Reviews of Derby Garden Centre
P. S.
Great selection of items, staff present to assist if needed.
We ate at the cafe/restaurant, had issue with the order, but staff extremely professional, understanding and helpful in rectifying once identified. Will definitely return.
A. G.
Good selection of plants with some reasonable reductions. X2 large herb planters £5 each.
Queues for the tills quite long but well managed, staff on tills really helpfull.
R. C.
It a great place to visit with beautifull items in every departments. The staff very friendly and helpful they go out of they way to help you. Will be back soon. Also great prices.
p. g.
I visited the centre first time, very impressed with the variety of plants available. I made 2 purchases today and intend to make more in coming days. The garden centre is well maintain, prices are competitive and has a huge range to choose from.
S. L.
Unfortunately as a wheelchair user the experience wasn't good. The aisles were often crowded with items in the way which meant that I couldn't get to items that I wanted and I had to get someone to bring me a selection to choose from.
The birds that I could get to seemed good and the staff were lovely.
B. E.
Generally quite good selling an interesting selection of indoor and outdoor plants including some impressive specimen plants. They also have a wide range of indoor and outdoor pots, garden ornaments, some really nice garden furniture and BBQs
They also sell kitchenware and homeware items, clothing, books, toys, candles, soap, food and drink...in fact there's probably more of this than actual plants.
The restaurant is pretty nice with a good selection of hot and cold food, cakes, and hot and cold drinks; unfortunately due to COVID restrictions it's 100% table service.. which was slow and somewhat unorganised (we waited 20 minutes just to order, I think they forgot us as customers who came in after us were served before us 🤔).
Unfortunately the biggest issue is the pricing of stuff, it's really quite expensive, both the restaurant and garden centre itself. That's justified if the quality is superb, with some items it is, noticeably the furniture; however, other items are no better than another shop selling the same item for a lot less.
Worth visiting and having a look around but you may be disappointed.
K. R.
Well stocked and run garden centre with some competitive prices. Restaurant is a dream, had roast dinner which is one of the best I have had this year and it was hot, followed by fruit crumble and custard which was to die for, lovely. Well organised as well, yes you may have to wait a little time but that's because it's popular perhaps due to quality, excellent
K. S.
Definitely one of my favourite garden centres. So much to look at inside and out, they always seem to have exactly what I want too. Cafe is really good and have good vegan options, not many places bother but they have thought of everything
J. S.
Great plants, lots of choice. Cafe very changed, has a different feel to it. Table service, expensive, no children's area now.
B. F.
We came here on a Saturday it was extremely busy however the covid measures were still upheld with the odd spacing or two. Christmas decorations in this center are the best we've seen so far and we're definitely visiting this place again before Christmas. Would recommend for a day out and Christmas bits and bobs!
D. P.
Great garden centre with a massive selection of products on display. Usual stuff you would expect plus a few bits you may not. A hot tub shop and a lovely little produce place are located out the back in the outside area. There is a big cafe in the main area and a pet shop in there as well. So much stuff to look at - far too much to list but I would say it’s definitely worth a visit if you have some spare time to check it out. On the downside it is a little bit pricey and can get really busy, especially at peak times. The car park is not the best and it can be frustrating trying to find a space sometimes.
However, it is well worth the trouble.
J. J.
Great choice of plants, I was very impressed how helpful staff were especially Gemma who worked with us patiently and helped us enormously . She was very friendly, polite and saved so much of our time as she has vast knowledge about the plants . She is a real asset to the team.
J. N.
This is a nice garden centre but if you dare to ask for just tap water with your expensive meal (I was buying fish and chips) you will basically be given a glass that's not much bigger than a thimble. They are definitely making a point, but I would be embarrassed to give anyone that.
M. F.
While it's a nice place ,the things we found as taking someone elderly ,were the Isles are too narrow inplaces to be able to walk side by side, the cafe is along way into the garden centre, so would be nice to have a resting point along the way ( ie,a bench ) as the majority ( that we seen) were elderly and could probably do with a quick rest ,which would of been helpful .The cafe itself is nice, but the prices are very expensive,i would suggest eating before going ,plus on entering the cafe ,the staff are behind a wall, including the lady who seated us ,which I had to go and tell her which table we were already sat at,as there are signs on the table informing people 'please let a member of staff know, before sitting at entrance tables ' so the lady would be better placed at the cafe entrance ,but on saying that all the staff are very nice and helpful.
R. H.
Good to go back and have a meal. Very well organized and made to feel safe. Garden center and Christmas decorations well laid out.
Back to day (5-5-22) Cafe had some changes to meet current conditions and you can still feel safe. Many people going for a meal hence quite a wait but very good quality food.
L. H.
Great garden centre. Helpful staff lovely restaurant, table service very clean and airy. Look forward to visits here.
J. L.
A well stocked and popular Garden Centre. Spacious and pleasant to wander around. Good variety of plants and some nice gift choices. A great children’s section with crafts and lovely books. A nice clothes and shoes area with some decent pieces .Wheel chair friendly and a big car park. Staff are helpful and concerned.
C. P.
Great range of products. Purchased some solar lights, a bird feeder and a plant growing kit with some gift vouchers that were bought for us as a wedding gift .
S. N.
Lovely 'social distancing' visit today. No queue and pleasant/relaxed staff. Most shoppers compliant with rules. No stress and didn't feel rushed. Queued to pay but line reduced quickly. Pleasant cashier.
R. S.
Really nice, plenty of well looked after plants and a wide variety from plants, toys , clothes to fresh food and beer , really good day out
L. W.
Nice enough garden centre, dog tolerant everywhere other than inside the cafe, but there is a nice outside seating area for dog owners.
k. r.
A great garden centre. Lovely selection of house plants 🪴
s. m.
It's pretty good, usually have a mooch round as we make our way to the deli.
A. O.
I was looking for garden furniture. I found a lovely one. The assistant was very helpful, she got in touch with a garden centre nearer my home with free delivery.
R. B.
Do like Blue Diamond garden centres but, they are all very much same stock everywhere more or less, I guess I am spoilt at having been to Trentham which seems to have more than the others. Also stock is same for last couple of years, could be freshened up a little? I guess the swap from Christmas stock affects things too. Very bare parts due to swap over.
Staff in the restaurant were really friendly and helpful, 10/10 there.
R. C.
Easy parking, all your gardening needs in one place, also a place to have something to eat.
P. T.
Really nice place to spend a bit of time looking for some garden nik naks.... We went in to have a walk around and came away with some garden furniture which was on sale! Staff were really nice and helpful 👍
j. s.
Was recommended to me so visited a week ago and I wasn’t disappointed. Has so much to offer, friendly helpful staff and the restaurant was fabulous. Will definitely be visiting again.
V. S.
Great selection of goods not just plants. Cafe excellent & staff very helpful for our group of visually impaired clients.
G. R.
Lovely garden centre always busy ..great cherry scones .
C. L.
Staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the cake which looked yummy was dry and tasteless, so all three of us had to leave it!
D. B.
Okay, had breakfast at the restaurant. Food was standard and service fast. Affordable. Nice for a few hours out.
s. k.
As usual, great choice of plants and plenty of good advice available from the staff.
The sausage cob for breakfast is always the excuse to pop in as well
K. A.
Amazing selection indoor & outdoor plants! My new favourite garden centre!
M. H.
Love this garden center. It's huge and got everything you could possibly need , plants, soil, gravel, stones, in and outdoor furniture, you name it.
S. G.
Delicious breakfast in the café. Has a great deli shop. Lots of gift ideas and plant selection.
j. w.
Lovely place with plenty of choice. Staff are polite and keen to help. Carrot cake from the cafe is lush. We visit often.
A. E.
Loved it . Lots of nice things to buy of good quality. Had a breakfast while visiting was top class
L. H.
Excellent place and reasonably priced with excellent food
S. E.
We have only visited your centre a couple of times before and each time we have been happy with products. Though we do find some of your products a little dearer than other outlets.
We had a break at your restaurant for just coffee and cheese scone each and they were delicious, best savoury scones we ever eaten..
Thank you
Service was excellent and staff very polite and helpful all around store
p.
Its an amazing place to visit. The centre has a beautiful collection of flower ( which are shown in the pictures ) They also have a lovely café .❤️
A. J.
Was absolutely packed with people, most of whom were not wearing masks and it was impossible to distance yourself from them. Couldn't really get a good look at the place because from people pushing you and blocking your view of things. Need to find a quiet time to go rather than a Saturday afternoon to assess the centre properly.
G. J.
Good selection of products for garden and home as well as clothing and footwear, friendly helpful staff
T. B.
A great selection of plants and garden supplies. Very good quality but a bit on the expensive side.
D. C.
Haven't been to this garden centre for years. It did not dissapoint me it was fabulous with Christmas baubles and gifts soft toys. Had lunch in the Restaurant which was very clean and pleasant, staff were lovely. Got all my Christmas gifts so i was really pleased. Its a Alice in Wonderland Store, staff were so nice and friendly.
P. P. T.
So much to see here. Great range of plants and flowers. There is something for everyone. Clothes and toy department. Restaurant is lovely, menu is extensive and ranges from breakfast through to evening meals. Lots of delicious cakes. Prices are affordable. Free Parking with lots of space.
B. W.
Very well set out, a wonderful place to eat and plenty to browse.
C. E.
Lovely garden centre so full of everything you would ever need. The Christmas decorations were presented fabulously, their bulb section is something to behold, I was just dissatisfied with their offering of pansies which looked weak and small unlike the strong large ones I bought at another garden centre earlier in the week.
K. B.
Brilliant garden centre, plants are well tended too by the gardening staff. We'll done.
K. S.
Lovely place a really nice man looked after us in the garden shop..
The only thing we said t like was the prices for the restaurant..very over priced.
D. G.
Fantastic sale and always unusual things nice lunch as well but wish they didn't put crisps on the plate
L. V.
Have visited this garden centre many times over the years, has a good selection of plants and other goods , however, after a visit today with friends had to give 3 stars. My friend saw a box containg rattan boxes lit up to look like xmas presents. A large sign in front said reduced from £39.99 down to £19.99, interested she lifted the box down, there was a price tag on it of £60, to make sure it was reduced she asked an assistant for help after a while she came back and said it was £75 !, no explanation so totally misleading and confusing, needless to say she left it.
A. S.
Singing penguins, a beautiful Christmas tableaux, many amazing displays, this place has it all and then more. An artisan food shop? Sure. A quaint cafe? Absolutely. This place is an amazing find to take some time out of a busy day and relax, while restocking your garden with some vibrant blooms.
s. b.
Absolutely love this place staff always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble always lots of offers Can't wait till my next visit.
T. J. B.
Very good changing from Xmas stock to spring stock we picked up some Xmas bargains in the sale I would have given them 5 star's but the price's in the cafeteria are a bit pricey
K. W.
Nice range and variety of items for both home and Garden, just found to be a little pricy.
A. S.
We've been going to Derby Garden Centre about once every other month for about 10 years since we had our first son! It's a good size, everything well spaced out and in sensible places, and generally most things we want it has. They handled the COVID lockdown period very well. Access is good for prams, buggies, wheelchairs etc and has clean facilities. Also the cafe is nice and has a good selection of food and drinks (the cafe does feel a little on the expensive side, but I think they all do these days so maybe that's just me). It's a nice place to go either for your gardening stuff or frankly just to wander round for an hour or so.
J. F.
Huge garden centre with everything you could want for your gardening needs, can be pricey but the products and plants are decent quality.
S. T.
Customer service is excellent
The lady who helped me out with trolley was so friendly she made my day even made my son laugh 😅 he was waiting in the car
Love this garden centre.
Ladies on checkout were so helpful and friendly
The staff make the experience so pleasant.
T.
Quaint garden centre. Great cafe. Free parking.
Be aware for the turn into the garden centre, can be hard to spot.
K. N.
Good but half an hour wait in coffee shop for coffee alone that's without food didn't stay.
R. S.
It's a Blue Diamond garden centre, well run, friendly and helpful staff. We'll stocked with plants, lighting, homeware & ladies clothing.
m. c.
First time visit to this lovely garden centre, had a very tasty breakfast in the beautiful cafe and a wonder round all the gifts that are on offer. I will definately be returning to have a look around the christmas items x
C. W.
As you would expect from Blue Diamond.
Plants are well looked after, lots of choice and easy to get round.
G. F.
The garden centre is lovely , clean and tidy and all staff go out if the way to ensure social distancing rules are adhered to.
Only criticism is the service in the cafe was very slow and my husbands scone had to be sent back twice. We’ve never had a bad experience in the cafe before so we were happy to chalk it down as a one off
c. f.
Love this place, items are all very competitive prices, lovely cafe, friendly staff, clean toilets
Y. W.
What a wonderful garden centre. Beautiful selection of plants. Wonderful restaurant/cafe. Very generous servings. Amazing selection of gifts. Gin section caught our attention! Clothing lovely. Will return to this little gem.
C. C.
Large garden centre with good selection of plants and diverse goods.
On site cafe serves good food and caters for food intolerance.
M. S.
Flower’s always in good shape! Staff pleasant and helpful
I. G.
The best garden centre we ever visited. Wow, so amazing!
E. R.
Good range of things to see but expensive. Food very expensive compared to other local places.
D. B.
At the cafe the food was okay but extremely over priced. A 'light breakfast' was £8 when the contents of the plate costed around £3. The food was overcooked and could be described as tough. The staff were also awkward about ordering and when talking to some of the more elderly customers they were rude and uncompromising. Could have been a much better experience if the prices had been lower, then I would not have minded as much. Now let's end on some positives; beautiful plants at reasonable prices and delicious chocolate gateau cake.
S. C.
Excellent visit. Needed a couple of baubles for the Christmas tree. Excellent Christmas display, spoilt for choice. There is also a superb farm shop on site with excellent cakes and other foodstuffs.
N. R.
Not on a par with the one at East Bridgford... Too much crammed on top of each other and very little space to get passed people especially during these Covid times.
T.
Always the go to place when need good plants. Seasonal sale on just now and alot of lines thinning out ready for the new season. Worth a visit, slightly more expensive than some garden centres but worth it as products are better.
I. W.
I have been to derby garden centre on many occasions due to my wife who adores brown and green the artisan food store at the back of the centre. last week we called in after around a year due to illness and what a difference to the store inside its never looked so good. we were served by Trevor both on the deli and till very polite and professional as always. he is a credit to the company.!
J. A.
Great garden centre, cafe and farm shop on site, hot tub shop and displays that change on the seasons. Amazing array of Christmas decorations and goods.
E. H.
Such a lovely garden centre. Brilliant selection of outdoor and indoor plants and lots of decor, pet, home and garden things too! Love visiting here, friendly staff also.
S. L.
Lovely but you need deep pockets.
D. W.
Loved it be careful you can spend a lot of money here
E. W.
Absolutely a huge place. Good wander round. Lovely products. From pots to pocket money section. The cafe looks fab too. Lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
R. B.
Beautiful garden centre and shop. Bought lots of birthday presents 🎁
J. Y.
Just seems so expensive and is a maze to get through the merchandise just to buy some garden plants. Once you have got what you want it's another onslaught of merchandising before you get to pay and exit.
Would have given one star but the staff were very friendly and helpful so 2 more for that.
T. S.
Easy to get to, just off the A38, fair sized car park, wonderful selection of Christmas decorations, beautifully set out. Cafe, nice food but very expensive.
s. b.
Its very good for plants find it reasonable. The cafe was expensive £15 for a dinner.
L. A.
You can find anything you need and more.
Very joyful atmosphere, despite the time🙃
D. B.
Staff are helpful. Good variety of plants and garden equipment.
P. D.
Normally very good. Christmas was the best in the area. Went yesterday not much in at all
G. A. (.
Really nice garden centre didn't see much of the plants because it's not really the season, the Christmas decorations are on the pricey side and some were glued in 'a hurry' 🤫
F. R.
Very helpful staff - a member of staff noticed that I was struggling with the garden canes on my trolley and took them to the counter for me to collect after I had finished shopping. The same staff member then put three bags of compost and the rest of my shopping in the car for me. So great service!
B.
Got exactly what I needed and more. Went in for lawn feed, ended up with plants, long handled trowel, bird feeder and more. During these testing times it felt great for a new 'normal'. Staff lovely and knowledgeable. Excellent selection my ho to garden centre.
G. “. S.
Lovely garden centre with great cafe
Visited today with a group & got told not to return!!
Have been going for years in the afternoon with the same group with no problems! We tried a morning this time!
The manager seemed to have got us confused with a different group!!
Scone was dry too!! Hardly any fruit in it!
We shall not be returning, we will take out custom elsewhere!
Their loss!!
K. P.
Always enjoy a visit here, cake and a cuppa too, forgot how big the slices of cake were 😅 staff always lovely and friendly 🥰
P.
I love garden centres. A great place to have a coffee and cake in a relaxing setting surrounded by flowers and plants.
However, unfortunately the Derby Garden Centre is down a couple of stars from me due to its extortionate prices. Over £8 for a coffee and cake.
C. H.
We go every year to visit Santa, he is always so wonderful, as are the elves. Highly recommend to everyone with children at Christmas time!
T. W.
Best Garden centre within 15 radius of Burton
j. c.
Great place to take your mum for a bite to eat and pick some nice plants 😋
R. M.
I love it here at Christmas time, how they have done the Christmas decorations are just amazing we had dinner there too which was quite nice
A. P.
Large garden centre. Has a couple of franchises inside too and the deli franchise is well worth a visit with some fantastic local produce on sale, cheeses, meats and other.
Worth saying we picked a stoneware product up at £60 which was £75 in another garden centre near West Bridgeford yesterday.
L. N.
Lovely garden centre lady outside today was brilliant so helpful with ideas of what to buy and what will go well. Shame one staff member on the tills always seems to ruin the experience as always so rude. Well worth a visit though and good reasonable prices
D. P.
One of the more expensive garden centers for basics (bedding plants etc) but have lots of things you can't get in the major chains
A. O.
Wonderful garden centre with a fabulous restaurant… cannot fault the food… quality produce served by lovely helpful staff. Extensive range of products and plants and the artisan shop is a dream.. highly recommend this place 😊
D. H.
Very friendly staff and a clean layout with good accessibility. However it does have a huge selection of home fragrances and clothing.....which to me doesn't belong in a GARDEN center. The outdoor plant selection is impressive however the indoor plant selection is very disappointing.
B. E.
Appears to sell everything. In the whole world. Ever. You do have to wind your way through miles of miscellaneous gardening goods before getting to where the plants are and then navigate past multiple shelves of posh tat to get to the tills. But most garden centres are set up like this now. Very helpful staff and a wide range of plants.
M. M.
Good bargains on the Xmas discounts.
I was amazed they still had stock on 2nd week in Jan
J. S.
Go in for a plant, come out with entire plant bed .. lovin' it.. this weekend discovered the fruit trees ..
T. D.
Plants always look healthy. Food good in the cafe
M. W.
Love this garden centre, particularly at Xmas, The trouble is we always spend too much hahahaha - hubby and I tend to pick up my sister on the way as she also loves it here. This week's visit we spent over £300 eeeeek!
M. H.
Great range/choice of products, but a little bit pricy as you would expect. In nomal times this would be a lovely experience. However, post Jul 19th 2021, not all staff appear to be wearing masks and staff informed me that hand sanitisor was no longer provided, when I asked for some at the exit/entrance. There are protective screens at the tills at the moment.
L. G.
Amazing houseplant section, could have spent a fortune
a. f.
Excellent garden centre which also offers everything from meals to ladies fashion. Their coffees are excellent as are the cakes and pastries.
R. F. G.
Has a good selection of plants currently and some of the deals are quite good. Staff are friendly and helpful. One told me that I didn't need to cart three bags of compost to the checkout, just to tell them which I wanted and then collect it after my shop. The area for viewing most plants outdoors is covered. My only criticism was that prices seemed quite high for some plants and the herb selection was very depleted (but this was probably good in normal conditions). If definitely go back.
J. T.
Excellent garden centre with staff on hard with alot of experience and expertise in each and every department. With how popular this garden centre is I feel the carpark could be better marked out making it easier for people coming in and out. Still 5 stars though 👍👍
R. S.
Great garden centre! Ordered plants and compost from their newly opened website. All plants arrived healthy and planted into my hanging baskets, containers and garden look amazing !
The whole process was straight forward to use, the staff on the phone and emails were polite and friendly and the delivery driver was very helpful.
Have something to enjoy watching my plants flower and vegetables grow during this difficult time !
Well done for all your efforts!
Would recommend the centre!!
Thanks
Rachel
P. P.
Well stocked garden centre with wide range of good quality plants, gardening tools & equipment, garden furniture etc. Knowledgeable staff.
Quality produce in Brown & Greens store on site.
Also wide range of other products. Nice cafe.
R.
Great gardening centre, always go at Christmas time just to see the great lights and decorations which is amazing. But a bit expensive for me.
J. D.
Another Garden centre to spend lots of time browsing and taking an afternoon tea break before more browsing and purchasing, of course.
R. H.
Busy but well stocked and the staff very helpful. The singing penguins made my sons day
R. S.
Plenty of bargains pot plants was £5.99 now £1
L. D.
Gorgeous decorations. Lovely food. Nice food shop out back. Expensive and awful parking
T.
It was very busy and some people just do t know how to socially distance. Queues at the tills dont help despite the fact that there are markers on the floor to help people social distance. Good quality of plants as always but I wont be rushing back because of the amount of people in store.
B. G.
I found exactly what I wanted here at a more reasonable price than the other centres I visited. Great selection of plants that you could tell had been well looked after. Social distancing measures in place were well thought out, and didn't have to queue long to get in or through the till.
When I got home I realised I had been overcharged, as a couple of offers hadn't gone through. I gave the centre a call and the lady on the phone sorted it for me in no time. Great service all round
4. 5.
As with all garden centres i find the prices are a little hard to bare. But this place is always busy and you can understand the supply Vs demand. The garden centre is well stocked and has recovered from the lock down well. The service is always good. The canteen is always extremely busy.
G. A.
Nice place to go for a couple of hours. Most probably everything possible for a garden and then some. Lovely café that does very nice food. Plenty of parking. BUT Very, very expensive.
A. M.
Coffee shop nice but cold, even the waittresses said they were cold
v. F.
Clean and bright staff okay. Large gift section along with plants etc. Not as good with service as others. They do have a section selling a limited choice of food and alcohol.
A. H.
Everything meticulously placed giving a pleasant therapeutic feel.
M. T.
Lovely and well stocked garden centre. Plants very well maintained with a variety of other departments in store such as garden tools, furniture and good range of garden planters. Social distancing measures in place and well marked out. Reasonable pricing for plants and garden equipment. Friendly and helpful staff 👍
S. W.
Lots of nice things but over inflated prices
J. W.
Had breakfast at the restaurant. Table service still and apparently that is now the norm. One bacon cob and two eggs on gluten free toasted bread for the wife. Very quick service from friendly staff.Good to see lots of early plants for sale. Nice to see lots of colour at this time of year. Some lovely gift ideas for Mothers Day too.
D. S.
Scones to die for! 10 out of 10, both cheese and fruit, can't get a better scone anywhere. Very nice cappuccino. Plants abundant, reasonable price. A nice place to spend some time, lots to look at and buy. Good selection of indoor plants and decorative pots. Staff friendly. We have visited for years, mainly for the scones. However, had some amazing bargains for clothes, boots etc and can always pick up a gift.
C. L.
Great place to take a look at and all your Xmas decorating needs. A bit expense for most items, but some bargains
L. (.
Was VERY busy no room to social distance at all, but the singing penguins were lovely and there were other decorations around too we didnt stay long due to crowds
N. D.
One of the better garden centres around. Tonnes of products for sale and a busy restaurant too with plenty of free parking.
A. F.
Great garden centre, good selection of home & garden wares, including independent outlets.
E. D.
We wanted to get some roses, so headed to Derby Garden Centre. A great selection of flowers so we picked up five lovely colours of rose bushes. Good price and picked up some extra lavender plants too. Friendly people and a lovely place to have a wander. Will be back!
a. w.
Fantastic experience, lovely gifts purchased. Grandson enjoyed all Christmas decorations and lights. Was able to try some toys with social distancing in place..felt safe with everyone in masks. Great experience
J. R.
Nice garden centre ,just a shame after restrictions now relaxed a bit the fantastic coffee shop / restaurant unfortunately closed !! Not even a takeaway option ect as like at other centres we've visited such a shame . Friendly staff ,appart from 1 sour faced woman faffing about near the tills on the orchid section, could curdle milk and thats through her mask #iflookscouldkill.
C. L.
I love going here and I can never stop myself from coming home with plants! Great variety of many plants, trees and shrubs both indoor and outdoor. The tea and cakes here are always delicious! May be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
K. F.
Wow, our first visit...what a treat. All your garden needs covered AND an amazing clothing section too...wasn't expecting that! We will definitely be back.
D. A.
Thought this place was excellent. Had a wide range of everything garden related.
The plant sections were strong both inside and out.
There is a very good farm shop in the outdoor section which is a must visit.syaff were friendly.
Prices were stightly high but the quality was there as was th range.
Will return
J. S.
Great variety of bedding plants but we had visited hoping for a coffee and to purchase some alpines. They were not serving coffee outside and there were very few alpines available
R. C.
Just love this place. Has something for everyone. Great choice of garden and household plants. The seedlings are fabulous great condition and so healthy looking staff do a wonderful job 😀
N. W.
Beautiful flowers and plants. Good layout so I could get around on my scooter easily. Gorgeous garden furniture too!
T. A.
Wonderful spacious garden centre.....lots of variety and quality of plants and flowers with an extensive range of garden accessories and furniture. Has a farm shop for produce and well stocked cafe which is clean and efficient. Probably not your cheapest but makes for a nice lunch and mooch about.
H. S.
Wow! First-ever visit here and it was quite impressive. The place is absolutely huge and there was a selection of Christmas decorations set out in a lovely christmassy aisle all colour coordinated, I didn't bring my children but if I had I think they would have loved it especially the singing penguins. We had something to eat in the cafe and it was very nice good quality only thing I would say to improve on is the loose tea cafetieres as the seals aren't great and the loose tea falls into your cup perhaps just used a normal teapot and a strainer.
W. T.
It'd not bad at all. Easy access and friendly staff. I asked for help and the chap realy was a gent and helped me without out a quibble. Enjoyable and lovely experience. All staff seemed willing to help others which is nice.
K. M.
Despite the current situation the centre was reasonably well stocked and staffed by people who new what they were talking about. Obviously nowhere is quite the same with social distancing and one way systems but Derby Garden Centre is making the best of it. Well done and thank you
S. H.
A huge range of products and a lovely restaurant.
T. P.
Lovely garden centre with lots of quirky and quaint items. Nice selection of what you would expect. As usual for a garden centre it is a little pricey but not ridiculous money
K. S.
Lovely place, well stocked of garden sundries, furnature, plants etc. Wasnt expecting to leave with a car air freshener, miniature bath bombs and an ornamental mushroom chime, along with the patio apple tree i initially went into buy. But I guess that's the price in pay for taking my two daughters with me. Despite living closer to two other garden centres, I prefer putting in the extra 5 mins travel as I know they'll 99% have what I went in for. Only once did I feel a little disappointed with a member of staff but we are all allowed off days and generally they are all so lovely and helpful.
I'm looking forward to returning again now the cafe is open
K. E.
A good day today got everything we wanted plenty of selection. Good social distancing staff helpful in out and around the garden centre everyone seemed to know what was being asked of them and didn't see anyone arguing about it that way a nice change. Been other places today and people arguing with staff I guess because they don't wish to follow the rules. 🙏
M. E.
Great selection covering majority of gardening requirements - plus some homeware and clothing. Quite busy as I expected, but well laid out and all Covid safety measures in place. Plenty of staff at the tills to minimise queuing.
A. R.
Like this place especially at Christmas, they really make an effort. Nice place for a walk around but be prepared, you're likely to purchase! There's a mix of garden, homeware, gifts and clothing to browse in nice surroundings. There's also a cafe on site which is nice so you can make a trip of it
M.
Went here with my mother found the facilities clean and tidy. With a hand wash station at the front of the shop. And a place to wipe your trolley down.
The staff were brilliant and there are plenty of carpark spaces, and they have a good queue system in place.
It has a café and toilets and a clothes department within.
I have only given this 4stars because I found that all the products are over priced REALLY over priced.
But apart from that we enjoyed our visit.
L. O. (. J.
Had Sunday lunch with my daughter.Lovely traditional roast and fresh vegetables. Very nicely served and reasonably priced. A good browse around the garden centre to get a few ideas for the garden which I am
currently restocking. Just a pity that it was raining
L. C.
Good selection if pricey. Helpful staff but a struggle on the socially distanced front and long queues. Difficult to get about (being in crutches due to disability)
N. G.
Great variety of things on sale not just plants and gardening. Lovely little food shop at the back as well. Staff very helpful and welcoming and a lovely cafe with great food. Not a cheap place but great quality.
B. W.
Excellent the best Christmas display of all the local garden centres. Well worth a visit
E. S.
Very nice place with lots of beautiful flowers and many other garden decorations. Would recommend. ^_^
C. W.
Love this garden centre. Staff always ready to help and very friendly. Love my garden and always come away with plants from here.
B. M.
Got everything we wanted, had a hot meal there today 31st must say the fish and chips was spit on well done can recommend.
D. “. A. P. H.
COVID adaption well organised.
Superb range of plants, gardening supplies and equipment, plus lots of garden furniture, BBQs and household goods and ladies clothing.
I went specifically to get some weed and feed for the lawn. Much cheaper than a certain Internet marketing giant!
Highly recommended.
R. W.
Wonderful garden centre with helpful staff. If you need any advice Pascal is your man. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes out of his way to help a customer. He deserves a medal. Ben is another great member of staff. Jane too offers lots of super advise on flowers
T. L.
Lovely little garden centre, very attractive asthetic, absolutely great around Christmas time, they've gone all out on the decorations for 2018.
Great selection of plants, plenty of variety of goods from kids toys, household goods and clothing. Also has a lovely cafe selling great food, hot and cold. Local produce is sold here.
There's a little children's corner in the cafe, it's not got a huge variety for kids to do there but enough to keep them occupied while you have a coffee.
Great to fill an afternoon, but not big enough to make a day out of it.
R. F.
Very spacious, well priced. Will certainly be back in the summer that is for sure. They had social distancing measure in place to which I felt safe.
Great job guys, see you soon
F. C.
Lovely garden centre with everything you would expect.staff are always ready to help with any questions you may have too.
a. t.
Lovely place to visit.so many different things to look at.you could spend 1/2 a day here.lovely big restaurant if you fancy a snack and coffee while you are there
S. H.
Excellent service. Phoned to check to see if they had a plant i wanted in and they phoned me straight back. Then when we went in, i asked if they had another plant and the guys jumped straight to fetch me one. And the lady at the till was lovely too and the queue to pay went down so quick! Can't fault them at all.
S. S.
Hi, I've visited this garden center twice in one month. I have bought items both times. It's very early days for my full reviews about this garden center.
D. P.
Big carpark. Safe one way system around the garden center. Good strong winter plants. Lots of lovely Christmas gifts and displays. Very good cafe with table service at the moment.
D. H.
Well worth a visit, well stocked and great choice of garden products and much more. Beautiful Christmas decorations and gift ideas. Queueing was well organised for a busy Saturday morning. Staff friendly and helpful.
s.
The cafe was very full felt uncomfortable with how close people were to me. The food had been prepared in advanced and was tasteless with not all the food on the menu being available. In general pricey not enough staff to serve you so long queue with no social distancing
D. R.
Large garden centre with much to see and do,very good restaurant, I would recommend a visit.
J. A.
Aladdin's Cave, they practically have everything you need.
R. C.
Visited today 18-10-16 and I was impressed with the recent refurbishment. Well presented and spacious. The Christmas display is impressive, though would be better if they removed damaged stock from display. Good selection of plants etc. The restaurant is busy, though I have never had a meal there. Pet and bird food displays. I would like to see them stock lawn mowers and other electric garden tools instead of having to go to Homebase or Argos. The toilets are clean and modern. Well worth a visit. Parking can be tricky when busy.
G. P.
Really good garden centre, has great selection of plants, tools l, fertilisers etc. and a nice café too.
M. L.
Good choice of quality garden and house plants, so far everything purchased from here is still going strong. Lots of tools, and accessories. Spend a small fortune in here on things I didn't really need but had to have, solar lights much better than the supermarket ones I've had (more expensive of course but autumn is worth a visit for a cheeky discount). Lots of random stuff like clothing, greetings cards & bath bombs. The food shop is great for gifts lots of fancy Gin's and booze. Also has a hot tub showroom if that's your thing. Friendly staff and sell compost and soil basics at a competitive price. Literally it's an afternoon out for me, I do enjoy this place. Still not joined the club card or used the café though!.
A. V.
Good place, bit pricey but has got everything for your garden. Great place to visit.
R. H.
Excellent place to visit. Great food in the restaurant (recommend the breakfast!). Very good food shop. Plants are well presented and cared for.
P. D.
Dobbies is a very busy centre, big car park but can be very full during midday.
c. f.
Lovely big garden centre, with plenty of lovely homewares, clothes, outdoor furniture, an extensive selections of plants and even some hot tubs. Has a cafè inside with good food, a little pricey though. Plenty of car parking spaces for free, although can get busy at weekends and holidays. Quality products though and friendly staff.
A. W.
It was my first visit, I visited with a friend who was looking for seeds and bulbs. As it's her birthday soon, I was able to purchase a few non gardening items, we loved the restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely cup of tea. Staff were very helpful, would definitely go again.
M. b.
Great choice of just about everything other than mens clothing or accessories..
R. B.
Excellent choice of goods, a real Alladins cave. Disappointed with the cafe, over priced and not value for money, the coffee and walnut cake was very expensive and dry, not enjoyable. overall the garden centre is well worth a visit though
A. S.
Very large place with a large car park. At this time of year just packed with Christmas trees, gifts, decorations etc. Also has a shop to buy food and drinks. Nice restaurant. Clothes shops, candles etc etc. It's a great place for a morning out. Find it quite pricey though. Food is very pricey at side of other cafes etc. Toasted tracks £3.25 yet 1.95 in copper cogs.
R. S.
Visited today to see the Christmas display and was not disappointed. Really beautiful. The displays not only looked fabulous but were well thought out. Christmas tree displays had all the corresponding decorations around each tree or close by making it easy to find just what you wanted. Simply stunning.
D. H.
Plenty of variety always a splendid Xmas display ,good food too
A. L.
Lovely garden center, so nice to see all the plants. Hanging baskets. Great social distances with hand gel facilities. Nice staff.
E. W.
Highly recommend this garden centre. This was mine first visit will definitely be going again. Great food shop in there too.
M. E.
Ok garden centre, was not busy at 9 am on Saturday, a bit pricey but owerall has same stuff like everywhere. Very nice stuff, friendly and full of advice in every corner.
J. G.
A wonderful garden centre with everything from plants to lighting to furniture and more. Staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant serves a brilliant hot lunch with generous portions and 3/4 choices. It is very popular and the food goes quickly.
T. M.
Expensive but really lovely things there!
Also a great little farm shop at the back! Well worth the visit!
S. W.
Great garden centre. So many varieties of plants and so well cared for. Great selection of garden products. Friendly service. Would recommend.
B. R.
Not bad. Good selection of Christmas decos which we went for. Dogs welcome which is great but no where to sit in restaurant with dog except outside which is very cold at this time of year. Have a couple of garden centres closer to home that welcome dogs in certain area so maybe this could be thought about by management.
L. P.
Great to look round on a sunny day, but oh, so expensive!
D. B.
A lovely place to visit. Lovely food and friendly staff. We go there often one of our most favorite garden centres.☕🍰🌹🌸🌷
N. B.
Çalled in for coffee and cake well organised ,friendly service .the only down side for me was the size and price of coffee £2.90 for what I would call a small coffee. Ripoff
D. N.
Really liked this garden centre, isn't the biggest, but the selection is great. I only went to look at outdoor plants and the range that they had was great, good quality and at a fair price. Will definitely be returning.
J. S.
Very expensive for everything. Cafe cakes are £4.50 but we easily fed two of us, makes us feel that they could serve much smaller portions for lower prices. 300ml coke is £3! I should say the cake was delicious, completely incredible.
Same for the merchandise, all nice quality things but expensive. I saw a box of straws for £4. Ironically the plants and so on are much more reasonable!
Large, clean changing table for my baby, very pleased.
J. A. M. H.
Really great place to visit, staff far more helpful than on our last visit. Fully stocked with everything you need for your garden and home. Good selection of clothing.
c. b.
I was a bit disappointed with the limited choice of plants, have been to smaller garden centres with much more.
It seems to hinge more on homewares over outdoors, if your looking for this type of stuff then you will not be let down.
Thought the prices were a little high though quality made up for that.
Plenty of car parking and a place for a cuppa and snack.
G. H.
Nicely set out, good selection of plants and everything garden related. 3 stars for price of the plants, as on the way home I nipped into Wilkos for some toiletries and saw the 2 plants I had just purchased for half the price and they were larger plants. You live and learn
a. t.
Very nice garden centre with lots of beautiful things for your garden and home, plants are well cared for, the staff knowledgeable and helpful. Good sized car park, Good food area and some little artisan food shops too. Worth a visit just to look around and have a cream tea.
L. P.
A lovely place for flowers and gardening ideas, don't buy anything to eat here, it's dry and massively overpriced. A latte will set you £2.65 for a thimble full. £2.95 for a bottle of coke. The place is well kept and well stocked just bring a mortgage application for food. Try Shipley or Trowel for better value and taste food
M. S. S.
Had some great offers on plants
I. A.
Good garden centre that sells lots of stuff indoors as well as a good stock of healthy looking plants. It also has a great café/restaurant which is currently doing safe table service while covid is around.
B. K.
Cafe service very poor and limited choice. Had to ask all the right questions to get a hot drink.
L. H.
It's been a good 12 months since we last visited. The plants looked healthy and a large variety of perennials etc. Huge selection of pots both glazed, terracotta. Inside there is lots of choice with garden and home accessories. Inside it has had a makeover and as far as garden centres go it's one of the best we have visited this year. Prices are inline with what you would expect to pay at other garden centres.
L. C.
Very busy no parking spaces , go in the week.26,6,2022 very busy large selection of bbq's & patio equipment.
A. T.
Lots of variety and interesting things, was very busy , car park full
L. W.
Really nice place to visit, good selection of plants, garden furniture, items for your home and also ladies clothes. Food good but gets busy at lunch time.
L. G.
Great visit, everyone wore masks and most ppl, stuck to the 2m distancing, it was clearly marked on the floor. They have some lovely garden furniture on sale. Hayley was very professional on the check out 👍
J. G.
Loads of lovely plants and garden accessories
J. S.
Hi garden centre great. However we had a coffee and chose to sit outside due to COVID-19 . We became concerned with the fact that social distancing is a little slack. The staff weren’t wearing mask and just seemed to cram has many people they could outside which became a worry.
C. L.
Very good, lovely plants well kept and knowledgeable staff. Disappointed at the prices in the cafe though.
g.
Expensive but a good selection and service
W. B.
Had our breakfast here would have been lovely if it had been hotter, that's why I gave it four 🌟 lovely and clean , lovely staff. We come here at least once a month. The best garden centre in Derby.
n. t.
Lovely visit to look at xmas decorations I brought quite a few. The cafe is great I always enjoy having a drink when I visited your garden centre. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
F. E.
Great place for everything fir the home. Inside and outside plants. Pots, gizmos the lot. Quality of everything is the tops. Love cafe/restaurant with good selection of fresh food. Nice staff, and real plantsmen to hand for advice. Chicken and bacon wrap with selection of roast and cooked veg. Excellent size portions.
J. M.
Went to purchase an Led Xmas tree but they didn't have any on display
J.
Has everything you be looking for the garden from plant to bbq (braai), posh patio seating and hot tubs
Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly when approached by folk like me who knows nothing about plants
Tad more expensive than local centres but you're paying for quality items
C. Y.
Always like to walk round then go for a coffee. The cafe is well run now its table service, friendly staff quick service very impressed.
J. P.
Lovely garden centre cafe a bit expensive
S. W.
Lovely place to visit with a nice cafe, quite pricey but some really nice bits
J. J.
Lots of nice things and good selection of Christmas decorations, take plenty of money
C. C.
Fabulous variety of plants and seasonal goods, inc clothes, food, cards, trinckets. Enormous stock of Xmas decorations. Helpful staff. Large on site restaurant. Not cheap, but beautifully presented shop floor and food counter.
A. T.
An excellent garden centre. Sell so much more. Clothing .books .glass. pottery. Food.worth a visit.
J. M.
They have a wide range of products on display. Also fashion goods and general garden products. There is also an excellent cafe serving full meals and lovely snacks. Its well worth a visit, but allow plenty of time as there is a lot to see
S. W.
Visited many time after recommended by neighbours. Helpful staff and excellent plants. Well stocked shop, horticultural, Christmas decs/garden furniture appropriate to season and much other good quality stuff. Delicious coffee and hot chocolate but never actually eaten here.
N. R.
Nice place to visit ,but found the bedding plants expensive compared to other Garden Centres.
H. F.
Great choice of goods to buy, plants, cards and all sorts of delights. A bit pricey, but the stuff on sale is good quality. Plus, the Christmas Giant Singing Penquins have got to be seen to be believed!!
M. G.
First time visit with my mum. Treated her to a lovely breakfast absolutely no complaints and the staff are lovely they could not do enough. Will definitely return
L. M.
Pretty, clean store, lost a star because it's difficult for the disabled to navigate. One is forced to walk the entire store to get to the tills and things displayed outside weren't on the shelves inside or in the exterior garden centre area.
C. R.
Love this place. Come at least once a month. Lovely cafe and food
B. M.
Wanted some perennial plants for our garden ,found everything I wanted yes could have found them at a cheaper price but needed them at the time
L. W.
Great local centre for all your gardening needs cafe opening soon hopefully food shop and gifts wines etc superior cheeses etc lovely staff very good access for disabled people and lots of free parking great place
P. C.
Great garden centre with lots of things to buy. From gardening to clothing to pictures to household items all at good prices. Nice restaurant but really expensive. Does get busy though as it's very popular
M. R.
Good sized garden centre, can get quite busy. Had really lovely decorations at Christmastime.
J. A.
Good selection but not the cheapest option. Cafe area still gone and closed off, don't know if it's going to reopen when restrictions lift?
J. P.
Wonderfully knowledge staff in the plant department who spent time and effort to resolve a problem with a plant that we purchased. Replaced the plant with a new one and solved the leaf contamination worry we had with the original.
With service like that what's not to like and with the competitive prices and excellent service why go anywhere else.
H. N.
All kinds of things can be bought under one roof, outdoor plants and things for the garden, indoor plants, gifts, clothes. The shop is clean and bright and the staff are helpful. There is also a cafe so you can have a cuppa whilst you decide which department to go to next. a very pleasant shopping experience.
H. B.
first visit & amazed to find so many wonderful things for sale. Coffee shop a bit on the expensive side but lovely cards toiletries & clothes besides tempting things you never knew you needed. sorry couldn't buy plants etc on this visit. I'll certainly be back.
K. D.
A great spot to find nearly everything you need plant wise for indoors or outdoors! Make sure you check around the perimeter of the store, even before you go in, for some of the best deals on compost, soil, fill, and rocks.
i. h.
Great garden centre. Large car park but not enough 'Blue Badge' spaces available. Vast selection of quality home and garden goods for sale here but I think they should open an aquatics dept too like most other garden centres have.
S. B.
Lots of garden inspiration and unusual items for sale including a clothing section lovely gift ideas! There is a sale on at the minute (7th Aug) Theres a nice restaurant only had drinks though so can't comment on the food. A little on the expensive side though.
a. s.
Great garden centre with pleanty of stock. Great at Christmas time for all your decorations. Really big cafe but thats a bit pricey so take your time with the cakes and goodies..
V. W.
Very welcoming, love the table service in the cafe, always enjoy my visit.
J. N.
Great products
W. W.
A nice place to visit. Well laid out and attractive to walk around. We went to buy rocks for painting. We rang before we went to check and the person who answered the phone was friendly helpful and informative.
After we had picked up our rocks we went inside to pay. These were taken from us by a member of staff and taken to the till to pay after we walked round. Being Christmas the displays were all very nice and lots of festive themed items and lots of gift ideas for all ages. We spent over half an hour just looking, my daughter would have spent longer if we had time.
C. W.
Went expecting it to be busy, but it was deserted. It looked like the day after a big sale... empty, untidy shelves, things on the floor. But do you know what, that's OK 😉 Limited staff, limited customers. Got what I needed.
J. G. S.
Large garden centre near Derby. Has a good range of items in indoor shop and many plants outside under cover. Restaurant has a reasonable range of both hot and cold food all not to expensive. Cafeteria style but brings out specials to tables. Very busy! Service pleasant.
For first timer lack of signs to direct to locations was a challenge.
Very busy and parking seems to be an issue especially on a wet Saturday lunchtime!
C. J.
Very expensive. But excellent selection, really good cafe/restaurant. Added bonus is the artisan farm shop. If you're not too picky the discounted section of plants is very good... But expect to pay a pretty penny for everything else
D. B.
Really liked this garden centre nice and clean but lots of sculptures and design ideas. Looking forward to my next visit.
k. d.
Easy access from the A38 and wheelchair friendly. Slow service at the cafe but nice food despite the wait. Lovely gift ideas and great plants and gardening bits.
C. S.
Absolutely stunning this time of year🥰 Staff friendly 🥰 plants and bulbs amazing choices🥰 gift & stationary fabulous 🥰. I just love this shop. Best shop in Derbyshire 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
A. K.
Great place for quality plants, flowers and trees plus there's an amazing assortment of house and garden accessories.
S. B.
Great selection in all sections. Had lunch. Very good measures in place to make us feel safely distanced. Also had a sale on so bargains to be had!!
S. j.
Fabulous place. Love it. Has everything for the garden plus clothes outs. Beautiful things for the home. Books, cards, kitchen ware. I went during the Christmas period. It was a winter wonderland. Don't go if you are in a hurry.! I could have stayed all day.
G. L.
Very Xmassy! Good atmosphere. Plenty for everyone. Great bargains to be had for plant s like the cyclamen/bellis daisies/seedling wallflowers I bought for winter colour. 🍁🍁
A. K.
Always a great place to shop, especially after a coffee or meal in the restaurant which has lots of choice.
A. T.
Big chain garden centre. All the asperational living you could want under one roof. Plant stock looked good, with plenty of choice. Not the cheapest though.
H. W.
They have a lovely Christmas display of houses and large singing penguins
D. S.
Good range of products and friendly staff
L. B.
Very good variety of healthy looking plants, some a little expensive for us but it did not seem to bother others. Excellent and comfortable walk around. Recommend it
J. S.
Very nice went for lunch with my daughter and grandchildren table service food ok
J. D.
Fabulous selection of everything you could need for your gardening requirements, from furniture, plants, flowers and garden ornaments plus giftware and clothing. They also have a lovely cafe/restaurant and farm shop. Staff are very friendly and helpful too
O. S. (.
We love it here, has an excellent variety of products including plants, cards, books and a cafe. We didn't go in the cafe today, as it was rammed. We'll be back soon
T. F.
Good parking, lots of choice of pots and things. Good layout plenty of staff to ask questions.
Z. T.
Brilliant service in the cafe and very straightforward but sensible new approach to serving you since covid outbreak. Will definitely be going again! (perhaps not at the weekend though!)
G. F.
A great garden centre, friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent, lovely food and so well organised. Had a very enjoyable and safe time here.
K. J.
Great day out friendly staff
D. B.
Beautiful items to buy, some a bit pricey but lots of great choice. The shop is worth visiting for artisan food and drinks. Just go and enjoy 🙂
C. M.
A really lovely garden centre with a good range of plants and gardening tiiks and accessories plus gifts, a cafe, a local produce shop and a small selection of clothing. Reasonably priced, a nice place to wander around.
J. D. M.
Car Parking is awful. Quite expensive. Good range of stock.
S. A.
Best garden centre I have been to, well stocked, clean and tidy and the carvery in the restaurant is the best I have every had. Their Christmas decorations displays are the best I have ever seen. Well worth visiting
M. B.
Well laid out plants were not the cheapest but have been to other garden centres where they were dearer.Coffe and scones were very nice and reasonably priced.will visit again.
h. d.
Lots of things to see clothes food and big variety of plants and a very nice restaurant but a tad expensive but the service and food was good
c. e.
Great place to spend an hour or two. Well set out store. Cafe excellent. Had several gluten free cakes but unfortunately no gluten free sandwiches. Lovely Christmas displays.
M. B.
Nice place,good customer care.
C. E.
Enjoyed the bespoke shops and the cafe, although the prices are a little high compared to portion size
A. A.
Great place to visit . Lots of gift ideas.
Loads of nice things for your garden too
M. B.
Thank you!!! My garden furniture is wonderful, everyone so helpful, the lady that served was grabbed as she came through the doors hadn't even got her coat off But she arranged delivery and everything. Next day I'm sitting in the garden with my feet up ,that's what I call serviceWell done EVERYONE always marvellous
m. c.
Good selection of plants and household items plus some very grand outdoor seating. Helpful staff. Would recommend to others.
J. N.
Amazing garden centre and so much more. Love how the Christmas display is shaping up. Could have spent a whole afternoon here. Thought the plants were reasonably priced too. Loads of gift ideas and a nice cup of tea and cake, although I thought this could have been priced a little lower.
A. T.
Got here in time for coffee tok have before lunch. Coffee and service was good. Lunch was five star, what more can you say.! Helps when car parking is good, it is here.
L. J.
Busy garden centre with a wide range of products. Staff helpful when I couldn't find what I was looking for. Always a good place to visit.
D. D.
Great selection of plants and other items for the house and garden. Well stocked outdoor garden plant area. Worth a visit.
p. b.
I have just returned from garden centre this morning after being closed for what it seemed forever. Plenty of plant's etc. But most of all the staff fantastic in this horrible time, polite patient to everyone. Great keep us going
Thank you all
S. L.
Helpful staff, restaurant was very efficient and staff were lovely. Garden centre has lots of solar lights and furniture.
G. C.
Best garden centre in Derby apart from Hudsons
M. N.
I was able to wander at will to find what I wanted, the staff were very helpful, and I was very happy with my purchases, and had a great day out into the bargain, got home just as the rain was starting.
P. B.
I actually went to have look around Brown & Green Farm Shop located at back of Centre for their range of cheeses. Garden Centre well stocked, though some plants had confusing pricing,. Same plants in different areas of display at different prices.
M. F.
Most enjoyable experience. Plenty of sales bargens, nice cup of coffee and friendly staff.
s. h.
Very nice place. But found it a bit expensive especially the cafe
G. O.
Absolutely marvellous! First was the loan of wheelchairs - my husband would have struggled without that. Staff unfailingly polite and kind and the displays!! What can I say - singing penguins the beautiful animated snow scene an unbelievable display of decorations and flowers + wonderful coffee and cake. Cannot wait to come back THANK YOU
I
A. O.
Nice restaurant/cafe, good selection of plants. There's also a deli shop, womens clothes section, card, gift and children's toys sold here. Not on the cheap side.
W. B.
Sunday afternoon visit before Christmas. Very busy but staff were extremely helpful and enormous range of goods for sale. Restaurant serves a variety of food and drinks and was full of customers. Well worth a visit.
S. B.
Very nice store../cafe
g. s.
Plenty of disabled parking spaces close to the entrance, a wide veriety of all your gardening needs can be found from seeds to seats, they even sell gin..! And a big thank you to Helen for all your help.
P. G.
Fantastic choice of plants and furniture available with knowledgeable staff...a proper garden centre with lots of parking.
M. I.
Excellent. First visit here. Took group of 12 seniors no complaints. Very well laid out cafe/restaurant very pleasantly set out clean and airy, food slightly more expensive than Dobbies / Wyevale but very good.
P. S.
Very nice place to visit a lovely restaurant and plenty of flowers and plants also Nik nak to choose from if needed
G. B.
A lot of stock on display good café, nice Sunday carvery. New lay out takes you around the houses rather than short cuts to different areas that you may more interested in.
G. B.
Long gone are the days of going to a garden centre and expecting to buy plants. This too has been turned into a show room for almost anything except plants. Yes, ok I'm perhaps a bit harsh , they do sell plants, there was an abundance of syclamens and a few nice displays out doors but it seems overpriced for what it is. Cornus for 14.99 for example seems somewhat expensive.
The cafe is always busy which is a good sign although I haven't eaten there in years. I suppose it's personal preference. It's clean and tidy and they sell loads of stuff. But the old days of just looking at the weird and wonderful array of plants at the garden centres of a bygone age still have a place in my cold, black heart.

They have recently changed the layout and you now have to go all the way through the store to get to the tills. Even Ikea has short cuts but not here. To go back to the seeds you have to meander all the way back or go through the till and back in the entrance. Obviously someone’s idea of getting you to see all the store even if you are only interested in one aspect. Shame because it is a good garden centre

Bought silly little bits for the garden. Had a nice lunch. Good scones. Very pleasant. Plenty to buy. Will have to go again soon
J. M.
It was quite quiet today, only 6 or7 waiting to get in.
Some decent offers available.
Down side is that they must have been exceptionally busy as there was little stock in the plant department
J. B.
For saying we are social distancing, no queues at the time we got there and it is so well organised by the very friendly staff 😁 lots of plants but for us sadly no bedding plants 🌺 indoors they had the usual clothes dept, gifty dept and indoor plants overall a nice relaxing shop, I would recommend you visit 🤗

Lovely afternoon tea and scone and wander around. Plenty of pretty plants & other items - needed or just lovely too have. One of my go-to places.
A. C.
Visited restaurant. Good service, great food. Recommend a visit

Nice place but cafe is really expensive in my opinion.
T.
Great choice of garden items and indoor/outdoor plants (climbers, trees, shrubs, etc.). Helpful staff who are happy to give advice and clearly enjoy their work.

Lots to view, lots of beautiful gift ideas for every age group, especially with the c word coming up, relaxed with a cuppa very friendly staff, in all a lovely experience

Visited the cafe for dinner whilst we were in the Garden Centre, We had sunday lunch which was really nice. My only criticism would be re the veg. There were carrots, red cabbage caramelised.and a leek in sauce . It would have been better to have had two regular veg and one different instead of caramelised red cabbage and leek in a sauce. Although the meal was very nice I did think it was a bit pricey at £9.95 each.

Great choices of plants, love the Christmas displays too. Quite pricey but most garden centres are

R. B.

P. R.
Had a fabulous time at Little Eaton Garden Centre. Goods, Staff & Food , great as always
M. B.
Not so much a garden centre, more a great place to buy quality presents and clothes. Their plants are now, what they've always been, very high quality and the garden staff are second to none.
S. L.
Got some great bargains in the bedding plants and hanging baskets. Staff really nice and friendly
M. L.
I love this garden centre. At Christmas it's a magical place to visit. Huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Wheel chair friendly

Went for plants, good choice and quality, prices good value, only downer was looking for two bushes, tall stem with a round bushy top, no find. Always worth a visit and alot more than just plants as well.
P. W.
First visit since the garden centre expanded. We'll laid out, great range.
L. W.
I bought a lovely hat that was £20, and the checkout lady just plonked it down on the counter that she had just wiped with a damp cloth. She never offered to put it in a bag. I had to ask for one. A little more customer service would be nice.

I'm tempted to give this place the full give stars. It is a Garden Centre rather than Nursery so includes clothes, pets, restaurant and small business within the grounds. It does stock a large range of plants however. It's ideal as a place to visit if you just feel like a run out for an hour.
P. W.
Plenty of choice staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful and being a blue diamond member saved me quite a bit of money so all good
B.
We all loved it my eldest even bout a lttle gardening set. So she can garden with me.
M. L.
A nice place to shop or eat. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Plenty of choice in the cafe. As well as gardening tete are sections for clothing books gifts etc and the Christmas displays are wonderful....not yet though.
E. H.
Been there for first time, lovely garden centre but we are very disappointed with the cafe. Couldn't even get lunch or coffee there and they had nothing to eat or even drink for our 8 years old Grandson.... Not very happy..
t.
Went here on a second date, we sniffed candles, appreciated bath bombs and looked at overpriced pictures. Love blossomed as we mooched amongst the strange and expensive clothes section..... I mean what kind of a garden centre sells clothes?
J. H.
Lovely garden centre with a fantastic Christmas display.
C. G.
Lovely place but very busy today. I only wanted a voucher. Social distancing adhered too
L. T.
Good choice of products. Staff really knowledgeable about plants etc. Cafe, hot tub showroom, toys amongst others. A bit overpriced though I think.
C. D.
Its a very nice place. Not only selling garden related things but they have some nice clothing. There is a toy section for young children. The cafe is a place you must visit. Declious buffets and cakes.
M. “. L.
Very good place, good Garden center and the artisan food shop is great if not a little pricey
C. T.
The garden centre is compact but you can always find what you want and the staff are all very helpful and friendly.

Sometimes hard to find everything and a little bit pricey but great variety of plants and a lovely cafe to have a break and a piece of cake.
J. G.
Busy garden centre, even in lock down. They cater for all your needs and true to form they provided the plant food I needed; a touch dear but I got what I wanted straight away.
R. P.
Great garden centre. Loads of different things to look at/buy. Good selection of plants . Lots of Christmas decorations etc
D. H.
Outstanding. I visit many garden centres all over Great Britain, but this one is in a different league to all the others, you must visit. Anything for the garden and much more plus a large coffee shop
L.
Good range of plants. Nice gift and clothing and kitchen wares areas. It is a bit on the expensive side especially in the cafe. Makes a nice afternoon out.
S. H.
£2 90 for water and cakes expensive. Black coffee only 3/4 cup full. Pity because lovely place to visit in all other respects.
r. p.
It's not bad but far too much non gardening rubbish. Excellent deli at the back!
C. P.
Nice restaurant if a little pricey. Two coffees and tea cakes over £11! The garden centre itself is full of opportunities for some retail therapy.
L. G.
Great customer service staff brilliant. Good quality plants and goods. Go often.
r. k.
More than just a traditional garden center. There's a restaurant and all sorts of garden accessories and furniture. The staff are knowledgeable and informative, and the range and variety of plants available is fab.
p. s.
Disappointed in no exit sign and had to walk around to find way out.
A. T.
Good range of quality plants.
Knowledgeable staff,
Good restaurant but poor wheelchair user car parking and toilet facilties, one lying one toilet usually have to wait to use, and can cause problems..
K. W.
Nice place and well controlled under Covid restrictions. Had all I wanted at this visit except grow bags but bought general purpose compost in place.
K. B.
What an enormous shopping floor!
I could do all my Xmas shopping here, never mind the plants!
Great café too. Huge choice and big squishy cakes.
A. E.
Love going here for their Christmas displays and never disappointed.
C. P.

Fantastic place with a variety of goods good sale on clothing at the minute .Although last week and brought bird seed which when I got home I notice it was 2 for 1 offer the cashier should have told me to get another bag .product knowledge needs attention
R. “. S.
Lots of choice, can't fault that, somewhat on the pricey side. Food section is worth the trip alone.
H. H.
Nice afternoon buying trellis, planters, and a climber..had exactly what was needed...staff pleasant and helpful with delivery! Would recommend!
