Reviews of Mamasons Dirty Ice cream
C. D. C.
A much more quieter and smaller Mamasons compare to the one in Leicester Square (or perhaps it was just not busy when I visited), with the name itself Mamasons’ specialised in providing Filipino’s famous ice cream and desserts. Would definitely recommend a visit especially for those with sweet tooth for sure you’ll like Bilog, Halo-halo, or even a piece or two of their doughnuts. A bit pricey for the price but the food is worth it.

Delicious! Came here for the bilogs. What a treat.
The pandesal (milk bun) is such a great vessel of flavour for the ice cream and sops up all the nice melted bits. It's not overly sweet but just perfect and milky deliciousness! The ratio of ice cream to pandesal are also perfect, I often am disappointed with how little filling can be packed in these, but they give you a good hearty portion. We could have ate four, definitely get one for yourself. Definitely premium and pricey, but justifies the price tag.
We got ube and cheese which had distinctly different flavours (cheese was a little salty, perfectly sweet) and both had great flavour profiles.
They have donuts F-Sun so make sure to check those out too. They are filled and FAT. We were raving about the ube cream filled donuts for hours after. My friend liked them even more than the ice cream.
So fluffy and the cream was subtly sweet, but the texture made it different enough from the ice cream for a bit of variety. Really want to try the leche flan donut next time.
Glad I work and live very close by. Definitely will be back to try the other bilog flavours, halo halo, ube brownies... everything, probably!
There was a bit of a lineup, but nothing crazy. Only two tables up front but people leave fast. Service average. Excited to explore more of the Maginhawa Group.

Very friendly service and delicious treats. The Leche flan doughnuts were amazing. The halo halo is a great treat on summer for those nice tropical fruit and coconut flavours! Friendly service and good location on nice quiet road. Highly recommend! I will be visiting again soon. Thanks!
H. H.
This place is really good! The ice cream flavors 😍😍.
I picked up a box of pandesol after having the bilog. A fave of Camden area for sure.
a.
Love the variety of choices of ice cream. Definitely recommend getting the queso (cheese), ube (yams) and milo (chocolate). Try there shake and you have a choice of adding 2 different flavour of ice cream, try mixing ube and milo together and enjoy the taste. The ube brownie with queso ice cream is delicious as well. Would try to mix ube and queso shake next time am see how the 2 combined taste is like. If yourblooking for some fruit favour do try the calamansi (citrus flavour) or guavano.

I'd never heard of ube before, but it's my favourite kind of ice cream now! It's the perfect sweetdish for those who like sweet, and even those who don't like sweet much..as it's mildly sweet in flavour. Love love love it!
We were 3 of us sharing one portion (although I could've had one myself, in hindsight) , and the staff was kind enough to cut it into 4 halves. There was a small queue at the store, but the service was quite prompt! :)

As I was around town, I thought I’d check this notoriously known place out.
Now, there are a few other things on the menu I want to return here for and try out, but just a side note: ordered a vegan hot chocolate and it unequivocally wasn’t; the dairy was tasted from a mile away and the Milo was a giveaway. It’s best to avoid false advertisement and ensure that you adhere to what it is you are selling.
Anyway, back to the dessert.
I opted for the favourite and popular ube flavoured bilog; this is basically yam flavoured purple ice cream. I heard plenty of good things because it essentially looks like an ice cream sandwich-doughnut. The ube itself was very tasty! It’s indescribable as I’d never tasted any flavour like it before, but it was very smooth, soft and creamy! It was enveloped in a sweet and fluffy naan/bread-like dough, with some icing powder to intensify sweetness. The combination worked nicely and I could’ve easily eaten 3.
It was eat-out only, so no seating indoors. The shop is quite quirky and there was outdoor seating, although social distancing was a myth.
If you like to venture and taste desserts from different cultures, I would definitely recommend visiting Mamasons - although, if you are vegan, you may want to refrain - as I would like to experience other treats on the menu. I’m sure the locals in Camden love it. 8/10.
Update:
If you’re in Camden, a hotspot for dessert or drinks is Mamason’s. The last time I was here, I tasted the notorious ube bilog, so this time I thought I’d experiment with another item on the menu.
The staff were super friendly and approachable, suggesting the halo halo - this was essentially crushed ice with evaporated milk, some coconut shillings, some sweet bean paste, something that appears like cornflakes with a scoop of ube ice cream.
It looked quite interesting, so I was excited to dig in. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disaster. The only pleasure I obtained was through eating the ube ice cream. There’s just so much happening and it doesn’t blend or complement nicely. Maybe my tastebuds aren’t acquired to it.
I’ll certainly recommend checking Mamason’s out for their bilog, but the halo halo? Not a chance. Not even if you paid me. 2/10.

My partner and I have had the Bilog (pandesal ice cream sandwich) filled with Ube ice cream twice now. Both times it has been exceptional - the combination of flavors and textures is perfect.
On our first visit we also had the Halo Halo drink, which we actively did not enjoy, but this could just be personal preference.
I still want to give 5 stars because of how special the Bilog is, but it is worth mentioning that I believe Mamasons is overpriced. I understand it's London, but I will visit much less often because of the prices.
J. H.
Delicious doughnuts and milkshakes. 4 stars as the shake didn’t live up to what they promised us when we bought it. No whipped cream or ube stick but still charged us the same price with no extras to replace the 3 shakes we bought. Still very delicious. Could do with a little more customer service
T.
Delicious ice cream, we could sample the flavours before committing to the full scoop. We had ube and the black buko on charcoal cones.
On the pricier side
M. A.
The service at Fiori was excellent and our server Alesea was very accommodating when I asked her if we could have a birthday cake we brought with us to celebrate my friends birthday along with our coffee order. She lit the candles brought it out and served us and we were all very happy 😃 She was very kind, positive and polite and put us all in a good mood 😊. Thank you Alesea, thank you Fiori!

There are two Mamasons that I know of, and this one is located on Kentish Town on the high street towards the Camden Town end. I prefer this one over the Chinatown store, as it the design of the cafe is more rustic and in line with the brands identify. They are well known for their taro flavoured ice creams and have been heavily cited on many food journals and magazines. I went for the first time and would recommending is definitely worth a try if you are around or nearby. They have distinctive flavours which really brings you back to Southeast Asia.

Great selection of Filipino bakes and desserts. The filled donut is sensational but the real star of the show is that unbelievable Ube ice cream!
N. K.
Had heard about the much hyped Ube Bilog's a few years ago and had always meant to to try them out but whenever I was close by to either the Camden or China Town branch I was always too full or the queue was too long.
Finally I decided to make a trip down to Camden specifically to give it a go and wow! Sometimes when you try a much hyped dessert it can only let you down but this was simply amazing. Far better than I could have imagined. The Ube ice cream is absolutely delicious, it tastes a little bit like a speculoos cookie, but a little more subtle and the pandesal bun which the ice cream is sandwiched between is a perfect complement.
I will be back here again. This immediately shot to the top of the list of my favourite Desserts!
M. W.
This was the first time my partner and I had a bilog from Mamasons and it was really delicious! It has now been crowned our favourite dessert. Cute little store with a couple of outdoor tables.
S. K.
Filipino ice cream based aesthetic desserts. Very novel and interesting flavours. Price range around £3-10. Small shop, only like 2 tables for seating outdoors. Would recommend trying, I thought it was tasty, but might be a bit too different for everyone's tastes. Lemonade and coffees available too.
P. A.
The bilog is amazing! I had tried the ube and black buko and they were both great. Portion is perfect for 2
l. r.
Lovely Filipino flavoured ice cream and deserts. Love getting their bilogs and ube hot cocoa as a few faves. Have introduced this place to quite a few friends who are new to this cuisine and they are hooked already. Aside from the food. The vibe of the place is always so chill and welcoming. They have friendly staff that sets a nice atmosphere to return to.

The menu could be clearer and little overpriced to be honest but the bilog with ube ice cream was fluffy and smooth which was an enjoyable dessert. The Calamansi Ade drink is a lemon drink but it was really tangy which for me does not work with the menu itself but if you like such sharpeness then worth it and refreshing.
C. C.
First time visiting the Kentish Town branch (I've gone to the Chinatown branch a few times) and ordered two scoops of ice cream, one calamansi (lime) and the other queso (cheese). Cheese ice cream might sound strange but it was slightly sour and creamy and I loved it! No option to dine in but there's seats outside to enjoy the sunshine :)
S. A.
Wonderful place to try Filipino ice-cream desserts. This was my first time trying a bilog or something ube flavoured and it was a delight! Great to try a new cuisine and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. It's on a great street with interesting independent shops - worth checking out. Looking forward to my next visit!
P. p.
Very friendly and respectful stuff l like the special ice cream home made, Philippines style ice cream.
The ice cream names are different and real and tropical fruit used some of them very good .There are small tables /space sitting in-front in the shop.
You should try.
H. A.
Stopped by for a scoop on the recommendation of a friend. The buko ice cream was delicious. Friendly kids working behind the counter. Will definitely pay a second visit
F. Y.
Dying for the milkshake!!! The girl told me what I had, guyabano and kalamansi mix together, was the first time she ever made in two year, but i could say it was really nice!! For the bilog, I tried it with Black Buko and queso, though personally I like queso more, black buko is a better match.
A.
One of the cutest ice cream shops in London! Me and my friend loved our cheese and ube ice cream sandwiches. Definitely different to the usual ice cream we have but worth a try for sure!
V. N.
Really flavourful ice-cream with unique ingredient combinations. The ube bilogs are crazy good. And the only place in London you can get a Milo flavour ice-cream ❤️❤️❤️
S. M.
Love their flavours! The ube is very rich, black coco is an interesting flavour too. Try the halo halo for sure.
G. F.
Loved the ice cream doughnut. Found it very unique. Bit on the high price but nice to try
H. B.
Definitely recommend their doughnuts which come in 3 different flavours, ube being my favourite, they’re only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I’m not a fan of their drinks personally as they aren’t quite made for my tastebuds (Calamansi-ade was too strong in flavour like drinking a drink made with orange peels and the latte tasted like mushroom soup). The baklava bilog was delicious. Their customer service isn’t the best. I stood at the front waiting for someone to take my order, they looked at me making eye contact noticing I was waiting but remained standing, on their phone or talking to each other until I had to verbally point out that I wanted to order and that’s when someone came to take my order. They also had different prices on their board that was outside to the ones on the window which was misleading.
X. C. A.
Friendly staff, lovely service. Quite a small menu but the ice cream flavours are unique, which gives them an edge! Some of the flavours were a bit too sweet for me but I recommend trying the honeydew and black buko (coconut) flavour. They also serve ice cream inside a pandesal (sweet Filipino bread) bun, and even offer halo halo (Filipino dessert with shaved ice, toppings and evaporated milk), so feels like home! Small venue; very clean and a pleasant experience.
S. S.
I think this place is over hyped by the tiktok influencers. The concept of serving an ice cream in bun is cool and something new; however, the taste was not worth the price.
C. D.
Amazing unique filipino flavours to these decadent ice cream creations; I recommend the ube flavour if you are filipino; the milo flavour if you are not. Looking forward to the opening of the Chinatown branch!
S. S.
Absolutely beauuuuutiful!!!
Anything you choose on the menu is GUARANTEED to satisfy your taste buds!
I got their famous Halo Halo, black buko and ube flavoured bilogs.
You. Need. To. Visit. This. Place. At. Least. Once! 😍
M. G.
We went here to get cooled off. A good friend recommended this place and Bintang. The staff were very friendly especially the owner Omar. They're all helpful and welcoming. The desserts were tasty. Their halo - halo is most decent one I've tasted in the UK, which usually would just taste like milk on ice in other places. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back.
K. Z. N.
Tasty Filipino style ice cream! Nice and silky I love the milo taste ice cream remind me of APAC chocolate malt drink - combine with the charcoal cone amazing !
S. L. L.
A little bit overrated. However, I really love the bun with ube ice cream in it, it is very delicious!!!! But frankly, you can make them by your own. The ube ice cream to me , it is just like any ordinary ice cream you can buy from a random supermarket, nothing special. What i wanna say is, it is special in terms of its combination of a bun and PURPLE ice cream, but once is enough, I wouldn’t spend so much money on it.
S. K.
This place has just topped my favourite dessert shop list! Really lovely cosy interior and friendly service. The music flowing in the shop was very hip and also made my experience of their unique menu more enjoyable! The irresistibly cute purple ube hot chocolate is super delicious and unique—its good look doesn’t just play for instagram haha and it is actually tasty!
R. L.
Absolutely delicious, nothing else out there like it. The bilog with the UBE flavour was just amazing. I would highly recommend. Price was reasonable for the quality of it.
J. B.
I have ice cream very rarely because normally when I eat it, I'm thinking "I probably shouldn't be eating this" but this Bilog was gone in 60 seconds. One of the best desserts I've had!
k.
So surprisingly, it was pretty packed when I came in. It's a pretty cold day out in London, and pretty much everyone ordered ice cream. I ended ordering two things: bilog with matcha ice cream and ube hot chocolate.
First the bilog - a pandesal (traditional Filipino milk bun) stuffed with whatever choice of ice cream you want. I chose matcha, and I wasn't the biggest fan of it... I would say that it was the ice cream I didn't enjoy so much. As a person with a very big sweet tooth, the matcha had a hint of bitterness to it? If you appreciate the non-sugary matcha flavor, it's definitely up your alley. Just a suggestion! Maybe have a thicker bun? Every time I picked it up, the ice cream would fall from underneath, and it made me sad, haha.
And then the ube hot chocolate. Okay, I don't LOVE ube. I'm such a sham to the Filipino community. I think it's good, but it's definitely not the first flavor I would go for. But mixing it with hot chocolate? Was definitely interested along with the fact that it's a purple drink. LET ME TELL YOU. If you come here, TRY THE UBE HOT CHOCOLATE. Honestly. Best thing I've had in a while. I don't like hot chocolate that much, but this was phenomenal. You don't really taste chocolate, just ube which was such a pleasant surprise. Also the presentation of it is awesome. They definitely dress it up for Instagram.
My only issue is how looong it takes to get your order. I only ordered those two things, and I stayed there for about an hour. I've never waited so long for something that is seemingly easy to make (please note that I said seemingly, I don't know the actual process of making the food and drinks). I would say that the matcha bilog (which came first) was about twenty minutes to make? Maybe? Ten to fifteen if I'm being nice? And then I waited for my ube hot chocolate. It wasn't until one of the workers asked me if I was waiting for anything (he was the one who rung me up at the cashier), and I had to remind him about it. I don't really mind waiting, but it didn't seem very efficient. I will cut them some slack though; they've only been open for like three months? It's chill.
But the staff was great. They were really interactive with customers and even though they were slow in preparation, I didn't feel like I was rushed or I didn't feel impatient just because their attitudes were laid back and chill. They handed out stickers, told me what to tag the picture of the ube hot chocolate as if I posted it on Instagram (haha), and they were really apologetic about the delays.
So overall, I would definitely come back here again - with some Filipino friends this time. I'm going to try to come at a time when it's not busy or when there are a least spots to sit down. I'm definitely going to get the ube hot chocolate during this fall/winter season. If you ever come here, don't expect quick service. But if you're in no rush and not an impatient person, then this place it awesome.
A. V.
Filipino ice cream inside of deep fried donuts. What more can you desire in life?
A.
Super friendly staff! The young man behind the counter was calling me ma’am;) thanks for great customer service and offering such delicious milkshakes in this heatwave! Ube purple milkshake was amazing - additionally the interior design was so cute and calm. Love you guys!
S. R.
Ube (purple yam) and Milo flavour ice creams are yum. For those who know what it is, the Ube flavour tastes like kheer to me :)
L. W.
Went in there, a very small place with four categories you can choose what you want to try out. The dessert were very delicious but some might not be worth the price. Should have more categories or add more flavors!
s. s.
It was my first time trying this.... it was only take away as covid situation...the guy was polite and attentive.... and the brioche with the charcoal icecream was literally amazing!!!! .... must try !!! My new fav thing in london 😍
L.
Interesting ice cream flavours. In the picture you can see Matcha (green) Black Buko (in black made with coconut and activated charcoal) and Ube (in purple made with purple yam - a tipe of sweet potato).
The warm bun is delicious especially with Keso.
A flavour of Philippines.
A. J.
the chocolate brownie with ube ice cream was delicious, however, the lack of indoor aesthetic and the lack of seating indoors or outdoors was dissapointing.
S.
THIS IS THE BEST ICE CREAM I'VE EVER HAD. I had the Ube (from purple yams if I'm not mistaken) & Black Buko (coconut and activated charcoal) each a scoop shake! It's literally the best thing I ever tasted! 10/10 would get again!!! Also not that pricey for £4,50 a shake. My boyfriend had 2 scoops of Calamansi.
A. G.
Amazing Ice cream. Who knew a Philippine sweet potato flavoured ice cream could taste so good! The waffle cones are made in house, ice cream made daily in small batches and the buns... Oh my ... they are so comforting with Milo ice cream. Delicious, not to be missed!
L. B.
If you're sick of vanilla and strawberry ice-cream and want a hefty, authentic taste of the phillipines, there is no other place that comes to mind.
Pricing is normal for in and around Camden but quality is above and beyond.
I recommend trying queso ice-cream and an ube bilog!
Salamat po, mamasons.
G. B.
Visited this place, a nice small location. The service was very efficient and the flavour influences were very interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed the Black Buko and milo ice creams.
U.
Great food. Recommend trying even if you've never had it before. Shakes were really good quality.
S. I.
Something different. Interesting flavour in the Ube flavour. Highly recommended. The waffle bun is hot, yet the ice cream inside is cold!!!
H. I.
Something different and very very tasty, although I couldn't handle more than one scoop! Highly suggest the purple yam flavour and the lime was brilliant too.
N.
Came here after watching The Insider's video about their "hot chocolate", and it was delicious, just like I thought it'd be!
F. M.
We had the ube bilog, a warm donut type thing filled with purple yam ice cream. Lovely, and the server was really helpful in describing all the flavours. Must go again to try the others!
H. K.
The ice cream was good especailly the Halo Halo, coule be improved by adding more seating outside.
A. P.
Go Here!! The Bilog was delicious, need to try the rest of the menu. Great friendly atmosphere too
M. N.
This place is just out of the world!!!! Amazing ice cream!!!!
H. M.
Amazing ice cream and drinks, all about the ube!
N. A.
First time here and let's just say it was the best! The Black Buko ice cream in a black cone was absolutely delicious! This is a must have when in London!
S. F.
Yum!! Really amazing ice cream, we went for a cone of the ube and the halo halo but in my opinion, I would skip the cone and just dive into the halo halo! It has an ube ice cream already but the drink itself is equally as delicious
S. S.
Nice and clean place to dine. Westfield branch.
J. H.
Interesting Filipino ice cream place. The ice cream toasted sandwich works well, and the ice cream flavours range from the slightly different but familiar to the quite exotic and adventurous.
M. B.
If you want to try authentic Filipino desserts, *Mamasons* the place to be. Would recommend the ice cream sandwich with Ube(purple yam flavour) and black buko(coconut)pure indulgence.
P. G.
Awesome flavours - tried Soursop, Kalamansi, Milo and Yam (Ube). First two in particular were outstanding. Don't suggest Kalamansi for children though as there's a slightly bitter after taste.
s. h.
Friendly staff with fantastic delicious Filipino desserts and milkshake 10/10. Would recommend the Ube Bilog or anything Ube
G. L.
Never thought I would LOVE the taro drink!! It’s not usual to me though lol
A. N.
Mamasons is a great little place in Kentish town to get a small taste of the Philippines in London. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially if you're new to Filipino food and desserts, and are passionate, as all Filipinos are, about sharing Filipino culture and Filipino food culture with the rest of the world. I had the halo-halo for £6.50. While it wasn't the best halo-halo I've ever had, it definitely made me feel like I was back in Philippines, especially sat outside in the warm summer weather. There were also groups of Filipinos congregating close to the establishment speaking in Tagalog, and the only thing missing was some good Filipino OPM music....or someone singing some Martin Nievera karaoke on magic mic, hehehe
O. A. T.
Go for the black buko and/or ube ice-cream! So tasty. Took off one star as when it’s busy you might have to wait a while and they do run out of flavours which can be disappointing.
M. B.
Place is a lot smaller than expected. Portions were a good portion.
S. W.
Delicious!! I highly recommend the Ube Bilog. Service was quick and server was polite
J. C.
Interesting flavours for sure, but the ice cream was is way too soft. Flavour of the Ube ice cream was on the bland side
A. L.
Bilog with ube ice-cream (purple) was absolutely delicious! Will come back for more and to try more flavours.
R. A.
I've been coming here for nearly two years now and the ice cream is always great and they are always introducing new flavours. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. They're always offering samples to try the ice cream before buying.
My go to is always the ube donuts, the bilog and maybe the brownie with a scoop of ice cream (they always recommend ice cream which never disappoints)
R. K.
Nice ice-cream love the black bilog... Tasted better then it looked... Nice place
A. R.
Mamasons is a great place to stop by for dessert. The ice cream is unique and places a different take on traditional Philippine favourities. Definitley worth stopping by to try it out.
S. C.
Got the donut and famous ice cream. Was not enamoured by it, was OK expensive not in a rush to go back
W. P.
The leche flan donut is delicious. It’s just a shame they only sell on weekends.
R. S.
The bilog is to die for! My favourite is the UBE. BLACK BUKO in the photo.
s. s.
Yes please! Lovely creamy ice-cream! I had the yam and the black coconut !
Friendly people + covid safe !
J. G.
The Ube Bilog is the best! If you like ice cream go there and try the Ube ice cream! Its made from Yam and its one the best ice creams to have! Being half filipino im lucky I get to have ube ice cream when ever I want!!
A. I.
These were tasty, Ube and Milo were our favourites, the service was excellent. I don't think I'd have them on a regular basis but they're definitely worth a try.
V. V. W.
Small, independent Filipino ice-cream parlour with unique flavours like black coconut, yam, soursop and the popular Asian chocolate drink, Milo. Outdoor seating is better than inside on a breezy sunny day.
I didn't like the yam which was supposed to be their signature flavour. It had a funny sort of after taste which I didn't like. The black coconut was very good. In fact, one of the best. The soursop sorbet was very refreshing as well. The cone had a good thick texture and is wide enough to hold three scoops. The size of the scoops are decent scoops.
f.
The people are so friendly & explained the menus and flavours behind the ice creams
S. S.
Love the Filipino experience and flavours on offer here. Ube this and that...to be specific there was a version of hot chocolate and there was also some ice cream too.
A massive fan of the halo halo, which is a big treat and ticks many boxes. A cool and bright place.
P. N.
Yummy! Ube ice cream
R. R.
While this ice cream was really good and I'll definitely visit whenever in town.
The staff was just as cold as their ice cream.
No one greeted us after we said good afternoon and the rest of the staff just stared at is while we ordered.
E. B.
Interesting, but not my cup of tea. They have 6 ice-cream flavours that are served in a doughnut..
s.
There are two branches of Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream and they are famous for its purple ube ice-cream and other sweet treats.
Mamasons specializes in Filipino ice cream with special items during the weekend when there are more people.
There are two branches, one in Chinatown and one at Camden.
After trying the Leicester Square branch, I decided to try Mamasons at Camden for the drink.
If you have tried Filipino food, a majority of it can be quite sweet but overall Flipino food is extremely delicious especially dinuguan, pinkabare, taro leaves etc.
At the Chinatown branch of Mamasons, you can expect it to be quite busy being in a prime location but the Camden branch is much nicer and quiet.
On this visit, I had the hot ube coco which was a winter drink of velvety ube and white chocolate hot coco, topped with freshly made ube whipped cream.
Unfortunately I found it too sweet and milky.
The ube cream on top was a bit too stiff and waxy and doesn't really dissolve in your mouth.
I was expecting the ube cream to be like the ube filling that they put in the donuts but it was a little different.
M. T.
I was too full from my dinner to try the bilog so I had an ube ice-cream in a black cone. Delicious and I can't wait to try the bilog now
S. G.
Thought it was just a spot to take selfies but the treats were genuinely tasty as well as photogenic! 😋👌🏼📸
N.
My friends really liked this place, but I found the ice cream to be too sweet. That being said the queso was very delicious and I would recommend someone with a sweet tooth to come here. Service was great as well!
The place is small though, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend for large groups.
A. A.
Creative Filipino style ice-creams that are sweet and delicious. Definitely will visit again.
K. D. J.
Cute, delicious and the treats are oh so instagrammable! I loved the ube bilog! I think the buns on their own are great and the halo halo is 🤤
R. K.
Absolute gem of a place!! Incredibly unique ice cream with flavours that will blow your mind. I think the black coconut affogato actually changed my life. The ube bun is next on my list. Charming atmosphere and lovely staff. Never been anywhere else like it - truly special and worth going out of your way for.
R. N.
Bought my first Halo-Halo in three years and it was good. Customer service was great as well.
W. H.
Splendid exotic Filipino ice creams in a small cafe. Our group of five tried most flavours and loved them all - the kids particularly liked Ube which they described as a less chocolaty chocolate and I loved the Custard Fruit sorbet.
M. R.
Ordered a halo halo... Blooming lovely! Worth the walk from Camden market to get some quality ice cream.
C. B.
Little gem of a place, love the deserts, like crack. Staff was friendly will be going back again ASAP.
N. F.
One of my favourite ice cream spots in London! This is a cosy place with really friendly customer service though it is a bit on the pricey side. It's a small shop, so limited seating but perfect for a date night treat with delicious, unique flavours that you can't get anywhere else!
Would definitely recommend the Ube and Milo if you're into creamy but light flavours and Guyabano for a more refreshing citrus sorbet. They also have warm bilog buns with ice cream baked inside for a more hearty dessert. Overall, unique, cosy and amazing ice cream!

GO TO THIS PLACE. I know it's out of the way, but easily one of the best ice cream/dessert places I. London. Open until 10pm most days. Be warned, they won't have typical ice cream flavours you're used to as it is a Filipino ice cream shop, but they let you try flavours before choosing and honestly they are all delicious. The ube bilog (purple ice cream donut) is to die for, and most of their specials are well worth a try :)
S. J.
Mamasons is one of the best dessert places for me.
It’s cute, decor is on point and the dessert is literally out of this world. The Ube flavour in anything is to die for. Their Baku flavour is a close second for me. Their bilog buns leave me wistful and wanting more. Their donuts are equally good. Their crumble is delightful and the perfect consistency. Mamasons has great recipes and I should know, I have traveled and have the sweetest tooth. Even friends who don’t have the sweetest tooth have preferred Mamasons because it’s flavours cater for them well too.. my social media following agree. .
The cons? Why do I give them a 3/5? Well... I go there a lot. I take my friends there too. In fact, if someone wants to make me happy, they’ll get me an ube-something... Mamasons pricing is horrendous. A bilog alone will cost you £6. An ube donut is expensive and small. Their signature crumble is £7 (and £6.50 without ice cream EVEN though ice cream is £3!!). Their pricing structure is not only bad, they lack customer care. I have gone in there on average once a week and have always come out feeling ripped off or kicking myself for ordering more. They give you the bare minimum but charge you a 5* price and somehow, I’m not sure why.. their kitchen looks dirty too!? Any way.
For this flavour of Filipino food, eso the bilog bun, my pocket has suffered. It will probably continue to do so because the flavour is so good. However, it comes with an awful feeling of just having been conned.
J. P. G.
Amazing halo halo with creamy leche flan and ube ice cream on top. Can rival the best halo halo in the Philippines.
y. b. (.
The ice cream here is to die for I've tried the charcoal coconut (black/grey ice cream) and the sweet potato - Ube (purple ice cream) is really lovely and looks amazing in the black waffle cones. The service I recieved was less than helpful the young lad who served me couldn't even follow a very straight forward basic order and then seemed to get rather grumpy when he was corrected. More attention to customer service is needed.
J. K.
Want interesting unique ice cream? Great, come here.
M. S.
I was lucky enough to go during the weekend special of their doughnuts! Friendly staff and thank you to Jade for the chance to try all the flavours. Definitely worth the 1 hour travel in the cold! Ube is now my favourite flavour! Definitely going back again for more.
A. C.
Amazing desserts and ice cream flavours. Really good flavour combinations worth trying and coming back for more.
6 months later, still tastes equally as delicious ;).
M. B.
Mamasons is the best! Friendly staff, some of the best ice cream in London, lovely home delivery.
A. V. M.
I love this place and travel to Kentish town regularly just for this. Best Ice cream in London IMO..... The "Ube Bilog" is a must try!
s.
I loved the Halo Halo item! The purple yam ice cream is a must !
G. M.
Loved the Matcha Milkshake! The Ube cream is delicious as was the guanabana sorbet & ube hot chocolate. The staff were so lovely and welcoming.
The interiors are perfect and went great with the smell of fresh waffle cones being made.
Looking forward to visiting again and getting my ube cream fix!
B. D.
Love this place. It's quiet small but the ambience is pretty and cosy. The prices are affordable! The taste is 100%! Philipino icecream is my new favourite after visiting this place. The service is excellent. Went with my friends and one of the staff offered to take our picture as a group and was very friendly.
Had a lovely experience. The icecream is also very filling!
M. A.
Cosy backdrop, ice cool treats, flavours you can’t fathom. Simply one of the best dessert places in London, if not Europe. Top things to try: Ube Bilog (for newbies start here). Halo Halo (cupful of flavour). Try the sorbets, they really hit home with flavour!
R. A.
Nicely unusual icecream. Not a fad and the flavours were well thought out. The black cones are really nice. I settled for the coconut and charcoal and was not disappointed. Very friendly service too. We will be back...
R. J.
I have visited Mamasons before in Soho and their Ube ice cream was definitely sweeter and tastier. This particular branches ice cream and bilog was not as nice. I must say that although they were busy their service deserves 5 stars
J. S.
Great choice of deserts would definitely recommend if your in the area!
B. L.
Absolutely delicious Filipino desert. Walked here from their sister ramen place a minute away, Ramo Ramen
V. B.
Absolutely delicious ice cream. Imaginative and authentic Filipino flavours. I had the guyabano and Milo. Calamansi was also utterly fabulous. Lovely staff. Will definitely be coming back regularly.
P. A.
Amazing Philippine dessert shop. All classic flavours and desserts ice creams, bilogs and brownies. Could eat there every day!
B. V.
The best place to get dessert in London. The buko pie with ube ice cream is my favourite!
T. K.
The ice cream we had was amazing, my favourite was the soursop. The service from Juriz was exemplary. We were fortunate to meet with the management who were very friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend this place, it has some of the best servings, and what's more, it couldn't be served by nicer people!! 5 stars and beyond!
J. Y.
Loved the Bilog. Almost tasted like what I would've had in Sri lanka with the milk bun 😍 very tasty!
J. N. A. P.
I have been following them since I saw them at a food event and now today they finally opened up in China Town, their second ice cream parlour. Watching their Iive updates on FB and seeing them today was amazing!! You can see the love and care they put into their desserts, the parlours and even in the staff. The staff are very well mannered and hard working!! I Loved their uniform very clean white tee and airforces!! Mamasons Gang!
Congratulations again on your second ice cream parlour!!!
Great Merchandise Too!!!
You gotta try the ube ice cream and buko pie!!! My family loved it!!!
A. B.
Cute spot with really good flavors. Queso flavor tasted similar to cheesecake, the Calamansi was nice and tart. Ended up getting the Ube, which was perfect. The Bilog looks really good and seems to be popular
M. A.
At last! A Filipino delight in the heart of London serving childhood favourites including ube (purple yam) and milo ice creams, "bilogs" which make for a perfect ice cream sandwich and sorbets (my partner is obsessed with the calamansi flavour). Look out for their seasonal specials including ube hot cocoas and even cheese flavoured ice cream. So good that I've become a regular.
C. V.
Short list of flavours but absolutely amazing. Specially coconut and sorbet. Plus the black cone is probably the most insta-friendly ice-cream you can get
Y. A.
Delicious ice cream
M. A.
Cannot recommend this enough! A bit pricy, but worth it! Ube is a must.
C. T.
Yummiest hot chocolate! The ube taste is strong and it just goes so well with the creamy decadent hot chocolate. Definitely my fav in London, with Monocle's Matcha hot choc comes closely in the second place.
J. S.
Best dessert in Leicester Square hands-down. Filipino desserts adds a much needed variety to China Town's cuisine. Highly recommend the Ube ice cream.
A. A. G.
Tiny place, great for a 1-1 quick catch-up. Ube Bilog where nice and toasty, the ube flavour in ice cream was balanced. Warm & filling for only £6.5
A. D.
Great ube ice cream... The Filipino flavours were fun and I enjoyed this place at Kentish Town. Definitely pop in of you're looking for a dessert.
L. M.
We ordered 3 bilogs, ube, black buko and guyabano..all three were delicious!! Friendly and helpful staff. Interior was cosy and trendy. It was a really nice place to chill on a rainy afternoon.
M. F. A. R.
Didn't know that yam ice cream is a thing in Filipino. In Malaysia we got Yam ice cream everywhere. To common for Malaysian that no one cares for it LOL But it definitely taste good like any other ice cream :D
N. P.
A relaxing and cozy nook along the Kentish Town Road. You are greeted with pleasant staff. The coffee is good. And most of all, the ice cream is excellent!
O. R.
Wow this place has some seriously good ice-cream and deserts don't miss the Ube flavoured ice-cream and brownies, they are really tasty! In my opinion the only thing that deters me from visiting often is the price a little bit on the expensive side but absolutely amazing.
J. K. L.
Really really good ice cream! The ube flavor is deliciously rich and sweet, and Mamasons has mastered that. Will definitely be back!
D. T.
Don't let the name mislead you - these delicious ice creams and sorbets aren't 'dirty' at all, but totally refreshing! Definitely worth trying a few of the flavours you haven't had before.
K. N.
Super friendly staff who have a creative flair and passion for introducing the world to the unique flavours of the Philippines dessert world! Highly recommend trying the ube and get ready to gram away your latest treat.
K. P.
It ok. I would not go out of my way to come here but if I was near I would try some of the other flavours. I had the Milo flavour. I am a bit Milo fan but was disappointed with their flavour as couldn't taste much of it.
S.
I love the ube bilog 😋 If I could have one every day I would
S. E.
Waw. This place oozes candy floss happiness. Excellent coffee (flat white). Ice cream flavours:
ube ~ purple yam
black buko ~ coconut & charcoal
queso ~ cheese (fear not, froyo cheesecake)
milo ~ chocolate
guyabano ~ creamy mango-esque
calamansi ~ lime-mandarin
G. A.
Everything is delicious but my absolute favourite is the buko(coconut) pie. 🎉🎉🎉
J. A.
Ube Shake is Amazing!, Be sure to try the Black buko Ice Cream you wont be disappointed. Authentic ice cream for anyone wishing to devour the sweet taste of the Philippines

(Translated) Very nice and cozy place, warm welcome where we take the time to explain the menu, however I do not adhere to all the flavors of ice cream, the queso really has the taste of cheese at the end 2 bites c inedible. Try the halo halo shake there is a bit of everything.
