Reviews of Iron Acton Garden Centre
A. G.
This garden centre is well stocked with all the product you would want from a garden centre a wide range of bedding plants fruit trees and shrubs of all kinds garden lights and ornaments bird feeders and garden furniture pond supply hose components seeds and much more it also has a very nice cafe on site
I. N.
Lovely garden centre with a great selection of outdoor and indoor plants. If you're looking for indoor plants I would highly suggest this place as they've got a bigger selection than other garden centres in the area. The plants all look very well taken care off, definitely my favourite garden centre in the area and would highly recommend. Staff are very approachable, polite and friendly. Loved all the bees on the flowers too!
A. W.
Absolutely love the garden centre whenever I go there I tend to come out with a much lighter wallet, purchased a bird feeder and some lovely plants to spruce up the garden. Lovely plants as always, this time we thought we would try the cafe for the first time and that is the reason I can’t give the review 5 stars because the only way I can describe the staff in the cafe is absolute sour faced I’ve seen more positivity in an orphanage, the girl who came out with our food didn’t even ask who it was for and just slammed it on the table the atmosphere the staff created wasn’t welcoming and for the price we paid the quality of the food was just a bit sub par.
R. S.
Only used the cafe so can't comment on the garden centre itself. Small cafe, nice and clean. Enjoyed the food which was tasty and delivered quickly. Upgrading crisps to chips with a sandwich cost a pound which was very expensive as the chips portion was very small. Counter service was very slow and inefficient so don't go if you're in a hurry.
J. B.
Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the garden centre. The cafe staff were friendly, well organised and gave the food those extra finishing touches, ie; strawberries with the cream tea. The cafe has a varied menu and a counter service. Although the same company as Chepstow garden centre, we found the cafe at Iron Acton more organised and better all round! Would definitely recommend a visit!
R. H.
I was really disappointed with my recent visit to the Iron Acton Garden Centre. There was a decent variety and selection of plants but the cafe was very poor. The cafe staff were friendly but I felt they had no idea what they were doing. It took a while for us to be served and when we were the lady didn't really know what she was doing. We ordered three drinks and a portion of crumpets which was included as the Gardener's Club deal of the month but the server didn't really seem to understand how the deal worked or how to put it through the till. The cakes on display didn't really look very appetising and the overall cleanliness of the cafe wasn't really up to standard. The cafe was a disappointed but the overall garden centre was nice. I would say it was below par to compared to other local garden centres but they did have a good range of plants. The staff in the garden centre were very friendly, helpful and welcoming and they really do know their stuff. I had never been to the Iron Acton Garden Centre before, I probably wouldn't go back unless I needed to pop in and quickly grab something and I definitely wouldn't return to the cafe. The cafe definitely let the garden centre down.

Loved our visit as we come fairly regularly to the aquatic centre, tried the cafe and the service was poor, our order for a tea and hot chocolate and 2 pieces of cake took ages one member of staff stopped going our order to serve someone's hot meal, tables not cleared either short staffed or weren't trained properly not good I'm afraid.
C. H.
Lovely little place, the aquatic store had little baby turtles 🐢

My partner and I brought our socialgroup to Iron Action Garden Centre today for a pre arranged visit to the café. The 11 of us were greated by the cheerful staff who ushered us to our reserved table. We were seated on a long table by the window but were told we were welcome to use any or all of the tables in our section.
Most of our members opted for a full lunch, but others like me chose a snack. Orders were placed individually, so we didn't make it easy for kitchen or waiting staff.
I soon had 'food envy when I saw a friend's scampi arrive. However when my ham salad sandwich arrived I was more than satisfied.
Our sincere thanks to Jackie and Sarah who served us so efficiently. Sharon even came out from the kitchen to check that all were happy and that all went well.
Well done team, we shall return.

Had a good look around this garden centre today it’s not very big compared to some places but nevertheless well stocked with plenty of everything. There are gifts all the plants and gardening accessories plus a nice little cafe for I bite to eat and drink. Some of the plants were quite reasonable priced,we bought a nice Viburnum Tinus Gwenllian it only cost £9.99 for the size of it it was a bargain....There is also an Aquatic place on site selling fish and all the accessories. This place is well worth a look around.

Always love visiting Parker's at Iron Acton. The prices are very reasonable by comparison with many other establishments whom over-inflate their profit margins. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable, the range is excellent. There are indoor and outdoor flora, and a large variety of seeds including fruits and vegetables. Gardening equipment galore, pond flora, a nice cafe with great selection of cakes and tasty coffee varieties. They also have a fairly extensive aquarium area with tropical and cold water fish, shrimp, speciality frogs etc. They always seem to have special offers throughout all sections. Plenty of onsite parking, disabled access, toilets etc. A firm favourite of mine and always worth a visit! Within close driving distance of several major roads including the M4, M5, M32, A38, A46 and A4174 ring road.
A. G.
Great garden centre with a little bit of everything. Huge aquatic centre and very helpful staff
S. J.
Great garden centre, not the biggest but has a nice feel about it. Prices are reasonable and the cafe is decent.
S. H.
Great garden centre purchased a bird bath but a frog that sits on top was missing which wasn't an issue however they are making one for me to collect once its done
C. J.
Popped in the cafe for lunch. My husband had a jacket potato I had a sandwich. Both came with a generous side salad plus mine had crunchy thick cut crisps.
Both meals were delicious would recommend.
J. H.
Needed help with flexible hose to connect a garden water feature- very helpful in the aquatic centre
S. G.
Some beautiful plants + gorgeous colours.Starting to get their Xmas lights + decorations in now too 😊 xx
M. H.
Went here with my mum and sister and were served in the cafe by some very hard working, smiley staff. We were advised of a little wait for food because they were busy. Totally acceptable.
Complete contrast to the rude woman asking for a refund for a toastie when she had no receipt, demanding to see a manager.
When staff are busy, it's because they are BUSY, accept it or move on. Thank you to the staff working hard for us. Remember we are not out of the pandemic yet.
B. B.
Nice little garden centre with a decent range of products and plants.
P. P.
Always lovely plants and served by lovely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Nice to have a browse around the shop.😊. Wasn’t so keen on the cafe visit. Leek and potato soup was orange and spicy 🤷♀️ Friend and I Would normally have cake too. Liked the look of the apple pie (£3) didn’t like to have to pay 50p extra each (£1) to warm it up for approx 30 seconds in the microwave🤔. Would have presumed with custard, would that have been charged to warm up too?? Had cake elsewhere. Sorry.
C. P.
A very user friendly and welcoming garden centre with lovely plants and goods
S. E.
What a nice friendly place. Staff all very happy in their work.
Cafe very nice with delicious cake!
P. T.
A small but well stocked garden centre. I like the fact that it has stayed focussed on products for the garden. Some garden centres in the area seem to have have turned into gift shops. It also has a very good range of seeds and house plants too.
l. j.
very good choice of house plants, and competitive prices
A. J.
Decent garden centre and aquatics, biggest let down is the "cafe" poor food, poor menu, poor service.
L. C.
love this place. .. got all our plants from here and our fish /food from the Tropical shop located through the store . all staff are friendly and polite .. the storeb
is well stocked with gifts and at present Xmas lights /decorations and to finish off your visit a lovely cup of coffee cake or snack in Cafe. well-worth a visit.
P. s.
Had a good lunch. Good quality but at a higher than normal price.
M. D.
Friendly service, good range of plants and sundries, clean loos, convenient parking.
On a recent visit my mother and I both ordered quiche in the cafe. We both found lumps of ice in the centre, which spoilt our meal, so I don't recommend eating there.
B. P. a. S. L.
Fantastic selection of garden 🪴 products and a great cafe!
M. G.
great small garden centre with very reasonable prices
S. K.
Has disabled parking and plenty more spaces, good variety of goods and has a cafe, staff are very friendly and helpful. We bought some bamboo trees and pots and really happy with them they delivered next day for free great service and not overpriced like most garden centres
G. M.
It a nice garden center, not too big, but they have a lovely small cafe and the food it's good, and also there is a big area dedicated to fishes, they have loads and my 6 years old boy loved it we spend 40 min only watching the fishes in their tanks
S. C.
Lovely little cafe, good team, and they understand and provide for those of us who are gluten free. And what is more they give us the choice of more than one thing! How enlightened. Will go back again. Thank you
Been back today for a good gluten free breakfast. Great stuff!
M. S.
Good parking, good selection of products, cafe was good but sadly the way to the toilets was difficult ie signage but when you got there they were clean, well lit,
K. C.
Excellent checkout staff today. Also very knowledge staff, Good choice,a little on the expensive side.
J.
Lovely plants, friendly staff. Could do with a bit more choice in cafe.
D. M.
Friendly Staff plenty of room in the cafe fast service
a. w.
Pleasant cafe. Food is good, polite staff. There is small outside area for eating, as well as plenty of tables inside. Toilets are outside up some steps, they have a disabled toilet which is accessible from the main shopping area.
G. L.
Easy parking. Good selection of plants and sundries. Cards, presents, houseplants, houseplants etc. Amazing proper homemade food in cafe at reasonable prices ...recommend.
M. V.
Really nice presented place got most things for garden, shed, greenhouse, outside have some wonderful stuff there to, we only went for a look round and found a few bargains which we purchased great place and friendly helpful staff
L. S.
Visited to pick up a few bits before lockdown. Always has a good selection of plants, as well as a few gift type items. Staff pleasant & helpful. Had a good Xmas display of lights & trimmings. Didn't find a hand cleansing station though. Used our own.
E. T.
Really good value for money. Lots of choice at a good price.
C. P.
Good selection of plants, staff helpful loading compost in car.
M. W.
Went for breakfast, husband's birthday treat from the Centre. Lovely b'fast, served hot and fresh, granary bread for toast, nicer than white bread! Had a look around after, always something to catch your eye, and place has been reorganised, really nice. The Chepstow site is also well worth a visit, much bigger, more to see, Cafe is great too
J. S.
Excellent service. Held some furniture in storage for us for weeks. Good range of products, plants etc. & cheaper than some other local garden centres too.
N. T.
Great experience and food was lovely
K. K.
We stopped in for coffee but, for the second time the coffee machine was out of order, we tried the tea and scones instead, very nice
J. F.
Wonderful place for a look around and to enjoy a nice coffee break. Wanted s new garden bench and they couldn't have been more helpful Bought a superb bench and perfect ending to a lovely experience by delivery team Jo and Gabby. Many thanks to Any and Steve who guided us to the bench we needed. Janice and Duncan Franklin
E. D.
Cafe has had a spruce up, service is okay. Range in garden centre and fish shop is huge.
A. R. P. (.
Nice help when selecting centrepiece plants.
Parkers Aquatics very friendly and helpful too, also sell RO water.
I. T.
Friendly independent garden centre with good range of plants and general garden items. Even has Parkers Aquatics on site for all your pond/Water feature needs. Recommended.
S. O.
I like the fact that it also has an aquatic shop at the back. This gives children a great source of fascination and entertainment. Good range of plants for flowers & vegetables, but not a great range of trees. Lots of herbaceous & aquatic plants and shrubs. Plenty of gardening related items indoors with a good range of seeds. Cafe and toilets available, but cafe shut at the time of writing this due to COVID-19 virus outbreak.
J. H.
Excellent cafe and also very good plants
P. B.
Nice medium sized garden centre, plenty of choice and good prices. Staff are absolutely fantastic!
J. B.
Really nice array of indoor and outdoor plants. A few remaining bargains in unsold Christmas items at end of January 2021. Spacious and operating a one way system for Covid safety. Soft toys. Seed potatoes. Garden tools. Garden furniture. A big car park.
B. R.
They still have Christmas trees
J. P.
Iron Acton garden centre is small but well stocked with healthy plants and a variety of sundries. Without doubt the best part of any visit is the cafe, which is spotless and provides a fabulous selection of proper home made lunches and cakes and does a brilliant Sunday roast. The catering manager Sue and her team are always friendly and efficient even during their busy times. It's well worth a visit.
A. K.
Pleasant and helpful staff. We'll stocked nursery. Busy but still room in the car park.
C. L.
Good collection of plants and a cafe too
C. W.
Good quality indoor and outdoor plants, accessories, aquatic and bird feed etc. I took my little dog to choose some plant pots. Very welcoming and excellent service.
P. C.
Nice garden centre, excellent aquatic centre but the cafe lets the place down - expensive, poor counter display, dreadful coffee and slow service.
A. M.
Good communication from start to finish, excellent service
K. N.
Didn't have exactly what I wanted but the alternative offered was a brilliant result. The site if far more commercial these days and offers a wider choice of products for gardeners and fish lovers.
S. J.
Really clean and tidy garden centre well laid out and using the appropriate measures for social distancing. A wide range of plants and tools for all gardening needs and budget and friendly staff willing to lend a hand.
S. M.
Garden Centre lovely. Had a delicious piece if cake and hot chocolate was amazingly delicious, but didn't see any toilets.
B.
Hoping it's just getting going again after refurb (which still seems to be ongoing) but bit disappointing. Didn't make real coffee, just used a push button machine which couldn't keep up with the queue and gave bland coffee. Staff pleasant as always. No specials board for food visible any more. Fingers crossed the coffee and good bits will return soon as we like it here.
A. M.
Great Garden centre, helpful staff.
A. J.
Fantastic. Bought fish and plants, right after a trip to Almondsbury. Almondsbury was full of dead and falling over plants. Here, every plant was in perfect condition and much cheaper. Great pond fish selection, all very healthy. Going back tonight!
E. C.
The garden centre was nice big range of stock, the aquarium area had a great fish stock but felt staff were a bit rude
G. C.
Great selection of plants, competitive prices.Staff very helpful
P.
Nice place that's larger than expected. Cafe was closed due to covid. Went there looking for sale prices exams trees but even though they were half price they were still really expensive for not that great a tree.
S. S.
Great café, nice meal and reasonably priced. Best part was seeing all the staff wearing masks even though they don't need to.
G. K. W.
Really like this garden centre, they have lovely plants and the cafe is nice as well.Little dissapointed with my 6 chips with my panini.
S. H.
Afternoon tea, excellent value. Could even say, you could share 1 between 2
D. C.
The garden centre itself isn't too bad, enough of a selection for our simple gardening needs. The café is useless though, poor organisation, grumpy staff and the food wasn't that good. Not awful but not good either. I normally finish off anything in front of me but I didn't eat all the jacket potato.
j. r.
Went out to buy some bits for the pond and a water lilly oh and you got to have a look at the fish
B. O.
Very Helpful staff
Very over the top prices for associated garden items, solar power lights, plant troughs although a large selection reasonable priced plants all in all a nice experiance 😉
R. A.
I'm not a gardener, so my comment can't be informative. All I can say that there is a lot of colourful and different plants here. To me they are all weeds, as I can't tell the difference between what is considered to be a lovely (& sometimes expensive) plant and a very colourful weed. For me, weeds are the best "plants" to have. They don't need looking after, they flower every year & don't you think that a dandylion is pretty and a beautiful colour yellow?
J. B.
I visited this gdn ctr today with my brother. I purchased two beautiful framed pictures and my brother bought a garden Statue. The staff were very helpful and took great care to wrap my purchases in bubble wrap. I also bought several plants and shrubs on the wknd when I visited with my husband. I have always been happy with the quality of plants and having their gardeners club card is an added bonus.
w. r.
Great variety of plants.
G. D.
Nice garden centre, had what I wanted. Just hope I can keep it alive and growing well 🤣
A. R.
First visit after a recommendation from a friend. Wonderful, happy & helpful staff and very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again!
J. C.
In the café they forgot to bring the cake out, so that caused a delay; all the food was otherwise good. Good selection of plants, other items for the garden and Christmas decorations. Friendly staff.
A. w.
Huge variety of plants! Love it there! Definitely will be regular visitors. The gardeners club is also worth signing up to for the offers.
K. D.
Beautiful well maintained plants today and wide selection. One if my favourite garden centres.
M. S.
Helpful friendly staff nice and safe to walk around but the disabled toilet has been Cordoned off so you have to go though cafe and up steps to get to it which is impossible for my mum who is in a wheelchair or on mobility buggy
R. B.
Friendly well run garden ctr
M. W.
Took my mum there today after the guild lines allowed her to leave the house since March. Was a safe experience they have but lots of measures in place so you can safely shop
A. B.
Great staff and a good selection of plants, garden furniture, solar lighting and your other gardening products
L. T.

Not as large as chepstow one with same owners. But excellent prices and special offers. Cafe very dated as was the whole place. Menu very poor. Well worth a visit.

Plenty of plants and really helpful staff. Was disappointed to see loads of the reduced plants basically dead (far past the reduced stage) but regardless, a nice centre to visit
D. W.
Lots of great plants in very good condition, at reasonable prices. Staff as helpful as usual🥰

Good choice of plants but no bargains.

Plants, tools and sundries prices are on the expensive side. Occasionally you might come across a helpful member of staff to answer about plants. Cafe is alright, not much variety.
