I have found Marmalade to be very easy to use and very convenient for getting periods of insurance for both of my children as they learnt to drive. It neatly fits the requirements for learners without complicating the main insurance.

Marmalade can be closely compared to a good night out on cheap drinks , Everything goes swimmingly from the start , incredibly cheap insurance , easy sign up process and co-operative staff . I got my insurance as a learner and have used marmalade for my first year as a full driver and am renewing this year also. The black box powers itself and as about the size of an AirPods case , it sticks behind your mirror and makes no fuss. The hangover of marmalade is that the black box tracks everything (speed , accelerating, braking , phone use and cornering) for this reason they have lost a star , although this is what makes the insurance cheaper , it can be a proper Bacall ache dealing with all these trackers. Quality insurance especially if you drive sensibly

My grandson was home from university so I wanted to teach him to drive in my company car (I own the company). However every insurance company I contacted would only insure him for a year, which was no good as he was only home for a few weeks. Marmalade were the only company that would cover him for less than a year. I found them professional, easy to contact, and good value for money.

Marmalades named driver insurance is brilliant for learners, I was able to get a test for a few months but wanted to keep driving and didn't want to keep paying for lessons every week so I got my own insurance on my parents car with marmalades named driver insurance, and I can chose how long I want to be insured for. Honestly if you're wanting young driver insurance go with marmalade.

Would have been great having paid for 3 months cover to help my daughter learn to drive. However, the car has been and still is locked on the drive for the last 3 months or so and because of lockdown rules only essential journey's are possible, which negates learner driver's being on the road...

I have used Marmalade insurance on two occasions, and each time the whole process has been simple and straightforward. Their insurance policies are highly recommended because they are good value and the company is great to deal with.

Use this insurance on my Mums 1.0 Suzuki Alto at £80 a month. If you have the opportunity to use this insurance over any other black box insurance, I would choose this one. The black box is extremely lenient on my driving. Have gone over the speed limit by a lot on occasion (by accident ;) ) and it hasn't dropped my rating. Would recommend to anyone who can use it.

The concept is good, but it is let down by poor execution. Speeding monitoring does not work fully on the app or dashboard (and has not done so for almost 12 months!) and the braking algorithm is very dubious - braking from 50--45mph does not get noted, but 10-5mph does. My daughter was penalised when she stalled! I was apparently speeding doing a 3 point turn

I have always raged about how great Marmalade has been, and will continue to do so. Having had the black box for almost a year now, it's not as bad as I thought it would be, having had my brothers complain about their black boxes with other insurers. It's a very lenient box, with it only moaning at me for my speed around roundabouts and a few slip roads onto motorways. But as most of my journeys are over 10 miles, over the average, it's only one or two percent off 100% score. You can push it over the limit a bit too when it comes to making overtakes. Customer service is great, be it by phone or email, and I've been with them from learner insurance to full license cover!
