Reviews of Hilltop Garden Centre
A. K.
What a beautiful place. Its even got a gorgeous Park which my granddaughters enjoyed. I had breakfast here with my family and it was really lovely. We was saying that the staff here are so friendly and kind. Definitely will be coming here again. I would highly recommend coming here. They have a great range of plants.
M. K.
A well stocked and organised garden centre, located in beautiful countryside with a café and a decently sized lawn and kids play area. The staff are amazing too! Will definitely be going back.
J. F.
I really liked this garden centre. So much bigger than I thought. A good selection of plants & outdoor planters. The cafe was nice & clean. Helpful staff & a large Christmas display.
H. T. T.
Hilltop is great. We always go for a look at their Christmas display. It's very good!
A.
Always fantastic coming here at Christmas. They have had a bit of a change around, which I think has made it better. Staff giving out a free Christmas gift for the Children at the till today. Pleasant staff. Always nice Christmas Charity donation box3s, Singing Santa's. A nice place to get memorial things too.
T. W.
Took grandchildren here to see Christmas decorations and lights. It's absolutely stunning, well worth a look.

An excellent garden centre and more!
We bought some beautiful good quality plants, had a fab lunch and bought some handy bits and pieces. We will be back....especially for the Christmas goodies that were just being put on display.
L.
A nice garden centre with some good deals to be had. I bought half price large ceramic frost proof pots, for next year's plants...bargain!
Plenty of plants to choose from and statues which are at a lower price than the more well known garden centre.
There is a little cafe but it's very expensive, so don't usually go in.
There are toilets available too.
The best part of this family run establishment are the Christmas decorations. They always make the place look stunning and magical. A great place to bring the children, especially when they have Santa later in the year.
If you suffer with migraines or epilepsy, beware that there is an area of flashing lights and music.
The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because of the young girls at the checkout. Most are miserable, unfriendly and do not smile. They should not be working with customers.
A. S.
Purchased a chair for the garden in the sales ,so pleased with it. As always helpful staff and prompt service. Highly recommend a visit .
A. D.
So we went here for a new tree topper for our Christmas tree and we spent over £50! So many lovely things, especially at Christmas time. We just got carried away lol. Lovely staff too and the cafe smelled amazing. We will try the cafe next time.
J. K.
Great selection and quality. Xmas section best ever. Cafe deserves a special mention. Great quality and tasty food with friendly staff. We always incorporate lunch into our trips there.

Hilltop is always great for a visit, so much choice and good value! Also living just a few minutes away it's so easy to pop in anytime and get something or grab a coffee and cake in the cafe.
It might only be a small garden centre but is generally better than the big chain brands! Outside there's a huge area of plants, shrubs, trees, garden furniture, equipment and landscaping materials.
Inside you'll find planting and gardening supplies, garden and home decor, large wild bird feeding selection and lots of indoor plants including bonsai and cacti. Also you'll find a small food and treats section (would love this to increase to a "farm shop" type thing with local food, drinks etc but I guess there's not enough space for anything like that without an entire rebuild!).
Also inside is the large seasonal area, particularly popular this time of year with their amazing Christmas selection, decorations and every colour scheme, artificial trees, many many kinds of lights, various ornaments, and lots of things you see much of elsewhere! Real Christmas trees can also be bought just by the main entrance.
In the summer there's a huge range of garden furniture and decor etc. featured instead.
Shame the aquatics isn't there anymore (as it had great stock and was perfect for my essentials) but they've used that space really well for the indoor plants and wild bird area - anyone that feeds the birds would love the range in here.
The cafe is good, nice selection of drinks, snacks, food and cakes, (although the coffee can sometimes taste a bit "off" but generally it's good!), with 3 small rooms to choose from (2 indoor and one open and undercover (although they enclose it when it gets cold outside!)).
Behind the building is a large grass field and a play area for the kids.
The staff are always friendly and helpful (and it seems a lot of the staff have been there a while which is a good sign!). Prices are always good and there are often sales on, and there's so much variety to suit all budgets it's hard to leave empty handed!
Be aware on busy days such as bank holidays the car park can fill up fast with large queues at the tills! So best to visit at other times. Weekends sometimes busy, sometimes not bad but best to visit on weekdays if you can.
Always a regular visitor to Hilltop and always will be.
J. L.
Great place to shop and relax. Great products, fantastic views, lovely Cafe, and an amazing Christmas department.
R. G.
Found this garden centre the other week so decided to pop in to get some food. I had the fish and chips and my wife had toasted cheese sandwiches. Food was really nice, we then had a browse around the garden centre afterwards which is also really well stocked.
Z. F.
Nice place to go shopping. You can buy everything for your garden or front garden. Even if you like the birds, you can feed them. Wide range of flowers, baskets etc.. Definitely go back again.
R. S.
Absolutely loved it, first visit and it was very busy but well worth it we will be back very soon. The Christmas display is excellent a lot of other garden centres could learn how to create a feel good atmosphere from them 👍
G. N.
I have been coming here over the last 6 years for anything I need for my garden especially plants and pots. Also recommend their real
Christmas trees which I get from here every year.
Added pictures of my garden which includes mostly plants and trees purchased from Hilltop Garden Centre.
S. J.
Brilliant garden centre between Coventry and Bulkington, wide range of plants, flowers, garden accessories and life style products. Hilltop is more of a proper garden centre compared to some places. Their variety of plant stock is amazing and all in good health, prices are very reasonable which is crucial due to the cost of living leaving people with reduced budgets.
M. C.
Great garden centre, big variety of stock. Cafe too. Big car park. Well worth a visit!
N. K.
Used to come here regularly to walk around and eat at the restaurant. But the prices in recent times have increased massively and haven't been for a long time now. £9.99 for an omelette and chips is extortionate!
D. C.
Having lived so near to Hilltop Garden Centre for just over 30 years and I didn't even know it was there!!
It's not the largest of centres, the cafe was closed because of Covid-19..but the centre was done up lovely for Christmas ⛄🎄 with a good display and choice of all things Christmas. Excellent for small children. Quite pricey as all these places always are ☺️
J. F.
Absolutely love this place
Definitely need to visit if you like Christmas
Staff on the till need educating though, asked if they had butterflies and they said no, walking around I found one in every colour
S. S.
A well stocked garden centre, and very competitive prices compared to some other garden centres. Well worth a visit if you've not been before
D.
Great garden centre if you need a good selection of indoor and outdoor plants, there Christmas set up is amazing so big go check it out!
S. M.
Great place for a vist. Playground for the kids, cafe for cake and cause its Christmas each of the kids got a present. Good ones and for there age.
S. R.
Always the best experience very high quality plants and they have been a pleasure to deal with for many many years easily one of the best garden centers in the West Midlands not in the final location yet as I'm going to adjust my garden quite a bit absolutely fantastic
J. F.
Very good for Christmas decorations you can get something for someone loveone in a cemetery and you can get anything for your garden they have really good quality things there and they have good food in their nice cafe well wrath a visit
G. F.
Beautiful Christmas display this year.... & always. Absolutely loving the unicorn Christmas selection & sealife decorations. Your staff have worked hard. Great cafe there too, & friendly staff.
E. C.
Fantastic christmas display and we also purchased a christmas tree from there which was reasonably priced. The aquarium fish store is gone however hence 4 stars
T. G. (.
This garden center is great! Some stuff is expensive but it will have everything you need so you have to pay for that. They were just putting their Christmas items out and it is fab! Gorgeous displays. I will definitely be going back.
c. “. w.
Great selections of plants, pots, trellis, stone, and the cafe is great! an awesome christmas selection this time of year and wicked playround for the little one!
what a little gem of a place!
k. n.
Lovely Christmas department, and a nice cafe we come every year and will be going back next year
A. O.
Hilltop garden centre is a great place to browse and pick up some plants and helpful advice from the delightful and friendly gardenening staff. Great advice freely given. Had lunch in the cafe, where the staff seemed stressed and short with customers. Food was nice just a shame the pot of tea was so small. Had to get 2nd pot just to finish my baguette. Maybe offer a choice of tea pot sizes. We noticed while exiting that a table of 3 had a larger pot that would have been an ideal size for that all important 2nd cuppa. We noticed a great outdoor seating and play area. Ideal for families. Will return again as the gardening advice was greatly appreciated and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the busy gardeners.
D. B.
Great choice of plants, garden furniture and water features. Cafe is nice for a spot of lunch and then carry on wondering round. Most garden centres can be expensive but we feel we get value for money here. Definitely worth a visit.... And it's a great place to take grandma out for the day!
J. G.
Hilltop is the best garden centre for me as I have been a customer for many years so a big thank you for your help with my home and garden,Christmas is the best place for all your family and friends to enjoy. Thanks Jim
I. N.
Amazing place. Very nice picnic area. The Christmas toys and decorations are spectacular. My son love it.
M. C.
Great garden centre with an annual Christmas display and goods to buy. Also sells lots of good quality plants and flowers.
T. W.
This is a lovely garden centre well stocked and good quality plants at reasonable prices.
M. M.
Good selection of things and the play area and cafe make this a bit of a gem. Staff are helpful and friendly and the big animal statues in the picnic area are great for curious little ones
C. L.
Excellent, but very busy. Will have to go during the week next time.
B. T.
Always a pleasure to roam around the well set out garden centre
D. P.
Fantastic Garden centre. Very helpful staff. Reasonable prices and lovely cafe
D. 1.
Lovely garden centre, plants are laid out in sections which is great for a novice gardener. They looked healthy and a good range and variety, a little expensive but what isn't these days! Low mark due to the cafe. The staff were friendly but the quality of the drink and food was poor, maybe a place to try for just cake and a soft drink. The coffee was weak and watery with little taste the bacon roll was something I'd expect to buy from a roadside food van. Greasy, cheap bread and fried. I'd definitely visit the garden centre again but not the cafe.
K. P.
One of my favourite garden centres. Always heaving with Christmas decs, always fab to see and spend more than you planned!
J. W.
Lovely garden centre. Great selection of plants and presents. Well worth a visit and especially to see their Christmas display
A. F.
Very nice independent garden centre. Very well stocked with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good range of Plants, Garden Furniture and Lighting. Well worth a visit.
S. W.
We enjoy going to Hilltop. Luvly plants, all well established and in good condition. Prices are ok considering. Had a nice lunch in the cafe, value for money. Staff were polite and helpful. Toilets are clean and well maintained...
S. T.
Fantastic Christmas display they do a good job every year makes Dobbies garden Centre rubbish plants are very healthy and not too expensive been going there over the last 10 never disappointed
s. m.

J. P.
There was a good selection of plants and at reasonable prices, overall very pleased
A. P.
This is a lovely place they do a great Christmas display well worth a visit
A. C.
Great garden centre, awesome Xmas stuff this year, and at a very competitive price!
S. S.
Lovely Christmas shop and wide range of late cyclamen and pansies.Worth a visit.
J. W.
Brilliant garden centre with popular cafe. Christmas decorations are beautiful.
C. S.
I went there again a few weeks ago to have a look at all the Christmas Decorations they had set up every year. Here are a few photos off all the lovely Christmas decorations they set it out really fantastic there and it is a great pleasure to go there
J. C.
CAFE: Pop in quite often for a coffee and cake, or sometimes a breakfast. Always clean and the staff are so helpful.
Garden Centre: Large range and good quality. I know that they will always take, not root bound or half dead. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Their Christmas range is stunning and displayed by colour so really easy to find the things that will work for you.
b.
Real customer service! Products as described and look like they are good quality. Follow up call handled quickly and politely. Delivery men weren't very happy - maybe been chased for not dropping off the 'first drop please' at 2pm. Overall very happy though. Recommended.
N. P.
Lots of choice of plants, seeds, bulbs, garden wear etc. It's all on one level sonis pushchair and wheelchair friendly. There is lots of parking out front for easy access. It isn't the most reasonably priced, definitely on the higher side but the quality is good. The cafe is lovely, home cooked food but again, it is overpriced. The portion sizes definitely make up for it, though.
H. L.
Hilltop nursery has a large selection of great quality plants. I love the herbs and the roses especially & they have a great selection of soils & other garden essentials. The prices are excellent. They have a large shop selling garden furniture & outdoor lights & gifts etc and at Christmas time their decorations are brilliant & beautiful. We love to go to browse and we always go to their lovely roomy restaurant for good quality food at fair prices.
M. L.
An excellent garden centre, nice cafe - good selection of breakfast and a nice menu overall. A very good selection in their gift range. Very healthy looking plants - looks like new stock is arriving for springtime. Perhaps if you are looking for a specific plant/variety, you may struggle. But, I think that you would see something that you like to fill that space on your windowsill or garden... well worth a visit, if only for a coffee and a looksee. Only criticism on my last visit, was that the staff on the tills could have been a little more customer friendly - I found slight rudeness not an asset.
G. S.
Great place to visit, plenty of car parking, excellent stock of good quality products
K. P.
Lovely garden centre you can get what you want for the garden and Christmas
D. A.
The place to go for Xmas lights etc, staff good as was display.
P. C.
Great experience all round. Loved the way it was set up for children too
C. B.
Always love coming here at this time of year. Starting getting ready for Christmas 🎄. Took mum for a pre Christmas treat. Lovely tea and fresh cream cake.
L. S.
Fabulous ..... place that really sparkles this time of year ....but I feel that more toilets are required ....queing when desperate isn't good ....
J. B.
Amazing as usual found back garden area children s play area didnt know we're there
M. H.
Excellent plants and service as usual. Best in Coventry and Warwickshire
K. Y.
Good garden centre but cafe disappointing. Used to be good but very poor on last couple of visits
V. R.
Very helpfull team, information I required A* just need some help with some measurements reference putting some menbrane and some stones bottom of garden much appreciated
G. C.
Fantastic Christmas display, lovely staff, as with every where you go compare prices( you may not need top of the range Wilkinson sword secures) then again you might. But well worth a visit and a lovely coffee shop with a great collection of cakes!!!
I. L.
Lovely garden centre with everything tou need. Also has a lively cafe serving delicious cakes and drinks
J. A.
An absolutely fantastic garden centre with a great selection of all things garden related. Topped off with extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend
T. S.
Went to use cafe, also explored the decorations masses of choice.
R. H.
I'm going to give it five stars, was thinking about 4 stars but I'm not going to give it one less star due to the thickness of cheese lol, so basically we had lunch, kids had the kids meals which was great as they get to choose there own, we had two baguettes, ham and cheese, I think we had half a packet of cheese in our baguettes, I think you could of easily made two more baguettes out of it, but anyway the kids loved it, they loved the park, and we brought a beautifully rose
C. C.
It was very busy and because of the layout it is very stressful trying to negotiate a trolley round the narrow pathways. Also there is nowhere to put your trolley if you want to get something from the cafe without blocking random narrow pathways.
c. c.
Awesome - lovely food. Really lovely gifts too. Def going again
C.
Great garden centre. Don’t usually do reviews but the staff were so helpful and available! Well stocked and set out. Will be back.
L.
Love this garden centre, always plenty of beautiful plants even after scorching heatwave!
R. L.
It's okay a wide range of plants but they are not very well looked after, have alot of weeds in pots and dying plants also in many areas, such a shame too, great cafe and tiny little play park for children, a little overpriced for items buts it's not bad for a small trip out
M. P.
Such a wonderful garden centre in every way
C. S.
Huge variety of plants, compost, furniture, lights, tools, gifts and more, all at reasonable prices. Well laid out. Easy to park. Didnt use the cafe, so can't comment.
M. B.
Hilltop Garden Centre is the best place to buy good quality plants in the area. The cafe serves excellent freshly prepared food. Parking is good. My garden is an example of the beautiful plants bought from Hilltop.
G. F.
Great garden centre with excellent choices, also food available on site also great choices.
C. M.
We had a lovely afternoon at the garden centre, all the staff were friendly and helpful. There is such a wonderful variety of plants at affordable prices. Some lovely garden furniture and lots of different types of paving etc. There is also a shop with Jewellery and lots of pretty ornaments. We also visited the tea room for a cupper and cake. I am a wheelchair user and it was all assessable. Thank you
M. S.
Absolutely fabulous place, they have such an extensive range of plants, flower, garden features ect. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
W. w.
Great present for mums birthday for git all about this garden centre I haven't been here for years, well not since moving back to the Midlands.
E. A.
this garden centre has some truly beautiful bits inside, its all laid out very well and the walkways are very open so no trouble working your way round. when i went last time although it was very busy the young man i needed assistance from seemed a little put out but it was very busy so i put it down to that. but overall lovely garden centre
j. t.
Great selection of plants,
Even quite a few tropical plants .
S.
Great place, we visited today for our first Aquarium for our kids, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Being first time, we were having too many questions on Aquarium and on different fishes, Steven (the guy with long beard) was very knowledgeable, friendly and patiently answered all our questions. He guided us on what all to look for the first time, advised on accessories, fish food and on how to take care of your fish. He seems very knowledgeable.
We will definitely visit again and would spread the word to our friends.
Great place.
N. a. M.
Nice place to visit.. cafe and outdoor area great field for children
D. M.
I've visited the Hilltop Nursery several times over the last couple of weeks as we are redesigning our back garden. The staff have been extremely helpful and informative and I would like to express my thanks to Kevin and Grant, the managers, for their help, patience and understanding. Kevin even gave me the loan of a staple gun to
help with part of the project, I felt this was a very nice gesture indeed. I will certainly be returning there for future projects.
J. L.
Had lunch but it was disappointing.
Fantastic Xmas decs.
J. K.
Stopped off for a breakfast very nice can recommend
M. L.
Always spend more than really should . Such high quantity goods and the plants are well looked after. Highly recommend to any . Go see for yourselfs
D.
Parking can be abit tight they need to widen the spaces. On the sweets they sell are way overpriced. I usually go as the food is nice there you can sit in. It's a nice place to walk around everything has gone up in price. There is a huge empty area at the back where it's just got lawn they need to do something with it.
L. B.
Always great to support this family run independent business. Visited in Tier 4 restrictions and the cafe is closed but the park and garden centre is open and the Christmas decorations were being packed away or heavily discounted. It was very quiet for a Saturday morning as I guess most people think it "non-essential" and not open. Pricing always seems fair to me.
L. B.
Great place very busy clean toilets great cafe area friendly helpful staff a lovely garden centre always enjoy going there with mum.
J. V.
Love this place, plants are lovely and not too pricey!
J. P.
Having just acquired a disabled badge I was hopeful that it would be helpful here. Unfortunately they are operating a one way system so there were no parking spaces near the in door. I can walk a little but it was too far so ended up in my wheelchair across a very bumpy carpark. It was absolutely freezing and not ideal to be sitting in there when it was so crowded inside. On the positive side there is a lovely selection of Christmas things and prices were not too bad either.
D. C.
Went for lunch and I was quite disappointed with the fish, the coffee was also very poor.
My wife enjoyed her food so maybe just an off day.
t. k.
Great Christmas display. Great cafe
S. B.
Mainly went to meet a friend and have a coffee, but the garden centre has lots of lovely flowers and reasonable prices too.
N. H.
First visit and it was pouring down with rain but it was still lovely walking around. 4 stars only because we were looking for pond plants and no one around to help. Its a big place to try and find help! Had a really good breakfast, the only downside was the coffee. They really need to select a better brand. We will def go back though as it is so beautiful there with an amazing choice of plants, (but we will have our coffees some place else though....)
S. C.
I love the merchandise on offer here. The garden section is good and now the aquatic department to enjoy as well. We visit many times a year and spend a lot of money here . I have always been disappointed at the till no smiles just scan scan scan and money taken and that's it. This time a smile a little communication and have a nice afternoon. So I felt my custom had been appreciated and this is so much nicer as I do love the place
r. r.
we called yesterday for our dinner and carrot which is usually a big treat, when going to order the young boy said with out a smile havent got any, so i asked knowing it was late what have you got left , again no face change he said we havent got da da da, so i looked at the menue and said we will take the cake home then so asked for the cake he went to put on plates so i said can we have it in a box to take away, again no change of face, paid ,the cake like the man was not up to the usual standard, quiet dry and no feeling on the palate, so sad as coming out of lockdown for us.
L. M.
Just setting up for Christmas but we got a bargain water feature.
S. F.
Went early to avoid the crowds. Was able to buy some compodt and barrel flower pots. Recommend
S. B.
Very good coming back up for Christmas decs!
D. S.
Living locally I’ve been here many times and never been disappointed, until now purchased an expensive (to me) gazebo.
Put the frame up and unwrapped the curtains to find the bug nets that were advertised on the website picture were not included!
Contacted the company and told they weren’t included and picture was wrong!!
Not a happy bunny!!!
A week later and the picture is still up on the website.
S. C.
Very helpful staff. They moved a heavy statue to my car and bypassed the queue do mum did not have to stand for too long. A full range of garden ornaments. Family friendly.
D. C.
Good food, good prices. Plenty of choice and all freshly cooked. Staff in the restaurant and in the garden centre are all friendly and helpful.
Lots to look at and of course to buy. Good quality plants and planting g requirements.
The children's play area is excellent.
Highly recommend a visit!
D. M.
Lovely garden centre. Superbly stocked with plants and gift ideas. Plus a lovely little coffee shop
Went again today, and boy has it expanded. Sorry dobbies but hilltop is far better. And the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Can't praise them enough
S. A.
Lovely garden centre any time of the year, there is always such a wide choice of plants. They always have a spectacular display of Christmas decorations, lights etc. Definitely recommend a visit 🙂
S. S.
Love this place very friendly helpful staff good choice and items in the shop. Very knowledgeable about plants. Nice toilets I can't rate the food as I haven't eaten there but it does look yummy.
It's a must to go at Christmas it's gives you a proper Christmas felling. Five stars from me.
J. F.
This place literally began in someone's back garden and has grown to be a very useful resource for all things garden. They have a good selection of fencing, garden furniture, tools and naturally lots of plants. Mostly easy to get around but some outdoor plant areas might be a bit tight in a wheelchair. Inside they have an aquatic section and what I call the tunnel of fountains. Thankfully the conveniences are at the end.
Lockdown permitting (that will date this review) they have a good cafe as well.
Good sized car park as well.
A. B.
Great garden centre with a large selection of everything. Very helpful staff will take the time to assist. Great cafe serving all variety of good home made food at good prices.
Nice aquatics section and decent tools too.
I went for stoneware this visit which I was struggling to find elsewhere.
K. B.
I bought a trolley full of products, compost, bark and plants. Got to the checkout and was pleasantly surprised with the discounts. I had to search for strong looking plants and they had a good selection of what I went for. I'll be coming back.
E. A.
Found the ideal Ratten dining table and chairs at a very competitive price
And will be going back to get plants for the garden.
Another couple we met at another garden centre earlier in the day also brought the very same dining set that we recommended to them that very same day
Sorry folks last 2
But I'm sure they must be getting more
Excellent value
S. C.
I have used Hilltop Garden Centre for a number of years and have always found their service to be excellent. Things are a little different at the moment because of Covid 19 restrictions but there is still a good range of plants and other gardening equipment and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this business for anything to do with gardening.
S. M.
The visit was amazing. The Christmas display was ace, I didn't want to leave. I have made a few purchases and will be back soon hopefully. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Also, the smell of scents is beautiful. Thank you for a lovely trip.
R. D.
Wonderful staff, beautiful selection of plants. All for good prices.
A.
Lovely Garden Centre. Wide range of products. Quality Cafe, friendly efficient staff and delicious food. Definately will return. Thanks for enjoyable visit.
C. D.
Very great place to go. Its quite a big place, wonderful to go to when it has lots of Christmas decorations up that you can by. Food at the cafe smelled delicious but I don't buy any and the aquatics area has lots of different fish. All different plants outside and outdoor furniture. Will definitely be going again soon. 5 stars.
M. W.
Lovely Christmas display. Wide choice of plants all at very good prices. Safe well layed out garden centre. Very nice cafe. Great choice of meals, snacks and cakes in a nice clean environment
M. A.
Never been before. Will return for a more in depth look. Plants looked healthy, had a scone in cafe...overpriced compared to main meals at 4 quid.
P. W.
Having just started our first Aquarium.
Went along to Hill Top Garden Centre Aquarium Department. First met a gentleman we believe is Steve.
Very knowledgeable and not pushy.
Appreciated the help and advice. Now have a great looking Aquarium.
Thanks.
R. L.
Possibly the best garden centre within 20mile of Lutterworth.
We had not been since lockdown and they have changed it around and for the better. Easy access for everyone.
Very pleasant staff and excellent service.
T. J.
There are always a wide variety of plants and garden furniture to choose from. Very well laid out and easy to get around. Great place to go for whether you are looking to stock the garden or just browse, there is cafe with a good selection of food and cakes. Can get busy on a Sunday, would recommend a visit
M. T.
Service by all staff at Hilltop were very helpful, would recommend highly. They helped me out today when I need a new sofa set ASAP, when I realised it wouldn't fit in my car without hesitation they offered to deliver today for me. Brilliant service.
L. L.
Good choice of outdoor plants, slightly limited choice of indoor plants. Fantastic choice of Christmas decorations and displays and lovely to take small children to see, sadly on each of the three occasions I have visited in the last four months I have found staff to be very rude and unhelpful, been ignored whilst standing waiting at the counter while staff continue their own personal conversation, having to hear staff swearing and complaining about other staff and being told the tills have been switched off 10 minutes before closing but I 'can pay cash but can't be given any change'.
I won't be returning.
G. R.
Nice choice of plants, staff always willing to help and explain whats best for where in the garden too. We'll worth a visit.
M.
Lovely garden centre with a huge range of products. Great variety of plants from bedding to shrubs to topiaries. Plenty of choices for good affordable compost. Incredible selection of pots. Definitely recommend!
N. L.
Great selection of garden furniture, plants & flowers. Such a quality place to visit with everything well priced too. Enjoyed a nice piece of cake with a cup of tea at the coffee shop and the staff are all very helpful. The new play area was also a hit with the kids. A great place to visit all year round especially Christmas time when the place is magical.
T.
Cheap Christmas stuff which is good but the guy working on the tills needs some Christmas cheer and stop being rude to paying customers. (just to confirm, we wasn't wearing a uniform so I assume owner or manager)
Orherwise the rest of the girls working there (in uniform) were helpful and friendly.
L. O.
Beautiful place. Lovely helpful staff.
Healthy fresh plants. Thought they'd be cheaper though. Definately worth it.
P. E.
Very nice garden centre. Good choice of plants and garden items. Good coffee shop and snacks. Thanks.
S. S.
Love visiting this place plenty to see well set out.a little expensive for me but gives my eyes a treat.
M. P.
One of the best garden centre we have been too. Shame we where just passing through. When ever we travel we find the Garden Centre nearest to have a break.
P. B.
Good private run garden centre with a very good resturant/cafe.
J. H.
Nice selection of out door and indoor plants. Brilliant out door lighting. Nice café. Etc. I would definitely recommend a visit, there is also a play area for children 😀
M. A.
First time visiting and wow so much stuff and great prices it was so good spent over £400 on first visit. Definitely going back again plus it has a very good cafe 😊
A.
Amazing plants, garden ornaments, furniture and garden accessories. Beautiful cards and presents for all ages. Fish, tanks and supplies. Lovely cafe, vwhen open. Extremely popular place. Well worth a visit.
J. D.
We visited with a gardening question which was answered with their usual efficiency. The answer clearly explained which hopefully will solve our problem. The shop area looked very tired as the Christmas goods were being disposed of in a sale. The cafe was stocked and busy. The toilets were very clean. Well worth visiting in the growing season.
H. K.
Amazing place, love all the displays. Everything garden this place has it
G. C.
Lovely Sunday morning drive to hilltop centre ; didn't really go for anything particular but it was like Santa's grotto needless to say came back with a few items 😊
L. H.
What a super selection of Christmas decorations and a lot are half price! Big outdoor garden centre with indoor and outdoor plants at very reasonable prices. Cafe with lovely homemade food. Father Christmas grotto for the children at weekends. Go here quite a lot as can always find a unique gift for everyone.
R. W. (.
Good garden center with most of what you'd need for just tidying up the garden or doing a biggish job. They have their Christmas display up and always so very beautiful and puts you in the mood. Was a tad overcrowded but all wearing masks so theres that at least.
J. H.
A medium sized garden centre offering good quality plants. Indoors are gifts, an aquarium, greetings cards. In the summer there are water features and from October to December a wide range of Christmas decorations. Prices are on the high side. They have a small cafe. Getting around in a wheelchair can be tricky but not impossible.
d. s.
A lovely garden centre. Just want to say a big thank you for arranging a replacement part for an awning we bought. The staff always rang back when they said they would. They kept us informed and nothing was too much for them. Thank you for all your help and the personal touch
j. j.
Good deal on a gazebo seen at 1600 pounds got it for 999 complet with net and cloth curtains
M. T. d.
Hilltop Garden Centre is a fantastic garden centre that has existed for years. It sells most things that you will need for your garden. They also have a wonderful cafe-restaurant with a wide choice menu. There is a play area for children too. There is a large car park here with disabled spaces nearest the building. You happily spent some time here and relax.
R. B.
hi. just visited the garden centre, bought some plants but wow!!! your Christmas shop is absolutely brilliant. I think its the best so far. Lots of hard work and thought has gone into it. Well done, will be visiting again soon with grandchildren.
G. G.
Great range of plants. Good prices. Love the animal statues.
A. H.
Wonderful place. It has a cafe that does a great tasty breakfast. The shop is full of wonderful items even pretty gifts, ornaments and there is a huge selection of plants. At christmas the shop turns into a magical grotto.
T. M.
Great selection of a wide variety of plants. The plants were healthy and good quality.
B. R.
Good variety of plants, garden furniture and ornamental. Gas a very good cafe which does lovely big slices of cake as well as hot food, lots of areas to sit and eat.play ground outside at the back. Also a very good aquatic shop with lots of healthy fish with a very knowledgeable assistant.
J. S.
Couldn't believe how helpful the guys outside helped my husband and myself with the big trolley to the car with our wood purchases, thank you so much.
R. J.
Great garden centre one of my favourite places to go bit pricey though
D. G.
A very good independent family owned garden centre. Good quality plants at reasonable prices. Nice cafe but a little expensive.
G. M.
Really excellent quality and choice of plants. Nicely laid out, aquatic section, café food above garden centre average. Best centre we have been to. Worth a visit.
A. M.
Very friendly staff. Plants are not overpriced like most Garden Centre's. Nice Cafè/Restaurant. The quality of the plants and of the setting perfect........if l have one tiny moan is that in the restaurant l had a lovely cup of latte while the wife had a pot of tea which unfortunately came with those little until milk cartons. It put her right off. A few small milk jugs would make all the difference. Anyway highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed
D. M.
Great garden centre with everything you need. The water features are particularly fab as is the new kids playground. Cafe is excellent too with friendly staff and huge cakes! Will definitely visit again soon 😊
G. M.
Clean neat a tidy. Good selection of plants. Staff helpful. They have some Christmas stock available.
T.
Very cute garden centre in the countryside. Has lots of plants, flowers, furniture, pet food, aquariums and general garden knick-knacks. Staff are very polite and friendly as well as knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come again. Very pleasant experience!
K. K.
Visited hilltop this morning love it there picked up daff bulbs in pots n Heather staff very helpfull had a latte before we left xxx
s. c.
Love this place cant fault the variety of plants and prices are affordable, they also have a large extensive range of all outside garden requirements eg.fencing ..stones..stone ornaments ..furniture..and fancy goods.
The cafe area is so relaxing and inexpensive.
I personally bought a pampas plant which was large for £7.99..cheap!!!
Hilltop also has a great variety of fish and accessories ..
L. T.
My favourite garden centre, very friendly family run. Plants are very healthy and well looked after. Cafe is great, good food, reasonably priced. Beautiful grounds and smashing play area for the kids.
H. B.
Lovely place with plenty of selection.. bigger than we expected. Can easily spend a couple of hours looking around. Good quality plants too.
S. W.
Very well adapted to meet covid social distancing rules. Plenty of space to shop without feeling crowded.
Reasonable prices and a good selection of plants and pots.
R. B.
Hilltop has done a brilliant job of keeping gardening supplies available during lockdown. So pleased to see you are keeping click and collect for the vulnerable. Can't wait to visit the garden centre- with the added bonus of the cafe in store ' takeaways'!
L. H.
Wow wow wow what a fantastic xmas display! Have to see it to believe it -so beautiful so festive it really needs a visit. Ample parking etc great to see all. This garden centre is great all year round of course always plenty to see gifts ornaments and of course all the natural plants and trees
s. h.
Always got what we want at a good price
M. L.
Great selection of plants and shubs staff were very helpful and friendly, and not bad pricing for a garden centre, it was nice and clean and very organized will definitely visit again
D. R.
Lovely cafe, wide range if good quality plants and other garden supplies.
Well worth a visit.
K. J.
Great selection of plants and stubs and all very healthy looking. Nice cafe where you can enjoy some food before just popping back to grab that plant you could not quite make your mind up on.
K. E.
A wonderful shopping and mooching experience. Warm welcome and family run environment. Plants and products very superior. Would highly recommend.
G. H.
Perfectly layed out plants and centre a little on the expensive side but that's of unusual things to purchase.
S. M.
Hilltop is a good garden centre which has a lot of things that alot of other big garden centres don't have... probably because it's a family business. It has an excellent choice of plants and equipment. My problem is that the staff don't come across as all that happy or even very friendly. It does make a difference if the person serving is pleasant towards the customer.
D. K.
I've visited Hilltop a few times for my plants which are good quality; the cafe offers a good tasty breakfast for a decent price. The only complaint I would have is the difficulty to get in the entrance and around the store with the garden trolleys if they are busy – I visited yesterday (5/5/13) and observed a pensioner struggling to manure their trolley through the busy entrance, accidentally knocking a lower shelf which really could do with moving, serving staff didn't help with making loud comments and no offers of help. (A bit of customer service training needed me thinks)
A. K.
What a place! Independently owned must visit.
D. L.
Great nursery. Has loads of plants to choose from and good quality.
J. P.
My wife and I regularly visit Hilltops. Why? Because it is family owned, their prices are competitive and their products always look healthier than can be found in many chain owned garden centres. They also serve excellent coffee.
J. K.
An absolutely fantastic garden centre; the plants were healthy and reasonably priced and the lunch ... WOW! We had lasagne and liver /onions (separate dishes!) And we couldn't fault it. It is now my favourite garden centre!
C. L.
First time visiting here, the Christmas display was lovely. The park was great for the kids too.
The only thing was I didn't notice any sanitiser around.
K. C.
Still love the Garden Centre, but the cafe isn't so good. Twice recently I've had stale cake. Won't be going back to the cafe
L. H.
My visit to you in September:
Sozoz guys the veggie burger was awful but the lemon roulade was totally delicious and your plants were phenomenally healthy. thanks
28.11.18
The Christmas decorations display is superb the best I've seen across the area the egg mayonnaise and salad was superb followed by the lemon drizzle and a cappuccino we were both very pleased
g. g.
Nice place for a day out.
Large carpark
Indoor and outdoor
Play area for children pritty large 2.
Staff friendly and helpfull
Food avaliable and very nice.
A large selection of mouth watering cakes at resonable price.
I meet a nice lady there who qued up with us for 15/20 mins who only wanted a cup off tea. Think that needs to be addresed. Maybe let people know they can ask staff for a drink or self serve free tea n coffee once ordered there food. Just a thought.
Other than that food top marks
J. S.
Lovely mini breakfast. Always enjoy my visits friendly staff and a huge variety of well kept flora & fauna to browse.
R. S. A.
I normally like to take pics to share but the place was just too busy. The aquatic section was quite cool. There is a lot in there. Too much for such a small space. They could use some traffic Marshalls too. The parking area was chaotic.
D. L.
We have always found what we want at Hilltop. The plants are always good quality and the staff very helpful. It isn't the cheapest place to buy from but paying a little bit more is better than having half dead plants for less.
J. W.
Good selection of plants and flowers, well priced too. Lovely coffee shop. Nice new play area for young children. Very helpful staff.
C. W.
Excellent choice of merchandise. Cafe was good at ensuring social distancing and we had waitress service. The cream tea and cheese scone were delicious
D. J.
Lovely place. Large selection of plants and shrubs everything you need for the garden and more.. Cafe is excellent, staff are helpful and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.
J. W.
Small (compared to the big centres) but a wide range of good quality products - they are currently re-organising some of the space as they usually have wonderful Christmas displays. Plants, aquatics, furniture, cards and more - plus a great café.
J. W.
Very well stocked with plug plants. Lovely cafe.
M. E.
Nice independent garden centre. It's hugely popular. Pay them a visit to discover why (because you"re worth it). The stock is always changing, so if you see something you like, buy it.
E. M.
Love this garden centre. Plenty of choice can always get what I want here prices good. Staff always polite and helpful. Lovely Christmas display.
M. G.
Good selection of plants shrubs tools indoor area, of silk flowers, fancy goods, cards, garden furniture, water features, and a very nice cafe, also not forgetting the newish aquatic area. Quite a large free car park.

R. C.
Always a good selection of merchandise plants in my experience I've always been a very high standard Christmas decorations and displays are excellent the only thing that lets it down a little bit is the Checkout staff which is a shame really because other than that it's a very nice experience
S. H.
Like a good pub, I'm a regular. Been going here for 20 years. Helpful, friendly, good value.
I. P.
Great little local garden centre with a wide variety of stock & outdoor plants.

J. P.
What AMAZING service and quality of garden furniture! I cannot recommend this company highly enough, Kev was brilliant - he sorted out everything that we wanted and needed, arranged all the delivery and all my beautiful purchases were in my garden that afternoon, great service, great customer care, great value for money .... THANK YOU!

C. P.
Went to see Christmas decorations, and was not disappointed. Fantastic display and awesome amout of choice.
D. 1.
I visited this morning, Unlike most of the garden centres I have visited this year from London to Yorkshire, Hilltop stands out. It stands out because I could still buy a very wide range of plants which others have 'shelved' for the season.
It stands out because it has such a comprehensive range of plants, is well stocked and all the plants look healthy and cared for. The pricing is competitive too.
Hilltop is a little gem, having survived the supermarkets and DIY stores which have laid waste to many garden centres, it has retained it's atmosphere of care - you feel the plants matter and are cared for.
It is one of the few places locally where you can actually speak to an employee who can help with gardening queries and, if they can't, they know who to ask.
well done Hilltop
B. L.
On the ocassion of my visit, the garden centre gave more of an impression it was closing down! Empty shelves and displays being dismantled. Gone was the excitibg atmosphere I had always experienced previously! This state of disarray may be due to restocking ready for Spring/Summer but I think it will be awhile before I waste fuel on another visit! When other such places manage tge transition without making you feel unwelcome as a customer!
M. B.
This is my go to place for Christmas ideas, their displays are fantastic and it's fun for the kids to explore while me and my wife get decoration ideas. The cafe here is great too.
A. W. C.
Very well stocked garden centre; from hard landscaping materials to a whole world of plants which are all arranged in sections. Also has a very good aquarium section with a huge variety to choose from.
s. j.
Big variety ,a bit pricy
M. H.
Nice place to visit for your plants also have a cup of tea and a piece of cake
J. J.
Good range of trees and plants, as well as an aquatic centre, and the inevitable cafe. But the plants side is well run, and they have an extraordinary range of mature olive trees, so worth a visit.
D. H.
First time visiting, enjoyed the experience and thought the prices were very reasonable. Much better than the Dobbies we normally use.
j. w.
Great service, very knowledgeable in all areas, even stopped for a quick bite to eat! superb and great value compared to some of the big chains! A family run business clearly makes the difference.
M. B.

Nothing special... It's a garden centre with a stereotypical garden centre generic cafe.
