I went to Hour Willie for watch battery replacements after reaching the end of the line with Timpson. After reading the positive reviews of the quality of Wiliie’s work I took my Skagen and my wife’s Rado watches to him just before 5pm a few days ago and received a call next morning to say they were ready. To say I was impressed with the results is a huge understatement. They both looked absolutely brand new, having been cleaned inside and out and all scratches and other minor blemishes removed and the cost of the work on both was considerably less than just the price quoted by the Rado watch retailer to return it to Rado to have the battery replaced. In short, I’d highly recommend Hour Willie for excellent, high quality work at a very competitive price.

Had a older chrono Adidas watch which I had worn & used as my regular daily goto watch for many years. Had stopped several years back & had issues with the pushers not making as they should so was put away & forgotten about. Excellent work on 2 items, a long treasured watch belonging to my late mother. Willie replaced long worn springs in the expandable bracelet as well as sprucing it up so it looks lovely and fits beautifully. Also a treasured mantle clock looking like new. Can’t praise his work too highly and great value.

I'm very impressed with the service I got when I took my watch to Willie for battery replacement. Setting up the automatic sync with the radio time signal proved extremely difficult and time consuming but Willie managed this after some research and perseverance. The watch came back looking like new with all of the stainless parts polished. My Seiko watch will be going to him for repair next.

Great service from Willie took 2 watches to him a Tag heuer aquaracer for the battery and pressure test reseal and a CITIZEN ecodrive the glass was broken he replaced the glass and had taken all scratches from both great value for the work he put in.

I cannot praise this firm highly enough. My 1988 Seiko watch, which I have worn ever day for 32 years, fell off a surface. The glass got smashed to smithereens, causing the minute and second hands to come off. I found said hands but the particularly delicate second hand was very bent and twisted. I took it to Hour Willie more in hope rather than expectation, given that the hands looked beyond repair. In just 3 days I got a phone call to say it was all fixed and ready to collect. I was astonished...and the price was so reasonable. The casing and stainless steel strap has also been cleaned up and a new battery put in. I am just SO IMPRESSED beyond words and would recommend Hour Wullie to anyone in the country requiring a specialist repair for a watch, even a relatively old one like mine. It's good as new. Many, many thanks. As well as being a superb time-keeper, the watch has sentimental value and I feel so lucky to have discovered such a brilliant watchmaker..and virtually on my doorstep. Even if you don't live in Dunfermline, it would be well worth a trip there if you have a problem requiring a specialist.

I'm over the moon as Willie replaced the cracked glass on a watch my mum gave me. It's been sitting in a drawer for ages as jewellers were quoting more than the watch is worth. Willie fixed it quickly, replaced the battery, even polished a lot of scratches off the back of it and it looks great. Also replaced the battery on another watch. Cost was extremely reasonable. Took my watch to Chisholm Hunter in Edinburgh Gyle for repair to a broken glass, they said there was a problem with the hands and gave me an estimated cost of £160.00, nearly the price of a new watch. I then took the same watch to "Hour Willie", who explained the problem with the hands were due to the battery not being charged, less than a week later my watch was ready for collection, the cost £25.00. On collection I could not believe it was the same watch, it looked in brand new condition, as good as the day it was bought 15years ago and used every day 24/7. It is without hesitation that I recommend William Smith to provide a first class watch repair service service at very reasonable prices.

Willie carried out a repair and replace of a Garmin running watch strap where the screw had threaded, meaning i was unable to replace the strap myself. Responded promptly to my initial message of contact, arranged for me to drop the watch by that evening, and called me the next morning to confirm the watch had been repaired and strap replaced. Had an old timex watch for over 40 years and it finally stopped working,so googled watch repairs Dunfermline and Hour Willie watchmaker & Jewellery repairs was listed. After contacting Hour Willie and sending photos of my watch, he said to bring it to him,two days later I got a phone call to say watch is ready to be collected. He had replaced the faulty parts,put new winder and replaced battery and strap, also cleaned and polished the watch,all for a very reasonable price. I can highly recommend this watch repairer for all your watch repairs. I had to call Hour Willie again this time about a marble clock that my father had acquired from an embassy during the second world war.It had a busted spring and once again Willie managed to repair and manufacture parts to get it working,a lot of time and effort from him,and a very reasonable price charged for the work.

Both myself and my husband has some scratches on our matching watches and high street jewellers were quoting us ridiculous prices. My husband called Willie yesterday and both our watches are scratch free cleaned and polished and look brand new. I have an expensive Ebel watch that in the past when the battery has needing to be replaced other jewellers have insisted that it needed to be sent off as it was a sealed unit and needed special equipment to change the battery. For this they charged me a fortune and i had no choice but to pay it. When the battery went again I googled watch repairs Dunfermline and found Willie. He asked me to bring the watch in for him to have a look at. It was returned me 2 hours later working and polished up like new, for a third of the price. It's so refreshing to come across a proper tradesman that knows his trade insight and out and isn't out to rip you off. I'd highly recommend Willie as he's a thoroughly nice person to deal with too. One very, very happy customer!!

I recently needed a battery replaced on a Mondaine watch and had struggled to find someone who was able to do it. I had even gone to several places while in London and was turned away as they either didn't have the battery or didn't know how to do it. I phoned William and he knew straight away exactly what battery I needed and invited me to bring it into him. The watch was fixed and working perfectly within 10 minutes. Having had my watch repaired I returned to Willie with a bracelet to see if he could fix it. I'd previously taken it to a jeweller in Edinburgh who told me it was highly unlikely that it could be fixed but he agreed to try soldering it. Unfortunately it broke again within 48 hrs so at that point I gave up hope and it sat in my jewellery box for years . I asked Willie to have a look at it. He was convinced it could be repaired so I left the bracelet with him and he returned it to me, within a few days, fully repaired and it's never been off my wrist since. I've just picked up bracelet number 2! He's a rare find and I would recommend people even travel to use him as he's not only extremely highly skilled he's also unbelievably fair with his fees. Thanks a million Willie!!
