We have just got back from a fabulous day making our wedding rings!! Mark and Sarah welcomed us to the workshop and made us feel at ease. Mark is an excellent teacher with a lot of patience. We turned some unexciting looking bits of gold into some absolutely stunning rings that look as if we'd bought them! Overall, we had such a great day that we didn't want it to end and have special rings with memories to go with them. Thank you Mark and Sarah!

Mark was a wonderful and patient teacher and took us through the traditional approach to making a wedding ring from start to finish: melting and pouring the gold, milling, annealing, shaping, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing. His knowledge and stories made it a fascinating and really fun day. The final rings are beautiful - we can't quite believe we made them entirely ourselves. Fabulous service from Mark and Sarah. Such personal service and a great way to get involved in making your own rings. They were reasonably priced and stayed in contact throughout the process. Sarah was excellent at responding to mails, usually on the same day. I would highly recommend!

From having the patience to help us get our rings just right, to making sure we had everything we needed throughout the day. We chose the Jewellery Cottage because we liked the idea of making our own wedding rings and the fact that my fiancé was able to reuse the metal from his father's wedding ring, was the icing on the cake. Both Mark and Sarah were great from the moment we first contacted them, to the end of the day itself. Our day at the Jewellery Cottage was incredibly special; Mark and Sarah put so much thought into the day to make it truly memorable. My partner and I were recommended The Jewellery Cottage by a friend of a friend and - well - I hope I can be a lot of peoples' friend of a friend with this review. Mark and Sarah have caught lightning in a bottle here. From initial contact to the day itself, our experience of making our own wedding rings was one full of fun and pride. I honestly expected that our rings would be sentimentally special, but also a little amateur, given the fact that neither of us knew our pickles from our crucibles to start with. In fact, we ended up with jewellery that we're astounded we made ourselves.That's nothing to do with us having hidden talents, mind. It speaks to Mark's wonderful combination of patience, expertise, and willingness to let us make - and then fix - any mistakes along the way. It's worth saying that the most impressive part of this whole experience was the fact that we DID do pretty much everything ourselves with Mark's guidance. It wasn't a case of having a crack at the basics and letting the pro take care of the hard parts. It's a fantastic sense of achievement and a genuinely fascinating glimpse into a process that I had little to no insight into beforehand. In a difficult year, our day at the Jewellery Cottage was a real source of joy. If you're thinking about giving it a go, stop thinking - it's a no-brainer. You won't regret it.
