Great Iceceam shop. Parking is avaliable easily around. Menue: wide variety of icecream and gelato. Cleanliness: Good. In some occasions chairs and tables are stained and sticky. Icecream: They are generous, with good price. Other menue: nicely presented and variable. Waiting times: not too long. Staff: Helpful and kind. Definitely worth visiting every time.

The ice cream is rather lovely, but it's not a comfortable experience. The lighting is harsh and a cold bright light. The seating could be more comfortable. It is rather like an airport or coach station cafeteria and it should be more relaxing.

😔Dirty sticky tables that are not really appealling for a nice treat out. While there none of the staff members attempted to whippe any of the tables. I hope this was one of that days and this does not happen on a daily basis. 😔 Food was ok but does not have too much flavour comparing with how a crépe should really taste.

We have been here half a dozen times, and never had a problem. The owners a nice friendly guy, and the gelatos and desserts are tasty and well priced. It's also a very different kind of eatery, a perfect place for Norwich, which is why I think people should support this dessert based restaurant.

This is our favourite treat stop in Norwich. The coffee is fantastic, their waffles are the best I've ever had, made fresh while you wait. The ice cream is great value and there is a big selection. The service is excellent. Even when there's a queue the staff are friendly and helpful. The venue is always nice and clean. Happy kids and happy parents. Highly recommend!!

It's certainly the best place to visit if you're after different flavours. They have at least 40 ice-cream flavours. I've tried about 4 different flavours and I'm yet to be disappointed. I do wish they had 1 or 2 sugar free options though.

If your a nutella and ferro rochre kind of person then the ferro rochre waffle is for you the food comes fresh and warm the service isnt to bad and they have a selection of ice creams deserts crepes and a whole lot more and the second you walk into sundaes gelato you get a sensational smell and aroma its like a little kid in the best candy shop in town. They open till late! which is fab. Sundaes are massive really enjoyed the cookie one. The place is huge for an ice cream parlour so my group of 8 did not have difficulty finding a table. Prepare for a 15-20min queue though during busy times, we went there on a Friday night around 9pm!!!

Great range of Gelato, about 40 different flavours, a few of those were suitable for vegans. Only £2 for 1 scoop in a cone and £3.50 for 2 scoops in a cone. I found the staff to be polite and service was quick. It was lovely and cool inside as the whole shop front opens up. I didn't try the Sundaes or waffles or crepes but they all looked good 😀

Even with a lactose intolerance this place is amazing 😂 really good selection - I do envy my friends/family when they have the sundaes and ice creams which look amazing. There's also so many flavours to choose from. I settle for sorbets which there is a good selection of also and the sorbet sundae (sensual sorbet) is lovely!

Indulgent desserts and milkshakes. Waffles, crepes, the lot. Food is absolutely brilliant - the exact right amount of sugar and good portions so that you don't get overwhelmed. They also serve tea and sodas if you need to wash everything down. The place itself could be cleaner... Tables and chairs were sticky and stained, didn't get a good look at the floor but possibly the same. Could use a good scrub - I'd bump up a star if it does in the near future. Otherwise, lovely American dinner style, fun and quirky, suitable for families and people of all age that happen to have a sweet tooth. Will absolutely come back!

Very good ice cream to have in or take away. There always seems to be a queue but it goes quick. I think it's a sign of their popularity. Loads of choice; some great fruit flavours and ones made from chocolate bars like snickers. They serve them in a cup or good quality waffle cone but also have a menu of waffles, pancakes and ice cream sundaes.

Omg I love this place but unfortunately I have to say only for the food. The staff all apart from one were more interested in talking and finding their favourite song on the T.V. then turning it up. As a family we enjoyed our time at this establishment. The main reason we decided not to give this place 5 stars is that my daughter found that when she ate her ice cream (or Gelato) too quickly she found that it hurt her head, particularly around one of her eyes. If ice cream is going to have this effect on people's children there should be some kind of warning. I was also personally dissapointed by the lack of peanut butter and marshmallow ice-cream. All in all though a great experience. I would highly recommend.

We like to come here for a treat every now and then. Normally busy at the weekends which I guess is a good sign! You have to go up to the counter to order (if you have a table) which is fine but if there are a few people ordering cones before you with various scoops it can take a little wait. We tend to go for crepes or waffles but they do sundaes as well plus the gelato and some more choices.

I had a coconut and pistachio sundae, and my wife went for a waffle! Both were nice - not amazing, but still very good. Best part is the home-made ice-cream, especially the pistachio one! Style-wise the place is a bit mismatched... it looks like a classic 60's American diner, but selling Italian deserts, and with Queen playing on the TV!! Also, the whole place was just a bit... grubby. Marks on the walls, tables not clean, watermarks everywhere, etc. Only slightly above average overall.

Went to visit this new ice cream parlour today and was left a little disappointed. I had the banoffee sundae and although generous portion the ice cream was tasteless especially the banana flavour which was turquoise!! The queue took forever as no seperate queue for people just buying ice cream to take away and people ordering for sitting down. There wasn't much sauce on the sundae either - I wouldn't rush back.

Unfortunately not what I was expecting, the waffle was good enough but I was with a friend and she had finished her crepe before mine was even brought to me even though we ordered at the same time. It was empty too so have no idea what the reason was.

This place offers a wide range of flavours as well as lots of options for sundaes, waffles, crepes etc. The ice-cream scoop portions are generously sized. There's plenty of space to sit inside and the decor is quite fun - American diner style. The quality of the ice-cream is not great. The strawberry flavour was particularly bad - it tasted like something you would buy in a big white tub from the supermarket in the 80s, and I do not believe it had ever come into contact with an actual strawberry. The orange, strachiatella and pistachio were better, but still disappointing. If you're after a fun dessert with some novelty value this could be the place. For quality gelato, as far as I'm concerned, nowhere in Norwich comes close to Cafe Gelato on Opie Street.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean the place is. The selection of ice cream is magnificent. I tried Pistachio as most Pistachio is second rate paste. This one was not. It had that refined nutty flavour and lovely creamy texture. Top marks. I will go again.

me and my girlfriend come to this place all the time because the food is DIVINE but on the website it says everyday it’s open 11am-11pm. just turned up at 10:30pm and they said ‘We close at 10 on a sunday’. obviously if we were local this wouldn’t be an issue at all but we live 30-40 minutes away so this has cost us a fair amount of petrol and we’re greatly disappointed. overall i would just like to see the website changed to the correct opening times and maybe a more sympathetic staff

I went here with 5 kids and 2 other adults at around 7pm on Wednesday. The kids all got a variety on ice cream sundaes and really enjoyed them and polished them all off. I went to use the toilet when we arrived and there was no toilet paper or soap available. I told a female member of staff and she said she would deal with it. 15 minutes later another member of my group went to use the toilet and there was still no toilet paper or soap available. There is only one single toilet for all the customers and it wasn't a busy time of day and there were at least 3 staff on. The fact that even when staff were told that there was no toilet paper and soap available that nothing was done straight away, personally makes me question the hygiene standards of this establishment. I don't know if this is also used as the staff toilet but if it is then they don't have access to toilet roll or soap to wash their hands after using the bathroom. This would definitely deter me from going back there again.

The place is conviniently positioned in the City Centre, so yu can have a nice break from your shopping or work. The atmospere is very relaxed and the staff very friendly.
