I wanted my engagement ring redesigned using one of my mum's rings that had broken. I'm still in awe of the craftsmanship and the service provided. Would highly recommened this place all the staff were lovely.

The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is because I was really disappointed that when I asked if they could clean my engagement ring & wedding ring they just dipped them. I was spending £4000 with them so asked again after disappointing the rings weren’t any better and the assistant then agreed to do them. They then came out beautiful! Other issue is after 3 months I was still waiting for valuation certificate which I had to ring up for and it wasn’t valued as much as they originally told me it would be? A little disappointed! Very polite staff.

My engagement ring came from here and it is the most exquisite item of jewellery I have. We were on a bit of a tight deadline as we had 8 weeks till our wedding and they turned it around in 6. The lovely lady that dealt with us initially, could not have been better, knew her stuff, was so enthusiastic and, most importantly, not pushy in any way. We'd gone into a couple of jewelers in the jewelery quarter before coming here and we were not impressed but Victoria James was utterly enchanting. Despite Covid restrictions, all the staff at Victoria James made the experience a pleasant one. From the first appointment where I had little idea of what sort of engagement ring I was looking for, to the second and third appointment in selecting the right diamond and setting, I was met with clear and helpful advice, never condescending or pressured. I learnt so much from the staff and it was made all the more special that the ring was made right there in the workshop. Would thoroughly recommend!

When choosing an engagement ring they really stood out amongst the jewellery quarter shops as they have a great selection of contemporary and Art Deco designs. When my lovely husband said he wanted to buy me an eternity ring there was only one place to go and that was back to Victoria James. Professional advice and no pushy sales tactics. Plus they cleaned and polished our old rings. I picked up my ring yesterday and its stunning. I'm over the moon with it. I would much rather use a family business who design and manufacture in house, than a high street jewellers.

After spending a whole day exploring the jewellery Quarter for The One Ring (not Sauron's...but THE ring to propose to my girlfriend), Victoria James were the clear winners. They had the best range and good prices. A big selling point was the feel of the place: not the biggest jewellers there at all, but felt a lot more personal and enjoyable. Great service, they even gave me a free model of a ring that I could use for the proposal (abroad while the real ring was being made), which was so helpful! I recently bought an item from this jewelers. The staff were professional throughout and the quality of the product with the addition of ongoing service is beyond what I had hoped for.

Amazing service!... the clasp on my gold bracelet had broken and a work colleague had to it cut with bolt cutters to remove it from my wrist. So you can imagine the damage that had been caused, it has great sentimental value and I was so worried that it was beyond repair, Thankfully I came across Victoria James and the magician that is Geoff !. It was like a moment from ‘The Repair Shop’ when I went to collect it, this had been more of a restoration than repair, I was overwhelmed that it was back to new again!. The whole experience from my initial phone call, to the visits to the shop, all the staff I met were so helpful, the communication by email and text too was excellent. Fantastic service from a friendly family run business. I designed my fiancées engagement ring with their help and assistance, agreed a great price and when the ring was finished it was much more stunning than I could of ever imagined. Fantastic experience at Victoria James. My mum gave me her engagement ring which years ago it had been reset very badly. Three jewellers in the jewellery quarter said they would have to start again with a pre made 'off the shelf' setting but Victoria James understood what I wanted and remodelled the setting beautifully. We looked at many other shops online and also in the jewellery quarter and struggled with what we required for our wedding rings. Within 5 minutes in Geoff’s company, we knew that this was a man with many years experience and felt completely at ease. He designed our weddings bands and give us enough information in 40 minutes for us to be totally satisfied. My Fiancée Gena wanted her engagement ring thinned slightly at the top to suit the future wedding ring. Geoff told us to go for lunch and on our return he had thinned and polished her diamond ring and had all the paperwork ready for us. I would highly recommend going there as they make you feel completely at ease with their professionalism and experience. I was also very happy with the prices. Amazing Service! I’m amazed how patient and helpful the staff (Leah) was when choosing an engagement ring 💍. After a pretty terrible experience at a major high street jewellers I found Victoria James to be absolutely brilliant! I Initially bought an engagement ring from Victoria James last May, and since then we have now also bought our engagement bands too. Both experiences were faultless from start to finish. Initially picking the diamond and band shape was a really lovely experience, and something they guided me through without being pushy or salesy at all. I picked Victoria James out of the vast array of jewellers in the Jewellery Quarter, simply because they came up as somewhere where I could get a repair of my engagement ring, along with advice about possible re-design of it, as I was not sure which way to go. Victoria James repaired my very precious antique engagement ring.The shank reshaped and a couple of diamonds reset. I was very worried about leaving my ring as I hadn't taken it off for about 35 years! I needn't have worried, it was in very good hands. I collected it this morning and the work done is superb. I took in my engagement ring to be resized. It is a family ring so I wanted to be sure that it was in good hands. It has to be sized down 4 sizes and Clive did a great job of explaining whether it would be possible and what to realistically expect. I recently had my wedding ring (of 46 yr) enlarged and the pattern re-worked. Geoff and another jeweller were very helpful and supportive. They did a wonderful job at a very good price, so I asked them to enlarge my engagement ring, to be worn on my other hand, as a dress ring. That was a good price too. When I went to collect the ring, my arthritic finger had swollen more. Geoff adjusted the ring for me, there and then, for no extra cost, and was very gentle and empathetic in his approach. We returned to have our wedding rings made, as they deal in Fair trade gold, which was something that was really important to us. The young woman who helped me was very kind professional, explained a little about their business. I gave her my budget and there was no hard selling above this. I popped into Victoria James one day looking to get a custom made diamond ring and then changed my mind as my fiance wanted something different. I was then hunting for a very specific naturally coloured diamond stone and after a few emails to and fro, I was asked to come in to have a look at 3 stones they had sourced. (Something many jewellers could not even get their hands on). I booked an appointment asap and then a week later made a decision. It was extremely easy to explain the type of ring I wanted made and they confirmed all the aspects with me over the phone and via email. All members of staff were helpful, honest and extremely friendly. They got the diamond certified and the final piece was magnificent, within my set budget and exactly to specification. Recently had an engagement ring made with Victoria James Jewellers. It was the first Jewellers I visited. It’s a family jewellers. They were very friendly and knowledgable. I never felt intimidated and didn’t feel I was pushed into a sale. The store is filled with thank you cards from newly weds for their service. I showed the jeweller an image of what I wanted and it was made exactly the same. It took them 5 weeks for it to be made. Any amendments to the design and size were offered free of charge. But the end product was excellent. On collection the ring came with a certificate with all the details about the diamonds and a total value with a recommended insurance provider. We approached Victoria James with an idea of a bespoke dress ring we wanted made. We spoke to Geoff who treated us with the utmost respect and listened carefully to our requirements. He then made suggestions about the practicalities and the aesthetics of the ring. He also gave us an exact cost. We chose an opal from the stones in stock although Geoff would have been very happy to source another stone if we had required it. Geoff made the ring himself which was an oval opal surrounded by diamonds in an 18ct gold setting. The ring was made exactly to our specification and we are completely delighted with it. The ring after wearing it for a few weeks was a little big so we returned to the shop where it was resized at no extra cost. Expert service with a smile could not be faulted. Delighted! My Mum was quoted £950 to refurbish her 44 year old engagement ring by a High St Jeweller, she decided she was just going to leave it in the drawer. I took a chance and contacted Victoria James, to set up a consultation appointment to see what could be done, to at least allow her to wear it. We had a wonderful experience here. It was the second jewellers we visited. I found a lovely Art Deco Ascher cut diamond ring but felt I needed to check out everywhere else before I could commit. We came back towards the end of the day and bought the ring. Both the shop assistant and the jeweller were so friendly, helpful and cheerful they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They have the best selection of Art Deco inspired designs I have seen anywhere and they were very competitive on price. I took my late mother's engagement ring in to be repaired after I lost the diamond from it and being told by jewellers in Leicester it could not be prepared. After being told it could be repaired and the man selecting the best diamond to fit I happily handed over the ring and patiently waited for him to work his magic. My very best friend wanted to buy me a Claddagh ring, because of its special significance, for my birthday . He had looked at some in town but wasn't happy with them then he saw a picture of one in a publication. He asked me what I thought of it, and I liked it. I looked at lots of reviews for different Jewellers in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, and this shop got such favourable ones that it had to be our first shop to visit. It's a short taxi drive from the Bull Ring/New Street Station. We showed Geoff the picture, and we reassured him that he could make suggestions. He explained how he would like to make it, allowing for the fact that arthritis is kicking in a bit for me, and it all sounded wonderful to us both. We left a deposit and he said he would make contact within six weeks. It was only just over two weeks. When we saw it, we were so very pleased. Geoff put his experience, pride of his ability, care and love of jewellery into the ring so I am now a very proud owner of a Claddagh ring that no-one else will have. Geoff was very patient, not pushy, kind and even understood our humour - a lovely man who has been in the trade for 50 years and that experience shows. You can't do any better than this man. If ever I want anything made again I will hotfoot it to see Geoff. Thinking about it, I have a couple of my grandparents' rings that are of exceptional quality but are languishing in a box. That's a thought for another time!

Exellent throughout. Designed and built my missus' bespoke engagement ring. I really shopped around, taking in many jewellers in the jewellery quarter and beyond. Victoria James' quote, staff, build quality and ease of use put them far above others. I dealt almost exclusively with Leah, who was a picture of professionalism. Excited for me, helpful, knowledgable and flexible, she tolerated my doubts, concerns, and strived to make me feel important and looked after. My now fiancee and i are obsessed with her ring. It is the single most beautiful object we own. Victoria James created something that took in my wishes whilst refusing to compromise on build issues that ultimately would lead to a risk of losing stones etc. Other jewellers were happy to make me whatever as long as i paid. From start to finish, a pleasurable experience. We'll be returning for our wedding bands.
