Today I had the pleasure to meet Leigh (who works with Louise) who was so professional, adorable and chatty.
Due to the fact that I work in the same premises and I see people coming in so often to get this service I thought I would have given it a try, getting a Full check up which obviously wasn't cheap but it was worth it.
Lovely venue, nice atmosphere and like I said Leigh was so helpful and she offered to get my sample personally to the Post office and sending it to the lab.
Overall, great experience. Highly recommend.

My wife and myself had blood taken by Louise a few months back, she came to our house, which was great as it saved us having to do a 160 mile round trip.
Louise arrived on time and was calming and reassuring, great for me as I’m notoriously difficult to get blood from, but not for Louise, first go she got blood and not a mark left on my arm.
Overall it was a great experience, Louise was polite, punctual and very good at what she does and we’ll definitely be using her service again in the future.

Louise went out of her way to help which is greatly appreciated. Dealt with me kindly and patiently even though I was quite demanding due to the situation. Thank you so much.

I have Hemochromatosis (Iron Overload, Celtic Curse) due to a genetic flaw 1 in 8 "carry" (one copy of the gene) so probably 1 in 200-300 have "both copies" from Celtic/Germanic parents, and have Hemochromatosis. So it's far from rare, but severely under diagnosed. It means my body cannot on it's own remove excess Iron from food it just keeps storing it. Iron in one of two forms is in most food, and sadly for us it is added to fortified foods.
Louise has been helping me with the process of de-ironing (by Phlebotomy). That's not a joke, it is really how it is treated. There is no pills or injections. A pint of blood carries as much Iron as 70-80 steaks. We keep measuring Iron and doing Phlebotomy as needed to keep Iron levels in a normal range. In effect doing what genetically, in this regard, normal people do alone.
Iron in the body is "extremely" toxic at high levels and Hemochromatosis "untreated" is generally fatal. So Louise is literally keeping me alive.
I have donated blood and had blood removed in clinic (so I know how it's done). Louise takes more time than the NHS and thus it goes smoother. She comes to my house, always has the right medical equipment and does not mind chatting. She is very knowledgeable of her job. It takes about 5-10 mins in which time she carefully monitors my blood removal and checks I'm okay (I always am but she carefully watches me to cease the draw if she sees anything wrong). Phlebotomy looks simple but its not, there is a great responsibility to keep the patient safe. She has not bruised me once, she is careful, prepares properly and ceases the draw gently. I find her technique painless. It's not the same as a rushed donation centre or clinic; home Phlebotomy is much less stressful.
