First Mortgage is an outstanding service, with the team going above and beyond in helping you through the process, whether you're a first time buyer like us, or already experienced in purchasing a property. They provided advice and guidance all throughout the process, from start to finish, in a very professional and meticulous manner. Our dedicated mortgage advisor walked us though our financial and mortgage options, and our client relationship manager made sure to chase up the lender and keep us apprised of the progress of our application. Third time my partner and I have used First Mortgage when moving or remortgaging. Nice straightforward advice - offered to us both via video call and in person, at our discretion. What can I say? I went into this new journey as a first time home buyer with my husband completely confused and terrified of how we were going to achieve getting our first mortgage. Andrew who advised us could not have been more reassuring and put any doubts we had to rest. He explained the whole process from start to finish in a way that even an American could understand. For me I didn't think our prospects of securing a mortgage was very high as my husband and I don't have the greatest credit ratings and our deposit wasn't where it needed to be. We're blown away by the service we've received from First Mortgage and would happily recommend the place to everyone we know. That's it in a nutshell for anyone looking for some reassurance before they take the plunge! But there's more detail below about our specific experience with the company, different branches, and how we found it as British-Asian buyers. First Mortgage was recommended to us by three friends (who live across Edinburgh and Glasgow, so different branches, and all raved about the 5* service). Therefore, we were expecting great service already with efficiency and transparency. We got exactly that but also got total honesty, kindness, and remarkable helpfulness from Paul McNair, who was our mortgage broker throughout the experience from the Glasgow Partick branch. It wasn't a one-off either; we started our enquiry around January 2021 and Paul has remained the same steady, incredibly helpful and knowledgable advisor throughout and we're now in April. At one stage, Paul hand-delivered some paperwork to us as he lives a few minutes from our place and we didn't have a printer (for some paperwork that required a wet signature). Paul insisted on helping rather than us paying a small fortune to print the items. It also helped us avoid the Post Office (I'm asthmatic and so we take extra precautions due to COVID-19). Donna Pedan later was assigned as our relationship manager when our mortgage was being finalised. Again, we were treated with personal friendliness. I'm English-Bangladeshi and my husband is Scottish/part-Chinese. There can sometimes be a concern that you will be treated differently, perhaps not be seen as much a valuable client due to maybe some unconscious bias about financial situations, or our names can be pronounced incorrectly despite repeated corrections, which is really uncomfortable and frustrating, but there was nothing like that at all with First Mortgage. Paul was always full of laughter and couldn't have been more open and friendly, which made us feel like valuable clients. We also felt we could ask every question we had as first time buyers without feeling daft. Altogether a fantastic experience. I would recommend First Mortgage to all. If you've been on the fence and wondered if going to the lender directly might be best, I would say stuff that and try Fist Mortgage instead. Zero sales pressure and all the knowledge, and a real feeling that people who work here like Paul genuinely want you to get the best deal. We're now moving shortly to the home of our dreams, have a mortgage we are truly happy with, and are certain it's the best offer out there just now for our specific circumstances. In summary, a seamless and positive experience.

I contacted First Mortgage to help me source a mortgage as a self employed individual. I received a phone call from a very friendly and helpful member of staff who set me with with an appointment with Paul.
