Reviews of Dragonflies
L. C.
Too many bad reviews lately for a great place to visit with the kids.
I was here quite early on a Saturday morning for a party and fail to see how tables are "squashed" together. There's plenty of room between each table, but I would advise not to bring prams inside as that will make it squashed.
There's plenty for the kids to do and it's all spaced and levelled out perfectly.
There's a football/basket ball area above a party room with a medium sized trampoline above the kitchen. There's a 3 tiered play area for the kids to play in with multiple slides and peep holes to keep an eye on them with. Against the back wall there's a small (5ft) climbing area.
Even the toddler area is on 2 tiers so they can enjoy all sorts of activities too.
The food is decently priced and the kids lunchboxes are great value for money.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and there's just a general nice aesthetic feel to the place.

We have been coming to dragon flies for years and everytime we feel so welcomed by the staff!
The play area's are perfect and it's immaculately clean. The coffee is amazing ( and a huge mug!) and you get healthy options for food which is well priced and the kids just love the soft play!
To note it's great to go as a parent or grandparent on your own or as a few friends, the staff are so accommodating and will make you welcome and help with any baby needs.
I come with my two and my nephew's for safe play times! Will definitely be back!!

I attend Dragonflies each week with my little boy of 5 months old and we both absolutely our days out at Dragonflies! After our baby classes, we stay and have a coffee and cake and as a new mum, I’ve loved that opportunity to meet other mums and share experiences. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the venue has such a lovely feel. Dragonflies caters for all ages from babies to older children and it’s lovely to see the older children running around with smiles on their faces. It is definitely a happy place focused on child initiated learning and lots and lots of fun 🤩

Brilliant
My son had his 5th birthday party at dragonflies and it was the most stress free party!
There was no hassle.
The girls did everything.
The place is very clean and the food is amazing!
Would highly recommend.
Thank-you
J. S.
Absolutely fantastic, plenty of activities to suit, staff are very friendly, spotlessly clean my great granddaughter loves it its given her loads of confidence, highly recommended
D. R.
The unit is quite small and felt quite crowded on our visit. Our table was against the wall of the sensory room and as such we couldn't see the children for most of the time, unless they were on the few pieces of equipment on the other side of the room.
The equipment was in very good condition and there was a lot of variety for babies and up to pre-schoolers, maybe reception and year 1 age.
Prices for drinks and snacks were as I'd expected and were very nice. There was plenty of hand sanitiser and social distancing measures were in place, including wiping surfaces after our session ended.
The children all had a great time there, which is the main thing, so I would have no hesitation in going back.
K. H.
Fantastic soft play with very friendly staff and excellent coffee!
M. A.
Excellent for socialising all ages of kids! Our 18month old loved it! Great food and drinks on offer for parents and adults while they wait too! Fantastic will definitely be back!
D. M.
Absolutely fantastic soft-play for younger kids. Reasonable prices, really friendly staff and a great range of snacks and drinks. The staff keep the place ultra clean and tidy. Superb place to take little ones - my two year old loves it! Located on Belmont Business Park, not far from Broomside Park (Table Table). Plenty free parking.
J. R.
This is a smaller soft play compared to some of the larger competitors. That's actually one of the things I like about it as it's more relaxed and quieter. The seating is arranged with the door behind you and the play area in front so it feels very secure and safe. It is a safety door which can only be opened by the staff. The furniture is nice and modern and there is a good range of things to play with for younger aged children and toddlers. They make an effort to install new things every now and agsin.
M. H.
I had my little boy's 4th birthday party there today. The kids all had a great time. Nothing was any trouble and the staff are lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend 👍
C. S.
Great place, good food, safe environment for the kids, just the right size play area and aimed at the younger kids. Friendly staff. Highly recommend
S.
Excellent play facility. Very safe. Very good food. Very nice parents. To be improved: cafe service very slow. 4 people behind counter only one serving. Lots of crockery etc not cleared from tables.
s. s.
Very good place for kids to enjoy. Could have been great if bit more spacious.
J. B.
Great place for kids of all ages. Good choice of kids food and gluten free food options. Seating near play area which is great.
D. C.
The staff here are first class, attentative, friendly and in control of the place at all times. Too many soft plays are overcrowded, rowdy and generally unhygienic. Dragonflies is a breath of fresh air, where you can actually enjoy some quality time with your kids.
The play facilities are designed to accomodate from birth up to 8 years old but I'd say kids older than 6 or 7 might find this a little limited.
The food and drinks on offer are excellent and really cheap for this kind of place. The kids can get a lunch box meal and drink for £3.50 which is always a winner with my two little ones. There's also healthy alternatives for adults and kids which means not every option on the menu has to come with chips etc.
I generally don't like soft plays due to the lack of parenting and poor management however Dragonflies definitely gets my vote and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere new to try, especially if you've got younger kids.
l. b.
nice play area for kids up 2 4yrs id say. friendly staff. food quiet expensive
J. W.
Good place for kids friendly staff my daughter is 5 and was bored quickly so would say for more younger children.
R. B.
Lovely place very clean and tidy. Tables can feel a little cramped when it's really busy. Food to good and reasonably priced staff very friendly
K. P.
This is a great little place. We visited with our son 3 and he was over the moon with the soft play area. They also serve great coffee and food of which we had both at a very reasonable price. It does get busy at times but we got lucky first thing and there was only a few families inn.
J. G.
We love it here with our Granddaughter. It's a lovely size so you can keep a close eye on them. The food is amazing too
K. S.
A place we regularly visit with our 2 year old. Great variety of things to do and ideal for younger children. Always very clean and well kept. Lovely coffee and food as well as free WiFi. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Don't know what we'd do without this place!
J. T.
Great place to take young ones for a couple of hours. Good food, nice coffee and lovely staff
s. k.
Fab place my 9month old grandson loved it we will defiantly be going again plenty free parking food is lovely and the staff very friendly
T. E.
Lovely little place my neice really enjoyed it... A bit of a walk if going by bus but manageable.
m. f.
It was good for small children under 6 rather than older, it's small but the children had lots of fun. There's tea and coffee and lots of bit size food on sale and it nice and clean with lots of parking.
S. P.
Excellent play centre for most ages.Coffee and food yummy.Staff are all so friendly they make you feel very comfortable.Defo recommend.
C. B.
Great place for little ones to go off and explore leaving the grown ups to have a brew whilst keeping a watchful eye from afar. It was busy but got parked outside and got a table inside. The cost of the food and drink isn't extortionate, and entry price of £4 for one child is OK. The kids love it.
L. M.
Brilliant place to take the kids. We had an unexpected break in durham so needed a place for the kids. The staff were so lovely and kind. Kids had an amazing time!
J. C.
My little girl loves it... staff are lovely... food is nice & reasonably priced
M. T.
This place is a nice size with a lovely cafe and good variety for the children to play on.
D. R.
First time visiting with my two grandsons. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves I. The clean and safe environment. Will definitely be going back.
A. F.
Great place to take the kids for a bit a soft play and a coffee with snacks
S. R.
Really nice soft play, my son loves it. Have decent food and free WiFi too
A. H.
Great play area to let the little one blow off some steam. We go at least once a week.
D. W.
Full of excited children and exhausted parents and grandparents. Lots for the children to do and tire themselves out with. Nice cafe with cakes and coffee. Perfect, in every way, for small children. (And very reasonably priced).
g. w.
Kids love it here. Always clean. Lovely staff. Feel kids are safe here and able to control more kids alone
K. “. s.
It was a really nice and clean soft play. I'd give it 5 stars based on our trip, but, it is small and I imagine at peak visiting times its too crowded.
D. T.
Lovely clean venue with lots to entertain the children. Only fault I could see was they didn't have a locking gate to keep the children in and the main door was left open which leads straight into the car park.
D. K.
Always a great place to take my 4 year old girl. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and it's had an upgrade with more areas. Brill place and will continue to go back until she's too old.
R. J.
Lovely little play area for smaller children and nice little cafe too
J. M.
Good for little ones as no one over 8s allowed. Not recommended for under 2s though. There just isn't enough for babies and those just learning to walk. Plus, they have a strange under 10 months/over 10 months pricing policy. My 2 year old and 4 year old love it though.
I. S.
It was great. Great time, my granddaughter had fab time. Coffee was nice, staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely going back .
P. B.
Totally amazing venue for kids, tons to do and the staff are amazing! Plus possibly had the best bacon sandwich ever! Very impressed.
E. W.
Fantastic place with a great range of play settings and events organised. Lovely cafe with a delicious selection of treats for the children and adults.
I. (.
Good venue, especially for the younger kids. Food is mostly great and well priced though watch out for stuff like microwaved crumpets :)
The little shop and kitchen area is a great idea well thought out and realised.
N. L.
Amazing space where children can go off and play without fear of you losing them. Play equipment fantastic from the climbing wall, role and soft play areas. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The cafe has a wide range for both adults and children, with prices comparable to many places. Highly recommended for a stress free time.
m. c.
Excellent setup for our sons 3rd birthday party staff were warm and friendly they couldn't do enough.
E. D.
Friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Reasonably priced and great range of food and drinks.
M. H.
Excellent value, friendly staff and more than enough to keep the little ones entertained.
Free WiFi to keep the dad's happy too!
J. S.
Amazing new soft play centre. Our 3yr old granddaughter loves it. Staff are great. Food lovely.
R. S.
A little busy for the age of children that were there, felt crowded and staff a little stressed. Nice and clean.
S. J. P. P.
Great place for little ones, not too big so not overehelming for younger kids xx
E. B.
My grandsons and i loved it,my daughter in law brought us over and we all had a good time.x
S.
Great little place for my 2yrs old to run around. The location is aimed towards toddlers so you don't have the concern and stress of larger children charging around. They sell hot and cold food and drinks. Not wishing to sound too snobby but the people that go here are all nice, no mothers shouting, screaming and swearing at their kids! Very friendly staff who never seem to stop and are continuously cleaning and tidying up. The only downside is the location is quite small so you can struggle to get a seat at busy times.
D. G.
Had lovely tea and cakes while the grandkids played They loved it and we were close enough to keep a good eye on them
B. H.
I have been taking our 2 year of granddaughter and she loves it. It's great exercise for her and it keeps her away from the TV and tablet. I would recommend it but you have to see if it suits your child.
P. R.
Very good value. Excellent place for the kids
S. W.
Brilliant for under fives with nice cafe for the grown ups. Soft play and small climbing wall
R. S.
Great soft play, my only concern is that the site is not kept up to date, therefore you could turn up and find out that a party is booked. While the site currently only mentions dates in July
B. L.
Perfect size for my little one to run around without having to watch him too closely. Lovely food and staff are always helpful.
J. H.
Great place to visit. Free parking. Gluten free chocolate cake that was very tasty. Lovely staff. Children were very happy. Would recommend.
S. R.
Love this place so much! One of my favourites to wake my son. Highly recommend!
S. E.
Lovely soft play and good food decent price
M.
Toddler's love it, good facilities and decent cafe,
L. C. (.
Fantastic place for children the soft play is just big enough to be fun for little one but not so big you easily lose your little one. Range of toys and books for children to use and a reasonably price cafe for refreshments.
A. F.
Perfect place for a birthday party, the staff are really friendly, the food is great and everything is very clean and well maintained.
d. c.
Lovely friendly staff, great place for kid’s to let off steam on a rainy day. Godsend
J. M.
We love going to Baby Sensory and massage classes. And we can't wait till our little one is older so we can play in the play centre! Cafe is great, staff are friendly.
S. F.
Great foe toddlers as no over 8s allowed in
N. F.
Fab place for little ones and reasonably priced
C. B.
Lovely little playbarn with soft play, baby areas and role play equipment. Excellent cafe,
Structured baby activities in separate room timetabled

We visited Dragonflies this afternoon with our childminding children, and oh what fun they had! There was lots to entertain the children for the full 90 minutes, we even had tears when it was time to go home and they were asking when we could come back again ...... It was clean, the service was great, with friendly staff that were happy to help. We will be again soon, very soon!
Thank you!
G. H.
Great place for a private party, my daughter loved it!
C. L.
Really good place for spending time with little ones, in a safe, clean & welcoming environment.
Toys, soft play and climbing apparatuses & suitable for babies, toddlers and young kids. A nice cafe, clean facilities & ample seating for the grown-ups.
The staff were friendly and accomodating.
I would definately recommend.
To offer some constructive criticism, its not the easiest to find, set in one of the industrial units (I had to ring for directions). An accurate sign or two would be useful for visitors. Also, the actual building signage (name) isnt very clear and hard to make out.
Inside the unit, I found the music a little too loud, and distracting.
But everything else, was spot on ☺️
S. C.
Brilliant play arena; great for creative as well as boisterous fun in a safe environment.
T. J.
Went with my 2 girls and they loved it. They are 1 and 7. My 1 year old also has multiple allergies so i was so haopy when i found i could actually get her a real meal here instead of her eating from a processed pouch or just chips or crisps or other rubbish until we get home. Around 30 min drive for us and we will be coming back without a doubt!
K. W.
We take the grand bairn every Wednesday now. Great little play area and nice food on offer.
D. M.
Amazing place for your toddlers to play worry free without the fear of bigger kids knocking into them. Fantastic for their little minds to get creative in their mock shop & house. Softplay equipment is perfect size for preschool kids. Cafe is excellent with best bacon butties ever & cakes to die for. High level of hygiene in cafe & toilets. The area the kids play in is spotless. Attracts fantastic people with fantastic attitudes to all the children playing there. Great place to just kick back relax & let your little one have the time of their life running wild. Would 100% recommend.
d. h.
First visit today and very impressed with everything about Dragonflies. Friendly staff, good latte 👍 my grandson loved it ❤️
L. K.
Good selection of children food and service
N. W.
Kids really enjoyed it, will definitely be back more often
C. W.
It's good, small but tall! Quite expensive and obviously very busy on a Saturday but it's good :)
D. B.
Good eating area although tables were a bit cramped together. Soft play area excellent for small children aged 3 to 5.
However I was rather concerned that fire exits were not clearly marked, especially the rear exit which was not visible from the main area at all, as it was behind part of the framework of the play area.
Neither was there any signage for fire alarm push buttons or placement of extinguishers.
N. B.
Small but lovely soft play. For smaller kids
C. W.
Good activity for younger children. The cafe provides decent, but not artisan, coffee and cake for the grown ups, and there's free WiFi.
The play centre itself is on the smaller side, as you might expect for somewhere focussing on the younger children, which means you can almost always keep an eye on your kids. However, there's enough to keep the kids occupied for hours. We took 4 kids, aged between 2 and 8 for about 3 hours, and still had trouble prying them away.
P. A.
Quite a compact play place, but pretty good
J.
Very Good. Excellent facilities and service. Made to feel very welcome
C. f.
Jacob was confident to go off and play straight away. His second visit. Friendly atmosphere, baby area downstairs and older area above. He loved the trampoline. Will definitely go again.
A. N.
Excellent, our 3 year old loved it.
J. M.
Best soft play around coliur the younger ones
A. H.
My children love Dragonflies and are always excited to go here and there's a great selection of food and drinks. The Dragonflies staff are friendly and caring, greeting my son by his name when we come in.
B. S.
Noisy for grandad's but little ones loved it
d. h.
The Dragonflies are a well organised children's play area. They cater not only for the children who really enjoy the facilities that are provided for their fun and provide them with food and sweets at a cost. Parents and friends are also catered for with the provision of a seating area but also food and drinks.
E. C.
Family friendly fun and games with coffee and cake available!
J. R.
Clean and tidy but seating area can be a bit cramped
S. S.
Lovely safe soft play area
