Really happy to see that we have an amazing Asian grocery shop in our local area and the owner is incredibly polite, lovely, friendly and so cheerful and positive that our first visit felt so special. What a treasure trove! I wanted to make summer rolls and found this place online and it is amazing! So many goodies from Japan, Indonesia, China, Korea; I met Lai, who gave advice on how to use different vegetables (I'm now a covert to raw bean-sprouts!), suggested other products to try, i.e. seasoned tofu. Lai was so knowledgeable, helpful and really lovely. Also, you must wear a mask to come in so I felt super safe. Thank you Lai, I'm now eating awesome summer rolls because of you!

Very clean, neatly kept store with a good variety of East Asian goods. It's a small store but packs a solid amount of choice if you needed anything Chinese, Korean, or Thai (and a bit of others). The storekeeper was very friendly and polite. Tip: bring cash. They want to keep their credit card fees low as a family business.

I've been going to her store since I was 2 with my mum and I'm now almost 16. Lai is always so polite and helps out any customer that needs help. The food is so good I wish I could eat it everyday I love it so much and I love her so much she's so lovely. She gives amazing recommendations on what to buy and if you need help finding out how to cook and serve things you've never tried before, she is always happy to help. I would recommend the spring rolls and dumplings but also the deserts she has are so yummy. She has red bean buns which are literally out of this world and oreos in many different flavours that you can't get in regular old shops like tesco. The drink are also really nice with lots of things ranging from flavoured milk too sparkling water and more. Me and my mum are vegan and there are so many vegan and vegetarian options available aswell as other food to suite different dietary requirements. There is always a good deal available so you should 10000% shop there, I promise you won't regret it. Love you Lai xx

Amazing tiny shop really close to Catford Bridge Station. The place is bright and clean, important quality for a grocery shop. It offers diverse range of high quality Asian products from the usual one up to those that I can't find anywhere else (i.e Tom Yum Paste, Vietnam's G7 coffee, etc.). On top of everything, the store lady is top notch. If you are not too familiar with some of the products she'll definitely help. The only thing stopping me from putting 6 stars is the fact that they only got one variant of indomie. 10/10 covid regulation, you need to wait outside for your turn to shop.

I came in to the store with an idea that I wanted to make a ramen or noodle soup of some kind. Lai helped me decide I wanted a Korean soup. This supermarket is a hidden wonder! In the heart of Catford, it delivers a taste of asian flavours and wonderful culture. Really good store for Chinese groceries. Excellent customer service from Ly. I came into the store looking for spring roll wraps for a friend, I couldn't see the size that I wanted, Ly came over to assist and found the wraps I was looking for which was underneath. I only came for wraps but saw some other items that were just too tempting, bubble tea in a can, chilli oil, mochie ice cream, and instant ramen noodles. There were so many bubble tea flavours to choose from, I didn't know which one to try, Ly helped me choose a flavour which was actually really nice. They also have a loyalty scheme, if you purchase one of their grocery bags, you get 10% off every purchase over £20 (as long as you bring the bag with you, terms apply tho, but still a good deal). Great dumpling range! She is very careful about safety and hygiene so you will need a mask to enter, and may have to wait if the shop is busy. It's worth it!

She is always willing to advise and educate her customers about every option so they can make an informed decision. Even today again I had a lovely experience and came from 1h away by bus to make my purchases. I’ll keep visiting for sure!

I love this store, it has everything and anything that you need. It’s in such a good location as well, right on the Main Street, so you get off the bus or the train or on your way to get the bus or train you can just go into it, very conveniently placed. The owner of the store is also so kind, and very helpful, especially if you’re new to Asian/Chinese cuisine and you don’t know what to get/start, she’s extremely helpful and kind. The store also follows strict COVID rules, making sure all customers wear masks, and even allow give you hand sanitiser if you want some. The door is locked, so no one who doesn’t wear a mask is not able to get in, without the owners permission, allowing the owner and all customers to be protected. As well as for the shop not to be closed down. I love this store and if you’re looking for a nearby Asian grocery store this is the place to go.

I love this shop so much - it feels like an art gallery with its impeccably tidy shelves, so many products packed neatly into a small space. Possibly the best customer service ever! The lady was extremely welcoming, and just so lovely. She asked me where I was from (because she hadn't seen me before), told me if I needed anything ordering in she would be able to help me and her manners and just everything was great. The shop is small and the selection is small but it still has a good range of dim sum, good range of oils and sauces inc thai, korean, chinese and Japanese. Good sushi gear including bonito flakes. If you want more variety in the dim sum then you will be limited but very good for what I wanted. Highly recommend especially for the customer service!

New to south London and had to find a decent Asian grocery store. Saw the pics and reviews and decided to try it out. It’s a small store, but WELL stocked, and carefully chosen items. My Thai girlfriend was able to get all the ingredients we needed that night to cook up a storm. The proprietress was absolutely lovely in her customer relations, even going the extra mile to take down the phone number of another customer so she could call when a particular item was back in stock. She also kept her composure when there was a particularly difficult customer to handle, where even I could feel my blood boiling. Keep up the great shop and great work. See you again soon... Great little store super close to the stations! I’ve made a couple dishes with great ingredients from this fantastic little store! Including katsu curry and egg fried rice! The flavour packets are perfect size for a few portions of fried rice, along with the fresh vegetables and gyoza dumplings! The breadcrumbs are so handy for so many different dishes 😋

This shop is our little Ali Baba’s cave when it comes to Asian food, mainly Japanese, Korean (love the Kimchi), Thai and Chinese. A fantastic range of sauces for cooking, dipping, mixing, a great choice of noodles and vermicelli, and all sorts of steamed, boiled or fried dim sums (e.g. Pork Siew Mai, Beef Siew Mai, Prawn Ha Kouw, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Wan Tan). Steam bums and gyoza dumplings are some of our favourites but we never get disappointed when trying something new. Hard to find products can be sourced there too such as black glutinous rice. This little gem in Catford is a far better option than supermarkets for price, choice and quality. Lai is a very friendly shop owner, always at hand to provide help and advice and very conscious about Covid-19 risks. You will need a mask to get in and you will have to wait until she buzzes you in, which makes it safer and a far better experience as you are likely, as a couple, to have the whole shop to yourselves. It's always a pleasure to visit this shop. The owner is on hand to help you find the ingredients you are after if they are not in immediate vicinity. She'll help you with tips and recipe ideas. I love the Goyzas and she told me the ingredients to make the dipping sauce. The store even has gluten free Soya Sauce. Which was ideal for when my nieces and sister-in-law visited. And tapioca flour to make Pao de Queijo (Cheese Balls), a gluten free recipe. In my opinion it has all the Asian ingredients you require without the need to travel into Chinatown.

Very nice shop with a good selection. Pricing is a bit expensive but I guess it takes advantage of being the only decent east asian store in the area. The owner is very helpful at explaining and finding things but also a bit pushy in upselling items. She will even talk you through how to cook ingredients so customer service is very high! Cash is king here, and the rules are no card payments under £15 which I feel is another upsale technique and the highest min card payment I have ever seen. Overall I do go back often as it is a useful store, but can be nervous if I leave empty handed.

If this is not the case or something is out of stock, the shopkeeper will help you with your query and tell you when stock is likely to be in circulation. Wonderful local supermarket for all sorts of Asian specialities it's hard to get from national chains. Edit: this place got even better since I overdosed on k-dramas on Netflix. Has soju (green bottle alcohol, good for rooftops and tent bars), instant tteokbokki (looks like paste in tomato sauce, actually rice cakes in properly spicy sauce, good for work parties and street food), sweet black bean paste (for work lunch jjajangmyeon noodles), plus of course proper instant ramyeon you can cook in a tin pan on your roof garden and hand someone "you like" their share on the lid (yes - I have watched a lot of k-drama...)

Wow, where do i begin with this store!? I Have lived around Catford for most of my life and i had never realised this store was so close to where i live! Being mixed asian / caribbean it was always hard to find somewhere that could cater to my family's culture and i always struggled with not feeling like i belonged in both Asian and Caribbean groceries because of my ethnic mix. The service i was greeted with was out of this world, Lia (I believe her name is, sorry i didn't ask !!) was very open and happy when telling me about the various products she has for sale, preparation of groceries and about the discounts and deals going on. I enjoy coming back home with more than i planned to get haha. About two days ago i visited again and got my groceries for the next two weeks and we were talking about cleaning, care for kitchenware and cooking prep! For me, it's always been a challenge to find nice shopkeepers who genuinely enjoy talking to their customers and helping them out regardless of who they are and where they come from. I always make an effort to talk to shopkeepers, they spend a lot of time and care in making their shops presentable and offering the best services to customers and your interaction, however little it may be with them, could really brighten their day! So Lia, if you are reading this; Thank you so much! I want you to know that i really value your effort and the care you put into not only running your shop, but also caring for your customers. FLK Chinese Groceries is my favourite shop in Catford. I love experimenting in my kitchen and am in love with asian flavours so it is really exciting to have somewhere I can discover new things. She knows every item of produce like the back of her hand and always recommends something for me to try or explains in detail how to cook the things I pick off the shelves. My most recent discovery is shiritake noodles which are absolutely fantastic (and zero calorie!!) which go amazingly well with the Sechuan Paste Lei recommended I put with them. Following a long, overwhelming and confusing shopping experience in Chinatown trying to find Chinese cookery essentials I was left thinking ‘there must be a place nearer home that stocks oriental foods’. After reading all the rave reviews of FLK Chinese Groceries online I decided to go and see if my shopping experience would live up to other customers’ and I can happily report that it did! I rarely write reviews but after receiving some of the best customer service I’ve had from the lovely owner Lai I just had to write one. Lai was so welcoming, helpful and full of advice and tips (brilliant for beginners like myself!) without being forceful or fake. She is genuinely passionate about oriental cooking and has a wealth of knowledge that she is more than happy to share. I wasn’t sure of the best way to cook tofu so she showed me all the different types and how to cook them; even giving me recipes to try! The shop is so neat and well stocked and the best part is everything is clearly labelled so finding things is super easy. She’s even put together Gok Wan’s “Chinese Love Basket of Taste and Flavour” which contains the main sauces you need for Chinese cooking at a discount. I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment of being in FLK and will be a loyal, returning customer.

I was trekking all over Chinatown in search for things that I could get back home, but this store had just about everything and it was just a 5 minute walk! I was in search of the silver package Tom Yum Mama noodles I lived off of these noodles in college and they are my absolute favorite ramen. So happy that I found them here! And I can't resist their freshly baked char sui bun that they sell on Saturday from 12pm onward. Make sure you to turn up early though they sell out very quickly.

Amazing gem of a shop, half the size of the Chinese supermarkets in Deptford yet it had groceries I couldn't find in the others! FLK had everything that we were looking for to make the perfect Pad Thai with appetisers. Lai the owner is very knowledgeable about the products which helps when you're not sure what you want. The greatest highlight of my visit was when I told Lai about my plans to stop eating Gluten. If you love Chinese or Japanese snacks, you'll be in your element here... it's a petite store but packed full of treats like Pocky and Big Sheet. You can also pick up all the ingredients for making sushi (including that mayonnaise you need for Hand Rolls) as well as vegetables, dumplings and noodles. The girl behind the counter was so sweet and even recommended a variety of Pocky that I hadn't tried yet. Definitely somewhere I'll be popping back into on a regular basis.

This oriental supermarket in Catford is small, but well stocked carries mochi and kimchi, If you're after frozen Japanese foods like gyoza, a package of Pocky, or shichimi for your ramen you can find them here. A lot of Korean food stuff as well. I mean 4 different types of kimchi! 8 different flavours of pickled vegetables! And I haven't began to list there Chinese, Thai and vietnamese product range. But the best thing about this place is the owner, she is so nice and the shop is clean and well organised. Perfect for picking up those essential oriental ingredients. :)

Definitely 'My London Chinese Supermarket'. They stock Fresh char sui pork, Roast Duck and Pak choi, no more trips to china town now! I've lived in Brockley for years and only just discovered this place(they been here for over 5years!). The shop is spotless and korean lady who runs the shop(I think she's korean) is very helpful. In addition, to the char sui they also stock a wide range of korean and japanese ready meals, I had their Chicken Katsu with salad last night, Yummy :) no.1 oriental supermarket in Lewisham in my opinion.
