I loved the summer watermelon ice cream and the coffee one! The ice cream is really tasty and you can taste the flavor and not just the ice taste at the normal cheap ice cream place.

This is THE place to go for ice cream in York. One scoop is plenty (coming from an ice cream fanatic) the portion was so generous! So many flavour options and toppings available. Hoping to come back with an empty stomach to try two scoops of different flavours. I had the raspberry ripple, my partner has chocolate orange, we loved both of them! Such a cute atmosphere inside also.

Never thought to pop in because it looks like you'd pay through the nose for ice-cream. HOWEVER so wrong and well worth a visit. Cute shop with seating inside and out. The ice-cream!!! It's absolutely lush and so many flavours to choose from and delicious cakes as well. Prices might be shocking at first but for the portion size and quality it's actually reasonable. I've had similar priced ice-cream and cake elsewhere and LICC is out of this world in comparison. Staff were lovely and friendly. Definitely paying for quality. Thank you guys

The ice-cream alone was 10/10. This review will be nothing but positive. The staff were fabulous the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed and the flavour range was up there. The ice cream itself was flavourful and delicious and the toppings range was like nothing I've ever seen. I had dinosaur sprinkles on my ice-cream as seen in the photo. Honestly the whole experience was fabulous and we will definitely be back!

Very tasty, delicious ice cream but a bit too sweet and not too much freezed. In results they melting way too quick. The one portion costs £3,95 but is really big. I recommend only for fans of large amount of sugar.

Came here because they do vegan ice cream. Was very impressed with the flavour - tasted just as good, if not better than the real thing. Price seemed a little steep at first until I saw the size of the thing - absolutely massive and probably the biggest ice cream I've ever eaten.

Bigger portions than expected but such creamy delicious gelato. Take LICC, Dawn Argyle’s shop in York. At LICC (which stands for the Luxury Ice Cream Company), Dawn — something of a UK parlour pioneer — makes her own ice cream and, at last count, had devised around 230 different recipes. But that was last week. She might have thought up 10 more by now. Her ice creams have two things in common: they are freshly made on the premises and none of them are boring. For example, there’s pear and ginger cheesecake, orange and cranberry, Oreo, ginger biscuit, Bakewell tart, Malteser, Turkish Delight, jelly bean, bubblegum, custard cream, English trifle, American apple pie, peanut butter jelly, orange and marmalade, and seasonal ones including stollen, mince pie, Christmas pudding, figgy pudding, fig cheesecake and cinnamon

We visited twice during our time in York, the first was a 5 star visit. The second barely a 2 star. Was cash only, which I get technical issues happen. But the customer in front of me was made to feel uncomfortable when what I assume was the manager barked at the counter assistant, make sure he has cash before putting the icecream on the cone. When it was my turn I was told there were only large tubs available today and as it was for my 7 to I said can you put just one scoop in a two scoop tub? She said she wasn't allowed and looked uncomfortable. So I asked if I could have an empty tub and I ordered a 1 scoop cone and stuck it in the tub. Again what I assume was the manager glared at me like I was stealing something. Had this been our first visit we wouldn't have returned. In short, lovely icecream and lovely staff. Awful management and customer service policies.

I don't think there is any doubt reading the reviews here and in my own experience that this is the best ice cream in York. As others have said, you can try any flavours before you buy. In the past I've had chocolate, rum and raisin, salted caramel, white chocolate and raspberry, mango ice cream, mango sorbet, passionfruit ice cream, passionfruit sorbet. Yesterday I had bakewell tart and passionfruit ice-cream. A strange combination you might think but the flavours are so delicate they compliment each other perfectly with a little tang from the passionfruit really cleaning the palate. Other interesting flavours I saw yesterday included orange marmalade, malteaser and strawberry. I could go on but there was around 30 flavours on offer and I wouldn't hesitate to say that I'd love to try them all. £4 for 2 generous scoops in a waffle cone will leave you plenty satisfied and, if you're quick enough, might not have melted by the time you finish it!

Me and my boyfriend came here today for our first ice cream of the summer as the weather was lovely. Arrived at around 3pm so later in the afternoon but there was still a queue outside, we didn't have to wait too long before we got to look at the scrumptious delights. I chose a large tub with white chocolate and raspberry and my boyfriend chose a large tub with malteasers and salted fudge caramel. I loved the raspberry, it was fruity without being tart but I was a little disappointed with the white chocolate. I LOVE white chocolate, it's my chocolate of choice but this flavour tasted a little synthetic rather than melted down white chocolate mixed in with the ice cream which is what I expected. My boyfriend LOVED his flavours especially the Maltesers but he found some rather large salty bits in the the salted fudge caramel and the fudge was hard rather than squishy but I guess thats because it's mixed into the ice cream which has to be kept cold. The quality of the ice cream was great, quite thick and creamy. We will definitely be back again! We went and enjoyed our ice creams in Minster Yard in the lovely sunshine....besutiful!
