Reviews of Cherry Lane Tickhill
M. C.
Really nice garden centre, though not sure that's the right term, it's kinda like The Range mixed with a garden center. You can get most things here including washing powder and toilet rolls.
Very clean, tidy and well presented. Lots and lots of garden, BBQ, garden lounge, housewares etc.
My only negative is it was a hot day (around 24°C) and most of inside is like a greenhouse with a polycarb roof, it was uncomfortably hot in there and couldn't wait to get out.
Other than that, it's a great place and will definitely be going back.
D. S.
Had a look today, was very surprised how good and big it was, anything you want for your garden they will have it. Also gave the cafe a try, the scones were lovely with fresh cream and jam
S. G.
Has started getting this years stock in. Lots of bedding plants, bulbs ,some roses and grow your own. Sells a range of household goods, furniture, bird food, pet section, paint and tools. Thats not counting all your gardening needs. Also has a cafe and inside independent shops. They have been changing it round a bit. The big greenhouse that had all the bedding plants has been cleared and now holds outside furniture, lighting etc.

What a great find 😊 on our return journey from the Lake District we stopped off for a lunch break. The restaurant food was delicious, very reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The garden centre was great...lots of interesting things to see and purchase. Definately worth a return visit.

Just had breakfat with Santa. Awesome my grandchildren loved it. Perfectly cooked full English breakfast. 3 young lady elves, dancing and singing, cheerful. Billy the Biscuit, the magician. Really good he entertained 18 children and they loved it. Finally Santa, he was really good and lovely. Over six feet tall blue eyes and really looked the part. 5 stars. Absolutely perfect.
T. S.
Some reasonable prices compared to other garden centres. Quite a reasonable selection of plants.
Staff in the cafe could do with a bit of customer friendly training as I found them a bit curt.
K. T.
Love love love! Great place reasonable prices. Alot of Christmas trees, lights, decorations for sale! PLUS Xmas gifts! Friendly staff. Could do with more staff on shop floor other than that great place to go!
H.
Good place to shop now and then. Large carpark and has a variety of gifts, homewares, pet supplies, and gardening supplies. Always take your receipt, though, as I've had to take a couple of things back that weren't working recently....namely Christmas lights and a candle arch. Didn't have any trouble exchanging the items though.
f.
Dog friendly, staff are also dog friendly and many have treats waiting to greet your little one. Plenty of items on offer from food and toiletries, homeware, clothing, pet items, plants and gardening and toys. Also seasonal items. There is a restaurant and a few othe little shops in the outdoors part. Great prices on many things. Worth a visit. Plenty of free parking
D. E.
Has dome really decent stuff but be carefully to avoid the tacky bits! Less of a garden centre now, full of allsorts but still good for general garden/outdoors. Staff are very helpful.
D. L.
Lots of Xmas items ,well laid out etc plus other items inc DIY , Clothes ,Food etc.
Obviously concentrating on upcoming festive events and very little on actual garden products, which I suppose is acceptable at this time of year.
On the busy side but you could still get around easily.
S. L.
Great variety of stock from sweets to hardware, clothing to pet food, gifts to cupboard staples. Reasonable prices, has a small cafe on site, toilets and plenty of parking
M. A.
Great garden centre which has evolved into more of a mini market selling everything from food to furniture but still retaining the garden centre. Wellingtons cafe is a must visit whilst your there .
M. M.
Nice garden centre, got everything you need for basics, good place to pick up a deal now and then. Cafe pretty decent food and portions and fair price.
L. M.
Enjoyed my visit because of who I went with. Didn't go into Cherry Tree, just the garden centre so it's only looking round
j. D.
As always.... coffee n cake was delicious....
They have done a re..vamp in the main garden centre and wow what a difference....
The staff always go over and above to help you in any way they can...
The prices are just right in these challenging times
D. M.
Nice walk around and a large variety of home and garden. Prices very reasonable and parking is free.
L. I.
Best garden centre around Worksop. Good prices and quality of plants.
D. H.
Always a good place to visit and spend an hour browsing around, drinks and snacks available, plenty of parking spaces.
You just might find something you like for house or garden.
M. E.
Well set out in terms of the stock and the way it was set out, very professional in the service for the customers, the reason for four star's is because when looking at stock for sale some staff seems to be very unreasonable around customers, this is rectifiable and I'm sure a good team brief will sort it out.
L. M.
Lovely place to visit. Dog friendly throughout, great little Café/bistro.
Definitely worth a visit.
D. M.
Alright garden centre - trying to breach the “farm shop” territory just by stocking fancy jam and charging a fortune, not even necessarily local companies or anything which is the main point of a farm shop.
Good selection of plants, but honestly would rather go to B&Q down the road and have a better choice as well as save a few pennies.
M. G.
It has been a long time since I last visited, lots of choices and good value
J. L.
The place as most things in store. Thy have different things like gardening tools. Out side thy have plants Thy have a nice cafe with tolets Some shops like nine cakes and pies. Some goods like clothes.
K.
Love it here, you can literally buy everything. Food, household furniture, cleaning products, decorating items, Xmas decs, things for pets and garden stuff .
Only reason it isn't 5 start is because I'm hot weather it's unbearable in there. Not sure how the staff cope. I can't stand more than 5 mins when it is hot. Which is a shame because I'd love to stay longer and browse. Please add some air con for your customers and staff.
S. B.
Plenty items of all types.
Prices same as everywhere else.
A bit squeezing at the Tills, like cattle herding, when busy.
M. E.
Good variety of things to buy, not the classiest of garden centres but I don't think it's trying to be. On the positive side, the prices seem to reflect this as it's cheaper than most garden centres.
S. W.
Great place to visit , lots to see and buy. Especially for Christmas.
P. B.
A lovely garden centre with lots to see and a welcoming cafe.
M. M.
Brilliant place , good shopping plenty of choice, not too expensive
D. W.
This garden centre went down hill at one point but they have spent some money on it and brought it more up market. Feels. Less like a discount store and now has a good range of plants and nice on site cafe. We had stopped going but will use it again in future as they have much improved
D. S.
Nice wander round raining n lots of puddles in store things covered up because of the rain
J. T.
The cafe is lovely
Not alot now in variety of plants
The Christmas part is great
P. G.
Not a bad place to visit, various selection of plants and other items on sale.
D. F.
Always good service and staff are very helpful. Good quality plants too seems better laid out too. Lots of Christmas things at bargain prices
j.
I had a problem with a new water feature from this store Phil Perkins took hold of my problem with the help of his stall sorted it outI will visit this store again thanks for the great service
P. S.
Wife likes it here, prices are not to bad good range of goods, cafe/ restaurant if you want it
M. R.
I always like a trip to Cherry Lane Garden Center even if it's just for a walk around especially at Christmas when all decorations are set on display!
p. b.
The cafe in this place is first class. Today we had a cheese and onion quiche, all I can say is wow wow wow. It was out of this world. The taste and texture was amazing 12/10. The garden centre itself is clean and tidy with many things other than plants to buy.
D. R.
General garden centre bits... plants etc...outdoor clothes... worth a visit.. Cafe on site with good plain food.. Hot meals, cakes and desserts.
Update 6/11/22
Still a very good cafe... plenty of Xmas stuff.
Plenty to look at too
D. W.
Great hargen Centre has lots of gifts toys food items amongst plants and gardening items has a large pets area at the back. Outside is a lovely large cafe food really nice. The garden centre is not overpriced lots of bargains. Large carpark wheelchair available and disabled parking
A. S.
Food was good value for money, no cash card only.
B.
Nice restaurant to have drinks and a lunchtime meal here when you like somewhere to go.
P. S.
Yes a lovely place to wonder round, pick up bits.
Very nice coffee shop, few independent shops that sell very nice clothes and framed pictures.
If they don't sell it you don't need it!
Certainly will be back for personal Christmas cards- very reasonable. Fab overall collection of cards, birthday, special occasion and anything else.
Decent collection of plants to.
Q. 1.
Really helpful people are hard to find these days but Cherry Tree has some of the best. Suzanne sorted my order over the phone which involved her rushing up to the storage yard and back a couple of times. She remembered my name, helped me load my vehicle and then rang me v the following day to see if I had got home safely. Now that is first class service. I'll be going back. Thanks Cherry Tree, and thanks Suzanne. 😊
c. w.
Decent garden centre good for a look round. Sweets purchased from here tasted odd though.
V. W.
Not just a garden centre, all manner of household goods, clothing, car wash accessories, furniture & crockery. Too many items to list. Called late December & Christmas stock massively reduced.
G. N.
Great place for all your gardening needs and more!
Only problem is it gets so very hot in there in the summer you just want to leave!
S. R.
We paid a visit early this morning (24/03/2022). It wasn't our intention to buy any soil improver this visit but noted some on offer so decided to make a purchase. My husband has been very poorly and isn't currently strong enough to lift heavy things and although I can usualy manage, 8 bags was a bit much so I very reluctantly decided to ask if a member of staff could help.
The two members of staff who helped us were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and they showed such compassion to my husband who was so grateful for the help.
This type of service is what keeps customers returning and it was a real pleasure. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both of you. You are a credit to the business
T. H.
Some lovely plants ornaments but on the pricey side
A. W.
Very few disabled parking slots, gravel car parks, saying that it is a great place to visit with lots of choices to suit whatever your looking for, the cafe is great with good food.
E. J.
Very polite and helpful staff. Sells different things from plants and seeds to pots, rocks and slabs and out door and indoor furniture. Also sells bath fizzers and household things and sells plates, bowl and cups. Wine, beer, sweets, chocolate, toys and arts and crafts. It also has a cafe didn't go in but next time I go I will. Got three stalls outside one selling art work the other selling clothes and the third selling pies jams cakes things like that. Defiantly recommend going and having a look around I know I'm going to be going back soon.
D. H.
Not just a garden centre, much much more than that,, well worth a visit, you'll go again 👍
G. P.
Cherry Lane Garden Centre is incredible it is not just a garden centre it has almost everything that you can think of. From Cuttlery and Utensils, to toys and games all the way to home furniture beds, cabinets, draws and dressing tables ect. There is a vast arrangement of plants available for purchase they are well maintained and really healthy plants the are available to purchase at a great price there is also a Café if you need a cuppa or your feeling hungry. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area or are looking for some plants for you garden.
M. A.
A great garden centre. The restuarant is good too
T. H.
Not a bad garden centre, shame about the cafe though, rubbish food at extortionate prices, my partner had the ham and cheese panini, which had virtually no filling whatsoever and my daughter had the bolognese pasta, which looked absolutely disgusting and she didn't eat it, spoke to someone on the tills regarding this, and there reaction was appalling, also the toilets inside the restaurant was absolutely disgusting, don't think they'd ever been cleaned.. you could smell urine in the cafe area, which other people was complaining about.. very poor hygiene.. totally disgusted....
b.
Lovley garden centre, cafe is really nice however pricey as expected
J. J.
Lovely garden centre, nice coffee shop.
A. H.
Enjoy visiting Cherry Lane at Tickhill. Always find the customer service very helpful and polite. Had lunch in the Wellington Cafe which we enjoyed a light bite, but would like to see a more varied menu for example cheese on toast be put on the main menu.
T. B.
It's so much more than a Garden Centre. All sorts of things are sold from food, to kitchenware and tools to garden furniture. There is also nice cafe on site called Wellingtons. It does great coffee and cake as well as full meals.
D. a. M.
Well organised, plenty of choices and reasonable prices. Staff are helpful and the coffee shop is great. We recommend.
J. D. (.
Nice place to visit, not just a garden centre. It even has a mini shop for general household goods. lots of stock and many bargains. Staff are helpful and friendly. Did I mention the awesome Cafe, well worth a visit just to eat :-)
M. H.
Lovely garden centre and cafe, went for breakfast only to find out its card only!!! Not everyone just uses card, really dissapointed.
S. C.

s. b.
Nice Garden Centre albeit a bit expensive.
Some good deals on Multi purpose compost & soil enhancer which i purchased.
Gets very busy bank holidays.
C. P. (.
Friendly staff. A very large garden centre that also sells furniture, food and more. Great place to get Christmas decorations for both indoors and outdoors.
M. H.
Nice place its a place that's got everything you need
M. S.
Good range of plants at the moment. Cafe is good. Very hot and uncomfortable for me under the old part
J. B.
Well organised store and helpful staff. All sort of products for house and garden including food, furniture, household goods and crafts. Also garden centre which is awaiting more plants but set out well
S. B.
Well maintained plants for outdoor and indoor. A bit pricey but affordable. Good food saved inside and there is a play area for children while adults enjoy tea or coffee at the cafe. Big Aquarium as well. Wheelchair friendly and big car park.
P. A. H.
Went with parents to look at plants and Xmas lights, looked at other things while we were there.
D. W.
Loads of lights and decorations for Christmas but not cheap.
D. R. P.
Great place loads of different stock and items in one building great for a look Fantastic 4 all sorts of things and all sorts of occasions including Christmas decorations definitely recommend 👌
S. H.
Love the diverse range of products. The seasonal ranges are fantastic and the Christmas department is brill. We took our Grandsons with us and they loved the enclosed lights and decs. Will be back with them to see Santa closer to the time. We have shopped here since it was Tickhill garden centre and after the initial changeover to Cherry Lane we have watched it go from strength to strength. Parts of the store remind me a bit of Woolworths as they sell pretty much anything for anyone. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The concessions outside are like ships within a shop, and we have always had good good at the Wellingtons Café & Bistro-the hardest thing is choosing what to have!! Always recommend Cherry Lane to people who've never been before.
J.
Great place. Lots of stuff to look at and purchase. Good prices too. I love visiting here.
A. G.
Fabulous shopping garden centre. Restaurant the lot in here. Must go back with 3 hours to spare. It's enormous.
C. O.
Big selection on plants and shrubs. Also grocery and household items sold and reasonable prices. Helpful staff. It's a big place with plenty parking. Also has a big selection of pet products
A. S.
Unfortunately I had to return a piece of furniture. Disappointing as I've bought several pieces of oak furniture from here in the past. Not the fault of the garden centre though. Can't fault the staff as they are always friendly and helpful. Well worth a trip out there. Can't wait for the lovely cafe to open again too!
G. T.
A good time in a very busy shop/ Nurseries. Good deals good choice great coffee and panini snacks. Ham was excellent.
Get a Cherry lane discount card 👍
T. C.
Visited today lots of choice and a lovely shop selling loads of different items from food textiles even dog and cat toys. The plants are lovely and healthy
They have a lovely cafe with lots of outdoor seating. All covid rules carried out to a high standard.
G. M.
Prices are ok . Till staff need some training as it took 20mints to service us
B. F.
Good cafe pammies boutique fabulous
J. K.
Got everything you need + good breakfast
B. B.
Superb restaurant spoiled by allowing dogs in
R. E.
Definitely one of the better garden centres to visit.
Good choice of plants in healthy condition if a bit pricey.
Pleasant cafe with lots of outside seating.
Friendly helpful staff.🙂.
Toilets a bit messy ☹️.
Point of interest ...the only sad or dead plants I saw were in the centres own displays.
Just down the road if you are in the Bawtry area.....R😀😎R.
L. S.
Great cafe and love the garden centre
A. A.
Plenty of choice of various goods, cafe is a nice place to relax and have a drink
P. C.
Garden Centre which is clean, with lots of variety, staff were polite and friendly.
M. L.
Got some compost today and picked up some bargain 50p plants that I'm going to revive. Fabulous selection of gardening needs. The crockery section also has some nice things. They have quite a selection of things. Good to browse. The tea rooms are great. Love this place. Worth going for a couple of hours out of the house. Plenty to see.
G. W.
This year's Christmas area is big, lots of choice!
B. S.
Went to the cafe and the food was lovely, homemade and good value
L. P.
Went to get some compost, always reasonably priced. Didn't have time for a good look round but they always have a good selection. Couldn't believe how busy it was for a Monday morning. Screens in place at counters and sanitiser station as you walk in.
M. B.
Great garden centre, loads of plants at reasonable prices. As with many centres there are also a number of other small businesses on site selling a wide range of outdoors type goods. Cafe and food great.
E. S.
This is a realy lovely garden centre and so much more! They have a large café with excellent food and good customer service. I'm going back again tomorrow with some visually impaired ladies, it's a lovely day out.
c. s.
No longer as cheap as it was, but still good quality products and friendly service
P. R.
Excellent garden centre selling all sorts of stuff, not normally seen at garden centres. Defo worth a visit. Must visit the cafe there superb.
S. C.
Plenty of choice and lovely food in the cafe.
n. m.
Pretty good. Prices are reasonable and the staff very helpful. Will be recommending to my clients.
G. B.
Not bad but gearing up for Christmas
R. P.
Went here for an early valentine's day. It's a lovely little garden centre and nothing was over priced like others. The cafe was really nice, the staff were lovely and we got a bit of a deal on the breakfasts. Service was fast and the food was really nice. We definatly be back with the little ones in summer. Next time I will be trying a cheese scone as they looked and smelt amazing. It was a really nice start to a lovely day
N. C.
Excellent garden centre, and much more. Lower prices than other garden centres and sells food, furniture, clothing ,pet care, toys plus more. Large café. Most of the garden centre is under cover. Took a few hours to walk around all of it. Recommended for an afternoon out.
M. B.
Haven't done this for years and it was fun. Strawberries were plentiful and delicious.
D. C.
Excellent garden center. Not only selling plants and gardening equipment but food, clothing, pet supplies, house hold goods and products.
Plenty of parking. Prices seem very reasonable the staff are very friendly and helpful. These is also a cafe to brag a cuppa
Very nice experience.
J. E.
Great prices .& choices . Let down far too hot to look arround so you after rush to get outside
J. H.
This place is an excellent garden centre plus home comforts cafe excellent
A. B.
Very pleasent to do some shopping here, plenty of choice both with plants and in the main, east enough to get round with a wheelchair or a pushchair, there are independent business on site selling food etc, only downside for me was it's a slow process at the checkout.
J. G.
The cafe and service is to a good standard, that also takes into consideration of Covid 19. They make a good coffee so don't miss out! The items in the garden shop were relatively cheap and the hanging basket bought was quite nice.
K. M.
Pleasant range of every type of goods. You have to visit to be amazed at the things they have on offer.. Locally, if you're thinking of something you want, Cherry Lane is usually your first stop, to find it.
s. g.
Love this place, had a dinner it was lovely, they not only do plant's and everything for your garden, gifts, food, home and kitchen things and so much more,if you go make sure you leave enough time to walk round

Lovely place, could easily spend a full day there. Food is top quality too, will go back very soon.
E. A.
Amazing variety of flowers and other items from household to garden to confectionary etc and amazing customer service aswell 😀
S. G.
Good selection of Christmas decorations, Christmas cards, wrapping paper, bows , boxes, bags everything you would need . Also got a really good light selection .
H. H.
Good garden centre but so much more!! Wellington's cafe is great for breakfasts and light lunches or snacks. Will visit again
W. S.
We were doing something else in the area and went in because we'd been to another Cherry Lane in Bunny, which we had loved, but were quite disappointed in this one. It was really difficult to figure out where the restaurant was although we were happy enough with what we had. We also didn't find the garden centre particularly inspiring although they do have a big selection in the store in general and some quite nice small shops within the outside area
a. M. B.
Had a nice lunch in cafe
S. L.
Absolutely fabulous Breakfast with Santa wonderful well organised Great Magician helpful Elves great service breakfast delishes Fantastic Santa we all loved it very magical Merry Christmas 🎁🎄🎅
A. w.
Nice tidy centre lots of helpful staff has a good cafe on site. Huge choice of products and nice Christmas gifts and decorations.
Plants are unfortunately over priced so I rarely buy my stock from there.
S. M.
Lots of variety of items to choose from from pet supplies, groceries, plants, agregtate up to vegan delights at the small patteserie. Staff appear to be younger and knowledge of plants etc is limited. It's local and I do enjoy a wander round.
J. M.
Very well stocked garden centre with lots of choice. This was our first visit and will not be our last! Could not believe how reasonably priced everything was. Obviously spent more than intended, but came away totally happy with lots of goodies!
B. C.
You can get most things here. Great range of cleaning products and other household stuff! Garden furniture galore, some good prices too! Everything you need for your garden and more! I'd like a bigger range of houseplants, not much in that department.
M. C.
An enjoyable visit to the garden centre. Plenty of choice also has a cafe the food smelt delicious although I didn't eat there.
N. s.
It's a garden center, much like garden centers et al no cheaper. No new expensive. O it has a bargain depot /shed place. Sometimes stuff in there is very cheap. Coffee mugs for 10p and stuff
H. C.
Pleasant to walk around and see variety of indoor but mainly outdoor plants and garden items, if weather nice sit outside at cafe with tea and cake.
J. S. (.
Garden centre pretty basic as a building and pretty random in layout but ... lots of brilliant products for sale both inside and outside the garden centre, also some interesting independent retail units as you go towards the cafe. I went not looking especially to buy but actually bought lots!
S. L.
Lots of variety of merchandise available. Nice cafe, good quality food.
c. b.
Nice garden centre, not to loaded with stuff you don't really need.
When I visited it was a hot day and plants seemed a bit lacking of lustre from a previous visit.
Competitive prices with quite a lot to see.
An odd rareity hidden here and there.
Worth a visit.
Nice too room.
M. T.
Was surprised at the size of it, plenty of choice for Christmas, gardening and home decorations, cafe and small shops inside, good place to visit.
A. H.
A really lovely little garden centre.
It's definitely not the place to go for indoor plants but they have a huge selection for outdoors and the cafe serves lovely food, is very reasonably priced and has really nice welcoming staff - plus the coffee is great!
D. W.
Its more like a cheap, down-market supermarket than a garden centre.
They carry an amazing range of stock, some cheap, some not...buyer beware.
Queues tend to build quickly and can be slow to clear.
It is certainly worth a visit...
g. b.
Ideal place to do a bit of shopping for home and garden friendly staff always helpful and nice cafe we go there quite regularly
S. W.
I was really disappointed with the Caffe I ordered chips and coffee when I returned with the coffee the chips had already arrived was just warm not the first time they have been just warm then I had to go and ask for a fork to eat the chips and spoon to stir the sugar so think I will give it a miss for a while ,not a happy customer .
M. B.
Nice garden centre, with a nice cafe. Service is a bit slow though.
K. G.
Lovely little garden centre plenty of choices for in door and outdoor plants. The gift shop was lovely to walk around .
C. D.
Lovely garden centre with lots to do and great food too.. Also some of the products available are very reasonably priced. Just maybe pay them a visit on a nice cool day after all it is a greenhouse 🙂😁
L. 5.
Nice place for a wander around they have quite a few bargains although limited and patchy. Staff are quite lapse and not too friendly in my experience. Café is great really good home cooked food really yummy and their staff really are friendly in there.
L. G.
Great garden centre lots of different things to see a lovely cafe and large store selling food, homewears, clothes, hardware and pet food. They are just starting to get a christmas stock area and Santa's groton at the end of November.
D. T.
Like most garden centres they sell a great deal of other things not garden related. Decent cafe with good Covid19 guidlines unlike the shop.
k. r.
Bits of everything from garden to household furniture. Love the bargain shed. Got some lovely bargains today.
R. F.
Although I don't live far away, I rarely visit here. I can honestly say that is going to change from now on. The improvements that have been made since my last visit are very welcome.
I'm disabled in a wheelchair and often find places like this challenging, but today I only had 1 problem down 1 aisle and it could easily be solved. Please keep rotary stands out of aisles. It narrows them and makes it awkward for wheelchairs to get passed.
The cafe is a vast improvement on how it used to be, I loved it, so much more space and proper toilets now too.
We will be visiting again very soon.
H. F.
Excellent for a plantaholic like me, wish the outside space was more wheelchair accessible.
R. P.
Great garden centre has good range of indoor, outdoor and even pond plants. I have picked up many bargains when plants have been reduced in price, I got 3 orchids for £0.99 and they are flowering again. Lovely cafe too and little shops outside.
A. B.
Lovely Garden Centre. Loads of plants to choose from. Reasonably priced as well.
Cafe was good. Loads of room for prams and wheelchairs. However there was a VERY long wait at the till.
K. D.
Very good garden centre, it has everything you need. Well worth a visit. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
J. W.
Lots to buy however, in many many cases your lucky to find the price associated with the product. Some staff very helpful and go out of their way to help.

After 10 or more years meeting family here that drive a long way, I will not be visiting again any time soon. Made to look a fool and embarrassed beyond belief by a checkout operative who told me, no BELLOWED at me for attempting to pay for a photo frame with 3 £1 coins and a 50p piece 'It was unhygienic' while she started shaking with fear waving her hands and generally making sure everyone could see and hear what was going on. This place accepts cash and cards. I was mortified. Previously a 4 star review and now rated at 1 star, it will be a long time before I spend my hard earned CASH here again.
Sorry!
UPDATE:
Been today to spend a few hours with Mother and it was pleasant enough but packed! Met up with some friends and no issues at the till with my £10 note. I've upgraded the rating to 3 stars.

It can argued these days that for an apparent garden centre it trades more like a Wilko store really...I remember it's early 80s tickhill garden centre days when it was an affordable one stop for absolut anything aquatic and an excel pets corner..
C. S.
A very large garden centre which sells everything from garden supplies to garden furniture, homewares and even inflatable Jacuzzis. I visited to look at garden furniture specifically so will return at some point soon.
P. M.
Huge Christmas decorations department plus lots for home, garden & camping equipment & not too expensive either
j. w.
We only went to the cafe inside to it was lovely the food came fast and was as hot as it needed to be. The taste was above average I would recommend to anyone. The service was just ok no smiles but they were still polite and willing to help
K. R.
Excellent service all round, very helpful about plants. Cafe/restaurant lovely too. Keep up the good work
S. G.
There is loads more that gardening stuff. The plants are good. Food very good, but had to que for my coffee with everyone that wanted something to eat made there mind up.
Sells things like pet food, pots and pans, crockery, furniture, Shoes, grocery's, huge areas of alsorts.
Well worth a trip.
K. C.
Very good and reasonably priced for a garden centre but always red hot in warm weather needs air con
J. E. C.
This shop is wonderful, get inspired by the different designs and displays. Everything from tools, flowers, paving, furniture, food and lots more.
V. S.
great choice of veg and flowers, including grafted plants for higher yield. excellent service too, they are happy to answer any questions and provided large tray to transports all the pots we bought.
C. S.
The garden centre had plenty of choice of items & were using social distancing measures. However it was a warm day & it was far too hot inside, no aircon or anything! By the time I had gone through the checkout & out of the door, I was nearly passing out & had to sit on the nearest bench which was actually for sale. I had to otherwise I would have been on the floor! Nobody came to see if I was ok even though a staff member was stood outside. When I had recovered a bit which was at least 15 minutes later, I had to ask if she could carry my shopping to the car. She did & another 10 mins later when I felt well enough to drive home, I left. So it wasn't the best experience there - if they'd had aircon I might not have felt bad in the first place.
A. C.
I loved this centre it had everything in it from furniture n bedding to toys nornaments and food items. Then the cafe was great to go for good the first time I had the carvery and today had a vegetarian breakfast, all served with polite friendly staff.
G. T.
Lovely coffee and cake. Looked lovely all trimmed up for Christmas and was busy to say it was about 3pm on a Monday but struggled to find a clean and clear table. They were all littered with plates and cups 😕
P. B.
Some great things at great prices, plants and pots a bit expensive. Great that they’re dog friendly!
G. C.
A garden centre describes it partly as it's certainly not a nursery. Plenty of plants but on my visit they appeared dry & some looked as if a drink would be welcome. Nobody in the plant section to give advice or just help. However the garden was only a portion of these premises with a large are devoted to household items, stationery & bric a brac of cheap quality. Not really for me.
P. S.
Very good prices for a garden centre, not a rip-off. Loads of different merchandise for sale. Staff brilliant.
C. A.
This is a large garden centre but one that is very much focused on shopping than plants. It is more like a Willis or homebargins in the range of produce. There is a cafe on site which we didn't try. If your after plants, it is not the best but great for sweets, book, household curtains etc...
D. C.
Great range of products, the cafe out back has really good food.
J. R.
First time there was really impressed with the selection of goods to buy and the food very good .
a. A.
Good prices. A bit unexpected when you walk inside to see such household products for sale. Plant prices are cheaper than many other places around. fab cafe and food. What more can you want?
j. F.
well stocked
enjoyed breakfast
J. R.
Firstly the Resteraunt was great as was the polite and friendly service. Shopping in shop was fine but the service at the cash out left a lot to be desired. Not once was I directly spoken to whilst putting goods on counter, subsequently paying with cash, change received and transaction finalised. Never asked if I wanted a carrier bag and not one word spoke until I walked away and shouted back with a Thank You. Got a belated thank you as I was walking tot your exit. The whole time your assistant was in a conversation with one other of your staff regarding the why's and wherefore as to why they were not taking their partners to your staffs Christmas Dinner or something on that lines
Guess I am of the old school where a customer always came first and last and was the reason one had the job of a Shop Assistant !!!!!. Never been treat in that way before.
H. S.
Extensive shopping section with some good bargains to be had in home wears and cleaning products
Cafe is v.good and home made cakes and scones delicious
Out door section and plant selections also v good
J.
It a very good garden centre offering loads of high quality plants, tools, groceries, kids toys etc, they've got the lot here.
R. C.
Really great place, lots of variety and choice. Has virtually anything you need for house and garden.
D. P.
Good stock and lots of it nice friendly staff. Good restaurant
D. L.
Good selection for the garden. There's also tools, car care, bird food etc. Plenty to keep your attention.
S. W.
Big garden centre and great choice
Onmly down side is when I asked a member of staff for some help he said he had to radio someone from the department he tried three times and nobody answered him so I had to find the product myself need more staff
D. W.
Good range of products and decent prices, loads of parking and friendly staff.
A. F.
Lovely garden centre. Good selection and quality of plants. Great homeward section too. Have to check what is charged though as on more than one occasion items have scanned at higher amounts.
D. U.
Very good garden centre always enjoy our visit here. Should be taking cash in the restaurant not everyone wants to use cards
w. 2.
The cafe is fantastic the plants are really exorbitant prices twice as dear as band q so we left and went there .
A. T.
I love this place, but you need a car to get there from where I live, so need a lift. But if I could I would go at least once a week, but would still need a car to bring home all the stuff I would end up buying, including gag gifts.
V. “. R.
They stock a massive variety of things. From food from recognised suppliers, household goods, clothing and shoes motor and diy accessories oh and garden supplies. The good thing is the prices are as low as anywhere else brilliant value for money.
S. A.
Just a quick visit for some daffodil bulbs. Will be back for better look. Seem to have a good range of items. (Including Christmas!!)
C. W.
Staff always look fed up and rushed. just like a b&m really with more expensive furniture .plants selection seems to get less and less everytime you go.its ok if you want the basics of anything .not somewhere you would go if you wanted something different.reasonable prices ,though quite alot of things arent priced.
J. f.
Used to be a great place to visit but has gone downhill. Too much emphasis on selling household items & food. Don't look after the plants outside properly.
C. C.
Good selection of plants, garden equipment and lots of others. Food, kitchen equipment, furniture..... Lovely cafe
J. T.
Always enjoy visiting this garden centre and all the christmas things in at the moment are great. Only trouble is there's too much to choose from!! The restaurant is great too and sunday lunch is lovely. Would certainly recommend it.
T. H.
They have a good range of garden furniture and products.
As well as many plants and flowers
L. P.
Really lovely place, loads of products quite cheap! Cafe was lovely and staff are so friendly. Other customers were a bit snobby when smiled at though...
l. w.
Bit disappointed but it's that time of year again so better next time. Been again today pick up some bargains bit of tender loving care will help 🙂
I. W.
Limited plants etc, but a large Xmas stock. Value for money and obviously similar to other Cherry Lanes. Good parking and easy access.
J. M.
Usually quite busy especially on weekends but does have a large selection of plants, furniture, tools and other outdoor activities.
A. G.
Can get busy but on the whole it's a good place for plants and has a well stocked shop too plus coffee shop which is open in normal times
d. b.
It's alright. Generic and the plants are bit too expensive. I only pop in for the sale section. They also have an indoor section selling housewares... feels a bit like Wilkos. Stay away from the cafe. It's was dirty when I popped in for a cup of tea.
D. T.
Warm welcome awaits! Great, went in for demineralised water and they had 5 litre containers if it. Hand sanitizer and safe distancing all under control. Thanks.
M. R.
A lovely garden centre with a wide variety of products and alot at reasonable prices
Always enjoy visiting
B. I. M.
Fantastic place to browse. As well as plants there is homeware, clothes, shoes, food, furniture etc. Easy to spend a few hours and money 😁
J. B.
I visited Cherry Lane at Tickhill on Monday with my mum. I was looking for a garden table and chairs. We were served by a lady called Tina, she was exceptional and nothing was to much trouble. She got us a excellent discount and i personally would recommend.
Thanks Tina 😎
c. b.
Good place to shop plenty of stock and the onsite cafe meals are really good
D. J.
My mum loves a little shopping trip here. Nice friendly staff and good choice of plants. Nice food in the cafe too.
E. G.
Great shop! Lovely place to have a wander around! Especially at chrismas!
Huge variety of items to purchase. Cafe is pricey though
S. S.
Cherry Lane is the best garden centre around. It's huge. Lots of plants, lots of garden essentials, lots of homeware, a pet section, a kids section, a good range of books and clothes. Then there are the little huts of independent sellers outside, they are amazing! As well as a huge building full of sale/discount items. And to top it off, Cherry Lane is also home to Wellingtons Bistro. What more could you ask from a garden centre. Go for the plants, stay for the experience and the bargains.
R. P.
Really good garden centre with most things you could need and at reasonable cost. Our regular and happy with it.
j. o.
Some health and safety issues at different areas in this shop.
However prices are very competitive.
K. G.
Plenty of plants, bargains prices! Very good quality!! Recommended!!!
N. G.
Nice place to visit when wanting to pass an hour or so. Great garden centre.and also a great cafe. Plenty of effort put into the store at Christmas making it special for the kids.
A. P.
First visit for a year and a pleasure to see well stocked of all the items I needed, excellent choice of this years plants to fill your garden
K. H.
Just should not of taken the grandkids as we spent too much. Thought it would just be full of plants but is well stocked will toys and sweets as well.
M. S.
Excellent multi goods garden centre. Great selection of plants and seeds tools and foods. Also dog friendly except the food section, obviously for health and hygiene reasons!
S. P.
Tickhill garden centre has a good variety of plants at a reasonable price also they sell lots of different things food , household items and DIY hardware , I would highly recommend a visit to the cafe where there is a good selection of hot food ,cakes and drinks at an affordable price
J. P.
You can get unusual items of food, chocolates and jams etc at Cherry Lane Tickhill. Can particularly recommend the 99p box of liqueur chocolates with Jim Beam in the middle, they are so smooth and gorgeous. There are 15 in a box.
J. B.
Wonderful place plenty to look at and passed a day on also food good and competitive.
V. L.
Well spaced tables in the café. Good coffee and refreshments. Excellent shopping experience.
C. E.
Excellent garden centre,
A. L.
A wonderful garden centre full of plants and equipment to grow plants. We grow our plants in our garden usually, and the range of gardening equipment on offer at cherry lane has not yet disappointed me when I've visited to buy equipment to use in my garden to grow plants, or to buy plants to plant in my garden using the gardening equipment I've either previously bought here, or have planned, or do plan, to buy here in the future to use to grow plants or plant plants in my garden where I plant or grow plants.
D. B.
First time. My daughter took me and we had a lovely day looking round can't wait for the Christmas shop to open
S. D.
More of a shop than a garden centre but spot on
D. S.
My favourite shopping venue, with a large variety of household goods, tools, toys, hardware, sweets , food plus gardening products. Wellingtons restaurant and small shopping village. Extremely large capacity car park.
A. W.
Decent location, a plethora of stuff, not many plants but that may be due to the time of year. Certainly massive amounts of space for plants just empty shelves.
h. a.
It's a very friendly happy Garden Centre were the staffer so welcome in and helpful and the cafe does the most gorgeous homemade cakes and food
M. E.
1st visit and it was very good . Lots of gardening goods plants seeds etc but also home goods including furniture.Cafe was excellent with snacks and hot food service very good and friendly . A few little independent shops too selling food and clothing . We are already planning another visit .
C. F.
Lots of different items to choose from, pleasant experience & nice food in Wellingtons 😊
K. P. D.
First time visit great store great prices they have a reward card .Linda a sales assistant was extremely helpful Five stars for her also 👍😃
J. L.
Great variety of items. Bought dog chews, marmalade and plants. Great coffee too !
D. F.
No problem with the garden centre itself, but the Wellington bistro has been very disappointing the last 2 times we've been for a Sunday lunch carvery especially the lady serving it! - her attitude, facial expressions & rolling of the eyes are unacceptable and we will NOT be visiting again for a while!!!
P. W.
This is a lovely place from seats to stationery and peat to plants , there isn't much this place doesn't sell . Can even have lunch thats when the cafe opens again .
r. b.
pleased to say last visit a week ago starting to get a lot more plants in and variety not a specialist nursery as use to be but ok for popular varieties good eating area and like most centres a mini supermarket
E. R.
Great value plants, they also have a lovely cafe out the back that sells great food and drinks. At Christmas they have a brilliant selection of trees, decorations and outdoor lights.
P. M.
Plenty of stock. Many varied items. Good prices
D. M.
We regularly pop in to sample their excellent coffee and cakes. Never disappoints. Always clean, comfortable with good service.
j. T.
Good sized Garden centre. Garden equipment supplied, including tools and clothing. A little DIY section as well as food and household. All at reasonable prices
M. T.
Could do with an update, looking a little dated and run down.
A. L.
Vast array of things to buy all in one store. After my visit today I can only say it just keeps getting better.
S. C.
Great atmosphere with Santa in the entrance
M. W.
Pleasant shop but a bit disjointed. Reasonable quality plants, excellent seed potatoes...but sadly no Swift first earlies. Good price seeds.
P. M.
Excellent shop/garden centre selling a wide range of items.
J. E.
Expensive but puts a smile on my face. Lovely cafe. Clean loos. Great variety of all sorts in shop.
M. C.
We had a all day breakfast it was superb highly rate this place I will be going again very soon
T. M.
Martin very helpful. Gave lots of gardening advice and helped with planning our garden. Other members of staff rude and unhelpful when we asked for help.
P. T.
Great range of products and helpful staff.
Concern to how hot and stuffy it is tho.
Air con could do with sorting
H. r.
Lovely place , very reasonable prices, lovely cafe , will be going back
M. T.
Your assistant phoebe was really helpful and friendly such a credit to you and helped us fully with our enquires and helped us to the car even we are young and able to do so such a really young helpful assistant wish there was more like her well done 10/10 thanks
C. C.
Well laid out, pleasant and helpful staff, great product range except for lack of vegetable plants.
D. T.
It was ok the food was not bad but nothing to write home about. The santa wasn't very good he couldn't even say my grandaughters name. I do like the Xmas bit they are not over priced
M. W.
Sells everything 😄. Not everything however is cheap. Nice to wander around to pass the time. More staff on tills would be good. Great for plants.
J. M.
This place sells lots of lovely items all at bargain prices plants garden furniture pots also clothes shoes kitchen items bedding food and lots lots more
D. P.
Great experience, bit warm in the summer months.
A. G.
Very busy at it's the run up to Christmas but very helpful staff who went to the stockroom to look for some lights that weren't on the shelf.
D. P.
Great little place for All sorts of goodies Not just garden related and a great cafe too. A must visit on a Sunday afternoon Or any other day really
J. L.
Went for the end of season sale as we went to the Cherry Lane in Beverley, a little disappointed. What was on sale in the Beverley branch was full price at this branch. We did a price comparison on 1 sale item that was on sale in both at there was a £3 difference, tick Hill branch being more expensive. No consistency across branches.
This store has a great layout and cafe and few independent shops too.
J. N.
So much choice, great place to visit, for all your home and gardening needs. Love it. Purchased 3 pots and plants and orbs.
S. M.
There is a good selection of reduced Christmas items, including singing Santa's and real Christmas trees. The hot and spicy cheese from the unit near the cafe is delicious. The cafe was very busy as expected this close to Christmas.
A. M.
I love mouching around cherry lane...every time I visit family it's on the agenda to go...so much variety of everything...even if I don't buy anything, which is very rare lol...I always find something, I still love going and picking up ideas for my home and garden...well worth a visit...
J. R.
Big variety of items from home to garden to pet food and accessories, well stocked with Christmas things at the moment,Staff are very helpful Joe,Julian and Suzzane are particularly helpful, also good size restaurant for having a meal or cake and coffee, would definitely reccommend
S. L.
You want it, they sell it !
Great selection of products from geraniums to mole grips and everything in between.
Ample parking and excellent pricing.
J. T.
Very pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Good variety of garden/ household needs and lovely cafe with a variety of drinks and food. Wheelchair friendly.
l. M.
Lovely garden centre with really nice plants and very good prices, varied selection and the pots and troughs are very cheap. There is a cafe behind it separate but found it to be very expensive.
A. L. a. S.
Has what you need as long as you do not need advice on plants. The staff seem thin on the ground and not too knowledgeable about the plants. The paving outside is difficult to navigate with a trolley as it's very uneven. Sadly now they have taken a large chunk of the floor space for Christmas tat.
D. H.
Always crowded masks a rarity. Many items not priced up ask if you can find an assistant
L. F.
A lovely welcoming Garden centre. Lots to see and a fantastic little cafe that makes amazing hot chocolate. ONE of my favourite places to visit.
L. P.
Lots of products. Homeware, clothing, garden, pet products. Large and airy building.

We couldnt get over the size of this 1, it's not just a garden centre with loads of variety plants pots & containers but clothing stalls outside as well as in, the restaurant has a very good selection & lasagne also 8oz gammon was cooked 2 perfection, it's not a place that ull see in an hour or 2 it's 1 of the best we've seen in ages

J. w.
A nice garden centre with a huge variety of plants that are all in good condition if not a little pricey.
M. C.
overall what you would expect for a farm style shop. I personally don't like how they seem to be selling a little of everything now (like a shop) but perhaps that's just me 🙃
B. E.
Lots to see, if you are looking for a bargain and great variety of stock this is the place to visit. Nice cafe with decent food. Never a hardship visiting Tickhill, a beautiful place.
S. H.

Quite cheap for a posh garden centre

M.
Visited late afternoon and centre was fairly busy. Covid rules being followed. Staff were very attentive and helpful
P. K. D.
Loverly morning or afternoon out. The staff are helpful and mostly polite. Only drawback it's like an oven could do with some fans
S. H.
Smashing place to look round with lots on offer but I found some of items for sale a little tacky and what I wouldn't expect for sale at such a place....seems to me this place is drifting away from what was a very good garden centre...in my opinion
C. T. W.

Good to look around. Lots of different goods and flowers (in spring & sumner). Has a very good bistro and a few vendors in some cabins.
