I could not recommend Carter and Follows more to anyone in search of a custom ring! I had tried a few places in the lanes to try and help me make a wedding band to suit my engagement ring that is an unusual shape and height. No where was particularly helpful and felt quite deflated until I came across Carter and met Tom who's customer service was incredible and he immediately put me at ease. From the off Tom was really friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to help me design something I loved within my budget. I never felt rushed or pressured and he genuinely wanted to help me find something to work. He took moulds of my ring to make a 3D design which was so helpful to see how the rings would fit together. He even had my stone tightened on my engagement ring as he noticed it had come loose and it always came back sparkling clean when they borrowed it for wedding band fittings. His communication was brilliant and I was always up to date with where we were in the process. Penny helped match the diamonds perfectly and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result, it is even more perfect than I could have imagined! Thank you so much!!

We came across Carter and Follows on a day trip to Brighton and I honestly could not be happier with the service. Penny helped my fiance and I choose our wedding rings... she was incredibly patient (I'm awful at making decisions!!) and was so, so helpful. I don't want to sound too over the top, but in all honestly, choosing our wedding rings from this gorgeous jewellers was the easiest part of our wedding planning. Carter & Follows has given us the ultimate wedding ring experience in Brighton. Penny & Tom's service, communication and friendliness has been a pure joy to deal with. After visiting a few jewellery shops, with my Grandmother's ring, asking for a bespoke piece to be adapted into my wedding ring, many did not want to help, however Penny made it happen and I have come away with the most beautiful sentimental wedding ring that will be with me forever. Superb service and an exquisite product. Penny and Tom (the joint Directors of Carter & Follows) provide a wonderful customer journey from the first minute to the last - I would highly recommend C&F to anyone in need of a jeweller. Having spent several unsuccessful months trying to source an engagement ring in London for my partner, and feeling fairly demotivated, I came to Brighton in the faint hope that the change of scenery would trigger a change in my fortunes. And it did! I came across C&F whilst looking around the jewellery stores in the Lanes. I was greeted by both Tom and Penny, who were so patient and thoughtful in discussing the options available to me with the engagement ring. They covered off every aspect of the ring and diamond during the consultation, showing me numerous options and answering all my silly questions with commendable patience. This was incredibly helpful as I was able to narrow it down to exactly what my partner wanted (though admittedly I had some help from her sister there). I was already sold on them by that point having been blown away by their brilliant customer service, but they provided me with a very competitive quote for the ring too. This was the cherry on top of the cake. The ring turned out beautifully and whilst it needed resizing (my fault), C&F did this free of charge and with a really quick turnaround. My fiancee and I have now placed an order with them for the wedding bands, which again involved a super helpful and thorough consultation with Tom, and we're really excited to see how they turn out. Overall I couldn't be happier. And in case Penny and Tom read these reviews - thank you both so much for all of your help and for being so fab!

Highly recommend. Fantastic service Like most men I was a novice when it came to buying rings. I visited a few shops in the lanes and none came close to the help and guidance Penny gave me. The advice and the service is outstanding. So much so, after designing my the engagement ring, my partner and I went back and designed our wedding rings from them. A fantastic experience, we will be returning! We had been putting off browsing for wedding rings as we had absolutely no idea what we wanted, and didn’t want pushy sales. However the elegant window display at Carter and Follows drew us in. Penny couldn’t have been more helpful, patient, and passionate about her area of expertise. We had a wonderful experience, asking all sorts of questions about customisation and the many choices available to us. Through the vast number of options, we found two perfect rings. Carter and Follows worked to our relatively tight deadline (having left our search quite last-minute) and we collected these last week, as they were ready with ample time to spare. The rings are fantastic, a perfect fit and every bit as beautiful as promised. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the product, and our experience. Carter and Follows has turned out to be the first and only store we needed to go to!

We thought we would start to look for our wedding rings while on a day trip to Brighton and happened upon Carter & Follows as we walked around the Lanes. It was the first shop we went into and we were pretty clueless about the options! Tom was so helpful - he really took time to explain everything, let us try different rings, ask lots of questions and was really patient and kind - and not at all pushy. We were really happy with what we found and ordered the next day. Both Penny and Tom were great in keeping us updated and answering queries, and the rings arrived safely in a tracked parcel in plenty of time. They fit us both well and look lovely, so we didn't need to resize or make changes, although Tom had said this would be fine if needed. We are really happy to have bought our rings from them - we only discovered their 5 star reviews after, and fully agree with them all!

I have had the most amazing experience with Penny and Tom. I really thought the reviews were going to be too good to be true but i can 100% confirm these guys go above and beyond for their customers. They made me the most perfect wedding band after my daughter lost my original ring! After finally being reunited with a wedding ring and my engagement ring i was proudly wearing both together - but a week later i noticed a small diamond had fallen out of my engagement ring (which had nothing to do with C&F) I contacted Penny to ask how much it would cost for them to replace it for me and unbelievably she replied to say as i'd bought my wedding ring from them they would happily replace it for free. I wanted to say a massive thank you to Penny and Tom for helping me find the perfect engagement ring. I visited a lot of jewellers in Hatton Garden with little success and always came away thinking something wasnt quite right especially with the diamond selection. I came across Carter and Follows while visiting family in Brighton and I am so happy to have walked in to the store. Immediately I had a great sense that Penny and Tom knew exactly what they were talking and they made sure to go over all options. The knowledge I gained from Penny was invaluable and overall the service I have received from Penny and Tom has been impeccable. They both make you feel very very comfortable and I never felt any pressure to purchase anything even though I asked a lot of questions and they graciously gave up a lot of their time. I implore anyone that has been having a difficult time finding that perfect engagement ring to please visit them as I guarantee you will not be disappointed (especially having visited quite a few other shops, including a lot in Hatton Garden). I wholeheartedly recommend them and I have since bought both the engagement ring as well as diamond stud earrings. My partner was over the moon with both and suffice to say they are my "go to" jeweller shop. Highly recommend! Penny & Tom were both so fantastic helping us with our wedding rings. We were overwhelmed with their service and they are able to offer a service that no other jewellers in the lanes could offer when it comes to creating a new design - the CAD. We had been to various jewellers prior to finding this shop and felt very uneasy handing over money for something we didn’t know what would end up looking like. We were so pleased to find them as it was so helpful to be able to design our own rings and see what they looked like on the CAD before they were made them - and even try on a sample version before the real thing is made, allowing you every opportunity to make any adjustments! My ring was an exact fit to my very awkward shaped engagement ring and we we were over the moon to receive them. Their brilliant customer service was ongoing throughout making the ring and keeping us up to date on every step - making our whole experience wonderful, exactly as it should be (especially for a wedding).

Absolutely brilliant jewellery store in The Lanes. Unlike the other shops, they didn't come out and try to entice you inside when they saw you at their window, didn't make us feel uncomfortable and that we should buy something. Very fast service, we brought in photos of 2 rings that we loved but couldn't find anywhere. The staff at Carter and Follows created these rings going by the photos we brought in. We expected them to take a while to make especially as we chose them during the pandemic but frok walking into their shop to picking them up only took a couple of months. TL;DR - You will not regret buying a ring from Carter and Follows. They’re friendly and helpful and provide an excellent service without being at all pushy. Whilst wedding ring shopping we were lucky enough to stumble across Carter and Follows. Tom and Penny were so helpful, but due to the offset shape of the engagement ring, my fiancée quickly realised that a traditional band didn’t fit well with the ring but couldn’t find anything that worked. After wondering around a few shops, she found a ring that she liked, but it would have needed a major overhaul to make it fit and the jeweller that had the ring (NOT Carter and Follows!) didn’t fill us with confidence that the work would be of best quality. I suggest to her that we return to Carter and Follows and see if they could make a similar ring for us. Tom and Penny listened to the idea and their interpretation of it has exceeded all expectations. The ring itself is stunning and the fit next to the engagement ring is perfect. Tom and Penny are so friendly and helpful, which is the reason we decided to return to them. They made the entire experience easy and faultless without being at all pushy. Once the ring making was underway, they provided regular updates regarding the stage it was it and when it would be ready. We cannot recommend them highly enough. (My photo skills leave a lot to be desired. The rings look so much better in person!)

My partner and I bought our wedding bands and engagement ring from Carter and Follows, and found the whole experience flawless. Buying jewellery can feel daunting, but each step of the process was demystified by their caring and considered service. Tom and Penny were genuinely interested in what we were buying and spent time with us, asking questions and guiding us to a decision that best utilised our budget. At no point did we feel pressured or obligated to buy, and needlessly expensive items were not forced upon us. In the end, we chose a bespoke engagement ring, using a stone that Tom had ordered to the shop. This felt like the right decision, as it was unique to us and more contemporary than many of the rings we’d seen elsewhere. Yesterday, we visited the shop to collect the rings and each of them exceeded our expectations, both in terms of weight and finish. With so many jewellery shops in the Brighton Laines, it can be hard to distinguish where’s best to shop, yet if you’re on the coast or can make the trip, then Carter and Follows is definitely worth a visit. It’s nice to feel like a valued customer and along with the great service, the shop feels Covid-secure, which is vital these days.

Best jewellers in the South Lanes! Penny and her husband are a breath of fresh air among a crowded array of jewellery shops In the South Lanes. My partner and I both had our wedding rings made from Carter and Follows, and their service was incredible! My partners engagement ring wasn't easy to fit with another ring & she wasn't sure on colours/design, so they made a mould of the ring, creating a design to fit with it perfectly then made her a CAD drawing, then went even further in incredible service & made one in silver for her to try, all before we purchased the real thing in platinum. We are both sooo pleased with the end result and would like to thank Cater and Follows for their fantastic customer service and attention to detail. Highly recommended. 12/10.

Penny and Tom are the most amazing people, truly you won’t get a better service anywhere else. I knew that I would like my wedding band to be made from the sapphires and diamonds from my nanna’s eternity ring. I didn’t know anything else - as I’m not very clued up on jewellery, but that didn’t matter to Penny & Tom, as they worked through everything with me, choosing a style that would fit and suit my vintage 2nd hand engagement ring. They were more than happy to use the stones from my nan’s ring and we even made a pair of cuff links for my dad and husband to be with some of the stones too (on the hush of course) for a wedding gift. My now husband was even worse than me with regards what he wanted! He knew nothing, didn’t know what metal, type, finish or anything! We’d been to one jewellers back home and they’d got a bit frustrated with his lack of knowledge etc, so we had to leave feeling really bewildered and disappointed. Yet our experience with Penny and Tom was so very different. They worked through every stage, step by step and made it so easy for him. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so pleased with his choice! We both are. After our honeymoon when back in the UK, I found that my 2nd hand engagement ring would twist a little bit. I explained this to Penny and she put some little nodules on the inside of my ring. They are a perfect now and don’t move at all. They also resized my hubby’s ring too. They were sent back to us very securely with special post. Truly amazing service, they do what they do for the love of their craft and to make others smile. Fantastic experience in Carter and Follows! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by two smiley people who couldn’t of gone out of their way to help me more. I unfortunately lost the stone in my engagement ring and they gave me so many options of how I could make my ring exactly how I wanted it again.
