First time selling pictures through Rogers Jones and couldn't have been more impressed with the results. From initial online valuations to the setting of sensible reserves, the whole service was efficient and impressive. All three paintings we'd entered for the Welsh sale in March sold well, with two selling for significantly more than their reserves. Delighted both with the service and the result.

Whilst moving home and downsizing some years ago we used Rogers Jones Auctions in Cardiff to sell an oil painting and some furniture. It went well. Cannot praise highly enough. Recently sold an inherited pendant and chain through Rogers Jones & Co and they were brilliant every step of the way. Ben undertook a lot of research for an item I put in a recent Welsh sale. A special mention for West Wales regional valuer Charles Hampshire who gave excellent professional advice when I took some items to the Carmarthen office for valuation. He was very kind, understanding that some things carry sentimental value and did not push for business. His valuations were accurate, the items that were sold acheiving or exceeding the estimates. My wife and I attended one of the regular Rogers Jones local valuation days with a random mix of 4 items including artworks, an antique map and a piece of antique jewellery. The meeting was friendly and nicely informal. Charles Hampshire, regional auctioneer and valuer for West Wales, showed real interest in our items and suggested half should be sold in the next Vintage and Antiques Auction and half in one of their very popular Welsh Sales. We were happy to accept these recommendations and left our items with Charles. From that point on we were able to step back and the auctioneers did the rest. After being informed of the price guides, etc. we were provided with a lavishly illustrated auction catalogue. Watching the auction live online, we were delighted that each of our items far exceeded the guide price. The whole process was very user-friendly and we would like to thank Rogers Jones Co, Cardiff, for their support and professionalism throughout. We look forward to doing business with them again in the near future.

I am a senior citizen approaching my eightieth birthday. Recently, I experienced a sudden, unexpected serious illness and I realised that I would have to downsize and probably move from my home. I contacted Rogers Jones Auctioneers , initially by telephone, regarding the possible sale of some of my "object d'art" , which I had accumulated over many year. Arrangements for a visit to my home , at a mutually convenient date and time was speedily arranged , in order that a representative of the company could examine the items that I wished to dispose of at auction. At the subsequent visit, I received advice, as to which of the items was suitable for a future sale, the estimated value of each item, possible grouping of items into separate lots, recommended estimates and reserves , the procedure for submission and collection of items and the dates of forthcoming sales to which my items could be assigned. ( Rogers Jones holds regular auction sales, details of which one is able to view on the internet. I was also advised that the company organises regular " open days" at various venues, where items may be taken for valuation). Following my decision to sell , my items were collected, catalogued and estimates provided, with recommended reserves, as necessary, put in place and within no time , my items appeared in an illustrated catalogue of a future sale. Some of the items, for example paintings, were held back for entry into a specialist sale, which Rogers Jones holds from time to time. At the sale most of my items sold within, or in excess of estimates. A few failed to sell and I was given the opportunity to put the items into a future sale, or to arrange for recollection. Before the sale I received a copy of the company's terms and conditions for selling. After the sale my account was settled within the prescribed time scale. All the staff representatives, who I met , or spoke with , I found to be extremely courteous individuals helpful, knowledgeable, attentive to detail and able to offer appropriate advice in an extremely friendly manner. I am so pleased that I have now downsized and will be able to move home, if or when, necessary. I can highly recommend Rogers Jones to those seeking advice about selling at auction. By coincidence I am aware that Rogers Jones provides a valuation service, which I found to be highly efficient.
