the quality of British gentleman on him. Similar prices to Starbucks, but you can have definetely wonderful and better experience there！They have everything you may want, all kinds of coffee and hot chocolate. Some of the chocolates are expensive, but that's due to the nice and beautiful package. Anyway, Hotel Chocolat is a wonderful place to spend your lovely afternoon time and an excellent place to select beautiful gifts for friends！

The chocolate is pricey but good and the chocolate Cafe in the back is absolutely wonderful. The hot chocolate there is super indulgent and the brownies are amazing! They had a variety of seasonal options which were very nice. Great for a little treat it as a place to seek refuge when princes street gets too busy.

I go to this shop quite a lot and the staff are always lovely. Best customer service I have had was from Jacky who went above and beyond the other day which included helping me choose what chocolates to buy and then being totally wonderful when I spilt half my shopping over their floor. Thank you for being amazing. Hot chocolates there are also delicious as per previous reviews. Highly recommend.

What I love about Hotel Chocolat is the huge variety, as well as the super friendly staff who tend to be very generous with the samples! They have such an innovative range of chocolate combining really interesting flavours. Today, for instance, I had the gin, elderflower and cucumber chocolate! Their chocolates cone in all shapes and sizes (and prices) and they also have wines and ports that pair well with chocolates. Their port that goes with milk chocolate was delicious! They also have a neat home cooking items and I bought some chocolate pasta that I am excited about trying! The best-kept secret about this place is that they have an amazing cafe area in the back. Their drinkable chocolate is to die for! I was surprised by how good the chili drinkable chocolate was, too, but I think the classic one is my favourite. I need to come back to try their mocha and other coffees!

I love this shop. Beautiful chocolate staff know there product. I went to a chocolate tasting it was very good. The history of the bean how its processed . It was really good a glass of prosecco that goes with the chocolate £10 for the ticket but you get a £10 voucher to spend in the shop

Shop was bonkers busy and there was only one person working but she was brilliant. Touching base with everyone who came in, offering samples, smiling. You’d have forgiven her if she was in a mad panic. Anyhow we bought some pralines and they were top.

The cafe closes an hour earlier than the shop which is very inconvenient and they don’t write that anywhere. I think they don’t position themselves as a cafe, more like a shop, they’d be happy to have no cafe at all, it seems to be a burden for the staff. No snacks or desserts on the menu (even though it’s something you would expect), just several types of hot chocolate. The latter is good. To sum up, it’s perfect for afternoon hot chocolate, but then again, they close so early.

This place is simply awesome. The shop has some of the best chocolates around. The staff are friendly and they usually have a sample or two on hand for you to try. If you can make it past the front of the shop to the coffee bar at the back as well as the standard coffees and as you would expect seriously high quality hot chocolate they do brew cacao nibs which is an interesting alternative to coffee

Whilst I love the range and quality of the chocolate from this company adding 'cafes' should have been a bit more selective. They've just crammed too many seats into the back of the shop and the prices are a bit on the steep side. You want to be able to relax with a coffee not feel cramped into a tiny space. Shame, could have been so much better.

The cafe is hidden at the back of the shop making it a fairly quiet place to sit considering the general business of the surroundings. Really nice cakes and good coffee. The hot chocolate is out of this world, it is more like drinking liquid chocolate.

Hotel chocolat is a luxury chocolate company with many of the stores opening their own cafes. This branch on Frederick Street has a small cafe area at the back and serves sit in and takeaway. The shop is very friendly, warm and inviting and the staff always have samples on offer. The staff are very helpful and polite. The chocolates are exquisite and there is such a variety of flavours your bound to find something, or many things, to your taste. A great place to grab a mid shop hot chocolate or just to stock up on treats. Brilliant.

Amazing shop offering delicious chocolates of all sorts and shapes. I like that you can buy fancy boxes to offer your loved ones and normal plastic containers to treat yourself everyday for a smaller budget. My favorite cafe if we speak about hot chocolate and coffees. Why is not opem till 7pm? Shaaaame but well im probably the only one working till late 6pm so I can very rarely let myself for this amazing taste of chocolate whiped cream. Regret if you didnt try it. Ice cream? From 1 to 10 I have to say im giving them 8. They are good but hot chocolate is 10 of 10!!

As a chocoholic you can't avoid to visit this place. I pampered myself with a hazelnut hot chocolate with cocoa whip and a brownie at the small and intimate café in the back of the shop. Indulgent. Bliss and utterly delicious chocolate is served (and sold) in this tiny shop which has a cafe area. The shop it just a wonder to walk around, a touch on the expensive side but this is when it really rings true that you pay for what you get, top quality chocolate. From chocolate pasta, to postcards, to vegan chocolate and of course plenty of chocolate boxes. The choice is yours. I personally am in love with the little cafe, i do find it a bit to small and the fact that there is no toilet is a downside for me (although i could be wrong here since i didn't actually ask just couldn't see any obvious doors leading to one :p) but the cocoa coffee served is something els. It can not be described to perfection... Not hot chocolate as it has a dark bitter twinge to it and feels almost like a coffee shot but smoother and creamier and trust me, it gets those endorphin's running high. Great place to get a takeaway cocoa coffee from whilst indulging in a bit of a chocolate taster or two ;)

However, although there is a little bit of price, it seems to be appropriate if you think about giving chocolate together with form. Somewhat dumb to say Godiva backwards compatible?
