J. S.The BEST bubble tea shop in Newcastle. I go there everyday and have done so for the past 8 years. The selection of drinks on offer is the largest I have seen so far and they are all so addictive- especially Honey Lemon Green Tea. They have a drink suited for everybody. Also, if you have any dietary requirements they are quick to make a drink suitable for you. They have a wide range of Vegan drinks and I highly recommend Matcha with oat milk and tapioca, it is phenomenal. The food is great too, the duck wraps are out of this world, as are the bubble waffles (Oreo and Very Berry are my favourites). They even do Vegan bubble waffles!
If you have a reusable bubble tea cup they will happily use it for your order. They now use paper straws which are sturdy and they don't kill the turtles... wahoo!
It is a family run business and it is great to support a local business rather than a chain. The family are all so welcoming and friendly, as are the staff. I highly recommend Bubble Cha.
S.Very good bubble tea and friendly customer service. I ordered the original tea with brown sugar boba which was very nice, if only it had a bit more boba I would have given the 5*. Also the shop is quite small with the booths taking up a lot of the space, during busy times the shops gets cramped and there's not a lot of space to move around.

It was fun. Michelle and I thoroughly enjoyed the Bubble Waffle, freshly made there and then, hot out of the waffle-maker. It's a lovely spot for Boba-lovers to hang out and take in all the colourful vibes😆

A.Usually send the kids in to get the Bubble Cha first time going in myself and the ladies that served me was really nice,informative let me try the pobbles before deciding as wasn't sure what I wanted and even gave me a regular mango flavour free to try which was a nice surprise😍Finally found the combination I Like which is the Taro flavour with tapioca pearls and lychee jelly, loved it so much went a week after and got another one.My sisters first time trying bubble cha and she choose hot Mocha with chocolate pearls tried that and must say not a good choice prefer cold,so she didn't like it but that's just because she made wrong choice by going for it hot.Going back again soon next time I go out for my 1.5hour walks there and back.

R. P.Decent bubble tea. I ordered an Original Milk Tea with pearls in it, but I found that the tea tasted very slightly bitter (perhaps the leaves were stewed for too long or maybe it's due to the type of tea they use).
I ordered 70% sugar, but when I tried it I thought that they forgot the sugar since it didn't taste sweet. I then tried my friend's drink which had 100% sugar, but again found that it wasn't sweet enough either, so just be warned if you have a sweet tooth that you might need to ask for extra sugar. The pearls were very soft which I personally like, but the tea didn't taste very rich/creamy which I suspect is due to them using more fresh milk compared to other stores- but they do have options to make it more creamy, so if you need to adjust your sugar or creamer levels I'm sure you could ask them to do so.

L.The best boba tea restaurant in Newcastle, I go there basically every weekend, great place to relax and chill, everyday I pick a new thing, but for the past few weeks I have been drinking the cookies and cream cheesecake tea, it is sooooo good!!!!! But I think they just put less of the cream around the bottle, and less of the bread cake on the bottom, it mixes with the tea and gives it a bit of a spiky texture, it is also quite small, but the drink makes up for it!!!

My personal favorite is the Mango green tea with strawberry pobbles or the Taro milk tea with tapioca.

Could do with a refit but in a way, that's part of its charm. One thing, though - get some wider and sturdier straws, guys. Will be returning many times, I'm sure.

I've been coming here since 2015, I remember that bubble cha was actually one of the few bubble tea places in town, as it was something new back then, well, Bubble Cha stands as No.1 in the North East to this day, why? Because it is a place of memories, and amazing drinks, you come in and in front of you are thousands of combinations of possible drinks plus food, desserts and snacks, k-pop is blasting in the background, people are chatting and laughing there's a sweet smell of the bubble tea in the whole place, it creates such a comforting atmosphere, you tell yourself, we'll stay here for a little bit, but by the time you realise, 2 hours have passed.
The best possible feeling is in the summer, it's hot, it's stuffy and there's nothing better than an ice cold bubble tea, there are so many refreshing variations, sometimes it's impossible to choose, sometimes I order more than one drink because i need to taste my new ideas, and the staff is so nice, they never judge, they always greet you, they always say goodbye, they are so sweet to everyone and I'm genuinely so thankful for their hard work and for the fact that they created this amazing place.
I have so many amazing and hilarious memories thanks to bubble cha, that I don't think I can ever drink bubble tea from a different place, it'd be betrayal 😂

B. D.I've been going here for several years now and the staff are always very friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. Everytime I am in Newcastle, I make a point of going in for my boba fix and love trying the other varieties they offer on a daily basis for others to try.
There is a good selection of flavours and the drinks are freshly made while you watch but if you happen to be lactose intolerant or vegan, they are more than happy to alter your drink to fir your needs!
In my opinion, they havethe best tasting boba drinks compared to some of the newer shops that have popped up recently. 10/10 Reccomend! :D

They also offer hotdogs and bubble waffles. Bubbles waffles are nice and... interesting. Would definitely recommend, especially if you've never had bubble tea before! They could do with opening later hours, I think that would be a popular option.

Most flavours are quite unique and have a large range if choics but some can be a little too sweet like the vimto one. The shop is decorated with lanterns and has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.

J. J.There is an infinite selection of options for flavors and flavored jelly/pobble available here with an excellent selection of dessert such as waffles and ice cream. In addition, the staff are really nice and friendly plus they really are helpful in reccomendations for fist comers. Do keep in mind they have a minimum spend of $3.70 for card but so long as you can get access to cash you should face no issues.
The seating here, while limited to 2 booths that can fit 6 people per both max, are very comfy and offers a unique and private aesthetic. Definately a must if you like bubble tea. If China town is too out the way for you there is another location that is bigger just opposite the civic centre on northumberland street owned by the same people.

We travelled about 50 miles a year ago to get a bubble tea fix at Bubble Cha (it's the closest to where we live!) and made a day of visiting Newcastle. When we were in Newcastle again recently we thought we'd try another place that was close by just to compare, but before stepping inside we didn't like the look of it, so we headed straight to Bubble Cha and weren't disappointed. It was just as we remembered and really made our day.
Highly recommended are the bubble waffles with condensed milk (though cooking time is a bit long for multiple orders as they only have 1 bubble waffle iron).
If we lived closer I'd visit far more often and make my way through the huge menu of drinks!
M. E.This a must-go to stop when we are in Newcastle. The bubble tea is great, but the bubble pancake is even better as they make them fresh for you as soon as you order. Wish they would offer a Thai iced tea version of the their bubble tea, but the regular milk tea or coconut tea is good for now.

D. D.Walked in the shop and thought... Ooo I quite fancy a chocolate milk tea with tapioca balls. Quite to my suprise they were out of tapioca! So I thought I'd go with egg pudding instead. The woman at the counter replied with a very passive aggressive Ok and asked for my money. I have seen this woman before and she never looks very happy. When I got the tea and popped the straw I could taste the similarity to nesquick from the local Tesco.
Just before we are about to leave the woman shouts "OK WE'RE CLOSED!!!" which quite startled me. We then left as we were scared for our lives.
