Reviews of Taiyakiya
Decided to have a cheeky treat with family and got the ice cream taiyaki.
I got the matcha flavour and it came with sprinkles and an Oreo. Very smooth and creamy and a perfect pairing with the freshly made taiyaki.
The staff were also nice and the store has a cute vibe and efficient service.
Would definitely try again.
Really yummy bubble tea, i got the peanut butter sesame which was Delish!!! Never knew sesame flavour was so good in desserts. The only down is the price which I think is a little bit on the higher side.
A bit pricey but worth it! The kimchi cheese taiyaki was very nice, their tapioca is also perfect. Can't wait to go back and try their lychee rose ice cream taiyaki. Their ube boba was very nice, however I recommend 25% sweetness and 50% at the most as 50% was still very sweet.
Good choice of fillings and lovely staff. Unfortunately both our taiyaki weren't sealed very well
This is the first time I have bought something from Taiyakiya in London - the street itself was quite busy on the Saturday night, but an alternative to the Chinese bakery (which closed early!).
The staff were very friendly and recommended the Red Bean (Azuki) Taiyaki - these were essentially Japanese fish waffles filled with different flavours. A change to the Ice Cream place across the road and reasonably priced (there was no long queue). I ordered 2 Taiyakis for £5 and I thought they were delicious in their own way (the first time I have tried). This was a dessert, following the Chinese meal - I will definitely return again and try one of the other flavours.
The Taiyakis were served in the paper bags [pictured below] and could be eaten at a later time.
Warm comforting dessert generously filled with yummy goodness of which you get the ingredients' real taste with just a touch of sweetness. Both Chestnut Red Bean and Black Sesame were great choices.
Delicious red bean and nutella and banana taiyakis! Super aesthetic little shop as well.
Cute, adorable and tasty.
Definitely try something sweet and something savoury. The kimchi and cheese taiyakiya is super tasty and different from a lot of the usual flavours we are all used to. So check it out. I also can't recommend the purple sweet potato enough. Subtle, soft and a hint of savoury. Very moreish.
For sweet, try the black sesame filling. Better than the usual overtly sweet taste associated with black sesame desserts. It's quite warming and hits the spot just right.
Haven't tried the ice creams yet but something to look forward to!
Cute and interesting ice creams that are different to your usual soft serve in a cone. Also offering sweet and savoury taiyaki. This place has something for every craving.
The Taiyaki is so good!!! Haven't tasted such fresh red beans for a very long while. Highly recommend!
Lovely! . But to sweet for me with the red bean. If you want more taste, don't eat it immediately. Wait a bit, until it hardens to get mot crisp. Yummy!
great taiyaki but doesn’t compare to those in japan!
I’ve not tried taiyaki from other stores in London but these are good for when you can’t be in Japan to eat them :)
Ive visited a few times already and the red bean one is excellent and even the ice cream ones (though they can get a bit difficult to eat if you’re not faster than the ice cream melting)
The staff was rude. I will not recommend this place.
Matcha ice cream tasted great but the cone was soft and became soggy right away
Nostalgic taste of Japan 😋🐠
I bought 2 and loved them- custard & matcha ❤️
Matcha ice cream on pancake! Delicious 😋
Got a standard red bean taiyaki here; it was light, warms and sweet. A very comforting snack at a reasonable price of £3.
Welcoming and helpful staff, delicious ice-cream in little fish is cute.
Good
Soo cool! Unique flavours and very helpful staff definitely a hidden gem ✨
It was nice, I enjoyed my ice cream but incredibly over hyped by Instagram
Really cute looking “fish”. Sweet or savoury waffle. I got mine with Nutella, was fresh and super tasty!
Delicious freshly made large taiyaki with your choice of filling; my favourite is banana and nutella. They also do taikyaki cone ice creams with a selection of flavours, also delicious! I recommend giving either a try the next time you are passing through Chinatown in London!
Really nice place. Clean with a small place to sit. The staff were really nice and funny. The icecream was very nice.
Cute place & yummy food! Will definitely come back to try the ice cream taiyaki & more stuff on the menu.
Amazing experience - helpful staff, wide selection of choice and the food is GORGEOUS! the girl with the glasses helped us choose, too - thanks :)
A bit pricey, but ice cream was delicious. Helpful staff!
Love it!
So cute and yummyyyy living it
Yummy !
Cute but thrives off novelty
Fun thing to do when you're in the area anyways :)
🍦The Little Mermaid🍦
I got the nutella taiyaki and loved it. Just I think always go for the 2 for £6 offer rather than buying it one on it's own.
The red bean Taiyaki is tasty.
Absolutely delicious .must go
Best taiyaki in london
Bad service, super slow, overpriced
yummy Japanese desserts
Nice selection of dishes
Nice
Taiyakiya, a newly opened Taiyaki restaurant in Chinatown, London🇬🇧
💰Per capita: 6 pounds
📍Address: Taiyakiya, 20 Newport Ct, London WC2H 7PR
The newly opened Taiyaki shop in Chinatown not only has a rich variety of Taiyaki, including both salty and sweet, but also has amazing ice cream shapes and a wide variety of drinks. It is right next to the KOVA Chinatown branch and opposite Guo C Yibai.
⭐️ice cream
1⃣️The Little Mermaid ice cream
It looks great. The pink-blue ice cream is very oceanic. The pink tastes like lychee, and the blue tastes like salt soda. The taste is fresh. The only drawback is that the sugar sprinkled on the surface and the tail of the Little Mermaid are too sweet.
2⃣️The Dark Angel black angel
The combination of chocolate flavor and vanilla flavor, the chocolate ice cream tastes super good, the little angel wings are white chocolate, and the stars are milk chocolate, it is stable and does not make any mistakes.
⭐️Taiyayaki
1⃣️Kimchee Cheese
The salty representative chose the kimchi one because the pretty waitress said it was her favorite. The kimchi taste is strong and strong, and the addition of cheese is outstanding. It’s like eating kimchi fried rice in a Korean drama.
2⃣️Azuki Red Bean red bean
For sweetness, I chose the most traditional red bean paste. The taiyaki is crunchy and moderately sweet, and the red bean paste is soft and soft.
⭐️Drinks
1⃣️Yuzu Cha yuzu tea
One of the shop owner's recommendations, I also recommend it. It's fresh and elegant, with low sweetness, which makes me very satisfied. The sweet grapefruit pulp is outstanding, but it can easily block the straw, haha.
2⃣️Rose Matcha rose matcha soda
The second recommendation from the shop owner, I think this one is average. Although it looks good, the rose soda plus slightly bitter matcha makes the overall taste a bit strange. I hope the shop can adjust it later!
3⃣️Matcha Latte Matcha Latte
I rarely drink a satisfactory matcha latte, so I give this restaurant a thumbs up because other places usually put the matcha at the bottom, but theirs puts the milk at the bottom and the matcha at the top. You will be impressed by the sweet milky aroma in the first sip, and the sweetness will become more and more suitable as you continue to drink. The bitterness of the matcha and the sweetness of the milk blend naturally.
Very tasty. We buy dessert here 3 times. Delicious with kimchi and sausages
The coolest ice creams in the world and what's more, they're so good!!!
Had the brown sugar milk boba tea. Was good as wasn’t so sweet like other stores. Ordered and waited outside until your number was called.
Freshly baked taiyaki, it feels good to eat one on a cold day
Okay
We tried the taiyaki with Nutella and it was lovely!! Freahly made, soft, fluffy and crispy. I want to try more flavors!! I also had a brown sugar bubble tea which was nice. Not the best I ever had, but was sweet and tasty. Too much ice though! I will come back to try the ice cream as well!
Ice cream flavours are nice, not too sweet. I would recommend matcha or vanilla. Staff are friendly and always make sure items are presented well.
The place itself is very cozy, and the decoration is on point but keep in mind that is only for takeaway. Although the waiting time is a little bit long the flavour its amazing.
We ordered 2 sweet Taiyaki (Nutella peanut butter and Nutella banana) for 6 pounds and it was definitely worth it, they serve it warm and it tastes amazing.
They also sell different kinds of Japanese products such as Dorayakis and ramen noodles.
I recommend this place if you are looking for a tasty dessert in Chinatown.
I ordered through Hungry Panda and got quite a few flavors: Chestnut Red Bean, Mochi Red Bean, Purple Potato, Kimchi Cheese, Tapioca among others. They were all delicious and I especially loved the Purple Potato one! My only gripe is that I wonder why do prices have to be sky high in London. I paid 29.50 quids (4.50 delivery) for just 8 pieces of Taiyaki. Yikesssss. Anyway, managed to visit the place and was pleased with the freshly made Taiyakis and friendly service!
Japanese Fish Waffle and Ice Cream from @ilovetaiyakiya 🐟🍦
We opted for matcha and lychee rose flavours and of course we had to have some cute mermaid and unicorn decoration (forever little girls we are) 👧
.
I really enjoyed my matcha flavour even though I'm not a matcha fan and the waffle cone was super nice and soft! My only complaint would be the decoration which wasn't made of chocolate as I thought but rather hard candy so it was more for decoration than for eating but I can absolutely forgive that because without that it wouldn't look so cute 😅
