Jane and Helen were amazing partners to work with. We renovated our cottage completely from afar while we were in Los Angeles. Their aesthetic choices perfectly fit with all our early reference conversations. They managed the lighting plan and custom joinery that elevated the cottage to the family home that we need with our move to the Cotswold. They remained on budget and on schedule for the entire project. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

We hired JH Designs to design and source all the interiors for our barn conversion in the Cotswolds. While the house was a new build conversion, it was a bit soulless inside, so we needed advice on furnishings, fabrics and lighting, together with a few improvement to the layout. On all these aspects, Jane came up with great ideas, listening carefully to what our requirements were, but also pointing us in directions we might not have considered. We're delighted with the end result. Just as important as the design input, Jane was very efficient at managing the significant amount of logistics that comes with a job like this: both in terms of coordinating deliveries around the builders, and making a lot of the small decisions with the builders on our part. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended.

I needed help with creating the decor for my 2 bed cottage and Helen was great. I knew what I liked but didn’t know where to start. We shared a Pinterest board where I added all the looks I liked, she then created a mood board which I approved straight away. Helen helped with everything, from paint colours to flooring, and whenever I was about to buy something I’d ping her just to make sure, and she’d always reply. If you’re thinking of getting help with ideas to redesign a room or whole house, I’d really recommend JH Designs.

We established the bare bones of the design in our very first meeting and then Jane had some great ideas for how to update some of our existing furniture so that the finished rooms are a lovely mix of new, recycled and newly sourced antiques. We could not recommend JH Designs more highly. We bought a 5 bed period cottage in July 2018, a very long held dream of ours so to say we wanted it to be perfect (and that I was a slightly demanding client) is an understatement and JH Designs delivered, we absolutely love it. Helen went above and beyond, we had 3 months to completely update and furnish the cottage, all remotely from the US. We only met once prior to work commencing and not again until I visited to see the results! Helen kept our builders honest, juggled contractors and all the while consulted with me on design via WhatsApp and Pinterest etc. I would recommend Helen for the project management alone, she makes sure the practical is taken care of as well as the pretty. We had a realistic budget and she stuck to it which is remarkable enough but as we learned she also has an amazing ability to design a truly beautiful home. Example of a recent guest review: “this is the best cottage I have ever stayed in, the attention to detail was incredible, it came equipped with ever single thing you could imagine to want or need and was decorated to such a great standard both modern but in keeping with the cottage style and feel! we didnt want to leave we loved it so much!!” We recommend without reservation. We initially remodelled the lounge of our cottage with Jane Lanyon. She listened to our ideas, offered excellent design advice and produced a costed, workable plan; but she did more than that. She executed the plan to budget with the help of her network of excellent tradesmen, and using local craftsmen where she could; in our case for ironmongery and re-upholstery. The remodelled and redesigned room that resulted remains a joy every time we walk in; so much so that we went back and asked her to upgrade our bathroom and then our kitchen, which were equally successful. Jane doesn't spend money where it isn't necessary, and will work to a sensibly negotiated budget. She makes common sense decisions where necessary and essentially takes away all the hassle and time required to upgrade your inside space. I would recommend her services without hesitation.
