Reviews of Camden Garden Centre
V. N.
Such a quality place with more than reasonable prices! Also if you pop in during the weekend there’s a lovely couple selling fresh fruit and veg outside the entrance. The selection is amazing!
M. M.
Nice garden centre, full packed with a diversity of products and very well stocked, considering how hard is now for many garden centres to find some things. Prices above the medium, but plenty to choose. A big plus is the Sundries Department were I bought some hand tools and 2 books. Coffee shop was reopened today, Saturday 17th April, but only outside on the terrace. Car park area is big and easy to navigate.
A.
From now on this is my new place to go for any indoor or outdoor flowers😊 The endless choice of very beautiful and rare plants! 🪴💐🌻
M. D.
Stunning!!! What a great experience! Thank you for such an amazing customer service from the staff, they even served customers waiting in the que with free beverages! 👏👏 The plants were such a good quality and reasonable priced, compared with other garden centres! Cannot reccomand this place more!

Simply wonderful. I’ve only recently started coming here, me and my busy boys usually don’t have a clue what we are looking for or what will be useful.
We are clueless enthusiastic garden novices.
Staff 5 stars actually let’s say 100 stars, always warm and happy to help/give advice or hear my son yap on about his latest cool stuff!

Camden Garden Centre is a gem of a local resource. Operating strict procedures to be COVID safe, the staff are friendly and helpful with a good knowledge.
Their outdoor area covers most plants from borders to a full herb selection with multiple varieties of the same type as well aggregate, trellis and posts etc. They also have larger bushes and shrubs such as silver birch and olive trees.
Inside is a cafe as well as a full compliment of cacti, seeds, Gardena brand gardening tools and bbq. Pretty much anything related to gardening can be picked up here. Their prices are comparable to online so it’s great to support a local entity (this is a charity run centre) whilst getting hands on and seeing the quality which you don’t get with online purchasing.
There’s free parking out the front and when Covid safe a park next door with children’s play area as a reward for them coming shopping with you.
Payment is by card only and there’s multiple check outs so no queues. If you have a free members club card you can get discount and also we picked up free bulbs this time so and added bonus.

Easy to get to and centrally located, but more pricey compared to other garden centres in the area and in central London / your local big box store. This is partially because for houseplants, they sell baby plants and medium-large plants but few small plants. Plants all appeared to be in decent health.
One way system is ok but when I went it wasn't too crowded; signage could definitely be improved (e.g. a mini layout map about where in the building to find certain things), and some things e.g. soil were not price marked / were not in the place one expected them to be.
Baby plants (succulents, cacti, etc.) £3-5 so this would be a great place to get gifts! Most S-M plants around the £9-18 mark, plants in hanging baskets (pothos, hoya etc.) around £19-25, mature plants £35-50+. You can definitely get common plants of similar size elsewhere for less, but I did spot some less available varieties.
Lots of cute decorative pots ranging from about £4-5 for small ~7cm pots, £6-8 for pots 10-15cm, £10-18 for pots 17-20cm. Perlite and vermiculite 3L for $6+, 10L for £15. Not the cheapest but good if you need small quantities.
`
Good selection of young herbs £3-£6, and starters for outdoor bedding plants/perennials going 3 for £12. Supports, hoops and plant stakes £5-£10. Very good selection of terracotta pots and saucers, and lots of big outdoor planters! Lots of outdoor composts as well and many seeds.
C. S.
A lot of outdoor and Indoor plants, lots of cute pots available (a bit on the pricey side though) but really different from what you would find at Sainsbury's or supermarkets in general. Wide variety of plants from mini cactus to bonsai to bigger size models, also the place to buy plant food and tools that you would need for gardening. I like to go on Sunday it's not super busy and they also have a cafe upstairs where I like to sit down with a book and a hot beverage. Employees are also polite and helpful so a good place to go to.
J. B.
Love this place. Had what I needed, was easy to find, and people were kind and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back when it's time to plan next year's garden.
A. D.
A hidden gem of a garden centre. Very centrally located in Camden and only a 10ish min walk from Camden Town station. Great selection of indoor and outdoor plants and equipment. The cacti and house plants were all in very good condition with some fantastic varieties and species. A little pricey for the average consumer but if you're looking for a house plant as a gift or for a specific plant it has an abundance of choice.
A. G.
Really excellent selection, great prices
Updated for most recent visit. Poor customer service yesterday, the cashier wouldn't let me sign up for the loyalty program and was pretty rude.
The succulents looked TERRIBLE yesterday, they were really damaged. Disappointing.
A.
First time visiting today so didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised
Lovely selection of plants, cute pots, decent prices and friendly staff!
Will be back to pick up some more bits soon 😊
K. P.
Excellent garden centre with very helpful, friendly staff members.
We went there after finding no plants and no varieties of soil at Homebase, NW3. Camden Garden Centre 5 *****
M.
I come here for their succulent collection, so can't really comment on the rest.
It's a big garden centre selling everything from plants for flower beds to cactus. I have bought a couple of succulents from here. In the most recent visit they had a huge range of succulents. Although not sure if it's due to the hot and long summer, a lot of the plants were dehydrated and in poor shape.
It's a convient place to get garden things, but there are cheaper places for succulents. Did stop me from going home with a cactus in our last trip though!

We decided to visit the Camden Garden Centre this morning. A damp, cooler day was refreshingly welcome to walk around the tremendous range of very healthy plants. Helpful staff available, nicely uncrowded setting, logically displayed to locate easily, and very good value. Everyone - from the RSPB man at his booth near the entrance through to the lovely, appreciative guy on the cash desk - was ready to give time and advice. A really pleasant outing that led to a big purchase of twenty splendidly different plants!
L. M.
Great selection! Convenient and affordable. Worth a visit. They have loads of indoor and outdoor plants in all sizes and prices. Really amazing selection of succulents and cacti especially.
M. F.
Large variety of plants and equipment. Decent parking available. Helpful staff.
B. D.
This is a great garden centre. As another reviewer has said it’s a bit of a hidden gem. We have been coming here for years and always get our Christmas tree from the Camden Garden Centre. There is a huge variety of plants herbs and shrubs - always in excellent condition. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I recently ordered plants and herbs to be delivered. I had outstanding customer service from Peter Alex and Johnathon. Highly recommended.
J. C. C.
Got my spring delivery with everything I ordered. Was on time and the man who delivered it was cheery and very helpful. I'm in a lower ground floor flat with no lift and he helped me bring everything downstairs. I've been going to the Camden Centre for many years now and it is always a pleasure to be there. Everyone is very helpful and plant selection is great
A. T.
Great selection of plants and gardening essentials in the heart of London. My tulips and crocuses look splendid and lettuce and rosemary even survived the winter!
D. J.
Always been a nice place, but a lot of changes to the centre since the pandemic started. Cleaner, brighter, more space and better organisation.
D. H.
I was really impressed by the variety on offer. I looked online on various sites for indoor planters and the prices were exhorbitant, came here the quality in material and design exceeded what I saw online and prices were great value. I'd definitely recommend, one suggestion list everything online you'd do a roaring trade. Since my first visit ordered several large outdoor plants GT value for money and again impeccable service flexible delivery unlike most deliveries came to the 2nd floor and went out of their way. Quality, value and reliability 5 stars
A. S.
Just ordered compost and manure from the Camden Garden Centre. Had heard good reviews from our neighbours and decided to give it a try. From ordering to delivery, entire process was seemless and quick. Special thanks to Jonathan for the delivery and being very helpful throughout the process.
D. P.
Very good selection of outdoor and indoor plants of all sizes. Pots, garden objects, trellises, rocks, stones, bags of compost, soil, hoses, bbqs, etc. Good advice from the people there. Will deliver. Plenty of parking. Has a cafe too.
j. b.
Big area for car parking. Massive selection of plants, bonzai, exotic and even architectural plants. Staff are around to help but don't pressure you while browsing. They also have a cute cafe which is now open. Really worth the visit.
I. S.
I bought a very heavy angel garden statue. It got delivered to my address by Jonathan. It clearly was a job for 2 people. Jonathan was extremely helpful and found a way to carry it to the garden. He was really really nice. Thanks a lot Jonathan. You did a great job!!!
A. C. (.
Superb garden centre! The best in London so far..
Well organised, great selection of plants. The guys working at the café are very professional and welcoming and the new outdoor terrace is a little heaven. Love this place!
H. A.
A great garden centre in a great location. The plant area is fantastic with a great range that are well looked after. Staff were very helpful and friendly in the plant area as well as indoors. Overall, a great place but shame about the cafe Pritchard and Ure (I left them a review too). Worth a visit and I also read that they've been rated as one of the top 30 garden centres in the UK which I think is well deserved.
R.
We've used Camden Garden Centre for years. The staff are great and they always have what we need. They do however, particularly stand out at Christmas as we have ordered trees from them for the last 10 years - and we always get a great tree! Thanks for making our Christmas's so special!!
L. C. J.
Great variety of plants and equipment, ended up buying a few plants and pots. Nice garden centre. The staff were friendly and I intend to visit some time soon.
L. M.
Wonderful garden centre! I've got both houseplants as well as herbs for my windowsill. All are currently thriving! They have a great selection of plants, pots and other supplies. Would highly recommend
C. T.
We have been buying our plants at the Camden Garden Centre for years. We have been very happy with friendly and knowledgable staff and the quality of the plants.
When buying our Christmas tree on the weekend, the person assisting us could not have been more helpful. Many thanks :-)
S. G.
Such a fab place. Staff are SO helpful and knowledgeable. Great prices for central London and great range of stock. Cafe fab too

Wonderful garden centre filled with amazing beautiful great condition...
G. C.
Camden Garden Centre is a hidden gem in the neighbourhood. It's got everything I need from a garden centre. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. I do recommend joining their loyalty scheme. It's free to join. You can collect points and from time to time they'll send you a freebie or discount voucher.
P. A.
One of the best garden centres that I've been to with masses of unusual house plants (plus lots of outdoor ones of course).
It's not overly expensive and easy to reach by public transport.
S. N.
Recently bought 4 shrubs and a climber. All in excellent condition, they have established quickly and are growing strongly. Always have a wide range of great quality plants to choose from. Trellis also very good quality and style. Staff generally helpful but busy. Convenient, local, nice cafe.
K. O.
The Garden Centre looks beautiful from the moment you arrive outside (there are a few parking spaces- c12 - plenty on a Friday afternoon) and welcomes you in. It truly is an oasis of loveliness in the midst of a very busy part of London.
The contents do not disappoint! Great range of plants, pots and much more; range of sizes & therefore prices too. Staff extremely helpful - answered all our questions and then offered, when the heavens opened just as we were leaving, to unload all our purchases into the car while we sat inside it, out of the rain! We did not go to the café but the smells wafting downstairs were delightful. Covid security seemed excellent without being oppressive.
I hope no one reading this requires this help but, final shout out for the VERY kind man who, without fuss or as much as a raised eyebrow, rescued me and my mum by jump starting my car after I had idiotically run down the battery in the car park. Thank you - truly a knight in white shining armour!
O. E. W.
Nice and quiet today 25th August. Tuesday is a good time to visit. I bought my beans, corn and tomatoes plants from here and they are growing nicely. I use their organic plant feed, which is a bit pricey!
H. B.
Amazing from car parking distancing to insisting everyone takes a trolley - at least a metre long, to one way system. Staff v helpful, stock ... they're doing their best. Please support & hope cafe opens again soon. We need this inner city garden centre. Love it 🌶🍅🌵🌴🌱
F. C.
Great garden centre with helpful and freindly staff, the plants can be more on the expensive side but their selection always makes up for this. Sad to say though on my last visit I had a bad experience in the cafe, I made the mistake of trying to go up the stairs which I didn’t know had been changed to the exit, and I was rudely shouted at by a member of staff, I apologised and then re-entered through the lift, and she then continued to be rude to me and make me feel uncomfortable. I later found out she was the manager of the cafe, if this is the way she treats her customers I’m not going to go back again.

I came here for the first time after visiting Boma Garden Centre as I didn’t get much help there. I spoke to someone for guidance and she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
She showed me all of the items that fitted what I was looking for along with how to care for them. She was incredibly friendly which made me feel like I wasn’t taking too much of her time.
After a few days my tree started to wilt. I spoke to the centre and again were incredibly helpful in providing solutions. I will definitely make this place my go to place for my garden.
The centre also has clear rules during the pandemic to ensure safety. Hand sanitiser on entry, one way system, trolley at all times to help keep distance.
A. H.
Great selection and knowledgeable staff. Some items are a little pricey but this is to be expected as it is an independent garden centre.
E. R.
Fantastic selection of plants and the food in the little Café was outstanding. I definitely recommend the place.
H. B.
Plenty of choice here from mangetout to cactii though we couldn't buy a big ceramic saucer for my pot - why is it Garden centres always sell out of saucers faster than pots? A visit to the canal afterwards recommended.
M. R.
Fantastic spot in Central London for your gardening and houseplant needs. A good range of plants, pots and supplies at a reasonable price, well worth a visit.
C. G.
A great, and important part of the camden community. Lots of choice and knowledgeable staff - although they aren't always the best at customer service. It's rather expensive compared to other garden centres, but you can find everything you need here and you'll get good advice if you ask for it.
J. B.
Great to be able to go to a garden centre again, have missed the experience hugely. Having said that though, the prices seemed considerably higher than previously of most plants so I didn't spend a lot. For example, a few single bedding plants for £3.99, most other single plants from £4.99 but most at either £9.99, £11.99 or much more for medium to large size plants. Some divided containers of approx 6 small bedding plants for £4.99 - better value! Everything now on a one-way route so need to get everything first time round! Limited parking so we went late-ish around 5) & still had to wait a few minutes. No shopping baskets just cumbersome trolleys which are very difficult to handle - please, Camden GC, when you replace them get trolleys with 4 wheels, more like supermarket trolleys!!
T. P.
It's a great garden centre. The quality and variety are outstanding but the prices are through the roof. Good for special occasions but not for every day. The cafe there is really nice as well . Very very good coffee and service
a. o. p.
This review is mainly for the Cafe, as I have not really bought any plants here. This place is a lovely hidden gem. After not being able to stand being in a crowded library or noisy coffee shop to do my work, I decided to go off the beaten path and I am eternally grateful that I did! The cafe offers really grate food and reasonable prices and a really nice selection of teas. The staff has all been exceedingly kind, and the atmosphere of the cafe is a wonderful change of pace. Quiet, spacious, plenty of outlets, free/fast wifi, and natural light have made this my go-to study spot.
A. A.
They have loads of cacti varieties, a bit expensive though.
F. S.
Can’t wait to come back here! Wide selection of seeds and gardening tools. Lovely cafe upstairs
C. C.
You can almost find everything there! Equipments are not pricy but pot plants are very expensive compared with others ! Coffee and cake are excellent!
j. b.
Our local garden centre, been a customer for over 12 years, recently had their walkways resurfaced, so no more pot holes. They have a huge selection of every thing you need to care for your garden from plants, seeds, pots, decoration, fencing and tools and more. Lots of amazing house plants too, and the staff are always ready to pass on gardening and planting advice. I always feel I can approach them and ask for advice. Even if you dont need to purchase anything, its a beautiful green place to drop into for self wellbeing.. They do have a coffee shop.. Yes they can be exspensive, but this is the borough of Expensive Camden, and I suppose their prices reflect on the rates they have to pay to stay in business.
A. K.
Helpful friendly staff, a huge selection of outdoor and indoor plants and pots, and loads of space. Cafe is situated upstairs in a lovely mezzanine area. We had coffee and cake and chilled on the sofas for a bit. Coffee was really proper coffee, cake was delicious. Didn't eat this time but the savoury food looks great too. Service was a bit slow but it's the kind of place you want to hang out in and it's the right environment to do so on a lazy Sunday
m.
Great Garden centre with a good community ethos.
Only loses a point due to higher prices for the plants and seeds verses the local competition.
Cafe is a treasure!
F. R.
Camden garden centre has a large selection of indoor/tropical plants and outdoor plants, with most gardening accessories/composts/planters etc. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, they almost always have what I am looking for, and there is a small parking area outside.
In terms of price this is probably one of the most expensive garden centres in central London, especially for some of the indoor specimens that I have found much cheaper elsewhere. (For example, charging above £100 for a variegated monstera with 4 leaves).
The cafe is nice, but can be quite busy. If you are a member of their gardening club/scheme you get a free coffee every time you go - I will mention that the way they list their coffee is a bit bizzare and unnecessary - but the food is pretty good.
Overall this is a good all round garden centre and a nice place to grab some coffee/food if you aren't too concerned about a budget.
M. C.
Love this place. A huge selection of plants for somewhere so central and the cafe is excellent
G. R.
Excellent selection of succulents and cacti. Best I’ve seen in London.
S. S.
Great selection of plants, friendly staff and one way social distance system. Can't ask for more in a garden centre.
C. C.
Just got this nice pot for my plant, best place for plant lovers
E. G.
A little piece of heaven to escape Camden High Street.
Just great to find a place like that this central and serving a great purpose. This is a community garden and café that helps youngsters find employment when they face difficulties.
We buy a lot of plants there and often spend time in the café with some friendly robins :) it’s definitely worth a look.
J. K.
Bought two nice olive trees and asked if they could be delivered in Central London. The answer was 'of course'. The plants were delivered within 36 hours, to the door of my tower block apartment, by helpful Jonathan. Good selection of plants, and excellent service.
A. D.
An oasis in the city! Visited early June 2020 and the social distancing arrangements for Covid-19 are very well organised. As always with the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Cafe is closed at the moment of course. Expensive - but London, duh. Note that the last entry is ONE HOUR before closing.
D. E.
It's a really nice little garden centre. We buy our orchids there and love going there . There nice outdoor flowers and plants.
M. K.
An amazing café situated on the mezzanine of the Camden garden centre. Quiet, with natural lighting, some books great food for breakfast and lunch as well as great espresso. Not many choices, in terms of coffee, but they have perfected the different types of espresso. Great place to work, chill or go for a date. Right next to Regent's canal.
M. M.
Great variety of plants and gardening supplies
H. W.
Excellent selection of plants and equipment at reasonable prices. They're complying with new social distancing measures and have a smart system to ensure staff and customer safety
a. m.
lovely place - huge range of plants and other gardening items : looked in on the cafe - breakfast menu looks delicious - will be going back soon !
R. G.
Reasonably priced plants. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great cafe too.

N. D.
I love this place! Great plants to purchase and when you become a member they send you deals! I would like to visit more but I am good at keeping my plants alive!
A. R. K.
This place is fantastic and sells both indoor and outdoor plants, as well as garden furniture and barbecues. Can be a bit overwhelming due to the size, but the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Will definitely be back.
M. S.
Excellent garden centre. Helpful and friendly staff that offer great advice on choosing plants for your garden.
s.
thanks to toby at the centre for his excellent advice and hats off to jonathan for going above and beyond when delivering and carrying an olive tree up three flights and onto our balcony! loved the cafe too. will be back.
A. F.
Bought three very beautiful palm trees from here. I hope they live long. However the store is very big and there are so many, big and small and beautiful flowers. Also cheap and well grown.
b. g.
Loved it so chill could spend so long there
P. S.
Jonathan is a great delivery man. He provides a timely service whilst being courteous and conscientious of the challenges delivering in central London...yet another good reason to patronise Camden Garden Centre.
W. J.
Good store. Some things feel a bit overpriced but good selection of plants, tools and a nice little cafe.
A. B.
5 stars! I love Cambden Garden Centre. Quality plants and products. Lovely staff on the tills. A pleasure to visit every time.
S. H.
Good choice for all things garden related including house / indoor plants. Also has an indoor cafe and good book selection. Bit pricier than I'd like though
M. M.
The care and attention that the staff lavished on the flowers and plants was amazing the young lady that assisted me was very helpful will definitely will be using your garden centre again

Lovely garden center with a great variety and awesome cafe with great coffee and food (I was a little skeptical of eating at a garden center based on previous experiences elsewhere but this was really quite special.
E. T.
Super helpful staff, dog friendly, and I love my new plants!
J. W.
I went to the Garden Centre this morning and Carla, Josh and Judith could not have been more helpful.
They helped me to pack a bag of compost into my wheelie suitcase. And I bought a plant I had been hankering after for ages.
Why would I go anywhere else?
Thanks to all of you.
J. W. (.

I visited there today 20/12/2012 and got excellent service in buying a particular gift. Many thanks Camden Garden Centre - first class service.
J. F.
Not a very big selection of indoor plants but outdoor selection was very big. However everything was very very pricey which I am assuming is because of the central location.
D. B.
Big shout out to Jonathan & Luke for helping deliver the huge plant pot to me and getting it up 3 flights of stairs - deffo went the extra mile! Keep up the good work guys!
K. M.
Really happy with my beautiful fig plant, friendly service and helpful delivery

A little disappointing. Not much variety. But is end of summer and covid doesn't help. Will continue to support local businesses

A bit on the expensive side if comoared to other garden centers and with less indoor plants choice
