Reviews of Ping Pong Southbank
S. A.
I have been here a few times and 100% recommend!!! You defo should book a table as its always very busy and sometimes they cant accept walk ins. Great service & food despite it being busy and manic for the staff. The best dishes? Their new chicken katsu rice dish, seafood sticky rice, potato edamame cakes, the steamed broccoli (it comes with this amazing sesame sauce), the har gau (prawn dumpling). The list is endless! I wouldnt say its cheap but you defo get what you pay + they offer blue light discounts (always a plus) & have a lazy sumday (yes SUMday on SUNdays) - pay a set price. I will keep coming back here!
M. M.
Lazy Sundays offers an all you can eat smaller selection mainly focusing on dumplings and a few other items of the menu. Can easily go through the whole dumpling selection and more if your hungry. Everything tasted great but my two favourite items were the duck rolls and prawn chive dumplings.
V. Q.
We ordered the lazy Sunday - all you can eat menu - and it was really good. Dumplings are very tasty. I’ll be back to try other things in the menu. Totally recommended.
R. X.
Great food and perfect service. I have some food intolerances, so the waiter checked the menu and crossed off all the dishes I couldn't order. Still plenty to choose from, and very tasty. 3 dishes per person is more than enough.
R. M.
Absolutely loved the experience especially cause of the cute robot at the door. The food was okay. Great location.
S. E.
Overall I had a really positive experience here. The restaurant was very bustling and busy, but we were seated as a walk-in and greeted by very welcoming staff. The service continue in this vain throughout the evening - very friendly and attentive. A really nice vibe there as far as the staff were concerned, my friend and I both commented on this to one another. The food was really tasty, and there were plenty vegetarian and vegan options. However, the portion sizes were quite small for the price. And obviously not the most authentic dim sum in the world.. But still, we enjoyed it!
P. V.
Honestly, had pretty much every cocktail from that place😂 sat at the terrace, very cosy - surprisingly the gyozas aren't crispy, different, but nice, got some crispy wagyu rolls, a variety of dimsum (the display is a bit left down but it tastes pretty good), would be better if they had a larger selection of desserts 🍨
G. L.
Easy Sunday unlimited dum sum £24.95.
A few things on the menu unavailable but still plenty of choice. I eat anything and my friend is a pescatarian. So we ordered mainly veg and prawn dishes. I did get the duck spring rolls and they were good.
Lovely service from Anna and Christian.
J. M.
Very small dishes, expect to pay big £ if you want to leave full stomach!!! Not bad but expensive for what you get. Menu very limited. Not every thing available from menu. Disappointed!!!
A.
Nice location. Clean. Very professional staff. The only downside is that prices are too high for the quantity of food you get. But you'll be the judge. In the pictures are the portions we got for a: chocolate something dessert (can't remember the exact name), and the chicken katsu. But again, it might be me being biased as I'm used to pay much less for bigger quantities in Tokyo!
E. H.
Really lovely food and friendly service
We visited the Southbank branch and were served by Alex He was extremely friendly, attentive, explained the order process and brought our food very promptly. The food was delicious, definitely recommend the black prawn dumplings! Will happily revisit
S. S.
Superb pre-gig Happy Hour Dinner before the stunning Woodkid at Festival Hall Southbank Wed 17 Nov!
Maybe a chain but the food is lovely and the fabulously attentive service from our waitress Rowan set us up for a brilliant evening! Thank you - we'll be back!
R. M.
The food was delicious, the service was kind but a bit slow. We would have gotten desert and a second drink, but no one came by to take that order.
V.
I went here for the lazysunday it was nice, but you don't have a lot of choice and quote filled up with veggies options you don't have much options as its a small menu.
C. P.
Nice bottomless dim sum! The drinks kept flowing, super nice vibe and music
If you get a chance sit by the open kitchen to see the magic in action
M. F.
Can't recommend the bottomless brunch enough!! I thought there maybe wouldn't be enough food but I was definitely full when I left. The cocktails were amazing too and the service was great. Well worth a visit.
H. M.
Decent dim sum place, atmosphere and food was lovely. Would've given the place 5 stars but the only thing that let them down was table waiting time, we had to wait around 4 minutes before we could get the attention of staff which we found quite upsetting and mood killing. But saying that when staff did arrive they where happy to help and take orders and service when received was quick.
I would return here and give them another go!
A. O.
Had a lovely time. Very beautiful decor. Came for happy hour and was very satisfied. The cocktail with yuzu is fabulous
W. B.
Tightly packed venue, very busy hurried staff and cool robots, which unfortunately my colleagues and I believe had meant that we had missing items from our order. But with the NHS offer and happy hour sort of compensated for this. Will try this chain again on one of its Sunday all you can eat and see how things go then.
m.
For having a set menu for all in attendance on NYE.. it was kind of chaotic. Food was good and the service staff were amazing though. You could clearly see that they cared about the fact that an entire section of us in the first floor dining area had been more or less forgotten about by the kitchen..somehow.
Wonderful experience but unlikely to return for another NYE.
C. S.
Having visited the Ping Pong in Westfield White City, I knew the food would be great, and this site didn't disappoint!
We ordered a Vegan set menu, with extra items from the menu, so there was a lot of food, as mentioned, it was the usual Ping Pong standard, very fresh, hot, and super tasty!!
Our server, Miroslav, was a huge benefit, and helped us greatly! I am plant-based, so when I had questions regarding the vegan set menu, he was able to help me on the spot! Very impressive.. he was very attentive and friendly, and we felt taken care of.. We are returning for our Valentine's meal - and the service from Miroslav is one of the reasons why!!!
S. W.
I have heard great things about ping pong - they came highly recommended. Maybe I came on a bad night, but I wasn't that impressed, the service was slow and the food was average (I have never had dim sung before so maybe its like that?). It was cheep however, £18 a head, so I guess you could say it was value for money.
E. C.
We came here for Sumday brunch and it was packed, luckily we got a table. The food was surprisingly delicious, our favourites were the black prawn dumpling, crispy duck rolls, har gau and siew mai. It’s worth it if you can eat a lot of dim sum. 😂
S. D.
Large selection of Vegetarian and Vegan food. This fusion asian food.
L. O.
Very good food, the menu for £14.95 was delicious and value for money. Service slow but that maybe because of staff shortage. Our waitress really lovely. Will be visiting again soon
D. A.
Great looking place. Really good food and can't fault the service! Only issue was that they asked for the table back whilst we were still eating as our time slot was supposedly up and they needed the table back.
D. C.
Very nice atmosphere and customer service!
The sticky rice with chicken was very good and the dumplings were perfectly cooked.
The cocktails were nice too 💫
T. R.
Great food, but a pretty confusing menu and limited help with placing the orders, especially in busy hours. Very basic drink selection.
Lively atmosphere, but can get very noisy - we could barely hear each other from across the table.
K. K.
This is a great place. If it wasn't so loud, I would have given this 5 stars. The restaurant is really noisy so it can be hard to hear everyone around you. However, the food is really good!
The drinks are great to.
This place however, is not cheap!! Would love to go again, but will make sure I budget for it.
R. D.
Outdoor seating has heating and blankets are provided.
Food is good plenty of flavour.
Chocolate fondant dessert was great too. Perfect portion.
Three stars as I felt the service was too fast. Seemed rushed.
R. R.
I was here on the 10th May, 2021 from about 18.30 until 20.00 ish. The whole South Bank was pretty quiet. Ping Pong was quiet over this period. The food was pretty good 'Pan-Asian' fare. The service was good. Price ended up at around £30 each for a main, several sides and a half share in a bucket of beers. It was outside and the wind was whistling through the railway Arch above us. But I had a heater above me and good company.
All in all, a nice Covid free evening.
S. C.
Have never been to Ping Pong before, was recommended by a local and wow it was a great meal. We just kept order more little plates and between six of us and managed to get through a good chunk of the menu! All good, highlights were the vegan calamari and crystal prawns, delicious!
P. R.
Lovely tasty food near London eye
Nice atmosphere and chill music to enjoy the meat and have a talk.
Staff was nice specially the girl that looks like Dua Lipa .
Would come back without any doubt
T. Y.
Very busy & very cramped but food was good. Tasty dim sums - both steamed and fried. Cant fault the food. The Sharer 'Fried Shrimp Bao' was delicious. Meal for 4people, (incl. 1 Tsingtao large beer & 4 cocktails) came to £135 including Service.
O. V. H.
Pretty good food. Barely decent service. Rhis restaurant specializes in dum sim / appetizers. It was fun. Food was pretty good. Drinks were good. I had 5 different people / staff help me during dinner as 1 waiter for 1 customer seems to be an alien concept in london. But overall a pleasant experience.
L. M.
Afternoon lunch on Sunday doesn't need a reservation but people are packed in one section like sardines with the chairs and tables touching each other. Lack of attention to detail it had only one set of chop sticks on a table for two. After you order for food it takes a good 25 mins to arrive. It would have been nice if they were delivered as they got ready.
I must say the food is of a decent standard in line with its price.
If your at the southbank you have a lot of choice so i wouldn't suggest this as my top pick.
T. R. J. (.
Great food and unique tasty cocktails. Busy for a reason, it is a great place to eat and drink for everyone.
R. K.
Had some fantastic service by Sean on the 31st of Jan. Food was excellent and the service was really good. He was very attentive and super friendly
J. S. (.
Amazing food came quickly. Customer service is always on point; quite often the full menu isn't available so don't go with your choices already made or you may be slightly disappointed.
T. H.
Very nice scenery, the food was great alternative I didn’t enjoy all the vegan/ vegetarian options I chose. But the Pescatarian in me lovessssssss the shrimp/ fish dishes and spring rolled 😁. Will be going again
C. B.
We had a great table next to the window and enjoyed watching the coming and goings from Southbank. The location is popular and busy. The venue is modern and trendy and the food delicious. Service was a little slow due to how busy they were but the food came nice and quickly and was piping hot. I love the range of food on offer. They have excellent cocktails too!
G. M.
Totally great experience!!
This place is busy!! And I mean busy!!! Any restaurant in the southbank is slammed day and night. Arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and got a table straight away. Food came within 10 mins of ordering and service was impeccable. Well done ping pong!
S. D.
Came with my daughter- all hosts/waiting staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful- and great food and cocktails. We'll be coming back!
B. S.
Very nice food and service. We had to wait a bit for a table but it was worth it. Also, on a Friday night, without booking it's very unlikely to get the table instantly. Well recommend 👍
N. V.
It will suffice for customers who are craving for dim sum but are nowhere near Chinatown.
Tips:
Do try the siu mai.
Don't order the xiao long bao.
The rest is up to your own discretion
F. C.
Good food, quick service. Place was quite full, however no waiting time required. Would recommend for a relaxed dinner, as restaurant is quite busy, not very quiet. Still possible to have a conversation across the table..
Dim sum were good, however quite a number of sold out items by 8pm on a Wednesday.. which shouldn't happen.
Wine selection ok; opt for the tsingdao beer instead !
f. d.
Half price cocktails and dim sum on weekdays between 3 and 6pm but does get busy so pre-book.
A. W.
BEAUTIFUL food 😍 The atmosphere was perfect too... a lovely set up! First time I’ve been able to get out in a while because of Covid and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a bit difficult to get the attention of the staff but they are very friendly once you grab them lol. Thank you!
J.
Excited about the concept of bottomless drinks and dimsum set menu. Service was abit lacking. We asked if 3 of us could have the set menu and the other person could just have it off the menu I dont know why it warranted to speak to a manager, but it just made us feel like a simple question and we were already in the wrong. It didn't matter so much as it wasn't allowed but I guess it was just the tone. That definitely set the tone for the rest of the meal. But good company always revives that.
Starters were good, nice and hot in temperature crispy and nice accommodating sauces. But the dimsum could have improved on flavour. I felt like the dimsums was alittle doughy if not for the soy sauce.
The bottomless drinks between 4 of us was 2 jugs. Although sounding very appetisting, I was very dissapointed in the lack of taste of alcohol in these cocktails, I would have thought they were mocktails but maybe this is my personal preference. I tried all 4 cocktails and if I was to choose, blackberry Bay. Given a 2 hour timeslot, empty tables but was given the bill without even asking. Southbank is a hotspot and they probably have walkin guests all the time, but amping up the service provided by servers will encourage customers to come back. Polite but no rapport between customers. I dont think I would return.
D. C.
Make a booking! The restaurant was packed even though it was the middle of the week. The food was good, served promptly and reasonably priced (for central London). Definitely worth considering.
l.
Ping pong never lets you down, reasonable priced, fast service and quite a lot of seating makes it a very good option to have dinner. Food quality its pretty good, everything taste delicious.
L. R.
We visited on Sunday for a boozy bottomless brunch. It was fantastic. The food came out quickly, as did the cocktails! Everything tasted great and they quickly offered to refill our drinks without asking. Definitely got our money's worth!
Y. “. P.
Normal food. Just ok service. Had an impression that staff were trained to kick out customers as soon as possible as it is busy spot. If you want just a quick food yes but if you want to talk and enjoy your time, think twice.
M. J.
Love this place. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is very good, good selection, quick service. Great dim sum.
c.
Such an Awesome restaurant! So much choice, and every dish was delicious, will have to make multiple visits to try everything.
M. K.
Came for a birthday brunch, we had a great time with amazing food and drink and Kit Mackenzie was so helpful and made the nigh. Would highly recommend the bottomless brunch with a serving of Kit on the side…
J. J.
I hadn't visited Ping Pong in a long time and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was efficient, the food healthy and tasty (albeit a bit salty). The price tag was fairly reasonable especially if you order a set menu. Would return.
C.
Well inspired and creative food and drinks menu. Friendly staff. Last minute change in policy ment I couldn't utilise a deal for no other reason than the managers decision. Waiting staff were apologetic for this and did their best to compensate. I can't blame staff for a managers poor decisions but discount was still being advertised at time of "discontinued" at the restaurant.
a. o. c.
Great food but a tad pricey. Will always be a fan though!
A. S.
Little bit disappointed with the food. It was good but not great, better dim sum for a lot less ££ in Chinatown. Can't fault the interior and service. 3.5 Stars
J. G.
Awesome food with great service. Went in by chance and had a fantastic experience. Totally worth the money you spend.
B. C.
This place was pretty big, so there are a lot of seating options and we had no problem getting in with a rather large group. The food was really good and I liked the fact they had the meal for 1 or 2 options, which I decided to go with since everything on them looked good. Staff was friendly and they let us split up our bills as we wanted. Definitely a place I would visit again and recommend!
R. P.
Really nice restaurant the service was excellent staff are very friendly also the food was good and all of the dishes were piping hot👌
A. C.
Came here tonight and was greeted instantly with a warm welcoming service. The staff are all very friendly especially Chloe and Sakithya. Definitely come here!!
G. M.
Been there a couple of times. Menu easy to understand and order, super polite and welcoming staff despite last time we went there late. We've been advised we had to order ASAP, as kitchen was about to close and the place would have shut in 45 mins. Despite that weiters were helpful and professional and food was great as always!
L. C. (. P.
Just a place for a quick lunch
D. W.
Absolutely amazing food. Everything we ordered was perfect. Wish there was Ping Pong restaurants in Glasgow!
Also managed to get us a table when we never booked one, even though the restaurant was extremely busy. Really nice staff.
B. B.
I heard about the nee vegan menu (ask for it as they don't give it out automatically) and decided to give it a go here! Firstly , the service was great! It was busy so we were taken upstairs with s buzzer and ordered a drink whilst we waited (which was only 15 mins) and were taken to our table . The food was absolutely delicious, the vegan menu is as good as the non-vegan (i ate there also in my pre-vegan days) and i would certainly go back again. We had 6 dishes in total and a hot pot of tea for two and it came to around £35 between us but we took home a doggy bag so could have easily have spent less!
V. L.
Great food and service! Got served our little dishes pretty quickly and it all tasted great
Excellent standards of hygiene and upkeep during the pandemic
A. S.
Always super busy, but staff are fairly attentive. Our experience was tainted by poor service, but the food was on point as always
F. V.
It's OK, a very very busy place! Try and book if you can. Once Sat down the service is OK. Not like the other ping pongs though. Everyone is going at 100mph. The lady that served us was nice and efficient and attentive. The guy that served us was moody and we had to ask him a few time just to bring cutlery to the table even then he just bought knifes (no forks!!!) Good veggie options!
L. W.
Got some of our dishes wrong a few times but gave it all as extra for free and got us our ordered ones.
All dishes very delicious.
f.
Friendly staff, delicious food. Perhaps clearer information about portion sizes (e.g. You get 3 dumplings in some orders and 5 in others but this was not clear) and suggested amounts of food to order per person would be helpful.
J.
A great pre night out eatery. You'll definitely want to pre-book during peak times due to its popularity, walks in are possible.
We tried a selection of dim sum - great presentation and taste. Staff are friendly and efficient. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait long for our order to arrive. Not the cheapest but the location on the Southbank and it's proximity to many bars and London sights, make it a winner.
A. C.
Great Location. Waiting time can be a while. the steamed dumplings & cocktails tastes really nice and fresh! What I liked is while you are waiting you are given an electronic handheld device with a number , so you can pop outside or run to the bar or bathroom. When your number is up it vibrates to let you know your table is ready. 😊 I suggest going there with a chatty friend or colleagues, as it can get loud, if you're too quiet you can find yourself drowning in others conversations ( lol) .
I. S.
A great selection of food and drinks with a unique ordering system (mark it off with a pencil on your menu and someone will bring you your food)!
There’s also a great atmosphere with an open area to see into the kitchens.
C. B.
Service was good. Food was good.
Most small (dumpling, siu mai, spring rolls) came in 3 pieces. The sticky rice in lotus leaf dish was much smaller than what I'm used to but they were 2 instead.
There was a handful of gluten free options which was really good to find outside the rice dishes.
Between two, we had 10 dishes as a late lunch/pre theatre meal. Managed to take advantage of "who gives a shitake" (happy hour) so the bill was also good at £68 with 12. 5% service charge which the staff deserved!
The ladies' toilet cubicles we're tiny. I have a small stature and still required creative manuveres. Would be more a challenge for some. But they were clean.
Overall, we left satisfied and had a leisurely walk along the river to the Globe. Worked out well!
M. S.
The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning.
D. S. R.
Since I know a lot about Oriental food, there is still room for improvement... especially I paid £12.65 for the crispy prawn rice and well
L. V.
Such good food, drinks and service! I had a bunch of flowers and a waiter came over and put them in water for me, courteous and example of excellent customer service. Excited to come back
N. M.
Great food, atmosphere and drinks ! Good portion size too
B. I. L.
not cheap dim sum, average taste
T. M. S.
The place looks great. I'm not well accustomed to Chinese food, but to me it was okay. Friendly staff.
C. v.
Great experience but lacked a lot of menu items, had to substitute.
J. K.
Good service though the food was small servings for such a huge price overall
J. H.
First time here and baffled a little by the menu. Staff were very helpful, lovely setting. Delicious food and very pleased with half price menu and cocktails.
A. K.
Beautiful ambience!! Great food !! Love the black prawn dumpling
D. M.
Great service, good quality food but small portion sizes so expensive
R.
Had the buffet food and booze. Very happy, quick and friendly service.
K. S.
Noodle and rice dishes were rubbish!! But the dim sum is really good. So were the cocktails!!
D. L.
Had a brilliant Saturday afternoon with the girls. Food delicious and cocktails plentiful...loved it. Will recommend and return.
K. K.
Amazing place, good quality food. Make a reservation as the place is very popular and gets quite busy!
S. C.
Though the food was good and surroundings nice , the service was not great , make sure you check your bill , a £21 service charge was added to my mine .
Y. J.
Food is still top quality with a special menu for the Chinese New Year.
J. S.
Beautiful setting and atmosphere. It can be quite packed sometimes, delicious food for a reasonable price. They even have offers between 9 and 11 which makes it even more affordable.
H.
Great food, splendid service. Always find myself back at Ping Pong.
R. G.
Great dim sum. Was very tasty. Cocktails were great. Fairly pricey
J. H.
Great food and great service but music far too loud for normal conversation
G. R.
Dim Sum is as good as it always is. Kids even had a try of everything so its an ideal place for the family. Disappointed with staff knowledge of the menu. Also, the temporary plastic screens are clumsy and make the dining experience feel clinical. Other restaurants have been more creative in providing screening and after 8months of Covid, it feels a bit lazy. Overall though, we had a good meal.
T. d.
Great food and cocktails. Clean plates
C. Y.
GREAT FOOD AND EPIC STAFF! Highly recommend this Restaurant. One love
N. A.
Absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the Black Prawn dumplings and Char Siu buns!
J. D.
Definitely overpriced for the food and the quantity you get. Otherwise nice location and very good service !
M.
Great food, knowledgeable and upfront service, lots of GF veggie options. Great alternative to wagamamas
P. P.
I always love the Dim Sum and Cocktails.
R. D.
Really good food, friendly staff and not pushy about moving you on when you are done.
C. S.
Lovely restaurant, good food, friendly staff. We came here after an exhibition and were satisfied with the COVID measures and the food. There is sanitizer at the door. There is a plastic barrier between tables and they are placed far enough apart and waiters wear masks.
We had a lovely dinner and ended up sitting for longer than 2 hours but were accommodated and not rushed out. Cocktails were also good.
G. W.
Actually rather excellent - fantastic value with the set meal option, it's definitely recommended and great service
A. S.
Served by Gino who was super helpful and attentive, excellent food and amazing service 😌
M. G.
Difficult to work out how much to order. Dim Sum for western tastes. Expensive for a light meal.
K. T.
High quality dim sum and a terrific space. Perfect pre-concert dining.
A. M.
Nice dim sum! Generally a good menu with lots of choice, and set menu available for a quick ordering option with variety.
Service is pretty slow, but to be expected with the amount of tables. However once the waitress / waiter arrives, pretty good service received and knowledgable about the menu (and hit the nail on the head when it came to recommendations for dishes.)
Loos are pretty filthy though....
e. w. o. R.
Excellent dim sum restaurant with a bit of Asian fusion thrown in. I had some prawn crackers with crispy prawn balls and some dumplings. Top class versions of all of these dishes with a chocolate fondant to finish. Also had a lemongrass drink which was nice and refreshing. Down in London for a few days and I'll probably come back tomorrow. One minor criticism is the annoying timer from the kitchen which bleeps every few minutes. Other than that a joy. Pretty good value at just under £14
L.
We always have a great time at Ping Pong and our latest visit was no exception. Special shout-out to our waiter Gino who provided brilliant service and made our birthday guest feel extra special.
L.
Had a great time here. Food is great. Good buzz.
S. C.
We visited to try some of the Chinese New Year specials and it was quite good.
C. m.
Good to have cocktails during happy hour. Food pretty average. Busy as it's near Southbank. Service staff were good.
g. y.
The food is very good, we did the dim sum menu of individual dishes. Excellent service, they even ask about allergies and handled mine very carefully, including highlighting dishes that contain the allergen. Everything was very tasty and full of flavor. Highly recommend ordering extra sauces to try different combinations.
J. G.
I liked it. Pretty cool decor, reminiscent of a Japanese gyōza place. Food was good, arrives when it's ready rather than everyone getting the food altogether. Some good set menus with a good selection of their food on.
One of my irks is that service charge was added without asking. Service wasn't the greatest either but it was a midweek lunch time so maybe the service is better at peak times.
Overall, good experience.
E. R.
I loved the food and it came quite quickly. The lychee drink is very tasty.
W. T.
Went on a Sunday night and booked a table online the night prior. Took a while for the staff to notice us waiting at the entrance. I'm East Asian and I'd say the food was tasty but not spectacular. I was more distracted by how noisy and packed to capacity this place was despite the pandemic, but at least they had acrylic dividers between tables.
M. A.
We went there on Saturday 10 January. We had booked, it took a while before they knew where we were seated.
When we ordered the waiters forgot half of the stuff and forgot to tell us that several items were not available anymore so we sat there waiting for a while. for something that was not coming. They did make it up by putting it on the house.
The service needs work, the bathroom needs a lot of work, there was no toilet paper and the soap came out of a big industrial tub that you had to pick up yourself and pour in your hands.
The food is nice but pricey
N.
Good food. Loved the set menu options. We added some spare ribs and prawn toast to our order which were both delicious. There was a lot of food and we left feeling very well fed.
The children's set menu was good too - with healthy and tasty dishes.
k. w.
Great place. Awesome food. Brilliant staff. Amazing bang for buck if you want an upper mid market Hong Kong dining experience.
M.
I loved everything about the place: service, food. Tables are too close to each other though, and it could be very uncomfortable. As in my case, we finished out dinner and when we were eating desserts our neighbours started their dinner and they sat so close to us that we could smell their food. Overall ur is a very nice place and very attentive staff. And food is delicious and inexpensive. I will definitely come back.

Good fun. The sauce with the duck spring rolls is out of this world!
J. G.
Very nice to get back after surviving on Ping Pong home delivery. Staff sang happy birthday to my husband with no prompting which was wonderful.
c.
We made use of the Sunday lunchtime deal which allowed unlimited Dim Sum. The deal is cheaper for children and this was worth it. I am not sure I can eat dinner later today though!
N. F.
The food is good albeit overpriced for what you actually end up getting (much cheaper and tastier options in Chinatown....) But in a pinch, it's a reliable place to go. My waiter was nice and did a fine job, but his fingers nails were literally black with dirt under them. Unbelievable. Makes me wonder if they ever insist the staff wash their hands? It was truly gross. If you wait tables you need to have good hand hygiene. Seriously. Unacceptable.
T. R.
The dim sum here was super! The service was a bit slow but it was actually okay because the for we got was always fresh and delicious.
T. H.
Good location, friendly service. Standard Ping Pong menu which is perfectly acceptable if uninspired.
It's got quite expensive.
M. J.
Good food. Let down by the service.
We went here as a group of 7 and a toddler. It took them 15 mins to get us a table which was alright as we reached 20 mins before our reservation time. It was a Saturday night and it was fairly busy and felt like the staff was quite overwhelmed.
The food was good as is with the other Ping Pong restaurants. We ordered quite a lot as were a big group and all the dishes were pretty good. We particularly liked prawn bao and spicy chicken dim sum.
We had to try hard to get attention every time we wanted to order which felt a bit frustrating. It wasn't the staff's fault as they definitely short on the numbers.
If only they had enough staff, our experience would have been so much better. 4 stars for the food and -1 for the service so 3 stars feels about right.
R. T.
The place has good cocktail options as well as the food was pretty decent. However, the portion sizes are small so you need to order 3-4 dishes per person for a reasonable meal. The waiters do point this out while taking your order so all fair and square. The food itself was pretty tasty with none if items we ordered turning out to be a disappointment. The place is very crowded though so do yourself a favor and make a reservation in advance, if you can.
S.
Far from traditional dim sum but still an interesting experience. Slightly pricey was the only downside in my opinion
C. C.
Fantastic food. Great quality. Ribs and chicken skewers so good. I'm only dropping star as price. It's a sting of a bill for small portions. Salad s are particularly meager on content. But all cooked to perfection and served with a smile. £92 for three with one bottle of house wine. No other drinks.
J. H.
Food and service has never let me down. Have been to a few of the restaurants around London and have always left feeling satisfied. Great for dates, nibble food - minimal mess, nice cocktails and a good atmosphere
S. M.
The food is decent and so is the service. Tables can be hard to come by at busy times, but waiting system is efficient. My only gripe is that the menu doesn't change as often as you may like and you'll often find an item or two out of stock. The set menu is small, a starter not a main, but ordering more is only a chore on the wallet and not the palate. Best visited with friends to sample more and spread the bill.

Amazing place to go if you’d like somewhere different and tasty!
A. C.
I love the creativity at Ping Pong - my paparazzi cocktail! Capturing moments with my Swiss family - great place to go for a shared evening #DimSum #TheArtOfSharing #LoveLondon
M. S.
We went for a lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was quite busy and we were sat quickly. However, there was a bit too much waiting time between the moment our order was taken and the moment we were served. Dumplings were good but I have had better ones in other restaurants around London. Staff seems a lot busy, not sure whether it is always like this or if there were understaffed.
M. N.
Decent vegan options, although would be nice with some more texture differences in the set menus, for example with fried spring rolls. Confusing service, more than three different waiters. The attention is nice but I prefer having a dedicated waiter who knows my table, rather than being asked if I ordered every other minute.
R. M.
Great food. Lovely place to eat. Hadn't booked went in on off chance. Only waited 5 min for table. Staff were polite and efficient showing us to table explained the menu. Would definitely go again.
A. S.
You have to love the food but pricey!
B. W.
We stopped by at Ping Pong for an afternoon meal. The food was lovely - delicious DimSum and sushi, broccoli, sticky rice, children's set meals, buns... nothing to fault really. The layout was technically a bit of a challenge due to the welcome desk/queue being just outside the front door but at a crossroads with other access routes - meaning people were getting stuck in a bit of a bottle-neck. We were given the option to sit at a table located on a long narrow corridor (in a sort of conservatory area). We weren't sure if this was causing confusion to the waiters and waitresses, but parts of our order took a lot longer than expected...including a beer that arrived around 20 minutes late after asking several different people. So, in all, the interior could do with a bit of a redesign to simplify table arrangements and the flow of people, and the staff could do with some better training so as to not miss people's orders. Other than that it was very enjoyable and the kids even had fun navigating back and forth from the toilets amid all the chaos!
R. J.
An absolute must. The most awesome dim sums imaginable. The ingredients were prepared in a way that was both tasty and healthy. The cocktails were also incredibly good and... loaded! The location is perfect to enjoy food while watching the world go by in London. The décor is also enchanting.
A. S.
We got some of the sharing options with a mixed variety of dumplings but I wasn't too impressed with the taste, few were particularly different to the others and most were pretty bland. The noise level was stressful to be honest. I have previously eaten at the SoHo location where I loved the food but the noise level there was also too high.
B. K.
Great place to have lunch will reurn service great .
J. W.
Happy to see the seating is now more private with less shared tables. Menu is always changing and the wine list is pretty reasonable for a 'quick eats' place.
There were gaps in service and I would have liked it if the outdoor area in spring and summer was dog friendly.
On the whole, a great place for a good quality, speedy lunch.
M. P.
There is a great vegan-veggie variety and everything tastes good for a very busy and high turnover restaurant like this. The staff was accommodating and quite enthusiastic for a Friday night!
However the portions are quite small and it is quite annoying when you are 2 people and most sharing plates have 3 pieces instead of 4.
I guess it is a marketing technique or just translating the price just below £7 on average.
A. B.
Had a lunch time meal here at the shared tables. The food is an array of smaller dishes that are best shared (though either annoyingly or conveniently depending on your dining companions things mostly come in 3s)
There was no bad dishes in the selection we had, with the pork dumplings standing out as being the most delicious.
Service was quick and attentive. You don't have to wait long for the food to arrive.
Only blot was that a number of items were not available, so we had to finish our order three times! Probably should have told us about this upfront... Then they accidentally charged us more than we had eaten but this was quickly resolved.
N. N.
Been here loads of times. Food is reasonably priced for the area and pretty tasty. It may not be the most authentic dim sum restaurant, but it ticks most of the boxes. Good place to go in a group so you can try a wider range of dishes. Cocktail list is quite original with plenty of options.
M. K.
Lovely food and amazing service from Gino!
J. H. U.
Worth waiting for a table here!
This may well be the Oriental version of fast food, but you are unlikely to want to leave in a hurry.
Service is quick, serving staff knowledgeable, the ordering system doesn't require you to learn another language.
Pricing is pretty reasonable for a prime location eatery in London.
R. T.
Vibes were great, staff were attentive and courteous.
A. R.
Good menu selection, tasty food.
M. S.
Interestingly other people have given me mixed feedback about this restaurant but I have to say I enjoyed my visit immensely. If you don't want to break the bank, consider sharing. Good customer service. Great nosh. Easy to access location if you don't want to get involved with London Underground for those of us in SW London.
C. W.
Great atmosphere and cocktails but limited gluten-free menu. For two people the bill came to around £75 for one cocktail and 4 dishes each so it's not very cheap either. More of a pay day splash out!
A. D.
Highly recommend.
A jewel in the Southbank.
Wide food and drinks menu/ superb cocktails.
Efficient, friendly and approachable staff.
They made us feel like the only customers there, all requests quickly catered for.
There's a quieter area to dine on the side.
My daughter finds large crowds very difficult and suffers from anxiety, this was perfect for her . We could at last all enjoy a family meal together.
They go the further mile

Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. Always very busy so make sure to book ahead. There is table service but it's a little different to other restaurants. To order food you are given a menu, a sheet of paper with all the dishes on it and a pencil! You have to tick the dishes you want, then a waiter will come, take note of what you've chosen and order it for you. It can be a little confusing and you have to keep an eye on what you've ordered and what comes to the table because the place is always so busy (hence the 4 stars) but, apart from the occasional blip, a fantastic, fun place to eat with delicious food and cocktails (the Chinese Zombie is especially good and waaaay too easy to drink!). The set menus are a great choice if you are unsure about what to order.
F. h.
The food was extravagant. The duck melted in you mouth like ice cream on a warm day and it was followed up by the crunch of the cucumber, and don't get me started on the spice onions and the Hoi sin sauce they worked together like to peas in a pod. Also the staff were very polite. I really do recommend ping pong as it is the best dim sum restaurant in Britain.😁😁
S. S.
Wonderful location and great dim sums. The food and service never disappoints. Sunday brunch menu is a must try. The restaurant also offers some semi outside /patio like seating - making it a lovely option for a beautiful sunny day.
R. P.
Really food dim sum here. Set menus are really affordable and good variety of dishes. Also do a NUS discount (15%)
P. P.
Good food - ordered the set menu for 2 which had a good mix of pork, chicken, veg and prawn dumplings, with duck spring rolls and prawn crackers, and a mockail Pina colada, and it averaged out to £20 each for 2 people which is average for a London restaurant. Our friends are vegetarian and there was enough choice for them too. Toilets were clean. Staff were friendly. Not much I can fault. I'd come back again 👍
L. A.
A fancy restaurant close to Southbank where you can enjoy far-East Asian food at its finest. Booking in advance is recommended, given the popular location. Staff is friendly and superpolite. You can reach this place easily from Waterloo Station (ca. 3-5 minutes walk). Excellent place to dine with a group of friends!
A. W.
Normally I really like pingpong but we went for our Christmas dinner and I wasn't that impressed with the Christmas menus. For the price at £25 I felt the food was disappointing. I also paid for a £15 drinks package, which was a mistake because the cocktail was odd tasting and didn't seem to contain any alcohol. On our table of 12 there were 8 cocktails left not drunk and the waiter did not ask if there was a problem and just cleared them all away. That meant most of us paid £15 for half a bottle of wine because we did not drink the cocktail. I also did not find the chairs and table very comfortable, upstairs they are low cushions stools rather than seats.
I would recommend avoiding the Christmas menus and ask to be sat downstairs.
R. W.
Fab food and service. But the young lady at front of house treated us very oddly when we turned up at 430 pm without having made a booking. She insisted that we would need to leave by 6 pm as all the tables were booked by then (fair enough, but my partner had been told 3 hours before no need to book, and when we said this she went on a rant about how this might have been true yesterday but wasn't today, which was odd).
And the place was still not full by 6, so we were able to stay. Which was good news. But this would have been really off putting for some people.
D. C.
First time experience for this restaurant. Initial impression where good, with the staff helpful and the vibe and décor all very appealing. Can either eat on a communal table or private tables. We went for the private table for 2 and even then the tables where so close it felt you were on the same table as the people next to you. Apart from that the food was fantastic with the dumplings to die for.
Great food and definitely worth the visit.
N.
As a chain, this has good dim sum options which are not too adventurous like a more authentic Chinese restaurant - very palatable though.
One star docked because our waiter brought still water to the table without asking us. We assumed it was tap water brought out of courtesy but then was consequently charged for it on the bill. The manager apologised but still this was a sneaky tactic so beware.
Otherwise, recommended if you're the area.
B. A.
Have been coming to this ping pong for years, and there a reason why. The food is served promptly and the staff are very friendly. The Dim Sumdays is a great deal with all you can eat on a Sunday and the staff don't rush you to leave. Thoroughly enjoy coming here
E. E.
I had a great time there, but most importantly I ate amazing food! It's such a lovely place, conveniently located and the atmosphere there is really amazing. It's a great place to visit with friends and family. Will certainly reccomend it, as my friends did to me and it was totally worth the visit!
N. M. A.
The place as ok. Nice location nice setting. If I'm honest I think the food is a little pricy considering the size of the portions but they taste decent. The staff weren't too great, they weren't really friendly, maybe because there was a large bunch of us, they were also very strict with how long we had to eat and kept rushing us to order
O. C.
Food good service not great. They're probably overrun with tourists all day making the work a bit tedious and tiring. Waited some time at the door before being seated at around 3pm. Food came pretty quickly. Fair value.
a. a.
Good dim sum best was roasted duck good service great ambiance a little over priced Lovely attitude!!!cheers
m.
Faultless service from start to finish. Thanks for making our experience awesome 😊
A. K.
Love it. All the food was delicious but the duck spring rolls impressed me the most. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. The cocktails we tried we're great as well. I highly recommend the place.
J. B.
We had a wonderful lunch here after taking our daughter put for her 1st birthday. The staff were so friendly and even gave her a free birthday dessert! Thanks so much
N. D.
Pretty good for London Asian food, char sui buns are to die for 😍 and while half the staff aren't always the friendliest or attentive, the others go the extra mile to make up for it so I guess that levels it out. 🤷♀️ Enjoyed their cocktails though they're pretty strong 💪
G. G.
Best food ever and lovely service...always happy after eating here..they need to open a branch in Cardiff 😊😊
R. M.
Busy & bustling restaurant, a bit of a wait for a table but not a problem as you can wait in the comfy upstairs bar. Lovely atmosphere and very tasty food that was quick to arrive. Service was also very good.
T. L.
Top quality Dim-sum, good service and nice atmosphere. Last there on a Sunday night and was busy and quite full. It is quite expensive - I would not recommend going in hungry as the portions are not huge. Also has an interesting range of cocktails.
N. C.
My friends and I went for lunch with two 6 month old babies. It's always a concern whether somewhere will be 'baby friendly'. Ping pong was great. We fit both buggies, high chairs were provided. It was great.
The food was delicious, we had a set menu which was plenty for two. Our friends got a selection, which looked great too.
Really nice experience.
W. W. L.
Not authentic Chinese food, but the some dishes were still (surprisingly) good - such as the claypot chicken rice. Some disbes were average, and some dishes were fairly disappointing. It really depends on your taste and preference too. It is usually quite packed on the weekend, but the queue was not long. Servicing standard from the staff was not bad.
E. D.
Rice was undercooked, but my server Mo incredible, spectacular, legend, Absolute King, so friendly.
D. G.
Love it here. Delicius dishes, and if you like posh dim sum you're in the right place! The waiting time for a table can be up to one hour or more at busy times! There is a nice bar whilst waiting for a table. The chocolate fondant desert is simply AMAZING. On the pricey side.
B. R.
Review from a happy coeliac!
Some dishes are great, some are just okay and some I would pass on. Another influence on the moderate 3 star score is that this place when popular is very noisy - lots of sound and hard surfaces means conversation can be challenging - a bane within lots of London eateries.
However there is a 5 star element to this otherwise 'okay' review. At Ping Pong, and hardly anywhere else, you can get Gluten Free Dim Sum! This alone is worth at least one visit. In my case . . . at least half a dozen visits! :-)
A. J.
Very busy and overcrowded. Staff try their best but simply too busy to provide good service. Atmosphere is manic and music is too loud. Food is fine but not good value for money, portion of prawn crackers had 4 crackers. We all left feeling hungry and with a bit of a headache.
Would reccommend making the walk to Soho for real dim sum.
s.
Probably my favourite restaurant in London. The food is delicious and served quickly, the cocktails are also fantastic. Would highly recommend. Does however get very busy on the weekends, expect to wait 30mins for a table on a weekend evening.
I. T.
Food is delicious and staff are welcoming

We went there on Saturday 10 January. We had booked, it took a while before they knew where we were seated. …

The food is very good, we did the dim sum menu of individual dishes. Excellent service, they even ask about allergies and handled mine very carefully, including highlighting dishes that contain the allergen. Everything was very tasty and full of flavor. Highly recommend ordering extra sauces to try different combinations.

Haven’t been here for ages and it’s noticeably improved. Great service. Warm and helpful. Food was fantastic too. Defiantly worth a visit if you need something quick but tasty.

I liked it. Pretty cool decor, reminiscent of a Japanese gyōza place. Food was good, arrives when it's ready rather than everyone getting the food altogether. Some good set menus with a good selection of their food on. …

Average food...Could have been better for the price we paid.... staffs were nice and friendly though. Shame.. will have to give it a miss next time round.

The team at Ping Pong are outstanding. Delicious food along with attentive service. A real credit to the London Dim sum seen.
D. T.
Enjoyable meal. Very accommodating and friendly staff, great customer service. Would return again.
L. B.
I love their dim sum and our kids are happy with sticky rice. They are usually friendly even with demanding clients with kids. Before refurbishment it was more on the drink lot side (lucky them) but now they shifted toward mass market keeping the food quality.
C. A.
Nice food, with a great atmosphere. We had a good selection of food, which was delivered quickly, despite the restaurant being full. Flavours are not overly strong, but the food is tasty. Very helpful and welcoming staff.
I. T.
Great little eat! Service here was fantastic, the most attentive waitress and really made the whole meal so pleasant. Food was great and love those bau buns 👍🏽 they have kids options also which was helpful. Overall price is reasonable and the location is just perfect for when you've toured about the South bank for the day. Highly recommend!
A.
We went for the lazy Sunday all you can eat dim sum and included the prosecco option and it was great. The food was fresh, tasty and there was a good selection included in the deal. Particular favourites were the duck spring rolls and the pork steamed buns. The only negative was that the ladies toliets were not up to scratch, there was no toliet paper and they had clearly not been checked all day.
P. W.
Brunch menu has changed. Not for the better. Food still lovely & hot cocktsils were refreshing.
R. P.
Very good dim sum options. Staff was friendly, nice and very precise even helping us with a party of 8. They had a special menu for a friend that has serious sea food allergies and everything was great. Good place I would certainly come back.
L. D.
Food amazing. Seating was ok. New rules were made which provided a better experience. Menu changed from previous which wasn't as ideal for everyone.
D. E.
Having booked a table for 10 people on a VERY busy and warm Saturday evening, 13 people arrived and the staff were extremely accommodating to our needs and making alternative seating arrangements.
The food was delicious as were the drinks (which arrived like 2 minutes after ordering!!!)
A great evening.
T. M.
Big place with a nice-ish, slightly sterile atmosphere producing dumplings which are just ok. Good for large groups or if there’s really no time until the theatre (and it genuinely isn’t bad at all) but otherwise there are many better dim sum places in London.
J. L.
If this is your first time here try the roast pork puffs. If you are a regular here try the roast pork puffs.... If you are thinking, I wonder if there roast pork puffs are any good? Then try the roast pork puffs. Keep up the great work here. But try and book a table as this place does get very busy.
E.
Lovely reastaurant in a fantastic location on the Southbank. Reasonable prices and great choice of dim sum, oriental food, drinks. It can be crammed from time to time, so waiting time can extend, but the staff is very helpful and there's a nice lounge upstairs where to wait and taste drinks and cocktails.
j. s.
Pleasant evening with some of my colleagues.
However, the place is really Noisy so it was quite complicate to speak with each other.
Moreover, for Vegan, the menu is limited but they have created a separate menu which make your choice easier!!
Finally, the waitress was really nice and she applied my student reduction to all the bills!!
B. Y.
Great Saturday brunch, loads of food and drink included in the price, staff are very nice and accommodating!
S. P.
Haven’t been here for ages and it’s noticeably improved. Great service. Warm and helpful. Food was fantastic too. Defiantly worth a visit if you need something quick but tasty.
M. B.
Very tasty and well prepared Dim Sum food, although the portion sizes (3 small items per dish) feel a bit meagre given the prices.
The staff were friendly and attentive and had no problems accommodating our 15 month old son and keeping him entertained throughout the meal.
M. K.
Came for a quick bite at lunch. Food was great, very trendy looking place. Ordered an iced tea and the crispy duck spring rolls amongst other things and both were amazing. Can sit outside too. Definitely worth a try
H. B.
This place was decent, and still is but the quality of food has finished with time. A few of my favourites are no longer on the menu. But all in all still good and a few new additions for the menu are really nice
T. R.
Food was lovely definitely recommend
K.
Used to be better. Busy Tuesday when the weather was extremely hot and the AC within can't cope with the number of people. A lot of the menu was sold out, including Roast Pork Puffs (my fav and only reason for going). Some new items are ok, menu is reduced in size a LOT. Took AGES for the last two dishes to arrive, but they were supplied FOC due to us complaining. Overall ok, but wouldn't rush back. Some of the smaller Ping Pong restaurants would be better.
W. W.
What a great place. Staff super friendly. They are also very professional - the next door table had a blowout because the soft shell crab was off the menu and stormed out. The manager gave us their bottle of wine. Result. #winning.
N. S.
Food was great and our main waiter was fab, and really funny. Unfortunately one of the waitresses was a bit grumpy and when I tried to enquire about my menu spoke to me quite rudely and interrupted me. Other than that lovely drinks and food.
S. D.
First time here and enjoyed the food.
S. G.
Dumplings are great, service... I don't know. Apparently I was seated after 1 hour waiting on a Wed night after being told it takes ca. 20 mins because the buzzer didn't work "I've been calling you..". Not sure that I wasn't noticed though during the repeated rounds to check on people on the waiting list at the bar upstairs. Total time to be served from entering the door ca. 1:15... Table a bit sticky. Soya sauce jar dirty. ..What is the service charge actually covering?
I. N.
Visited Ping Pong Southbank to celebrate my 30th birthday with my mum – the staff were outstandingly attentive, right down to the candle in my dessert to mark my special day. We stayed for a good few hours and really enjoyed the bottomless dim sum – it was my mum’s first time visiting so it was nice to show her how great the food is.
L. D.
Great asian, fast and at great price
Recommended!
C. B.
Great, busy atmosphere, and tasty food. Even the wine I had (malbec) was better than most restaurants. Service was quite quick even when they were slammed. Try any of the steamed dumplings.
R. S.
It just OK. Service OK. Food just about OK. Would not make an effort to come here again.
A. B.
Slightly difficult to get attention of the staff. Food and drinks were perfect. Why do all restaurants close at 22.30?? How is that helping the economy?
D. N.
I've been here a couple of times and liked it, but not this time. There was a rice dish in my vegi set menu that was horrible. The rest seemed a bit bland, mybe because of the chilli in the rice dish? Add to that it was noisy and humid, it was not great lunch.
V. M.
Really great atmosphere and food for the bottomless brunch. The bubbly wasn't very nice though.
R. W.
They let us make our own dumplings! They were very fresh and healthy, the staff taught us how to fold they into different shapes. It was difficult but very fun. Then they steamed them and didn't add any salt to keep it healthy and they were very delicious. Try them all!
M. G.
Nice food and they coped really well with us turning up in several groups & needing to join about 7 tables together!
Happy with the food (very tasty!) And staff were friendly, too!
P.
Quite an affordable place in London for Dim Sum. This is the second time I've been to Ping Pong in Southbank and both times the experience has been pleasurable.
The set menu is a good idea if it's your first time there, but I just love the cocktails they have available. I was expecting slightly bigger portions, but if you're not a big eater then this place will have it all for you.
S. W.
Always enjoy my time here! My first visit to any Ping Pong branch was to this one here in Southbank. Celebrating a special occasion (as we did on my first visit), after work food and drinks, pre-show bite or date night; this is a perfect venue for each of these and more!
The food is filling while being tapas style - usually each dish is served in 3's; 3 gyoza in one portion, 3 spring rolls in one portion etc) with the idea that you choose between 4-5 dishes per person! It always arrives fresh and hot at the table! Cocktails are exciting and refreshing with or without alcohol!
Be mindful of busy crowds (which can ve quite noisy) during peak hours but rest assured that the staff will be on hand to maintain an efficient, friendly service no matter what!
D. S.
Nice setting but no more...... chairs highly uncomfortable. Seated far to close to the bar requested another table but all booked so fair enough. Food was mediocre..... there are better Ping Pongs out there
A. T.
Food is very good at this chain restaurant but this one has terrible service. I’ve been here twice now and you have to flag a waiter for everything, even after waiting 10 mins for them to bring the card machine over after giving you the bill. They will walk passed you and see you’re ready to order or pay and nothing.
F. D.
Mario, anna maria, chiara, and ify were so friendly and welcoming.
Food was great as well as service.

Loved this place. Afterwards visiting the London Eye, I was really hungry and searched Google Maps for nice restaurants around the area. Made the decision to try this place and it was indeed a good decision. I ordered the Honeyed Chilli Chicken and Mushroom rice pot, firecracker chicken roll, and Smoked Chilli Chicken Wings. Each dish was filled with savory flavor. If you don't like spicy, the firecracker chicken rolls probably aren't for you. But the rice pot and wings seemed fairly flavorful and not as spicy. Portion sizes are a bit small. One person would probably be full off of two dishes. Service was nice and quick and the atmosphere was lively. I would definitely recommend coming here! I'll certainly return:)
J. M.
Great place for a nice meal - speedy, delicious and usually can be £20~25 per person, one of my favourites in central London. Were very helpful when we brought family with difficult food allergies too!
D. G.
With a name like Ping Pong I was extremely Disappointed by two things;
1. The lack of a ping pong table 🏓 I was hoping I could crush Katie in a couple of games.
2. There weren’t any Thai ladies doing tricks with ping pong balls 🤸🏻♀️
The dim sum though made up for it all. It’s not like a normal restaurant...they’ve got the whole ordering system a bit backwards. They give you a magical piece of menu parchment 📝 This magical piece of parchment has all the menu items on it, and then you tick what you want to eat! The waitress then looks at this magical parchment of the gods and delivers your ticked food items to you in absolutely no order whatsoever. The rest is like a normal restaurant...When the foods on your table you can eat it, or don’t - just depends if you like it really 🤷🏻♂️ I struggled with the chop sticks so couldn’t eat it 🥢 How do Asian people eat rice with chop sticks?? Surely that’s just making life hard for yourself. Use a bloody spoon would ya 🥄
Anyway, the tea is also incredible! It literally flowers in the glass right in front of your eyes 👀 💐

Good dim sum for a reasonable price!! And always consistent.
Have been here a few times and we have always enjoyed the food. It was packed the last time as we did the lunch time all you eat which is great value.

Atmospheric restaurant with great dim sum. The cocktails and food is great - a creative western twist on typical chinese dim sum. The restaurant is usually buzzing - occasionally this can mean waiting for a table / service, but not usually any more than normal at a busy restaurant. Great place to eat with friends and share dishes.

Very good place for a fairly fast but delicios meal. I say that because everything we ordered was very tasty but we were in a hurry and without telling the waiting staff that they and the kitchen delivered within 10-15 minutes.

I've been a regular since 2008. This restaurant is big and in nice location, however the menu changed and not as many nice dished as before. You can still dine well and it's worth a visit for sure
B. Y.
Food okay, outdoor covered seating area nice.
Lack of service from staff was shocking. We would have spent more money had we been able to get somebody's attention. VERY short staffed it seems
J. H.
Delicious food and a very present place for dinner, particularly outside. It can get very busy and there was quite a long wait for a table.
Food Allergy Review: Very helpful, with allergy menus for seemingly all common allergies.
M. C.
Fun lively restaurant chain selling a variety of dim sum. Tick off what you want on the paper list, and wait for dishes to emerge at random intervals. Not sure what to eat? Ask a server or guess; most are delicious. The char sui bao (steamed buns filled with roast pork) are particularly good.
It can get a bit expensive, service is generally good but sometimes it's difficult to get the attention of the floor staff.

Typically busy restaurant in the heart of London. Booking may be necessary, but can walk in at other times. Variety of foods to satisfy Asian food lovers. Price middle range, and busy atmosphere.
M.
Well the dumplings are gorgeous and so is the service, the portion sizes are questionable. Hence the 4 stars. Always busy this resteraunt, and that's the sign of good quality food and cleanliness.
G. W.
Good place for dim sum outside of Chinatown. Vast selection of dishes and set menus to share, including many vegetarian options.
Try the jasmine tea cocktails - delicious!
Can get quite busy at times.
R. N.
Delicious dim-sums and good atmosphere. Love the flowering teas and the chilli sauce on the tables you dip your dumplings into (vegetarians note that it has prawn in it). If it's your first time there, try the set menu. Decide what you like and the next time you go, try a la carte. Definitely recommend the spicy chicken and spicy prawn coriander dumplings, the sesame prawn, and the soups. Finish off with one of the yummy ice creams. Only downside is that your vegetarian friends won't really enjoy it as not too many options available.

The food was excellent. Be careful when ordering alcohol. We didn't order doubles but we got charged for it and apparently they are always doubles. We didn't notice it on the menu.
C. B.
I used to dislike this branch after getting some horrible service amongst the horrible decor a few years back. Since then it seems like they totally changed the place. A fresh refurb and friendly staff (and excellent dumplings) makes this probably one of my new favourites.
R. R.
Average food...Could have been better for the price we paid.... staffs were nice and friendly though. Shame.. will have to give it a miss next time round.
E. G.
Food is amazing, service wal also really good! And they have lots of veggie/ vegan options , so perfect for that too!
Had an amazing time there ! Thanks you 😊

The best dim sum EVER.
True parcels of goodness.
The sticky rice is to die for.
Cool cocktails. The service ain't bad either.
Just wish they did things in fours.

We had a great dinner at this restaurant. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere was good and the price was fair. The service was a little slow, but in fairness it was busy when we went. Recommended 👍

we both like dim sum. we both like to sit and talk in great atmospheres. we both like to eat at our own pace. ping pong has always made sure that we are welcomed. that we are treated well. that we get exactly what we are promised: fresh and well prepared dim sum without feeling as though we have asked for something out of the ordinary. funny thing is, we get something special.
C. S.
Absolutely love this place. The food is consistently amazing, the staff is helpful and kind, the dessert might be a little poor but I don’t go there for a dessert but for Dim Sum. They make really good Mojitos by the way.
S. F.
Tried Ping Pong last week after hearing some good things and enjoyed it. Had to wait about 30 mins for a table as we hadnt booked, but they have a nice area upstairs where you can enjoy a drink while you wait, a clever tactic as the room was full of hungry people drinking cocktails.
The food was good and the order process of ticking off the items you want from a list was a nice novelty that sped up the whole process. I wasnt a huge fan of the dim sum, but some of the other bites were delicious. Wouldnt rush back but did enjoy my experience.

Great convenient location on the south bank and is a good choice for a quick bite. The food is at a reasonable price but is very much a western interpretation of dim sum so this is not the place for authenticity. Food is slightly on the bland side and needs more flavour. I find myself using a lot of their soya sauce and chilli sauce to give it more taste.
A. S.
Nice enough place, very busy but food arrived within an acceptable time.
Portions a little small, at home I would normally order 3 dishes per person, had 5 here and wasnt stuffed.
Ribs were fantastic, really really good, best I have had in a long while.
Pak Choi was nice, as was vietnamese prawn in rice roll thingy.
Scallops and Prawn sticky rice was disappointing, very bland.
I plain didnt like the Spinach and Prawn dish.
Service fine.
Overall I wont be rushing back, too many other places to try, but I would have no objections at all if I was with someone who wanted to go.

This was the first time I had been here.
It was a very good experience with fast convenient table service.
The pager allows you to go up stairs and enjoy a drink whilst your table becomes available snd as long as you don't mind sharing , we found this was quite quick.
Well worth a visit and I will be going back again at my earliest opportunity.
J. F.
Great food. Covid19 restrictions so social distancing inside. Good service. Probably one of our favourite eateries.
B. R.
Great as always, quick service and a varied menu. Good for vegetarians
V. S.
Excellent, amazing food. The staff were lovely and had good knowledge of dietary requirements i.e what had gluten, diary and msg. Great value for money. I would defo recommend it particularly the lazy Sunday menu.
S. C.
This is a great branch of the Ping Pong chain. Fantastic service from helpful staff. Good location. Lazy SumDay is a fab deal - good fun with a bunch of friends.
B. V.
If you are going to National Theatre or Royal Festival Hall to see a performance then this is not a bad place to get a quick bite.Other than that I will not come here for Dim Sum. Mass market average food but you are paying for the location. Service is fast but impersonal.
G. H.
Menu shrunk a little since last visit but food was good. Only downside is the location and restaurant are pretty busy most days so not the place to be if you want a relaxed vibe. Recommended though!
A. G.
The food is really tasty and enjoyable, maybe a little on the pricey side. Get's booked out in advance. Tried to get a table a little while back, we were told to come back in an hour - which we did. We told that yes we could have a table in 45 mins and to go up to the bar and have some drinks while we wait. Eventually after more than 45 mins we were informed that we would have to wait a further hour to get a table. I really take exception at being sent to the bar with the guarantee of a table and only being told that it'd be another hour after we'd been waiting 45 mins - I think that is at best poorly managed and at worst plain lies designed to get drinks money out of you. If I could get a decent booking I'd probably go book for the food.
T. N.
Good food, fast service, very nice mojito. The only drawback for us was the noise level, but I believe that has to with where you are seated (we did not want to wait for better seating, so we sat next tothe entrance).
J. S.
Tasty food, especially the crispy duck. I guess the prices are average for the location of the restaurant. They add a 12.5% service fee, although the service is fast and helpful.
l. g.
Don't want to be too negative as this was my first visit to the restaurant but I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the food nor the price for it. It is unlikely that I will be recommending this place to my friends. The service was good and the atmosphere was buzzing but the menu was nothing to write home about.
F. K.
Always check your bill!!!!!!!!!!!! each time i go here the food is nice, the service is pretty good and the atmosphere is nice, however the bill is always over by a certain amount, never mind the 12.5% service charge. Last time it was over by £20 this time over by £5.30 ... some sort of scam?

This is the branch of Ping Pong that I have frequented the most - for me it's a very safe bet for good food if you need something fast or somewhere to go if you want some evening atmosphere. Service is usually very efficient and I like the ordering method. The presentation of the food in bamboo steamers is a really nice touch and lets you know that it's been cooked as opposed to radiated. Everything is tasty but the puffy buns rule supreme.
K. V.
The menu has improved to have a lot of vegan or veggie dishes! Service slow as usual, but our waitress was more attentive than the previous visits.
I. E.
Reasonable. More of a tapas style than a full blown Chinese restaurant.
It works given its location but it’s resting on that a little too much, perhaps.
Overall, it’s okay but I’d say keep walking and head to the riverside. You won’t pay more but you’ll likely have a better experience.
H. R.
One of my favourite Ping Pongs. Great selection of dim sum done really well. The service here is great. It is especially good for groups of people who like to share!
D. W.
First time back after a couple of years, and very impressed. Food great and service friendly and efficient. Will be back again much sooner.
R. C.
Good value, fast and great atmosphere
A. M.
The thing about Ping Pong that brings me back every time are the cocktails and food at a fairly reasonable cost. But what tells me not to go back each time is the NOISE! It is so loud in every branch of theirs that I've been to that I promise not to go back again... But I'm a sucker for the stuff, so I always go back!
Definitely try it if you haven't before... The one at Tower Bridge upstairs has a great view if you can get a table up there, it's worth it!
B. D.
They missed out on the dim sum mentioned in the menu. My set menu desert was salted caramel mochi and my sons's desert hazelnut mochi. Both tasted exactly the same! They actually take complaints seriously and follow it up. Impressed by the customer service. They truly care!
C. R.
Nice food, good service, affordable prices.
Waiters wear masks, there is always space between tables otherwise there is something to separate them
E. O.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the value, especially the selected £5.00 cocktails during happy hour. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere in the heart of the Southbank.
J. R.
Seated quickly and had an excellent waiter (Italian guy called Joe I believe); food arrived quickly but we never felt rushed. Will definitely go back.
D. W.
Really enjoyed the dim sum variety and large plate selection. Although the d.sum came out hot the food came out luke warm and cocktails were okay at best. Would go back.

Delicious dim sum, spring rolls and cocktails
T.
Great food very quickly delivered, not to pricey for London either.
M. D.
Lovely food, a bit overpriced. Lots of staff that did not seem to be in much hurry despite a queue of people outside. The girl on a trial shift was super friendly and a breath of fresh air.
H.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The vegan menu needs to include more items that sync with the all you can eat and the latter could do with including some sweets.
C. B.
Really nice food, unfortunately even after telling ping pong of my dates allergies. She managed to somehow eat something with mango in. Had to rush off and get some piriton, then get her home before she was sick. One way to end a date I suppose ☹.
T. G.
Good food for a good price. Generally one of the more affordable dim sum places in London, although very crowded on evenings and weekends. Nothing mindblowing on the food front, but great if you need somewhere reliable and relatively cheap. #Oktoberwurst

I had a blast at ping pong for a friends birthday. The staff here are just fantastic! They were super helpful and very interactive! The even got involved in the game.
M. E.
Very nice food, only thing is that the drinks are very expensive and if you get cocktails you'll end up with an extra large bill
H. M.
I thoroughly recommend this bar. For the newbie they do exceptional set menus. The drinks selection is fabulous! You can have mind blowing cocktails, they will give you a electric bud with your cola and it will set you mouth explode!! Also the tea has flowering flowers inside. The a la carte can be a bit pricey soi owuld stay within the bounds of the set menus. But go!!!!
G. B.
Friendly staff, lots of variety. Music not loud enough to stop you from having a good chat. Also, lovely cocktails. Try the crispy prawn baos... YUM!😋
R. B.
Sunday - all you can eat dim sum for £22.50 - turn up with a group of famished friends and eat your heart out!
The best part about it is - if you don't hit the £22.50 limit then you just pay for the amount you've eaten which is extremely fair!
TOP TIP: There is a student discount if you ask when you arrive.
S. L.
The food was ok but i didnt understand that if u ask for a menú for 2 why they bring u only 3 items of everything,so weird.the staff was quiet slow
R. C.
Tasty food but a little experience.
L. D.
Okay food, great location, feels a little too busy on a typical weekend evening. Almost like a market, for good reason. I wouldn't choose it for a romantic date though, for this reason.
F. H.
Really liked the food there, the Staff was really friendly and everything went really fast even though it was pretty full inside. Definitely worth a visit, if you wanna have good food.

One of my favourite restaurants in London. I eat here almost weekly and always have great food, cocktails are nice too, good atmosphere and lovely staff
A. Y.
Very convenient location for us with quality dim sum. Service not bad but very long wait at meal hours when they just leave you upstairs unattended, no menu, no drinks.
