This is a jewellery which MAKES bespoke jewellery on demand, to your specs, in a very reasonable amount of time and at a fair price. I was able to choose the metal I wanted and the precious stones (in this case Akoya pearls), as well as specify its size. This was done in a private setting and I was given plenty of time to thoroughly explain what I wanted, making sure I would get exactly what I desired - which I did (beautiful akoya pearls gold earrings, with a very safe butterfly back that I know will not fall by accident). I cannot recommend GemPort Jewellery highly enough and know without a shadow of a doubt that any jewellery I may want in the future will come from there. Bespoke it truly is.

Jo has been wonderful in making me an engagement ring in white gold set with multiple diamonds. I found Jo to be very clear and detailed about pricing, materials used, sizing etc, and that was very much appreciated. She even met me at 7am the day before I proposed, to give me a mock ring for the proposal. Then once my Fiancée said yes, we were invited in for the proper sizing. During the creation of our ring, Covid struck the GemPort team. But even though Jo immediately warned us of a potential delay, we still received our ring within the original timeframe. I lost my Mother over the Christmas period. The last keep sake that she gave me was a pair of silver cuff links. Years ago, I accidentally broke the clasp on one of cuff links and was desperate to get them repaired, so that I could wear them for my Mothers funeral. The first and only company that I considered for the repair was GemPort Jewellery . The reasons for this are,: The cuff links are priceless to me and cannot be replaced, The repair is not straight forward and is in a very delicate place and with my experience with GemPort, they always deliver a quality job, on time and within a realistic budget. My son in law (to be), Kris, asked my advice on who he should use to purchase the engagement ring for my daughter. I had no hesitation in recommending Jo and Dave from GemPort Jewellery. We have used them for pieces in the past and always been very happy. The engagement ring was going to be quite unique as it was using the diamonds from a couple of rings that I already had and were gifting to my daughter. In these “unusual times” Kris had Zoom calls with Dave and Jo who took him through various options on designs, changes that could be made and prices. The process was kept very simple and stress free. The final design was shown to him for agreement and he was more than happy with what he had chosen and how it looked. We had to wait a little longer than normal for the finished piece, due to Covid and the impact that was having on the supply of raw materials, but Dave and Jo kept us updated all the way through and did their best to push things on where they could. When Kris eventually got the ring – WOW – it was amazing. So much better even in real life than any of the photos or images that we had been sent. Obviously she said yes! The design is completely bespoke and unique and will be something that my daughter will always treasure. Thank you Dave, Jo and the team at GemPort. You made the whole experience as stress free as possible and your personal service and attention to detail couldn’t be better.

My mom had bought a bridal set costing her a small fortune from H Samuels last year, and she has never been happy with them. She has had them adjusted a few times with H Samuels and on every occasion, they have come another issue has risen with the rings. Again, through BNI I had met Jo and told mom to she should take the rings to Jo at GemPort and see what they can do after all she has never been satisfied with H Samuel. My mom suffers with Fibromyalgia and often has bad days where she can barely move, and she also suffers with anxiety so meeting new people or going out to new places are quite a big issue for mom. I did not tell Jo about any of this, but my mom was very nervous before going. She called me 3 hours after the appointment, and she was buzzing. She had an amazing time with Jo, not feeling pressured into buying anything and not feeling rushed in the review, Jo had my mom’s best interest at heart. My mom was very happy with her purchases and has not stopped talking about the experience she had with Jo at GemPort. She cannot wait to see her personalised diamonds in a platinum setting. What a great experience we had recently at Gemport Jewellery. Very different from any other jewellers I have been in. Dave and Joy made us very welcome and explained clearly when we asked questions. For Christmas I brought my Girlfriend a beautiful ring from Jo and she absolutely loved it. However, she had a clumsy moment at the start of lockdown and managed to get the ring trapped under the sofa leg and it broke quite severely! Jo managed to reassure her that it was fixable. I recently used David and Jo at Gemport to design and build a bespoke tiffany-style diamond engagement ring for my fiancé. The ring Gemport delivered knocked my socks off. It looks fantastic, is slightly brighter than the sun, and the build quality is superb. I like the way Gemport prides itself on a far more personal experience than most jewellers are able to deliver, and its emphasis on taking the time necessary, on an appointment basis, to understand exactly what I needed and why. I also like its premises. The business operates from a tasteful building in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter, refreshingly well-removed from the hustle and bustle of the main jewellers’ strip. It benefits from tonnes of natural light, which pours through its large windows and is perfect for looking at diamonds. I got a clear idea of how sparkly they all were, without being fooled by the artificial lighting I saw almost everywhere else. David and Jo are both very knowledgeable, and Jo clearly has a passion for diamonds which was reflected in the quality of advice and the selection of diamonds to choose from. They also appeared to have superb connections with other experts in the industry, from CAD designers, diamond merchants and workshop engineers. All this lead to a very smooth process. Having called upon Dave Turner from Gemport Jewellery with the slightest of deadlines to source a Gem as a raffle prize for one of our events, I couldn't be happier. They gave me advice and guidance on what would look better on the ring. But adopted it around my budget. I had a design in mind and between my self and gemport we made that design a reality. The gave me the contact details for any questions I had. I had many conversations with Jo regarding where my ring was in the process. Once I did the deed in new York sadly the ring did not fit and gemport were happily there to change the size no problem. They even cleaned my chain for which made it look brand new.
