We visited the Jewellery Quarter a week ago looking to buy earings for a special Birthday for my Daughter and happened to drop lucky on a shop just off Warstone lane, Universal Gems Ltd. we are so pleased we did we were welcomed by a very polite gentleman who introduced himself as Peter.he was very helpful and pleasant he showed us various pairs of earings at different prices and we found a lovely pair white gold with diamonds all we can say is , Peter was more than fair to us and would certainly recommend this shop to anyone. Bit of a strange review as we didn’t purchases anything from universal gems. We visited the jewellery quarter on 1st November looking for a replacement diamond for my wife’s engagement ring that we had lost earlier in the year. We was greeted by Peter who was friendly polite and very knowledgeable and provide my wife and I wanna with plenty of information regarding our replacement stone. Even when we went away and looked at another diamond in a different shop he was prepared to match their price. Like I mentioned at the start it’s a strange review as we didn’t purchase anything but the only reason we didn’t is we found what we was looking for in the shop that we had been recommended - otherwise Peter would have had our custom

Having dropped by a few shops in the jewelry quarter previously, I knew roughly that I wasn't looking for a diamond-encrusted mafia-esque set-piece engagement ring, but rather a tasteful ring with a blue topaz centerpiece. Peter instantly knew exactly what I was after, and working within my budget, he offered to include two diamonds in a trilogy design on either side of the topaz - all on a white gold mount. Well, four days later, he had the ring ready, but instead of white gold - platinum! He even offered to resize the ring if necessary. My partner and I went to the jewellery quarter a few times and we were looking to have a bespoke , Art Deco asscher cut diamond trilogy ring made . We went in a lot of shops and they tried to put me off this cut as it wasn’t a popular choice . I also wanted a thick band in platinum . Luckily we just popped in universal gems and met Pete and he was so knowledgeable and helpful and told me his wife had an asscher diamond and thought it would look perfect and from there we designed the most beautiful ring ! It was everything I’d wanted and more . When we went to collect the ring his wife was there and they made me feel so special . We loved the fact that it felt like a family business and wanted to write the review to thank Pete and his wife for making it a memorable experience and would recommend them to anyone and will use them in the future .
