My experience has been good throughout, everyone has explained the process in easy-to-understand laymen's terms and been available both through digital media and on the end of a phone line. The transparent nature of the transaction was fair and upfront, from auction prices to the offer itself (along with organising a conservator and independent valuer, who was also very easy to deal with). This could be a rather difficult process and trust is key to making the experience one of ease rather than feeling you are being 'patronised' or 'ripped off', knowing the people are there to talk to you and answer your questions allowed one to enter the world of the international art market in a dignified and confident way. My Art Broker helped me to sell my rare, signed (of 150 edition) Girl With A Balloon, by Banksy. Every aspect of my dealings with Joe & his fantastic team & company have been seamlessly-smooth. Right from the offset they ensured all insurances were in place to protect the works when in their possession, they then organised a brilliant Conservator (at their own expense) to lightly-spruce the piece back to its most pristine original state - ensuring that not only did it reach the best sale price possible, but that it was also in the best condition possible for the buyer too. Considering the high value of the works, a buyer was found extremely quickly, and the entire deal, from first meeting Joe, to the funds landing in my account, was completed within one month. The fees were extremely fair also, way lower that the 30%+ commissions that the auction houses were quoting. Most importantly, a percentage of the final sale amount was shared back to Banksy too, through Artists Resale Rights - so hopefully he/she/they, can enjoy a nice Kebab from Jason Donervan on the Triangle - or maybe a couple of cold cans on Turbo Island instead? :-)

"I had been thinking about selling for about 6 months, I wanted expertise and not a small amount of surety, I was anxious about my lack of knowledge in all areas of a transaction like this and felt vulnerable. I contacted a number well known auctioneers, overall, the responses were lack lustre and trying to get understandable terms and conditions was time consuming and difficult. Even getting an overview of the process was most often reluctantly given and often ambiguous and fluid. I contacted MyArtBroker online and let them know what I was thinking about selling. Joe contacted me the same day, we spoke the next day, we discussed the price and about 2 weeks later we agreed a sale. We exchanged contracts and the following week, a Courier came over from the UK to Ireland and collected the print. There was some slight damage to the back of the print caused by a previous framing, Joe also arranged for this to be renovated, at the leading provider. The auction houses wanted £1000 to cover shipping to London and God only knows what they would have done with a renovation opportunity. MyArtBroker covered the cost of shipping and renovation. A couple of days later Joe transferred payment and we arranged for the COA to be collected. Joe provided true white glove service throughout the transaction, only he offered and provided direct contact, this, important in itself is not the main I reason I will be using his company again. After my first conversation with Joe, I trusted him and my trust was well placed. Thanks Joe.”

What a fantastic company and what a positive experience! I cannot recommend My Art Broker highly enough. From initially contacting Joe, through to the completion of the sale the whole process has been positive and smooth. Joe came through on every promise he made and always answered my many questions with honesty, integrity and expertise. He has a good relationship with PCO and was able to help us get the COA we needed in order to sell our print. The sale price he got us was in line with the market value and every penny of the sale was paid to us (there were no hidden fees or extras). My Art Broker paid to have the piece flattened and lightly cleaned to restore it to its original condition (it was mint, but this was a little extra polish to make it even more saleable). The piece was looked after at their fully insured premises while the sale went through and was not released until all funds were cleared. Joe also obtained a 10% deposit for us, which was paid to us in advance of the sale completion. I would thoroughly recommend selling through My Art Broker, they know the market inside out, have many contacts and will get you the right price (commission free) for your piece. Joe has just helped us with a sale of an unsigned Banksy print. The whole process from initial contact to sale was completed within 16 days and included 10 days of conservation of the picture (had it not needed a few little mounting adhesives taken off the back it would have been even quicker). He achieved a price that was higher than both Sotherbys and Christies predicted and we didn't have to wait for the uncertainty of an auction process. I have bought (and sold) several works by Banksy through them over the past 5 years including, recently, a signed Love Rat. Their service is excellent and I haven't had any problems with payment (in either direction) or receipt of PEST certificates. All the prints were in mint condition as promised and in my experience you can buy (and sell) with absolute confidence. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

The downside in collecting art has always been that when you tire of a painting it can be a nightmare to move it on. All too often, when you want to sell, the gallery from where you bought an 'exciting painting' has either lost interest in it or has coincidentally 'just taken on half a dozen works by that artist' and can't help you.
