Reviews of Sicilian NQ - Bistro and Bar
A. S.
Had a really lovely lunch here! Perfect atmosphere of being central but away from the crowds as its on a quite street. Lovely atmosphere with great service. There's a good choice of vegetarian and vegan options. The food was amazing and will defo be my go to place for the style of food in Manchester! Price was reasonable for portion size and quality in my opinion. The pistachio dessert and coffee was top tier also. Looking forward to going again :)

I don't usually leave reviews twice for the same restaurant, as I hardly change my opinion, however this restaurant deserves another and detailed review. I who lived in Sicily assure you that you will not find anything in Manchester that is so faithful to Sicilian cuisine.
Sicilian NQ, includes friendly and professional staff, able to suggest dishes in line with your tastes, the perfect location, the welcoming restaurant and finally the food. the authenticity of Sicilian flavors, from arancine to pasta to simply sublime desserts.
This is the essence of Sicilian NQ; if you've never been to Sicily, this restaurant will transport your taste buds to Italian culture, and if you have, a tear of nostalgia will revitalise your soul! So, what do you have to lose? book and give it a shot. I can tell you that it will not let you down.

Nice food spoilt by bad service and organisation.
Would I return, yes but only for the arancini and coffee ☕ at lunchtime.
We arrived for our booking on time and were met with a queue, it transpires that the 3 other groups in front were also booked for the same time and the people now queuing behind too.
The server didn't explain or take anyone's name and then they left us standing in the doorway not even capitalising on taking our drink orders.
Once seated 45mins after booking time we ordered our food and drinks....
Out starters arrived, we ate them and they were delicious, the closest we've come to authentic since touring sicily.....
The main meal arrives (with no cutlery) and still no drinks, we ask for water which arrived within a 1 min, 5 mins later we received one wine but our other alcoholic drink never arrived... During all this there was not one apology or any urgency.
They never came over to ask if the food and every else was OK and I understand it was busy but its only small and they had 3 staff out front.
When we asked for the bill it came with the missing drink added to the bill, we had to get them to rectify it and pay and again they never apologised or seemed disappointed.
The place is small but has a number of tables and a bar area to sit, eat drink, it's obviously a popular place that gets busy at peak times so bear that in mind.

Amazing food! It was authentic and a bit different and I can't fault it. There was also a nice atmosphere and wines. The only reason this is not higher is because although I pre-booked a table for 2, we got told on arrival that we either had to share a table with another party or eat at the bar. After a frustrating discussion with staff and the manager we got moved to a private table when one became available. The manager mentioned something about fine print on booking, but I booked over the phone and it was never mentioned.

Brief: Take the gun, leave the Cannoli
The Good: Unique pasta menu and them deserts and nice vibe to the place
The Bad: Made a big hole in my pocket
Must try: Cannoli!
Summary: A Sunday evening dinner with a friend. Made my reservations earlier and I reached the restaurant was seated promptly. I requested a virgin mojito and they were happy to make me one even though it wasn’t on the menu. We ordered our starters and mains. I got the ravioli with pistachios and goat cheese which was amazing and my friend got the ravioli with swordfish on a tomato base. He enjoyed it. The starter mushroom dish was interesting. But the icing on the cake was the cannoli which was amazing. All in all was a good dinner but on the expensive side.
Price: £££ (35£ for two courses, drink and a desert)

I've been wanting to go here for ages and I was definitely not disappointed.
If you love a deep fried cheesy ball of rice, you need to go try these bloody amazing Arancini at @sicilianfoodnq .
We had a Mr Mount Etna and Arancino Spinach to start followed by Nonna's Meatballs, Tagliatelle Ragu and Gnocchi Alla Siciliana. Oh and I also had the most delicious Tiramisu but that wasn't round long enough for a photo 🤣
Traditional Sicilian food 🇮🇹 Bellissimo!🤌
(Not the best photos I've ever taken but you get the gist 🤣)

We were looking for something different to try in Manchester so went with Sicilian NQ for our first night and I am so glad we did. I have never tried Sicilian food before but now I can’t wait to eat it again, everything I ordered was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful, it was a great night all round, I’ll be sure to be back next time I’m in Manchester!
L. B.
Really lovely chilled environment and delicious food. The mushroom arancino was my favourite. Also pictured focaccia, olives, ragu pasta, mushroom pasta and pistachio pane with nougat ice cream
Á. K.
Update: after some problem with our reservation, the place offered us free dinner as an apology. Everything was lovely and we really liked all the meal, desserts, and the service. We can really recommend it!
J. B.
This place is incredible! The food is amazing, the arancini is some of the best I've ever had. The pasta is beautiful and fresh, and the tomato based sauce was perfect! Really enjoyed our meal and the staff were really kind and attentive. I would definitely recommend booking as the restaurant isn't as big as other places in the area. They also do incredible ice cream as well, the pistachio ice cream was stunning!
J. H.
Unexpected pleasant surprise! Enjoyed a very nice mushroom pasta bowl, a dente as how it should be. Small nice little place with friendly staff!
J. T.
We are on vacation from Canada and visited Manchester last week and this was one of the highlights of our stay. We really enjoyed the gnocchi. The cannoli were delicious. We also got a small bottle of their homemade limoncello to take back to Canada.
A. T.
Gracious and Kind!
After having an initial problem with the food I was greeted by the chef who proceeded to apologise and leave a very lovely impression. It’s this type of service that you’d never see most of the time but here it’s commonplace.
Following on from that the food was fantastic and the dessert was the best I’ve had in a long time!
Would highly recommend this establishment for those wanting the best Italian food in Manchester.
G. T.
Truly off the beaten track bistro vibe in the Northern Q of Manchester. Menu is small but very tasty & authentic. Probably some of the best pasta ive had outside of Italy. And that pistachio dessert is AMAZING! Will definitely return when visiting Manchester again! Very reasonable prices too
F. J.
Called in last night & was not disappointed. The food was very good & the venue itself, small but nice. The service from both the lady & gentlemen who served us was really good & friendly.
Definitely one to try & thanks to the chef for amazing food, well cooked with excellent presentation
E.
Loved the gnocchi and the cocktails were a great Sicilian twist on what you'd expect. The highlight though was the gelato brioche! So amazingly good!! The place is small, so make sure you book.
J. W.
Absolutely fantastic place: a hidden gem. We are a big fan of Italian food and thought definitely worth a try. Definitely worth it.
The menu is specialised around a sicilian delicacies and street food.
The food: We tried all the arancini on the menu and they were amazing. Really fresh and well cooked. Great ingredients and the sauces were great. Definitely ensure you leave room for dessert.
Their cakes and pastries are absolutely divine and freshly made. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say best dessert in Manchester.
The service is great: really friendly and attentive.
The atmosphere too is great. Quite informal with a bar. Feels very much like a small, modern restaurant you might go to in Italy. Being on a quiet street, also nice to get away from the hectic nature of the Northern Quarter but still really close to everything.
We plan to definitely come back again :-D
C. H.
Friendly service, good food in the limited menu and value for money. It is a small compact bistro that did get a bit too warm during the heat wave. We enjoyed the evening.
H. M.
The croquettes and pasta were tasty, but nothing really blew me away. The service was also extremely slow and it took us almost three hours from start to finish for dinner with a lot of waiting around time.
A. B.
Always 10/10 experience. We found this little gem from a video on tiktok and have been coming back non stop since. The food is authentic, always hits the mark and provides something different to you would usually get. The service is always amazing, I cannot stress enough how knowledgable and helpful the staff are. No request is too small and they are happy to make alterations to orders if you want to be fussy (like me!). The special limoncello cocktails are also fabulous, a shout out to the limoncello bramble. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Italian and good atmosphere.
P. H.
Quite disappointed with the Mr Mount Etna Arrancino since there was peas & carrots which was not fully listed in the menu for this dish, otherwise it was an average experience no checkup on the starter (e.g. how was it?), no checkup on the main course (nada!) a bit late in the day from the dessert. Also, they have fixed tables in the restaurant which feels very clostofobic at times especially if you find yourself behind a larger person.
L. L.
Enjoyed an amazing meal at Sicilian. We purchased a voucher via Manchester Confidential but after last night would happily pay full price for the food and service. We were booked in for 8pm but they were running a little behind and obivously unable to wait at the bar so we went for another drink and returned at 8:40pm to be seated, we didn't mind as we understand it's difficult at the moment. Thoroughly enjoyed two of their Sicilian cocktails, a Sicilian Medicine and Sorbetto. Starters are either sharing platters or arancini, highly recommend the pistachio one, one of the best things I've ever eaten, going back just for one of these. We had a traditional Sicilian potato cake with ragu for our main, something different and very tasty. Then the gelato...so many flavours and so good. My only criticism feel like £8.50 for two scoops and a cannoli tube is a little steep, especially as there was no nutella (as advertised) to top the dessert off with. Apart from this though, amazing food. We've already planning our next visit where we'll be sampling some cannoli (we didn't have these last night as we really wanted gelato), as we've booked them to make us some for our wedding, fingers crossed later this year!
l. t.
What an exceptional little gem in the northern quarter. Excellent service and delicious authentic food. Starters through mains a wonderful selection to suit all tastes .
j.
Fantastic service here this evening when we had dinner for 3. Food was excellent too. Very flavourful.
Very casual venue which was exactly what we were looking for.
J. S.
Sicily recreated in the heart of Manchester! A wonderfully authentic, family run taverna with a humble but well executed menu of Sicilian and mainland-Italian dishes.
A. L.
Hidden away in the Northern Quarter, not far from the Arndale. I love it in here, they do the nicest sweet treats. And the bar and other food look great! I bought the Lemon Cannoli, it costs £2 each. Believe me, you only need to eat one. Tastes really nice. If you fancy somewhere different, that's quiet and tucked away — try here.
N. S.
Hidden gem. Delicious homely food, great cocktails, the gelato is as close to how it tastes in Italy as I have ever had in the uk. Loved it
A. R.
If you are looking for ORIGINAL italian food, you are in the right place.
Love this place. Excellent salumi and formaggi, lovely arancini, also good wine.
Staff always kind and good. Location as well.
To try
R. A.
We have had their takeaway dishes and they are so fresh and delicious. Today we stopped for a quick espresso. The staff were lovely. It will be nice to have dinner once everything gets back to normal. 👍🏻🤍
Z. R.
Really nice food especially the sweeter desserts
V. S.
Having had my pricy arancina microwaved prior to be fried is something I can't get over it since it's more British style than Sicilian. 4 quid for one is definitively pricey and could be more affordable for sure. Had great expectations for this place and were not as matched.
L. K.
Delicious, can't recommend enough.
Absolutely spoilt for choice and I would love to go again to try more food off the menu
L. B.
Molto buono! This place has a really nice and quirky vibe, the restaurant is cosy and the staff are super friendly and engaging. The food was amazing, authentic and good value. The arancini balls are the best I’ve had! They also do very good cocktails which were well balanced and refreshing. Some of the staff are Italian and also there were lots of Italian guest so you know it’s authentic and good! Italian food with a bit of a different menu it’s for sure worth a visit.
Grazie mille 🙏
S. L.
I've only had the gift box. Canoli, Rhum Baba's and Sicilian Life Cocktail. All super delicious. Cannot wait to try their Arancini.
K. S.
Lovely restaurant, great menu (including their cocktail menu) amazing staff. The food was just delicious and authentic. Can't wait to come back and try their breakfast menu. Thankyou for an all round amazing experience.
I. “. D. S.
Nice Italian dishes, a fit expensive but the portions was big.
S. F.
Loved the food here. So authentic and tasty! The service did let it down a little though, they were really, really slow and kept forgetting things.
M. S.
Great place to eat at! Their desserts are to die for and so far I've tried 3 types of their arancini, all were delicious 😍 can't wait to try their pasta selection.
P. B.
Most amazing Italian food, recommend the Mount Etna as a starter and the Tagliatelle Ragu was unbelievable. Can’t recommend this place enough.
M. S.
Booked a table for 4 for dinner. Amazing experience, authentic food from Italy very difficult to find in town. Dogs are more than welcome and staff engaging!
A. G.
Upon arrival we were shown to our table. The chairs were like bar stools with no backs which aren’t comfy for people of the bigger variety. My partner had to stand up throughout the meal because of this. The restaurant was too dark and made reading the menu a challenge due to the really small writing on it. The food was very tasty and had a lot of flavour. I had the Ragu and it was delicious, as was the espresso martini that I had chosen. I wish there was more choice on the menu but I understand it was limited due to it being Christmas Day. My overall opinion of the restaurant is that it needs to be more inclusive of the curvy people in society and have a kids menu. It is over priced for the portion sizes that you get.
H. P.
There's something a bit odd about this place. I can't exactly say what. I hope things get smoothed out, but pandemic plus Brexit and economic crisis makes this a tricky time.
The food was okay. I appreciate that the restaurant uses genuine Italian ingredients and makes things in-house, but at these prices, Mancunian diners would expect bigger portions or for prices to be lower. The service was all right. The place and space felt a bit tight.
I'd booked online early friday evening, but neither I nor the restaurant had record of the reservation. Maybe I forgot to hit the fundamental 'reserve' button. Luckily and kindly, they were able to accommodate us on some bar stools.
Note: my dining companion and I don't eat meat.
For starters we ordered pistachio arancino and mushroom arancino. They were nice enough and came in on a plate of white sauce.
For our mains we ordered fennel gnocchi and tagliatelle porcini. The fennel gave a lovely flavour to the tomato sauce. The tagliatelle seemed quite ordinary. There were juicy chunks of porcini mushroom in it, but they didn't really taste of much.
For dessert, we had an affogato and a piece of fedora cake, made with layers of cream and light sponge and flaked almonds. It was tasty and and something I haven't seen anywhere else, but a big for one person. There was no vanilla ice cream available for the affogato. I'd keep some in stock; the typical Mancunian diner isn't adventurous enough to mix coffee with egg liquor or cherry flavours.
Talking of ice cream, I passed this place in summer and wanted an ice cream to take away and was told it would be £6. I don't know how much I would get for that amount, but all I wanted was one scoop, so I didn't get any. Maybe I should have haggled, but I was a bit too shocked and left without getting one. It's a shame, because the fridge in the front makes it look enticing.
I'm puzzled about what price range or market they are going for or what kind of atmosphere they are trying to create. The cover versions of pop hits followed by what seemed to be original Bowie was a bit jarring. The printed menus looked a bit cheap and the overall service neither brisk and efficient nor particularly friendly. Some food products were available for sale like the pistachio cream and the chocolate hazelnut spread. I love chilli oil, but there doesn't seem to be any way to try it on any of the mains. My dining companion has been reading books about a certain Sicilian inspector so I was disappointed that the Montelbano Ate Your Heart dish was not available and neither was the Parmigiana Siciliana. The menu on the website needs updating.
However, the restaurant was full and as we left, peak dining time approached and the place started to fill with younger women who looked like Instagram influencers all flawless makeup, pale trousers and mushroom-coloured winter coats.
There's a reason Italian food does well in the UK. A lot of it is fairly bland and safe, but appears foreign enough that English people think they are being sophisticated and cosmopolitan when they are eating it. If you showcased the best of Sicilian food here, I'm not sure British people would not really appreciate it.
It was fine, but I'm not desperate to go back.
L. J.
A nice place with a good atmosphere but nothing special (unfortunately!)
The arancini was delicious but the mains and desserts were quite bland. The menu is also very limiting from a gluten free perspective and they also don't allow anyone with a nut allergy to eat there (worth noting).
The staff were really lovely, polite and attentive. A few issues though; forgetting our drink order three times, giving us forks but no knives, making us sit on a table with another couple (despite us pre-booking and presuming we'd have our own table).
It's a shame as I had high expectations, but there just wasn't enough flavour or menu variety for the price we paid.
L.
I have only been in the place for the gelato, as there are only a few places in Manchester selling authentic italian gelato. I got very disappointed by the super tiny portion, especially for the price I paid! The quality of the gelato is much better than other ice cream shops in Manchester, but please guys be more generous with your customers! The scoop we were served had literally the size of a strawberry and we were all left with an empty cone. Not the best.
A. K.
Great atmosphere, amazing food.
Bartenders with some proper skills
K. J.
Hands-down the best tiramisu in Manchester. Often, the cream to sponge ratio can be off, but this was perfection! A generous slice as well! The savoury street food is also tasty. [edit] I decided to place another order through Deliveroo just so I could share a photo. It tasted as good as it looks! <3
A. M.
Good food with friends. The only issue is that the place is really small and it gets crowded quite easily. There were people standing up waiting for a table and that just made it more crowded. Would have been nice to have had a bit more space in the table.
G. S.
The Mafioso cocktail and pistachio layer cake were the absolute stand out items, but everything else was both delicious and very reasonably priced
S. B.
Called in, no reservation, seated immediately, and had a lovely meal with great service.
F. L.
Cute little place w generous portions for good prices. Nice cocktails too.
H. y. s. h. ?.
The arancini are so good my daughter loved the Mount Etna and i went for the pistachio and the Norma, they're big so don't plan a 3 course

I checked out Confidentials and saw that a £20 voucher gets you a £40 spend here.
I chose the Mr Mount Etna and Mushroom Volcano: these are both Arancino (rice ball) mounds with beef and mushroom fillings respectively. It could be that I ordered dishes that were too similar, (nothing else on the street food menu really excited me) but eating these became something of a chore. The texture was stodgy, and the taste muted by the thick breadcrumb coatings. I was bored of the Mushroom Volcano almost halfway through it.
Overall, it was a three-star experience for me- I’m not a fan of high seats and the drinks were not cheap- but since my friends rated it quite highly, it only seems fair to offer a four. I’d sooner visit other eateries before returning, though.

I took the Pistachio Panettone last Christmas for a party with some friends. I'm from Sicily and i can say that this place delivers real high sicilian quality food. The staff is very friendly. Definitely recommended.
O. B.
Absolutely delicious food; true homecooking. This was our second time going, we'll definitely be back!
L. C. W. V.
I only try to eat connoli. The taste is very good, especially the chocolate cannoli is delicious.😋
A. M.
Excellent service, we were made to feel very welcome. The food was delicious, good cocktail list too. I recommend the Olives, they're the biggest I've ever eaten!
S. T.
Lovely tiny place in the back of NQ! Staff really friendly. I had Lasagna Bolognese and a Cannoli filled at the moment with Fresh Ricotta. Both of them delicious. Also cheap for the area. I'll come back. My dog was more than welcome from the staff and I had a lunch inside with my dog. There are several places for dogs in the NQ.
S. T.
Tasty food, calm and clean environment inside. Don’t be fooled by the location as the place itself is very clean and the staff are friendly and professional
G. P.
Really good experience. Nice food and very friendly staff. Deffinitely the right choice if you want to try some good italian food.
l.
a cute place !! very lovely, wonderful staff that are so attentive, very generous portions also. thank u <3
A. S.
Lovely place, not easy to spot if you are not local but we have had a really pleasant time.
The food arrived quickly, the staff was very pleasant and attentive, overall a good experience!
M. C.
Food was great and tasty but we ate there on a Saturday night and it was heaving. We had to wait over 30 mins for our reserved table. Definitely need a bigger venue as it was very cramped and understaffed.
N. T.
Some of the best Italian food in Manchester. Sauce is amazing, staff are very friendly as well. I do have to say though the Gelato was a bit disappointing. I think it would be nice if they had more meat options as main dishes.
P. S.
I've been in this beautifull bistro during the cristhmas dinner ,
The menu is simple and the standard it's hight.
The italian waitress called Filomena
Deserve to be mentioned
She's been polite, and professional,
Counting that the flor was busy and she was alone working,
I suggest this Restaurant
B.
Good italian ice cream briosce👍
E. C.
Spinach Aracini was brilliant, the Ragu cooked just right.
Will eat there again
i. c.
What a gem. Super friendly and helpful staff, wines and beer from Sicily and delicious food.
Yes, the prices may be a bit high for moderate sized portions, however since everything seems to be produced fresh it's worth it. Will be back for ice cream!
M. T.
Lovely intimate place and a nice selection of Sicilian specialities!
Just need some panelle on the menu
N.
Excellent gnocchi! And the blood orange soft drink (Galvanina) is absolutely delicious...lightly sparkling and not too sweet👌My boyfriend had to order two mains as the swordfish ravioli (Trinacria) wasn't enough for him so he also got the tagliatelle ragu Siciliano which then completely filled him up:) I had the mushroom volcano for a starter then the gnocchi alla Siciliana... I had to ask the waitress to pack up half of it to take home as I couldn't finish...🤢 And I was hungry... We also had a cocktail and a double shot so there was absolutely no room for dessert which I really wanted to try therefore we have to return😉
s. V.
Super tasty, reasonably priced food ! Highly recommend.
J. C.
The food was Gorgeous, the service was AMAZING, would recommend to everyone!
N. I.
Great food for a good price. Nice staff.
A. M.
Had a delicious calzone, was really good however portions were smaller than I expected for the price paid
S. E.
Really great little place with some good quality food and very attentive and engaging staff. Top marks to the barman for his personality, and our waiter for ensuring we were looked after.
G. M.
Great cosy place just behind piccadilly station. Beautiful staff very caring. Amazing food. I love arancino norma with aubergine and ricotta salata cheese and pistachio cannoli
N. E.
Had a leisurely lunch with my youngest son and partner. Busy, loud and characterful environment. We found the food simple yet excellent.
J. B.
Yummy food, not an extensive menu, but great quality
N. B.
Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks in a relaxed environment.
K. A.
Really nice food. The aranchino was amazing, we had one of each and all were fantastic!
M. C.
Really lovely. An informal little Italian eatery with a diverse menu but if you chat to the folks running it, tell them what you're in the mood for and your tastes they'll do you something off the cuff that will impress. Small point- they can't sell alcohol so bring your own!
J. D.
Pleasant staff, food pleasant. Unfortunately not a lot of atmosphere when we were there. People on table next to ours seemed to have come to empty their bowels for the week YUK.
i. a.
Not only amazing food, new selection of delicious desert every time you visit, but most importantly you will be served with love and passion by the very friendly staff members .This is your fastest ticket to warm city of Sicily.
c. L.
Amazing and welcoming staff, food delicious and breathtaking. Highly recommended!!
G. F.
First time of going. Food superb but limited menu. Compact place, but good vibe even with covid restrictions. Wine superb, but cocktails disappointing. Think they need more practice. But all round good.
M. M.
Slightly expensive but very friendly place, Casatina Sicilian cake 10/10
P. Y.
One of the best Italian food places. The pistachio arancini is my top dish and the canolis are super fresh and deliciously creamy and flaky.
P. C.
Was Ok . A bit disappointed after experiencing real Sicilian street food. Small menu compared to online version. Food was good and tasty. A bit of a cross between a cafe and a sandwich shop. Fine for a light lunch but a bit pricey considering the small portion size.
T. C.
My husband and I went here before a concert for a bite to eat. The shop is small but clean, with a few tables to sit and eat. The food we ordered was lovely - fresh and full of flavour and the fresh lemonade was also really nice.
Also, the woman was kind enough to improvise a chicken salad for me, even though they aren't on the menu.
J. R.
Very nice! Quiet spot
C. D.
Cute cozy Sicilian Restaurant. Food amazing, real homemade. Staff friendly.
R. A.
This is a place I've been wanting to check out for a while. With the eat out to help out scheme I couldn't resist swinging by for lunch. The cosy bistro and bar sevres authentic Sicilian food, gelato and cocktails. The staff were very friendly and I really enjoyed meeting them.
To start I went for the Mount Etna arancini, a dish that pays homage to the famous volcano. The volcanic rice ball was stuffed with an incredible ragu and melted cheese. This thing was special. The Ragu was ridiculously flavoursome
Afterwards I ate the "Montealbano ate you heart" - homemade fresh pasta field with sheep's ricotta and pistachio served in a creamy sauce. It was delicious and used Sicilian ingredients, further blustering it's authenticity but after tasting how good the Ragu was on the arancini next time I'll get a pasta with the same Ragu. What I did like about it was the crunch of the pistachio inside the fresh ravioli; The cream sauce was light and subtle which allowed the ricotta and pistachio flavour to shine through. It was a very good dish and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Now I let myself down by not getting dessert. The gelato stall outside looked amazing but I was so full. I'm definitely heading back to try the Brioche Tuppo Siciliana - Brioche bun stuffed with two flavours of gelato!! I did enjoy a coffee afterwards and it was genuinely incredible.
B. G.
Brilliant little bar and eatery. Well worth a visit.
J.
Staffs are very attentive ( 2 guys) average food
reasonable prices
Good value for money
yes I would recommend.
D. F.
The best authentic Sicilian restaurant in Manchester!!! Amazing arancini and the best cannoli ever! Well done guys
S. B.
Picked up a To Good to Go order last night, I was tired and wet and had been at work all day. They were so welcoming, sorted out my order and showed me around their range of other products, such a lovely team, will be going back!!

Nice enough food but the service and environment is very standard. Cocktails are lovely however.

Had a lovely meal celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Only downside, they’d run out of pistachio ice cream
R. C.
Lovely Italian Cafe that's different from the big chains. Great Arancini

I did a reservation for dinner via opentable. What a find! This place is amazing. Authentic homemade Italian food plus Sicilian Rosticceria (Arancini, Cartocciate, Bombe, Cannoli, Treccie pistacchio, Iris). Delicious. We tried Arancino Ragu' and Spinach as starters (fried at the moment) really crunchy with the cheese melted. I had Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, amazing and my boyfriend had Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. We finished with Tiramisu' (BEST in Manchester) and Cannolo Ricotta with pistachio flakes. I love William Sicilian Street Food. Nothing compared to that food in the city. Staff friendly and engaging. We will come back soon. The Restaurant is a little gem, cosy with warm lights and candles every table

Delicious food and quick service, maybe a little pricey though otherwise fantastic

C. G.
A little gem. Amazing food & amazing service. Forget about the big chains and eat here, you’ll love it.
D. W.
Nice food with a quirky atmosphere and décor. The restaurant is rather small so it can be quite cramped if it is busy.
C. V.
It is very clear that the previous Scott Woolner and Sam Humphries reviews are absolutely false and unreal reviews(also made stupidly on the same day), they are squalid people who left reviews on behalf and with the complicity of the old William's staff very bad that fortunately was fired for more than 3 months .
So now for 3 months the food is delicious and authentic cooked by an Italian professional chef with many years of experience in Italy and abroad, able to cook fantastic food both traditional English and authentic Italian very difficult to find in Manchester
It is a really exquisite food what you eat at the William Sicilian
A. P.
Very good food and kind crew, especially Filomena, she was really lovely .

A disappointing experience last night
Let’s start with the positives
The Food itself would have been 3.5 / 5 - not exceptional, but not bad !
And now for the negatives
The service was slow with us waiting for our sides which didn’t come until we’d finished the mains. Perhaps ok if extremely busy, but when you see one member of staff standing around doing nothing it’s infuriating.
The value wasn’t the greatest, especially for mine which was half the size of the others but only £2 cheaper
Wouldn’t rush to return TBH - which is a shame as it I went because I’m planning a trip to Sicily next year
A. P.
This is an ideal place to meet for lunch or drinks.
The staff are really nice if a little forgetful.
The food is great.
The stools are not comfortable for a lingering stay.
O. G.
Amazing food, but prices too high for the size. Certainly we'll be back

(Translated) Fabulous! Excellent Food, cozy location and great service. I'm Sicilian from Catania this place is exceptional. The delicious arancini and of various types seem to be at home. Very good cocktails and well presented. The place is small but cozy with Sicilian majolica around the bar and De Simone's hand painted plates it couldn't be more Sicilian than it is. I ate the burrata pasta. The burrata is very fresh. The White Russian Cocktail is exceptional. The place is busy so sometimes you wait a little bit but it is a pleasant wait and you have time to taste another cocktail.

Favoloso! Excellent Food, cosy location and great service.

(Translated) Amazing place to go If you are fancy Italian food. All the menu is out of this world. We ordered some side dishes to share and all were amazing. Nothing negative I can say from this side. Also, the waiters were extremely attentive to us and they recommended the best dishes of the place. Really a golden gem 💎 in the middle of Northern Quarter.
🇪🇦 Incredible Italian cuisine place in the center of the Northern Quarter district. Great recommendation because all the food we ordered was like I was in Italy at the time. The service is very attentive at all times and they do not take long to serve the dishes. Similarly, the waiters help you choose if you have any questions about the menu.

(Translated) Happened by chance, they are a mix of Sicilian and English. They have the classic breakfasts with eggs and arancini, cannoli, donuts etc. The food is excellent I tried the orange juice (made at the moment with the Sicilian Orangefresh machine) and eggs royal with salmon. Delicious. The very kind girl gave me a razor clam with ricotta. There is also free wifi if you have to watch something on the pc. Absolutely recommended

Assolutamente consigliato

(Translated) We went to eat there because we read that it had a very good recommendation. The food is not as cheap as they say and the portion sizes are too small. I ordered a vegetarian lasagna and I was hungry because it was served in a dessert bowl.
