Massive choice of ice cream flavours and the server took her time to explain the flavours to us which helped make our choices. I had a scoop of the Turkish Delight flavoured ice cream and a scoop of the Chocolate Orange both were really good.

Lovely little family ran business, Where they make their own ice cream. Lots of delicious flavours, clean and so friendly. The loyalty scheme is great and their coffee is delicious. Definitely recommend over Costa coffee to support a local business. Jude, one of the sons has served us the last two weeks and is so canny. He put the Beatles song on 'Michelle my bell', when he heard my name. Just lovely little touches that you don't get a big business.

We really enjoy the ice cream here and returned today as a regular customer. The ice cream was delicious but a young man, around 16/17 was serving and clearly new to role. There was no problem with that, he was polite and friendly. Only around 5 ice creams were named and upon asking the flavours, the young man was unsure, so he asked the female, older lady in charge. She was sharp, irritable and condescending to him, telling him off in front of us for a drop of ice cream not being cleared up. She then rolled her eyes behind his back. It was bullying. Bullying of a child. I won't be returning on that basis. I wish I had said something there and then, I just couldn't believe what was happening and was with friends and didn't want to make them uncomfortable. It was an error. I should have said something and I am sorry to the young man in question.

Great varied selection of Ice Creams, toppings, containers and some big, filling tasty waffles for me. Room inside to sit as a family, and outside on their tables if the sun is out. It is what it is, get stuck in and eat. Our little one loves it, cannot ask for more than that I guess. Also a members scheme for freebies, so you can get your ice creams for free once in a while. What is not to like about that.

I can’t get good quality vegan ice cream anywhere but this place is literally heaven sent, every single flavour they make tastes divine, If i could give them a million stars I would. Amazing ice cream. Should have a large menu where people can see what is on offer. Nothing about Mimi's is large except for the portions and the que. Be prepared for a fifteen minute wait. Small inside seating area, car park, and complete shop overall. Car park was full when I arrived. Brilliant service by a lovely chatty teenager. I will definitely be going back again.

Mimi's is an absolute hidden gem! Really friendly staff and lovely relaxing atmosphere. More importantly the gelato, ice creams and baked treats are fantastic. There is a huge selection of flavours with most of them made in house from locally produced ingredients. The staff are happy to let you sample the different flavours to make sure you like them before you buy them. There is ample seating both inside and outside to enjoy your treats. Overall a great place to go for a lovely sweet treat or a cuppa and a cake and just chill out.

Until today I really didn't like waffles. However with a gift of Waffles and ice cream for 2 and drinks I collected as a takeaway for myself and my 21 month old grandson. I didn't have time to have mine until late on a Saturday night ( as I was babysitting couldn't have wine) so even the waffle was frozen. Vanilla and banana ice cream, frozen waffle and strawberry sauce. Absolutely amazing. I've always loved ice cream from Mimi's but this was another level. It's a little bit of heaven.

Today, I was lucky enough to make my first visit to Mimi's. I had been hearing about this amazing ice cream emporium for some time from my family and friends, so was delighted to finally visit today. The Emporium is located behind the Co-Op petrol station / shop near to the Gosforth Park Hotel. The dazzling array of ice cream's, sorbets and vegan ice cream was mind blowing. Ricotta and Fig Ice Cream, whoever dreamt that one up is a genius! Even better to have been offered a sample before having to make a final decision. My family members chose a sugar cone but went with the single choice of ice cream (2 scoops), whereas I went with two scoops of different flavours! Turkish Delight and Ricotta and Fig were my flavours of choice and I was not disappointed. Amazing! If that hadn't made the visit special enough, I was kindly then given a sample in a small tub of some Lemon Meringue Ice Cream, which had just been made. That genius had been at it again (I found out it was the Italian Chef in the kitchen but genius about sums it up). The sample was everything you want from an ice cream, fantastic flavour which also included tiny pieces of meringue, Sublime! I cannot wait for my next visit.

This review is only about the service. We visited Mimi's twice before and it has always been fab, since they opened it's always been about the quality and the service. Last Sunday night was a different story, we recommended the place to our friends who came from Gateshead and took our children for a treat, we were served by a girl named A. she didn't make us feel welcome, no smile on her face, didn't engage with the children and when my friend asked for her recommendation of flavours; her reply was "i don't really like icecream". My husband ordered a drink and we had to wait for 10minutes and it wasn't even served then, when I asked the other girl behind the till she made it herself and apologised on behalf of her colleague. As I've said we've been before and usually the service is fab and very welcoming, I hope it improves again.

Mimis isn’t just an ice cream parlour - it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in to when you leave the staff can’t do enough - and they’re SO good with kids. I mentioned it was my daughters birthday moments before she walked in and instantly they all popped their Christmas hats on and welcomed her at the door with a little gift - all unplanned...you don’t get that treatment at any old ice cream place ;)

I was presented with one small waffle, friut and ice cream whilst my daughter had a stack of at least 6 pancakes with fruit and ice cream. They weren't served together either as my order arrived 3/4 minutes before my daughter's. No napkins but on asking were given kitchen roll. Enjoyed the food but thought it quite expensive for what I had. Wouldn't rush back.

A little piece of paradise in Gosforth. Mimis Ice Cream Emporium is like a dream. It's everything an ice cream parlour should be. The ice cream is freshly made on the premises and you can really taste the difference. As well as the usual popular flavours they have some unusual and delicious flaovours. And lovely, friendly, helpful staff.

What an excellent place! The staff here are so friendly and great with the children. I've been a few times now since it opened and it just keeps getting better. An amazing selection of ice creams and sorbets and they cater for vegans too. Also do a full range of drinks, coffees and cakes. Plenty of seating available and with all the flavours to try, you won't want to leave until you do.
