Really nice garden centre with a little bit of everything. was my first time visiting today and it was great. The cafe inside has a nice menu with a good selection of food that suits everyone, plus the foods all made to order 👍. ✅ Great parking, it helps if your a terrible parker like myself ✅ Food was spot on ✅ Really nice place to spend a couple of hours

Starting with the restaurant side, it's always nice, the food is always been very very nice, and if ever you've a 'minor' complaint, then it's seen to right away. The staff are attentive and polite, efficient and attractive. .... the garden centre side of the "Garden Centre" is full of great plants that are obviously well looked after. It has ....... let's just say it has everything you would be looking for, and few things that you wouldn't expect. All in all a pleasurable place to visit. * I’ve decided to edit this review (and it’s all in the PLUS side) .... last Christmas (2021) we nipped in and had afternoon tea. I was FIRST CLASS, let me give you a comparison of somewhere else we went “Lochgreen” in Troon. The surroundings were different in Lochgreen, there was a Harpist & Classical Guitarist playing music for us. Everything else ; the Teas / Coffee (you got ONE cup in Lochgreen) the sandwiches.... hhmmmm they were OK, in Calders they were delicious!! , Lochgreen cakes .... disappointing, Calders cakes, Delicious!! The overall experience ..... it tips in the favour of Calders.... keep up the good work Nicholas & the team !!

I had booked in advance Afternoon Tea for 5 people on the 7th December and informing that one person was gluten/dairy intolerant and vegetarian. On arrival yesterday the booking was present but the kitchen staff had not been made aware of the dietary requirements. Sorry folks but thats a poor show for an advance booking. However the front of house staff were then excellent in sourcing what they could to ensure my daughter at least had something resembling an Afternoon Tea. The negative was that it did place a spotlight on my daughter in a busy restaurant. Result is that I can only award 3 stars this time instead of your usual 5.

It's an Oasis here. Lovely Garden Centre but the star of the show is the great value Cafe/Restaurant. Breakfasts are great value (2 full breakfasts for £15) and delicious, all the meals are good and the home baking is outstanding!

Get the high tea! Great value for money, delicious food and lovely staff. They always remember that my sister is gluten intolerant and have a wide range of food that is gluten free, including high tea! If the weather is nice, sit outside. The views over Glasgow are stunning.

Always like to visit when we're looking for flowers to plant. Prefer Caulders to Rouken Glen Garden Centre as there is never an issue for parking. Excellent selection of plants out doors and on the covered section. They have everything that you need for your garden. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Restaurant on site. Worth a visit.

Staff are very friendly in all departments of the garden center but my favourite is the cafe. Its amazing home cooked meals and they have a wonderful variety of cakes. They also have a takeaway service and also offer tables outside in the extension when we have good weather. Its suitable for people with disabilities as all areas of the garden center are accessible and there is always a member of staff close by. The staff are very knowledgeable about the products they sell and offer a delivery service if required. This is one of my favourite places to go to.

Just purchased a 6ft Fraser Fir Christmas tree. The Staff are are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. A good buy I think... last year I bought one a little cheaper from a local supermarket it hardly lasted till Christmas day and looked a bit Shabby to be honest. Think I will stick with Caulders in future. The tree looks great.

My husband and myself visit Caulders restaurant every Thursday and the food is Excellent! The staff are so pleasant and spend a few minutes asking how you are doing. Could not fault the food or the staff and manager Nico. You very seldom have to wait to be served as the staff are always on the ball. Thank you for making our visits so pleasant folks. Fantastic garden centre and cafe. I received excellent advice from the garden centre for my vegetable patch. The cafe is fantastic, food is always delicious and cakes are homemade, the only disadvantage is that dogs are not allowed into cafe, even the outside seating area however they are allowed in the outside garden centre area.

Went for coffee recently and was served my latte in a thimble sized latte mug. Not literally but definitely a miniature. Really I don’t think much can be saved by not using a nice sized, standard latte mug. Pity as the restaurant is well decorated with lovely staff. The drinks and snacks were very overpriced and the portions were miserly. It means we won’t visit again. There were lots of lovely plants but they were extremely overpriced.

I visited here looking for some planting inspiration. Although not very big, it is nicely laid out. The worst part is the access. Driving in, you go up a tight, steep chicane with poor visibility, hoping not to meet anything coming down. I went on a sunny day and had to wait for parking space, as both the main and overflow parking areas were full. This in itself is an indication of how popular the garden centre is. Despite not actually planning on buying anything, I still left with my arms full of plants.

Terrific service here today, I wish I had the assistant's name so I could thank her publicly for dashing to the cafe to pick up a selection of jams and marmalade for my infirm mother in law to choose from. Always lovely to visit here, we've enjoyed the cafe on previous visits. They have a lovely selection of plants from small to larger depending on your need (or patience) all looking really healthy. The widest selection of planters and pots I've seen in any garden centre and if you are looking for acers then this is the place to come. I also enjoy the wide selection of gifts that are available and if you are in the mood for a new accessory then you will find temptation! From a COVID perspective I felt super safe and they have great wee signs that say the usual but in a funny/quirky way.

Stopped for coffee and a bit of scran. Sat outside where the view is excellent except when you sit down cos you cant see over the fence unless your 7ft tall. So maximize the view by taking a bit off the fence. Plus burning rubbish doesn't help with the ambiance. The pea and ham soup was delicious though.

Great wee garden centre doesn't have a massive range of gardening items but enough of a selection to satisfy most. Restaurant is great and always busy. Good selection of food and fabulous cakes and pastries,and staff are always pleasant and helpful.On day of my visit I purchased an outdoor ceramic pot and was asked by staff on two occasions if they could carry it out to my car which really impressed me. Currently it has a fabulous selection of Christmas decorations and a range of jewellery,clothing, gift ideas and childrens books and toys,I really like the atmosphere here and love to visit. Cant reccomend it enough.

This is a lovely Garden Centre which is well stocked for the size and in a nice rural setting. At the restaurant lovely home made soup is served daily, along with other more substantial meals and a nice variety of cakes. If you like soup, you will love theirs. One of the staff an Australian chap seen i was struggling as i had been walking for at least an hour and brought a fold away wheelchair, which i only used to rest for ten. All staff excellent. Which I'm reliably told, it always is We were seated very quickly. With a Waitress at our table within seconds asking what we'd like to drink & eat. Our order was bought to us in a timely faahion. Overall a very good first time experience Would definitely recommend Caulders as the perfect place to grab some food with friends The views ... Well what can I say. Are absolutely stunning!! Lovely views but lunch average. Cajun chicken salad should be easy to get right. Lovely bits of chicken and plenty of them but the salad was disappointing, small portion of leaves which were limp. I had been looking forward to a lovely crunchy salad mixed with some Cajun chicken. Sorry guys wouldn't recommend this dish. Coffee was OK.

My daughter and I spent a couple of hours choosing plants with a member of staff called Lorna advising us. She was very knowledgeable and my daughter's garden has improved immensely already. The quality of their plants are second to none. We will definitely be buying our plants from this centre herein.

Caulders is a garden centre, and a good one to. It also has a restaurant and although the menu is not extensive, what they do, they do well. Pasta, Panini, fish,haggis neeps and tatties, cheese salad. Caulders is better than average,but, they might pick up on wee things, for example , the cheese salad had plenty of cheese, but, two oatcakes the size of a five bob bit was a bit mean, and no butter. However, cakes and coffee were first class. The servers also deserve praise and the view is spectacular. Remember, give it a go, and don't forget to take a packet of oatcakes with you.

Visited Caulders Newton Mearns on Sat 3rd Aug 19 to but plants for 2 new rockeries at my home. Met with a member of staff while looking for plants,she was knowledgeable, helpful,patient and basically helped me design my rockeries,unfortunately i didnt get her name but a massive thanks to her and its this level of service that will bring me back time after time.
