Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Brighton
A. J.
Lovely afternoon teas. Despite having to make last minute changes to our order and adding an extra person on day the staff were so helpful and obliging. This is the second time we've had teas there and would highly recommend them. Lovely presentation and boxes provided to take home what you couldn't manage to eat.
Helpful friendly staff
.
S. C. G.
Lovely selection of plants and pots. There is always something new and interesting at every visit!
S. T.
Very pleasant experience looking at all sorts of gardening items; pots, huge variety of healthy plants, wellies, gloves anything and everything.
Had a coffee which was spot on for flavour.
Staff helpful (was with a friend and their puppy who unfortunately peed in the shop) and kind.
Been before and will go again.
J. A.
Lovely to walk around not too busy. Managed to get nice coffee this time and sit comfortably last time it was so busy there was no room, it looked like they've decorated looked great and of course good selection of plants. The new Sainsbury food section was a hit to as we didn't have to stop off on the way home.
C. A.
Truly wonderful food and service - Went in for a quick coffee and a girl behind the counter, called Lois I believe? Made a beautiful Latte and recommended the ham and cheese baguette for a quick bite to eat, it was so delicious! Good work to you all and Lois!
J. S.
Some great plants. Super gifts and garden items. A small sainsbury's and also the 'cook' meals. Had a delicious lunch at the cafe and all of the staff , without exception, were friendly and courteous. I don't live near but I'll be returning.
A. D.
Got many plants from here, however these are my most recent.
It’s always such a nice experience going there, staff is friendly and helpful too.
c. H.
Great indoor plants and a wide range of outdoor plants and planters. Excellent range of indoor plants, plus a fruit abd veg shop at the entrance (and a sainsbury store inside)
H. S.
Stopped here for tea and cake, only one vegan scone left so we shared that. The tea was nice unfortunately we were served cows milk after asking for soya so had to remind the young lady just thankful I had noticed!
J. F.
It is a garden centre! Nice layout, but like so many of these places if you wanted to buy anything furniture wise for the garden ), you best go to the bank for a mortgage. Food was OK and staff polite but nothing amazing tbh.
L. B.
Just had a lovely lunch in the resterant ! it was quite busy but didn't have to wait long .Food was good ,had a toasties with salad and chips (xtra £1) plenty of filling nice bread and hot .Staff always helpful and friendly. Best thing we could take our dog into the new dog friendly eating area so that will be a bonus in the colder weather ! managed to pick up some bargain plants on the way out ,very enjoyable day .Thanks dobbies
P. L.
Stopped by for lunch. Good service, great value food. Ideal for an impromptu stop. Great as a garden centre too!
L. I.
Light vegan brekkie available in the cafe and you can add items as you want. Plant based milks for tea and coffee. Dog friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Offers too with a Dbbies card. Good selection of shops here including a pet shop and mini Sainsburys as well as the garden centre.
S. S.
Neatly presented center with good selection of plants. The restaurant is a nice place to have something specially outside in summer however, it's a bit pricey. Overall the prices of items are higher than the previous franchise but neater than them. The items which are on offer or discount can be good bargain.
M. A. (.
Good display of flowers, trees and gardening equipment. Very good restaurant and menu.
Overall a nice place to be.
R. H.
Large and very well kept garden centre. Plants look healthy and cared for. Excellent cafe with terrace.
S. D.
This is one of the best garden centres i’ve ever been to! Amazing indoor plant section (a bit expensive but not a surprise in a garden centre) and a even bigger variety of outdoor plants. there is a Sainsbury’s there as-well which was a nice surprise and the cafe was lovely and had good covid restrictions that worked smoothly. Very nice place to visit!
C. W.
very helpful staff. huge range of products at fair prices. often with deals on. sometimes stock runs out however. but worth a walk up the hill to even if it’s just for a coffee at their cafe. also nice that it is dog friendly as seen in my uploaded photo!
D. C.
Very good with an excellent selection of plants, all high quality and well looked after and reasonable prices. Lots of other things to look at with Pets, homeward and even a Sainsburys!
S. (. S.
Very nice place with friendly staff. Family friendly. Lots of lovely plants. Quite expensive. Nice cafe with friendly staff. Very expensive. Very small pots of tea.
m. h.
Very classy garden centre , well run with friendly staff. Has a small Sainsbury's inside plus a tea room for meals .
c.
Another nice lunch and a mooch around. The cafe was very busy, but it's fast service, very clean and good sized portions.
R. C.
Loved the Centre but very disappointed in the quality of the breakfasts. On 3 occasions recently they were poorly cooked, and also, disappointed in the reduction of vegetarian options.
C. N.
Plenty on show for the garden plus indoor plants and pots etc. Cafe disappointing. Serving staff friendly, but tables left unclean and food on the floor.
S. G.
Great plants and plenty of other stuff too, inc Sainsburys Local. Lovely Lemon Tart.
J. B. (.
Fabulous garden centre. You can get everything here. Great cafe too.
R. A.
Theres been a few changes since the change over, some for the good, some for the worse, it seems that the price's have gone up in some cases and there's also a lot of items that are not even priced, that's not very helpful, time will tell with this "new" garden centre.
A. S.
Great garden centre. A little bit overpriced, but lots on offer including a cafe, pet store and a Sainsbury's Local. Plant selection is plentiful and also seasonal.
S. N.
Nothing much to say about the actual place but there was a super friendly young chap working there that helped me find what I was after. He was really very accommodating. Thanks chap!
O. D.
Went in for plant mist so I can take care of my babies, found it immediately. We then mooched until we found Guinea pigs which made my pal very happy indeed. Very accommodating little beans. Beautiful array of plant pots which I am coming to hunt down on payday. Cashier was very nice and his smile suggested I had made a good decision with 'House Plant Myst'. 9/10, would wander aimlessly round garden centre again.
M. M.
Great horticultural section , enormous selection of plants and shrubs. Lovely location overlooking Brighton, great cafe, pet store and a Sainsbury's mini food hall !
T. S.
It was a shame really. We had travelled to Dobbies Brighton for a nice coffee on a crisp, bright morning but we were told there were no seats left inside and also no oat milk and as I am allergic to dairy, soya and lactose, we decided to come home.
N. Q.
Pleasantly surprised by the variation of plants on offer. I was able to get some plants I'd been after for a few years without success when it was Wyvales. And everything seemed in good condition and well cared for. Staff were very helpful. Ample parking and spectacular views are a bonus!
T. M.
I had a lovely orange latte with cherry scone ,both lip smacking gorgeous 😍, service was good happy ,efficient, lovely experience..
P. P.
Did not have what we wanted, but good selection of products
J. A.
Very good for gardening equipment flowers help also lovely restaurant and pet centre brilliant!!!
G. M.
Excellent service from the lads at Dobbies today when I asked for something I could see on the website but couldn’t find in the store. They went into storage and dug one out for me which saved the day. Thank you!
K. M.
Great garden centre lovely selection of indoor & outdoor plants. Good healthy plants. Excellent quality. Plus lovely furniture & cooking section, books, pet stuff & a mini Sainsburys food shop what's not to love?? Cafe is fab when open. Pleasant friendly helpful knowledgable staff. Could use the addition of an all/cards cashpoint/hole-in-the-wall, otherwise cant praise it enough :)
J. S.
I popped in for a bag of soil and decided to grab a delicious breakfast.
Then I shopped for soil and decided to go for a delicious coffee and cake.
Then I decided to shop for soil, but got distracted by the Christmas decorations. Then I decided to stay for a delicious lunch.
After lunch I decided to shop for soil but got distracted by the lovely plants outside.
After a while I got hungry to decided to have a delicious tea and cake.
Then I decided to shop, but forgot what I came in for so drove home.
Will go again tomorrow.
T. N.
Lovely garden centre, very big car park. Absolutely everything you could need for your garden wants and needs. Lovely and helpful staff to help and answer any queries. Very open space indoors and a large outdoor area full of pots, plants and trees.... AND MORE. Lovely to browse, buy and enjoy!
K. K.
Lots of plant bargains today (24/10/21). Good to be able to go to a garden centre and shop at Sainsbury's at the same time. Lovely staff on duty.
C. T.
Dobbies is an enjoyable shopping experience, no question. Plants and other sales items are all top quality. However, everything is also top dollar...the cafe is excellent and the inclusion of a mini Sainsbury's is very convenient. The pet centre is very good, but again expensive when compared to other outlets. Parking and access is a breeze, probably it's best selling point.
N. Q.

Lovely place lovely plants xx

C. C.
Nice location. Mostly empty this time. Of course
T. C. (.
Always get our Christmas tree here and some decorations, nice garden centre and with a nice cafe
C. S.
Had a great Christmas lunch today, severed by Maxine and the wonderful staff.
K. K.
Lots of plant bargains today (24/10/21). Good to be able to go to a garden centre and shop at Sainsbury's at the same time. Lovely staff on duty.
H. D.
Lovely garden centre. Has everything including pets section, Sainsbury's and wide range of plants. Cafe is lovely but service is slow
R. A.

A. B.
I'm surprised how they lack certain plant products which I'd expect to be stocked in garden centres
H. D.
Lovely garden centre. Has everything including pets section, Sainsbury's and wide range of plants. Cafe is lovely but service is slow
k. b.
Cafe is getting very pricey for very average food not the best value locally by far
S. J.
Free parking. Wheelchair accessible. Great cakes in the cafe. Lots of seating outside. Fab petshop and really good groomers.
J. S.
The queue system is a bit dodgy and sometimes I have caught myself in little arguments with pensioners about whether I'm in the queue or not. The new Sainsbury's addition has definitely helped the appeal, as generally gardening tools and resources tend to be overpriced. The staff are friendly enough and the problem really only lies with the layout, which in some ways can't be helped. The toilets on-site are always well maintained too.
D. S.
Great choice of plants and helpful staff
S. B.
Got some great reduced Costa coffee set bargains.
K. L.
Found the shop to be over crowded with narrow pathways inbetween the many fixtures and fittings making it very hard to socially distance. Wide range of products available but not enough staff to assist customers. Plant area well stocked and full of colour.
M. R.
Now has more frozen food options as well as Gardening supplies. Not everything in the food range is reasonably priced although probably subject to change due to demand. Garden supplies remain good. Restaurant still closed due to COVID-19. Hand sanitizer and wipes for the trolleys available at the entrance.
L. B.
We popped into this garden centre for lunch and a bit of Sainsbury shopping. Unfortunately the internet had gone down. So there was a 45 minutes wait in the queue to pay the old fashion way to get out of the shop . Which the staff told you about when you arrived. It was very well organised, and customer's were willing to wait. The cafe had cash only, again customer's were willing to wait. Over all well done to the staff and management we had a lovely few hours out with you. Thank you.
R. L.
Grand experience, staff was helpful in pointing me the right way..
The only "bad" moment occurred when trying to check the price of those cute lil bamboo things.. I mean, they put the price on the bottom of the pot.. so naturally when you go to check the price, you'll pour water on yourself.. 🤷🏼♂️
(Note it's been hot recently so I consider the bamboo water incident a plus)
S. M.
Great garden centre since Dobbies took over. Love the Sainsbury’s too feel comfortable during these difficult times. The only negative is not having a florist anymore was easy to get flowers and go to cemetery. Otherwise love visiting
A. O.
Good place to tip, friendly fork lift driver 👍
D. B.
Cafe good, garden centre, pets and local sainsbury
J. W.
Love this place. Brilliant place to let the kids run around in a safe environment. The aquarium and pet shop are lovely. The place is full of really helpful and friendly staff. The cafe is great, lovely coffee and very kid friendly. The glass bottles are a little low on the shelf and are a bit tempting for little hands! But otherwise a great place all round.
W. M.
Plenty of good parking, wheel chairs for those less able, friendly staff and dog friendly. The selection of plants is very good, lots of choice, a very good place to go to for plants and even just visit.
T. C. (.
Always get our Christmas tree here and some decorations, nice garden centre and with a nice cafe
J. E.
Really good selection of bulbs and good offers on many plants, especially if you factor in the Dobbies loyalty card.
A. A.
Really nice place and friendly people, however like most garden centres the prices for plants are well over the top, i bought 2 small lavender pots for 20 quid.... they are lovely though 🙂
P. W.
Went in for lunch, service was slow and shambolic. Toastie was good but the chips were cold and dried out, the coleslaw was absolutely aweful, cheap and nasty.
N. D. D.
I like!
L. M.
A little over-priced and a bit over-balanced towards decorations inside, but a good selection of happy plants and gardening accoutrements, and plenty of staff to ask questions to.
R. B.
Stock was ok, but was disappointed by checkout service, because cashier wasn't paying attention, was talking to a colleague and scanned one item 3 times. If I hadn't heard the bleeps and checked my receipt, I would have paid £10 more than I should.
A. S.
Very helpful staff at the nursery. Full of information. It was originally part of the Wyevale Garden Centre group, but changed hands in December last year.
The restaurant/coffee shop is pretty good and the prices are reasonable most of the time. Take up their reward card and you get a couple of free coffees each month + discount on good purchased in the centre.
L. W.
Great garden centre lovely reasteront
T. M.
Great for a Christmas visit. We met up at the nice cafe and enjoyed a lovely coffee and tasty sausage roll. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The garden centre itself is nicely laid out with a particularly nice fish department and of course it's always great to look in the pet shop where there's always a dog to say hello to. And we know you just have to say hello to good doggies.
s.
Very late getting a Christmas tree this year but they still had a few nice ones left. Very happy with the one we got. Lots of other nice Christmas goods as well and Sainsbury's onsite too.
D. R.
Went for breakfast, really good meal, great 2 for 1 offer too. Dog groomed at salon while we were there, they did a great job though not cheap £53 for a wash and trim, nails and teeth clean for a small dog (10kg) seems a lot
J. L.
Big improvements to this garden centre. Not much to choose from in the plants yet. Good options for gifts and also has a Sainsburys Local in store which is great.
L. T.
Spacious, calm, scented, a huge selection of plants. But how to get them home on the bus - Deliveroo sadly not deployed!
H. I.
So happy they are back after lockdown with a great selection of healthy vegetable seedlings. They had a good social distancing system in place and a friendly helpful greeter who was doing a great job on the door. You all do a great job so thank you.
J. T.
A large range of plants and garden products including a few child-size hand tools and pet accessories. Nice cafe with outdoor and indoor seating. The fish tanks have gone and there's a Sainsbury's in its place.
N. G.
Extra special customer service today..... Bought a nice plant as a present and they gift wrapped it for a small charge and it looked fantastic! All their plant ranges are well stocked and healthy but think their plant prices have jumped significantly compared to last year! Ouch!
E. C.
Expensive but nice when in season, wide range of plants. Happy to come and always find what I want. Just lovely!
J. R.
Long queues in the cafe/ poorly set out & quite expensive.Despite staff trying hard service was very slow.
On the plus side the shop itself has fabulous range of plants & gifts & there is plenty of parking.
L. L.
I come here regularly, with a friend
always pleased with the Cafe it's fresh and good quality
My friend had a shoulder operation and had been Ina lot of pain ,so we treated ourselves to a Cream Tea to make her feel better
It was ok but we were disappointed as
firstly the Clotted Cream was forgotten
then the cake selection was frozen , the eclairs and Mousse Sponge solid frozen we did mention this to the Staff they were apologetic .
We were offered a free coffee which I don't think is quite enough
R. H.
Helpful knowledgeable staff.
The plants and other products may well be slightly priced higher here, but I really don't mind paying the prices when its quality products Wyevale sells. For example their plants have already been taken care off in the store, even before passing the till. This high standard of care and commitment guarantees the durability of the plant through the winter season ahead. We’ll be back for our Christmas Tree soon.
b.
Good range of stuff and cafe is amazing
S. P.
Dobbies is next door to the Horse Race Track and the views are wonderful of the Marina and Sea in that part of Brighton. It was changing ownership when I went early Christmas shopping but I still managed to get some pressies amongst the confusion. I look forward to visiting again and see an organised display of gifts and garden aids. The Pets department, outdoor plants plus a pleasant eatery catering for a full meal or coffee, tea and cakes is added pleasure
M. K.
Great garden centre up by Brighton race course. Nearby walks available for dogs before you go shopping, two minutes from car park. The centre also allows dogs on a lead and there is a pet store inside as well as an aquatic pet store. Big garden centre with lots of choice, other shopping available for the home and gifts. Garden furniture and outdoor equipment also available. Good friendly staff. Customer toilets available. Café at the back of the centre once you've gone outside past the pots. Plenty of car parking available and carry to car assistance available.
J.
Great selection of plants. The dobbies club is a great idea. Who doesn't like two free drinks every month and 10% off plant purchases. Cafe is welcoming and a lovely selection of yummy cakes.
l. s.
Love this Garden centre, although gardening factor, it has such quirky, different nicks and necks.! If you want a coffee, tea, cake or s hot meal they have a lovely cafe bar!
Staff aren't the friendliest although the younger staff seem to make more of an effort..
😁😁😁
C. S.
Had a great Christmas lunch today, severed by Maxine and the wonderful staff.
C. K.
Haven't been for a while when was Wyevale, too pretentiously middle class and pricy then, heard changeover recent, low stock, staff apprehensive, rather empty for bank holiday weekend Sunday but noticeably friendly helpful, knowledgeable staff on grounds, cashier and outside, including pet shop.
Can't understand why there's no seasonal update somewhere in store with gardening tips on what/how to grow, for both leisure and consumption, would encourage me to return more often ...
Hopefully their prices will be more realistic.
J. K.
Oh great experience, knowledgeable staff, got some great healthy plants, found out what plants I could put around my trees, just bedding plants, but great to add colour.
B. M. R.
Loads of staff very helpful. Great selection of plants. Great coffee too
K. K.
Great deals in every part of the store, check out not very disabled friendly, but ended on a high after getting everything in the car, a young member of dobbies staff, asked if he could help me, yes please.
The check out staff member that served me, needs to be trained in how to serve disabled customers, as I almost left all that I was going to purchase, as he was alful and almost got me to leave without the goods.
If I go back, I will do my best to avoid him.
C. S.
Lovely centre, well stocked
D. M.
It's more like a mini shopping centre now, very limited choice of actual garden stuff, won't use again. I get a better choice of gardening stuff at asda lol
H. T.
Lovely place lovely plants xx
K. W.
Not too busy at all-Hand sanitiser and spaced que at entry that moves quite fast. Pay by card only . Lively people working there and so good to be able to buy some plants and lavender for our shelf whilst we don't have a garden. Also sells a few basic household goods - laundry detergent and tinned goods and toilet roll! ....near the baking and confectionery area. I also finally got a tin opener and candles. Funny the things we miss whilst in lockdown lol.
D. R.
Lunch was lovely although we arrived at 2.30 so choice was a bit limited. Didn't have the veg plants we wanted only peppers in profusion. Nice to browse round and staff very friendly.
P.
nice garden centre. good range, nice selection. got everything I went for. plentiful free parking.
e. v.
Fantastic place to by plants always handy when needed new plants what else could be better with cup of coffee and some nice and delicious cake. 😋
J.
A great selection of stock and quite a few concessions such as Rowan, a florist, pet shop, aquatics shop and Fat Face. We’ve visited several times and can spend a couple of hours browsing and visiting the café. The only thing I will say on a negative note; we came around Halloween for the hunt and the entire centre was array with Christmas stock and decoration- nothing to do with Halloween at all. I suppose that’s the downside of society and retail these days...the build up for events and occasions is so extreme it’s all a bit of a let down when it actually arrives. Nonetheless Wyevale is a nice place to visit and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We will return.
A. G. S.
Very good service will use again
J. W.
I bought six large and heavy glazed planters. The staff were absolutely magnificent in their help Christine on the till, Jack, who found a large trolley and did all the heavy lifting for me, and to Luke, the delivery driver, who not only delivered the pots , but brought me home in his van . Wonderful service. A very big THANKYOU to you all .
M. W.
Not cheap but no high end garden centre is...this is the one I personally use. I'm a builder myself but my passion is my garden...here I can get everything I need and would rather pay a bit more over the more generic places...great for kids and the older generation because it has a cafe...a pet store and a tropical/marine shop all inside it....if there were 6 stars they would get it.... No I don't work there but I probably spend enough to pay one of there staffs wages...love it.
T. T.
A great wide choice of items at a reasonable price, a well-stocked pet shop, and a cafe that serves the largest carvery sandwiches I have ever seen. There is plenty of parking, and the helpful staff will load big bags of soil to your car for you.
S. P.
Very expensive Santa & no " atmosphere " in grotto .was through in under 5 minutes but Santa himself was lovely; cafe awful
Slow rude staff .unable to get food as they didn't seem able to cope even though there were tables available. So quiet you wouldn't know it was 4 days before xmas. They really need to up their game to keep up with dobbies good name ;
P. C.
Great place to spend an afternoon it has some great plants ,veg ,shrubs and all the other things you need for your garden they have a pet store area with a great variety of stock the staff are friendly and knowledgeable you can stop for a coffee in the cafe
D. B. t.
Fantastic , So much choice on absolutely anything your garden, patio or window ledge. My favourite garden centre in Brighton area..
a. b.
Good place the employees are very friendly but there is no menu to eat while having a beer..
D. R.
Great products and always make a point of visiting their restaurant. My wife loves their fish and chips 😉
J. V.
Beautiful garden centre with a great range of products. Lovely cafe out the back.
F. R. P.
Great range of outdoor plants and gardening equipment. Often the range of indoor plants is very limited to very standard varieties so I prefer the get my indoor plants elsewhere. Good range of gifts and homeware items.
K. D.
Great selection of plants. Store is well laid out. Staff are available. Plants are quite pricey. But there is a good sale section at the back.
m. b.
A liittle expensive for some pretty average cake n coffee. Staff rushed off feet in cafe but very friendly. Well laid out, clean shop with good variety of choice
M. C.
Garden Centre is fine but the cafe has gone down hill unfortunately. Can't understand why one server behind the till not only takes orders but serves up the drinks as well, this leads to the inevitable delays when ordering. Check out the garden centre at Hassocks as to how to do it.
n. w.
Very expensive. Clean inside though there were a lot of empty shelves in the gardening department on the more affordable items.
S. R.
Quite a good range of lite bite meals plus snack type items like cakes, biscuits and a range of sandwiches including toasted.
The only downside is that the service is very slow especially when it gets a bit busy day around lunchtime and can be very frustrating if you only want a drink.
J. H.
It's alright... Good plants and lots of tat... Loads of discount signs with small print that says members only... Make sure you take your glasses!
T. L.
A good selection of plants herbs and pond equipment. Cafe serves good quality food freshly cooked at reasonable prices. Good offers too for the over 60's and pensioners.
R. H.
The products are rather expensive I had a look round and came across a lovely olive tree but what surprised me was the price it was tadexpensive for the size of it and I've been to places with better olive trees for more sensible prices. When i last visited their wasn't much in stock my son asked me if he could get a small wooden toy sword i looked at the price and had to say no to him.Though the open space and the beatifull setting made me lighten up a bit. It's very well organised and the staff are attentive and helpful.I'd very look forward to my next visit and see what's in stock.
D. H.
Great range of plants and shrubs, lots of great merchandise. Staff amazing and so helpful
A. C.
Not bad for a wander but costly. Well stocked and attractively laid out but a big thumbs down to all the chemical weedkillers and pest killers. I mark down for these as biological controls should be widely available and controversial glyphosate products should be phased out now in my opinion. The Wyevale stores are now up for sale so whether this will remain a garden centre remains to be seen.
C. G.
Lovely garden centre, and had tea and toasted teacakes
Sat outside in the sunshine 🌞
T. P.
Bought some lovely plants and also had a great meal of fish and chips. They are still transitioning from previous owners. Hope it will soon be done.
K. M.
I ate here with a friend today. We both had little babies and the service was amazing. They brought everything over for us even though they were super busy and it really made my day. Thank you for being so kind 😀
A. R.
Went for breakfast. Breakfast was a little greasy. Quick service and staff were friendly and helpful. Garden centre has an excellent variety of plants, garden ware, fish and other housewares.
L. W.
Standard Wyevale Garden Centre with reasonable range as expected, prices higher than online of course. Outdoor clothing outlet store (Regatta, Craghoppers etc) at excellent prices. Cafe OK, but no breakfast after 11:30am and reasonably limited menu at average prices.
S. B.
Good place to browse around. Good pet store within the store. Lots of outside space housing plants, larger plants and trees garden fencing, posts and other items for the garden. Sheds and garden decorations and statues, lots of sacks of composts. Inside there's a large range of garden furniture, BBQs, tools and electrical garden tools. Lots of plants and seeds. Yankee candle stall and lots of stalls with food stuffs, gifts, kitchen ware, table ware. Books and toys. There's a department selling fish and equipment for keeping fish and tanks. Lots of tropical breeds also. The pet store sells every possible product to keep, feed, house and groom your pet. Birds, small rodants, rabbits, cats and dogs. Also more exotic animals. They sell a small number of birds and animals. They also offer micro chipping your dog or cat. And sell ID tags.
J.
Great selection of plants. Also has an aquatic shop containing fish and fishtank supplies and a small pet centre.
Very reasonably priced café selling hot and cold food.
M. T.
Really nice plants for indoor and outdoor BUT the prices are ridiculous high! In every other countries the same plants are for the half of the price!!! That's the reason why I don't buy there anything.
T. D.
A new find for me by Brighton race course. Perfect for garden, xmas trees, & home accessories. Even has a cheeky Sainsbury's and Pet store. Winning!
J. M.
Like all Garden centres these days its all show, nic-nacks, toys and unessentials coupled with the occasional plant, shurb or young tree.
I've know issue with their flora and fauna. I've been, on occasion, really pleased with a purchase especially the ornamental grasses I bought last year.
K. G.
Good variety of things garden related and has pet store and aquarist centre as well as pleasant cafe. Getting a coffee can be a little slow, but the staff are friendly and helpful.
M. G.
Very helpful shop attendants who helped my son find a Venus fly trap. Happy son, happy mommy.
C. L.
Great Place To Visit if you like stuff for the garden and the home.
S. F.
Good garden centre which sells a wide range of healthy looking, if a little expensive, plants. There is a cafe, pet shop, flower shop and gift area here, as well as an aquarium shop. Definitely worth a visit.
R. H.
Found some bargains. New tills causing problems. Hot meals we wanted were sold out - no napkins - no toilet rolls in dispensers in some cubicles. Ploughmans advertised on big board in entrance no longer available.
T. H.
Very nice staff all ways happy to see me and my puppy and a added bonus they have a pets corner and they also are a great help
T. M.
A wide arrange of plants and some good offers. They have everything you need to grow beautiful plants. The staff are very nice and helpful.
J. P.
Cafe as diabolical as ever, allow 15 mins before sitting down - no process, method just random although lots of staff - disorganised! Toilets not checked enough.. Busy shop as always so should realise - rubbish and grubby seats in gents area cubicle ... Bought wrapping paper and gift bags in shop, paid for a bag expecting plastic (pouring with rain) - when I said I didn't expect to pay for a paper bag and wanted plastic (for obvious reason) patronised told its saving the environment - how? It's a paper bag that's no good for paper purchases to be carried in the rain.. What's the 5p for - the environment? Just gets worse here.. May just as well go off to Mayberry in future..
D. W.
Got everything I wanted under one roof.Good day shopping.
S.
Love this garden centre. Always end up buying more than needed. Also really helpful having the petshop and lovely cafe. Can make a right day out of a visit here !
D. B.
Helpful staff and very good range of plants and other garden products. A little light this time on mixed planters perhaps because emphasis was too much on hanging baskets.
J. P. M.
A big garden centre with a large coffee shop. It also has a little Sainsbury's inside. It was not that easy 3find what I wanted
R. L.
I do.love this garden centre but you are very pricey 😟😟 I wish you could be cheaper then I would visit more.
Your selection of plants, pits and all thing garden is amazing but it's pricey but I do love you ❤
S. P.
They have all kinds of stuff. Not just plants. Went to buy seeds, came out with shoes and jackets. Also such a range of unusual sweets!
J. B.
A lovely garden centre with a wide selection of everything garden related. Very reasonable prices and helpful staff. Coping with Covid19 in a practical way.
G. V.
Enjoyed a lovely walk round, both inside and out, and a lovely lunch in the Restaurant. Served by a very helpful young man when we purchased a set of garden furniture.
T. M. B.

Nice location. Mostly empty this time. Of course
K. C.
Went here recently to buy pots etc for my indoor plants 🪴. Unfortunately I couldn't get the plastic pots I needed, but managed to get everything else
J. H.
Very gardeny but not as happy or fit as happyfit.uk or happyswims.uk the wettest and happiest swimmers in the world in Brighton 😊
K. R.
This is the 2nd time I've gone to the florists shop in this garden centre for flowers for a funeral. This time the ladies went beyond their job roles and helped me. I'd brought flowers from asda and needed to bunch them for a funeral but had no idea. I went in and needed cellophane to sort the flowers. The ladies offered to arrange the 2 bunches I did have so I went and got them from the car. Couldn't have asked for a more caring and understanding bunch of ladies. Thankyou so so much for you kind act as I was upset and panicking we would be late for the funeral. The flowers were beautiful. I'll be back in the future to buy some flowers.
D. S.

Club membership worth it. Selection of flowering plants great but veg selection poor on this visit. Reasonable prices.
s.
Very dog friendly, lots of lovely plants, gifts and interesting food. I love popping in to see the fish and in to the pet shop.
G. W.
A hidden gem at the 'racecorse' with free parking and a stylish simple offering for breakfast, the smaller portion being more than enough. Such a shame with such a unique hill - top site you cannot see out ...
L. S.
All you would expect from a garden centre. Pet shop and aquarium also on site. Great restaurant too! Friendly staff, good sale lines. What's not to like.
T. B.
Hardly any staff about to ask questions. If you're new to gardening, it's difficult to find anything. The staff member I did find was very friendly.
C.
Cafe is always under managed. One girl doing coffees and teas as well as doing the tills.. Queue getting fed up. It was like this when it was Wyevale, seems nothing has changed now Dobbies.

The "Garden Kitchen" provides an excellent escape from the weather. The sun streams through the windows of a morning, the breakfast is tasty, balanced and keenly priced, and of course parking is FREE, unlike most of Brighton !!

It's a chain garden centre, so no surprises. Standard product range. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Plenty of parking.

We generally go there for coffee to escape the madenes of the cramped city centre. It's great coffee and they do a wicked hot chocolate but....the service is dire so be prepared to wait ages....and ages!
J. R.
The restaurant at this garden centre is very nice but never enough room to sit when weve gone in for lunch .Many a times Weve looked forward to going in for dinner after browsing around the centre. Then weve looked in and had to come back out because theres never any tables free.Twice recently this has happened.
