My fixed mortgage term was nearly up so I got in touch with Craig and I am very glad that I did! Right from the off set I experienced first class service! I heard back from Craig very promptly and my appointment time fitted into my busy schedule. Craig requested some documents before our appointment which meant the actual appointment focused solely on the products he had found which were suitable for me. He made what I thought was going to be a stressful and time consuming process, easy and hassle free. My mortgage was all sorted that same day. I have already recommended Craig to friends and will definitely be getting back in touch when this next term is up. The icing on the cake: his advice is all absolutely free!

Craig Preston is informative, efficient and insightful in the advice that he gives. He helped us find the best available rate when the mortgage interest rates were very volatile and he clearly worked into the late evenings to ensure that he didn’t let us, or his other clients down. My husband and I are first time buyers, currently buying a house with the help of first mortgage. First mortgage helped us brilliantly through the process. Craig Preston was our main consultant. His service was fantastic - always prompt responses to emails and calls and explained everything in detail (multiple times as we kept forgetting things). Specifically, he helped us first to understand the steps to buy a house before we even started looking. Then when we found a house he literally took us by the hand and walked us through every single step of the process. Thus, everything went very smoothly - also thanks to regular updates by his colleague Cameron Christie. My own personal experience from starting my mortgage journey at the end of September has been quite the rollercoaster due to the current economic climate within the country. What I thought might have been a straightforward process turned out not to be, for various reasons, but I have got there in the end with the continued help and support of First Mortgage after 3 months of twists and turns. I could not have done this without the fantastic help of Craig Preston and latterly Rachel Gordon, both from the Livingston branch. As a first-time buyer, no question was too much for Craig to answer (and I had A LOT of them!) whilst Rachel kept me, as promised updated regularly once my application was submitted. They have the patience of a saint! Our second time using First Mortgage. Arranged our original mortgage five years ago at the Tollcross branch, and went to Craig at the new Livingston branch for our remortgage. Craig was really helpful - came back to us quickly after our initial enquiry, got an appointment booked shortly after, and a new rate secured during our appointment. At a time when mortgage rates were shooting up and there was a lot of uncertainty, Craig was very reassuring. Rachel, our client relationship manager, has been great in keeping us up to date every few days on the progress of our application. Will definitely use again when our fixed rate ends.
