My property purchase saga dragged out over the course of almost 2 years, involving three different properties, two of which fell through late in the process for unrelated reasons. We have used Independent James for all our mortgages. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Mortgages can be fraught with difficulty, especially if you are self employed, which we are. Independent James knows how to handle all the edge cases, as well as the straight forward mortgage applications, and they do it with extremely clear, friendly and timely communication. If you find mortgages challenging or confusing, or just too time consuming, you should contact Independent James. I really don't see us ever using anyone else.

As we aren’t UK citizens, the process is always more complicated and most others told us we would need a very substantial deposit to have a bank even consider us. Independent James was able to very quickly secure us an excellent mortgage rate. They did also offer to assist with mortgage insurance but I found their approach less helpful here. The insurance brokerage service was offered through emails that were very templated and cookie cutter. Overall, on the mortgage side, I highly recommend them.
