I visited Gelato Village yesterday with my partner. We were greeted by two lovely and friendly members of staff. We ordered the delicious affogatos and we asked for advice as to what flavours would be a good match. The staff were incredibly helpful and insightful, offering us the opportunity to give the wide range of options a taste beforehand. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back for more yummy gelato!

Has to be the best ice-cream in the east Midlands. It's really as good as if you were in Italy! I'm yet to have a disappointing flavour and the flavours available regularly change. As well as the ice-cream I think it's also the best espresso you can find in Italy. So I'd really recommend the afogato to combine both!

Closest you will get Italian ice cream in the Midlands, me and my wife have been driving to Leicester from Nottingham for years just to come here! As nothing comes close where we live. My only negative feedback is that they don't have a shop in Nottingham, which they should as they would make a fortune! If you want to eat ice cream as it should be eaten, this is the place to go!

I think it’s ok to give someone couple of plastic spoons if they have spent nearly £40 for gelato. I was surprised to hear “we don’t give plastic spoons for takeaways orders”. I just smiled and left but I think you are very wrong.

We visit here every time we come to Leicester, as a vegan there is a lot on offer with the sorbetto's, they also follow the seasons with their flavours so this time I spoilt myself TWICE with chocolate, blackberry and fig in a cone, amazing - amazing - amazing! Great incentive on their loyalty cards with milestones of coffee, cones, waffles and the end freebie - a Gelato Village T-shirt! Service is quick so don't be put off if there is a long queue, friendly and clean and all very fresh, top quality!

Having been to various dessert places around Leicester, this one seems to stand out in the crowd. The ice cream was full of flavour and neatly presented with the waffles, the drink I had was a delicious variation of peach tea. The staff was very attentive during the order ensuring everything was clear and understood, through our visit it was peaceful due to it being early lunch along with the Riverside festival happening and what we experienced was clear mannerisms from the staff to other customers, showing they had the care and passion while being able to keep in check with us. I would visit again without hesitation as they have fair and promote family values with a recognised place for indiscriminated breast feeder place in tandam with unicef.

As you wander you can come across a gem. That gem in this case is Gelato Village. Seating inside is limited but also have some outside seating. They offer a good range of gelato which includes some seasonal flavours. They also aim to use local ingredients where they can which is good news. The gelato itself is very tasty. Dark chocolate is very good and remember gelato is lower in fat than traditional ice cream. They also offer tea and coffee so a pleasant place to enjoy something tasty.

Le Grande Bellezza. Basically a waffle with ice creams. I chose the Biscotto, pistachio, milk chocolate and stracciatella ice creams. Whereas most waffles taste like a combination of paper and air, this waffle is totally different. Has to be near the top of anything I've tried. The whole experience was unique, you can see the production team behind the scenes making the ice cream. If I could bottle the scent from the place, I'd wear it everyday. Definitely worth a try!

The hazelnut and pistachio are my favs though wish they introduced new flavours more frequently The owner regularly travels back to Italy to pick up more ideas on new gelato options, and even has a 'degree' in gelato making from Carpigiani - the Italian ice cream equipment manufacturer, famous for whip/soft serve ice cream like those used in the Mr Whippy vans. I tried one of their chocolate based ice cream; the flavour was phenomenal. It's my first time to experience an ice cream with three different 'tones'. Sweetness for the head, creamy for the heart and bitter for the base. And the way it transitions between 'tones' is just right —like a symphony in my mouth. 10/10 will recommend.

It is a beautifully laid out place with a website including all the information including whether something is vegetarian, vegan, nut free and so on. Everything is labeled in the shop with a wide range of gelato and other bites to eat. It is relatively inexpensive. They offer soft non-alchoholic drinks. You can get three scoops in any cone, mini, regular or large. The gelato is amazing and tastes outstanding. The waffle cones taste wonderful but there are tubs for ice cream available. There are also take away tubs for family functions that are quite large. It is one of the best dessert parlours in Leicester and is worth going to. Simply amazing service and amazing staff. Please try out.

Love Gelato Village! It's a great place to drop into after a meal out in Leicester - normally cheaper than eating dessert in the restaurant and almost always more delicious. They have a great selection of gelato (and other desserts) on offer, the quality of the ingredients is excellent and the staff are always polite and happy to offer a free sample if you're not sure what you fancy. Yep, Gelato Village ice cream even beats the memory of Regent!!
