T. C.A really nice cafe that does a selection of hearty Vietnamese food, beer, cakes and cocktails. The food we had was a sizable main meal portion and really tasty. And the cakes looked and tasted amazing.
I can definitely see us coming back for beers and cake at least and the food if we are in the area and in need of it.
T. P.Coco Tang is one of the best places for food and drinks in Nottingham. The food is absolutely delicious and so fresh tasting. It would be great to have a few more vegetarian/vegan options, but what they do have is exceptional quality.
The cocktail menu very fun. The drinks are quirky and themed, but they do not let this affect the quality which is great to see.
I would definitely recommend trying the cakes for dessert, or coming here separately for coffee and a cake. It would be great little brunch date!
The staff also add to the experience. I wanted a pina colada on my last visit and even though they had run out of the ingredients for version on the menu, they offered to make me a classic one instead.

A. G.This is the first time I have had Vietnamese cuisine and it was a treat! The food was lovely - fresh salad leaves, meat full of flavour and tender - which blends well on the taste buds. The restaurant decor taking you to a different place.

My fiance and I had Pho soup which was a lovely winter warmer. As pictured you are given a separate plate to add as much chili's, basil leaves, beansprouts and lime as you want.
Plenty of meat in the pho soup which is hard to come by nowadays.
My sister ordered the ribs that were technically a side, but she doesn't eat much and that was more than enough for her. She said they were top class too.
The building itself is quite interesting too, quite rustic inside with multiple floors showing different creative styles from the restaurant owners.
Fried banana with coconut ice cream is a must. Flan was also quite nice.
Reasonably priced, a great experience, definitely going again.
N. S.I have been here several times. The food here is consistently good. The pho is flavourful, and the portion is generous. I especially like the bbq pork rib with hoisin sauce. Definitely a firm favourite in Nottingham.
C. T.Amazing Asian food here, highly recommend pineapple rice, and basically anything from the menu. They do great coffees, with a little variety of different beans. Everything is served in lovely locally made pottery (you can buy them too). Only downside is having to go back downstairs to order the food from the small coffee shop at the front. Would be nice to have the option to order on an app/website or for servers to take your order at the table.

My expectations not high, I expected a Vietnamese restaurant serving bad coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.
It is always a pleasant surprise to stumble across an excellent coffee shop. In many ways a surprise no one has ever mentioned to me.
I stayed and had a chat, but not a coffee, as I lacked the time, not yet had lunch.
Later I returned.
From the outside, tiny, inside a veritable rabbit warren.
A beautiful roof top garden. But please,No Smoking.
Down in the basement, a bar. There was also a bar behind the coffee shop.
On walking in, V60, Vietnamese pour over, EK43 grinder, an impressive custom made Slayer espresso machine from Seattle (of which are justifiably proud).At the rear, tucked in a corner past the bar, a Giessen roaster, on the floor sacks of green beans.
After a good look around I was handed a coffee menu with pictures of the various coffees served.
I chose a cappuccino. It was excellent.
I left with a bag of their house blend.
Everyone I spoke to went out of their way to be helpful.
My only criticism, in an otherwise impressive establishment, was storage and sale of the coffee beans. Stored in glass jars, exposed to light and exposed to oxygen each time the jar opened. There needs to be information on the provenance of the beans. This could be a postcard.
I can see a return visit to try the food, as unlike Pho (a corporate chain serving fake Vietnamese street food) the food authentic.

D. D.A warm welcome here. A lovely cafe with a nice range of Vietnamese food. You can smell and taste the freshness in the dishes. Has a roof top area for an outside/inside dining experience and a very nice cocktail menu. One to definitely try in Nottingham!

J.I walked past this cafe and I was drawn by the green interior background. After looking at the food menu, I decided to give it for dinner. The cafe had a lovely tropical interior which made me feel I was in Asia. I ordered pork springs rolls, pork patties and Vietnamese beef rice noodles. I enjoyed the food and would glad rate the cafe as 5* until I saw a burgundy hair strand in my beef rice noodles. I watched the kitchen staff preparing the food through the window and saw the kitchen staff with burgundy hair without having her hair tied up or wearing hair net which is common in the UK. However, she touched her hair without removing the disposable food gloves and continues to prepare food for other customers…
A. K.Not many vegan options but the ones they have are full of flavour. Their spring rolls are so good and so are all of their cooler drinks. Highly recommend giving them a try! The staff is also very kind and helpful.

L. X.Coco Tang is defintely one of the hip place I love coming to since I move to Notts a couple of years ago. It has nice ambience (an artsy vibe), the cocktails were really cute and I love the Vietnamese coffee. I won't say the food are legitly authentic, a little tuned down in terms of flavour. Still not bad and portions were huge. Can't remember the name of this, fried tofu and something noodle. It's my all time favourite. Eat it with lotsa fish sauce over the noodles, lovely.

I came for the Pho and it was a decent one. Not quite up there - given the beef reminded me of thick cut slices of Roastbeef , rather than thin-cut raw beef, but it was good nonetheless.

I had also visited House of Coco Tang before, where the entrance is on Bridlesmith Gate. The cafe is actually interconnected with the bar, where the decor is splendid also, and their cocktails are funky. I was delighted to have tried their Toblerone Cocktails, it’s a bit too sweet since it’s chocolate but very yummy :3

A.Me and my boyfriend recently had lunch here and it was probably one of my favourite restaurants I have been to. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink they serve, the décor was so pretty and the food was incredibly tasty. We also came back at night as this place has a nightclub in the basement, they served great cocktails! You must try this place either for food or a drink if you're visiting Nottingham!

Cocktails are expensive and no offers (unless you get the discount fob, but if you're not a regular goer then slightly redundant) but they are lovely, and the menu has changed many times in the years we've been going so things are fresh. We didn't have any food but it looks and smells delicious, so are planning to investigate more next time!

S. L. (. L.This was our third visit to Coco Tang. This time we went on a Sunday. Bit of a trek (from Doncaster) but well worth the visit. We were in a party of 10 but unfortunately there were no tables available for us to seat within the same area when we arrived (they don't take bookings so we arrived for 12noon, but obviously not early enough, as almost every table was taken). However, the staff went out of their way to ensure that as soon as two larger tables on the upper floor were free, we were given priority and therefore didn't have to wait too long. The service was excellent, the staff so friendly and obliging, the food delicious as usual. If you want somewhere special, different, with excellent service, try Coco Tang. 👍🏾😋❤
J. S.What a place! It's like 3 different venues in 1. Ground level is a mix of open plan seating with little hidden away areas too. In the cellar, it's a whole different place, with a beautiful looking bar area that I guess is just used at night. Upstairs has an outdoor courtyard and a kitchen where you can see some of the magic happening. And the food IS magic. I could have happily tried every dish if my stomach could cope. Authentic Vietnamese food, packed full of flavour. Soft shell crab was perfect, wings were spicy and delicious and the fish rice dish I had superb. Can't wait to go back

N. O.Coco Tang is my favourite place to eat and drink in town! We are very lucky in Nottingham to have this gem of a local place to enjoy. I have been drinking in the club for years and first tried the cafe about 2-3 years ago and must have eaten there over a dozen times. The Pho is a must-have, and the Bun Tro Bon is a personal favourite - the flavours are out of this world. Friendly staff and walk-ins only make this place a one of a kind. I’m sure I’ll be back in the coming weeks for some great food and amazing cocktails (Pineapple Grill is my personal favourite) - check it out when you’re next in town!

It also has a nightclub in the basement with a very reasonable happy hour on cocktails. We had a great anniversary meal here and were battered by about 10:30 having enjoyed restaurant happy hour and then in the nightclub. Nice!

Staff are polite and friendly, service is pretty prompt and all the dishes and different coffees have been nice. I'd recommend it as a place to go either on your own to chill/do work or to take friends if you want to impress them or treat them.
Check it out for yourself I doubt you will be disappointed.

There's a large verity of cold and hot drinks although they seem to sell out of the cold brews quickly which is a shame. It's quite expensive for cocktails outside of happy hour. Food is top notch and great for a light bite.
Definitely recommend for any coffee lover or Vietnamese food fan.

T. D.This place straddles the line between a restaurant and a cafe, quite successfully I have to say. The format can seem a little convoluted at first. Cafe drinks and food are ordered at the cafe counter but will be brought to your table. Alcoholic drinks and mock tails are ordered at the bar. But once you know the rules, the system works. It’s a popular place and there’s not a vast array of seating, but it’s enough. The food is Vietnamese street food in style. It’s very well prepared and tasty and arrives quite promptly. I thought the prices were reasonable although some of the smaller plates seemed too closely priced to the more substantial plates. My only criticism was that there were a few too many noodles in my salad and not enough vegetables. Staff were friendly and efficient.

The staff here are typically very friendly and helpful, and normally I’d give a 5-star review. However I think the place could really benefit from offering table service as having to order food at one counter and then drinks at another - which can be on a different floor to which you’re sitting - can be a bit annoying due to the disjointedness and requirement to doubly queue. On a number of occasions it has actually deterred us from staying on for further drinks, going instead to bars which offer table service. It’s a great environment to be in, and would be happy to spend my money here than elsewhere, so would be great to see table service integrated into their systems sometime soon. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

M. M.I went to a 'soft open' at this Vietnamese cafe/restaurant which is yet to open officially. The range was therefore limited, especially for us veggies, but it looks promising for the future. There is no table service; you have to order at the counter. Portion size was excellent. The highlight for me was the salad element. There is a good range of teas to choose from too. One of our vegetarian dishes did taste a bit dodgy, as if maybe some oil was used that had previously fried fish. The waiter didn't seem to recognise the dish names either and there was a mix-up. Hopefully such teething troubles can be ironed out and the cafe will become a Nottingham attraction for Vietnamese food.
