Just got back from the opening night full of customers, lovely helpful staff . Had a glass of house wine which was good. Had the sample of the menu which was lovely especially the red sauce which was a chef own creation. Reading the menu it's cheaper than it was before. The only thing is no card payment at the moment. Cash machine is next door in the co-op. Wishing the management success in the future. Hope they will do takeaway.

This is the BEST Indian food I have had in my life. The restaurant is super clean and has very nice decor. And the prices are very low for London. In addition the staff is very nice and friendly. Check it out!

This place is amazing!! The service is quick and the quality of the cookie dough and the milkshakes is outside of this world .Very filling and not too sweet! Order from here you won’t regret it !

Fantastic restaurant! Eaten here many times and recently had a birthday party of 10 here and we were very well looked after. Staff members are so friendly and always make you feel very welcome and the food always tastes delicious. It’s clear that the staff really care about their customers and they put in a lot of effort to ensure that you have a great experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We came here for a meal after a busy week. The first thing we noticed was the friendly service. We got help choosing our dishes and were not disappointed with our choices. The atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant is nicely decorated with comfortable seating. The food was great and reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this place. It has everything you would wish for.

I used to go here regularly until it closed down temporarily whilst it was in the process of changing owners. Since it's reopening I had been lazy and sceptical about going back as I got along really well with the previous management. This Sunday just gone I decided to get off my arse and finally go. And I wasn't disappointed. The food was just as good, if not better than it used to be. And the faces may have changed but the level of service most certainly has not. I had my boring and standards Chicken Tikka Masala but... what the Mrs had was something special. When the waiter brought the Tamarind & Honey Chicken to the table the smell hit me like no other, it was beautiful and it tasted just as good. I'm glad I finally got off my arse and went as I now know that it'll be the local curry house that I go to on a regular basis again.

CLOSED...Just had a delivery and the food was a good size with lots of sauce. More natural ingredients with out over cooking and being over colourful. There seems to good chief with a keen eye for detail working there. Slightly better than curry gardens down the road.

Spice Gate is a local Indian restaurant which manages to combine value for money with innovative dishes. Yes, of course, the traditional curries are on the menu; but their own specials are the way to go. There is a marked south Indian influence on the menu with a marked use of honey and coconut leaves. I started with the Mughai Shrek kebab. Fresh lamb combined, subtly, with cheese in a very tasty sauce. Delicious - and preferable to the plain sheek. For my main I went with the Kerala curry, medium hot but entirely unlike the north Indian typical Madras. You have the difficult choice of monkfish or King Prawn. I opted for the latter and wasn't disappointed. The prawns were firm, fresh and meaty, the curry delicately spiced. My companions opted for a biryani which was beautifully cooked with tender chicken. No room for any pudding once we had eaten the saag aloo and keema nan. The nan was puffy and hot, freshly cooked. Looking at other reviews, let me put some issues to bed. First, whoever said this place is expensive is way off the mark. A starter for £3.95 and a special main at £7.95 hardly breaks the bank. And, finally, the service is friendly, personal but non-intrusive. Server happy to discuss the dishes and offer advice. That conversation concluded with our trying their dahl - a good pointer to quality. It was superb - heartily recommended. All in all, some good cooking going on here in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Try it. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Strongly recommend this restaurant. We had a chicken puri starter and a king prawn 'fantasy' - both excellent. Main course was chicken biryani which came in an extremely generous portion, lightly and delicately herbed and spiced, with a nice vegetable curry accompaniment. The side dish of saag paneer was delicious, as also was the tarka dal. Service extremely attentive and friendly. This restaurant has been under new management since May 2018 and the young new proprietor has something he can be justly proud of.

What a lovely restaurant with delicious food and very friendly staff that go out of their way to ensure your experience is wonderful. We’ve eaten here a good few times now and it never disappoints. Highly recommend the coconut chilli chicken curry. We’ll be back again!

Had minced meat inside a chicken breast, looked innocent enough but absolutely delicious with a really nicely spiced green sauce with it, got to eat it quick tho as the chicken loses its moistness as it cools down, plenty of other stuff on the menu I fancy trying out that I’ve not seen before
