E. B.Gordon was absolutely amazing. Had 3 piercings done by him, my friend had two. He was very friendly, funny and made us feel at ease. He made us calm down and comfortable, he was professional, made sure the piercings were placed safely and not in a place of veins. He offered further help and service if anything happens. Definitely would go to him again!

I've personally been getting pierced by him for 10 years and I've never felt tempted to go anywhere else.
I don't think I would ever be able to find another piercer as confident in their skill within the area.
I've had my tongue, conch, tragus, septum, both nostrils and six lobe piercings all done by him. Each experience was quick and painless.
I've never had an infection, bad placement, scar or any other complication.
Gordon is meticulous about keeping his space and equipment sterile and only uses high-quality metal piercings.
He is happy to answer any questions no matter how silly they are and is always on hand to offer relevant advice.
I have quite a lot of social anxiety and can be somewhat awkward at the best of times but Gordon has a way of calming my nerves.
He is talkative and cracks a lot of jokes.
I don't think I've ever walked away from the shop without an added sense of confidence and assurance.

C. H.Gordon was absolutely amazing. I went to him on two different occasions, first time to get my 16 yo nieces septum pierced and another to get my serum and my other nieces septum done. Gordon doesn’t care who you are, he treats everyone with respect and makes you feel so comfortable. He puts you at ease by joking with you and using distraction techniques. He is so amazing that I live in Manchester and my family lives in Nottingham but I will happily travel down to Nottingham so he can do all of my future piercings.
P. B.First time getting a proper body piercing and I would definitely get more! Not only did I feel comfortable and welcomed, he was a good laugh too. Lovely man who I 100% would trust to do any piercings. Kept me calm and laughing throughout the entire piercing and I didn’t feel a thing! C.Went to Gordon for a nose piercing recently . Was very nervous and had some anxiety about having this piercing done due to previous bad experiences I’ve had with other piercing places with them being hostile & unfriendly alongside having issues with the piercings . Gordon however made me feel at ease with his witty humour whilst still remaining professional and was very attentive and reassuring with regards to getting my nose piercing done which made me feel relaxed and comfortable. A. S.I’ve had several piercings done by Gordon over the last couple of years (belly, nose, thirds and cartilage) he has always been so welcoming and friendly making me feel calm when getting a new piercing even though i usually get quite worked up about the pain beforehand.
He always makes sure I’m happy with the piercing before leaving and talks me thoroughly through the aftercare and Do’s/don’t’s.. today he fixed my third lobe piercing as I had this done at Claire’s a few years ago but it was messed up as they pierced it way too close to my seconds and Gordon advised me to wait for it to heal and to then come back which today he made sure it has healed proper and then re pierced it to properly match the other side. I’ve always had such a positive experience with gordon hence why I’m a returning customer over the years! Would definitely reccomend to anyone.

I went back to Gordon to get them taken out because they were healed by then. He took them out no issue my problem is the fact the hole closed in less than 24.

J. W.I actually decided to get my piercing here because of reviews so I hope this review will also encourage someone to come here albeit late as I went last week. I originally went to get my ears pierced but I really wanted my navel redone as the first time round was not done correctly this the piercing rejected and left a scar. I’ve heard that Gordon would not go forward with the piercing unless he is quite sure it would work. He had a look at it and the odds were pretty high so I got it redone. I was slightly nervous at it had been somewhat painful the first time but it in fact actually hurt less even though it is supposed to hurt more due to the scarred tissue which showed he was skilled at what he did and his personality was just amazing and put me at ease. He also said to contact him if I had any issues or any questions which shows he goes above and beyond what’s necessary. Im giving this very long and detailed review as I highly highly recommend Gordon if you’re considering any piercing and the price was also very fair.

Gordon removed it and showed his integrity by telling me my smiley was too small to get pierced- rather than taking my money and doing the piercing anyway. Got my tongue pierced a few weeks later- again got great advice, and Gordon took the time to make sure my piercing placement was perfect. Tongue has healed well and really quickly . Can’t fault him.

L. J.Update: Since my last visit 3 months ago (see earlier review below) I returned to Gordon for nipple piercings on the 2 months ago. He helped keep me feeling at ease, made sure he pierced them according to my nipples natural shapes so the piercings are in the correct alignment to each nipple. He was very quick and precise, only hurt for 2 seconds during the piercings then no more pain. It may just be down to my body, they are still healing very well and quickly. Earlier review: This review is for Gordon the man who does the piercings at John Rose Jewellers. I have gone to Gordon for all my piercings since I was a kid, I'm now in my 30s this speaks for itself how good Gordon is. He is friendly, very gental and careful in making sure he does a good job and gives the best advice when it comes to all types of piercings. I recently got my eyebrow pierced and felt a bit nervous until Gordon put me at ease answering my concerns. He gives the best customer care and provides a direct contact number to his customers in case they have any enquiries and concerns regarding after care of new piercing and info about piercings. So how could I not give a 5 star rating. I have over the years recommend him to family and friends. After years of using his service I have never been disappointed with his work. If you want a piercing done well and at a fair price I recommend Gordon at John Rose Jewellers. The only downside is the many stairs to the piercing room. Which unfortunately is not accessible for those with a lower limb disability that prevents them from climbing stairs.

After going to other piercers previously I can say I would definitely recommend Gordon over others. He explained everything properly and even though I was in and out very quickly it didn’t feel like a rushed job at all.

He tends to make a lot of jokes and will talk to you to calm you down, as well as making it clear to you that if the piercing wouldn't work (say you have veins in the way) then he will not do it at all) which is also so reassuring as it shows he actually cares about his work and isn't just doing it for money. Also shows you everything in sealed packaging so you know its sterile and will run you through what will happen, as well as constantly checking up on you. I've never had a negative experience here and I've been coming here for piercings since 2017.

H. m. x.Gordon’s piercings are amazing , I have 3 lobe piercings and 1 upper cartilage piercing and I had my first one done at Claire’s however they messed it up so I went to Gordon and got it re done and it was so much better the after care was explained more and he was way more experienced I then got my second ear lobe done at a different jewellers as I got it done on the day and they messed it up as well it was very uneven so then I got my upper cartilage done with Gordon and once again he was amazing and then I went back to Gordon the other day to get my third lobe piercing and again he was fantastic he made funny jokes and helped me relax he made me feel comfortable and was just so amazing. At the minute I’m thinking about getting my belly button done and if I did I would definitely go back to Gordon . I have some family members who have gone to other places like blue banana and it got infected and aftercare wasn’t explained well.

P.Only ever had piercings here, Gordon makes you feel so much less anxious and it’s incredibly clean- I checked the needle and piercing in the sterile packets. Helix piercing went without a hitch and Gordon took time to go through the aftercare and procedure. Good price too- Claire’s wanted £27 for the same service compared to the £20 here.

A. G.I came here to initially get an industrial piercing. However, Gordon immediately told me that industrial piercing is not for everyone, as some people's ears may have more veins than others. He checked mine and unfortunately, the piercing would hit a lot of veins if I went through with it so he didn't advise it. Had I gotten it at a different store, they wouldn't have been as concerned and would've probably done it anyway. I got a helix piercing instead and it's been 2 days and it hasn't hurt one bit and the process was so quick and painless! I really recommend coming here!

This is the fourth time I’ve done it even tho I know it pains me when getting it done. The past few times I’ve done was at this other place in Nottingham and they were so harsh and weren’t very nice. They were pretty scary co spidering the fact that I’m already scared a needle is about to go through my skin. Then I found Gordon, he was honestly sooo nice and told me to relax and in no time I was done with my piercing. G. A.Came to get my daughters belly button pierced today, I chose to come to Roses because it's where I had mine done 18 years ago. To my surprise it was the same man who did mine. Very clean, friendly and professional service with lots of advice and support. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get a piercing to come here.
M. G.My expierance here was amazing, the wait was about 10-15 mins. As I’m scared of needles I was a bit worked up but Gordon helped calm me down and my piercing (belly button) is very good, it’s straight and was a good price. I recommend this shop so much.
T. I.First time piercing except my childhood waring piercing. Really good experience, I have low pain tolerance but the pain level was fine. Aftercare instructions was clear. After the piercing there was throbbing pain on the ear but now (1 week later) its normal and I can barely feel it until something (hair - I have bulky braids - or people) come into contact with it. I have slept on my side since day one but used my hands to lift the ear from touching the bed. Overall amazing first experience.
H. T.So... I wanted to wait at least 24 hours before writing this review so as to give the piercing a bit of time to settle in and see how it went after 1 night of potentially sleeping on it. I had my Tragus pierced.
I can honestly say this guy Gordon is by far the best person to go to for a piercing! I got there and he was instantly professional but also casual, he very cleverly engaged me in conversation so my mind wouldn't be fixated on what was about to happen, I told him this was my first piercing of cartilage but that I'd had piercings in the past done with a needle that went horribly wrong so I was understandably nervous. He reassured me and talked me through the whole process right down to the different grades of metal that are used. So anyway fast forward to the piercing (tragus) I was scared! I thought i would hear it crunch as it was right in my ear or that it would bleed alot (too many YouTube videos) but it was nothing of the sort, it was a nice clean piercing, honestly i keep forgetting I've even had it done! There is no pain whatsoever today also the initial piercing didnt hurt at all either, theres an ever so slight ache for an hour or so after but that's all. I went for a bar as Gordon explained to me that having a hoop can very rarely cause things called Keyloids which is like little nodules that can build up around the hoop. Now 24 hours later I would say it is slightly swollen but not in any bad sort of way, and honestly its completely painless. There was not a single drop of blood and no noise at all not a peep! He was brilliant and i will 100% be going back to him for my helix piercing. If I could rate him 10 stars I would. If you want a piercing this is definitely the place to go! Thanks Gordon :)

I can honstly say he's a top bloke. From the min you get in the room he makes you feel very comfortable.
