First thing to say is that my Tsavorite and diamond earrings are gorgeous. Secondly, the way the purchase was handled was great. had a lovely experience with the woman who helped me - super friendly and helpful. found what I was looking for quickly and it was a very quick turn around to get the ring resized! HOWEVER - there was a seemingly higher up male employee in the office the day that I was there who appeared to be rude to his female employees which was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. It also made me feel like I wasn't really an important enough customer to behave in front of. Having said that, the woman who helped me was a dream and the only reason this isn't a five star review was because of the rude man in the background. Olly, Jemma, Zuleika & Molly were wonderful to work with and helped us source an engagement ring and two beautiful gold wedding bands. After some internet searching, my partner landed on the Antique Jewellery Company's website. He decided that he wanted to buy me as ethical a ring as possible, hence his decision to purchase something that was pre-loved. He went in for a consultation and met with Olly and Zu who gave him fantastic advice and helped him pick a ring. He decided to purchase a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring which I absolutely loved when he proposed to me with it. The ring was slightly too large, so we went back to have it resized - the ring stayed with ACJ and once it had been resized, we went back to collect it. It took a matter of days and the service was impeccable. We wanted to keep all our rings 'in the family' so we went back to ACJ to purchase our gold wedding bands. Molly was our consultant on this occasion, and presented us with a number of gold bands in various shapes and sizes. We knew pretty early on which were our favourites but Molly took the time and effort to talk us through our options so by the end of our consultation, we were confident with the rings we had chosen (she even triple checked the weight and carat of the rings!) We are really happy with the service we received at ACJ! Not only is the jewellery beautiful, representing great value for money, but the customer service and care has been exceptional. Buying such expensive life-long (hopefully) items can be a stressful experience but Olly, Jemma, Zuleika & Molly were great to work with from start to finish. We could not recommend buying from ACJ any more! We'll certainly be encouraging our friends to shop there.

It was a real pleasure to do business with The Antique Jewellery Compny. I did most of the transaction over the phone with Ollie who could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Because of lockdown, the transaction was going to be done by post and at no point was I being pushed into buying, plenty of reasssurance that if it wasn't right, a refund would be right there. Without hesitation, I bought the third ring! It was absolutely perfect for what I wanted, very beautifuland I regret not one penny of what I paid over the insurers contribution! I am very happy with the piece I bought and with the packaging. I was less happy with the Royal Mail delivery service. The delivery man left a card without bothering to knock on the door so I had to go to the collection point to pick up my package. Once there I was not asked for any identification; presumably if the card had been lost on the street by the delivery man, anyone who found it could have collected the package. At which point I have no idea who would have been liable for the loss. You were very helpful when I called to relate what had happened and you made the very good point that you get on well with your local post office, but the service you receive is not reflected in the service delivered by the organisation as a whole.

I've bought necklaces here a couple of times. Although it's not cheap, the jewellery is lovely (and worth seeing in person as the colours often look a lot different in the photos). But on both occasions my buying experience was a bit mixed. A few weeks after my first visit, the shop contacted me saying my payment hadn't gone through and that I needed to pay them again! After a bit of back-and-forth over several days, with me trying to explain that I had signed receipts from them and that the money had definitely come off my card, they finally realised it was all a mistake in their bookkeeping that they hadn't checked before rushing to accuse me! They said they'd give me a "good discount" on my next purchase. So, a year later, I visited the shop again, and they did remember about the previous time. I chose a couple of items and they offered me a small discount, which I accepted. But then, after writing it all down, they suddenly decided that they needed to make the discount slightly smaller, so they took the receipt out of my hands and adjusted the "amount payable" upwards. I didn't want to have a big argument about it, so I coughed up the revised total, but it seemed needlessly petty and left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

I have to emphasise that this was a genuinely pleasurable buying experience. Obviously, I spent a lot of money but I really enjoyed my hour there. I was not pressed, there was no hard sell, I could have walked away without buying anything. Everything AJC says on their web-site I found to be genuine and true.
