I called the shop because my cat kept ruining all my plants, I spoke to a lovely lady called heather who was really helpful and advised me on the best option. When I popped in I was then directed by a couple of friendly people to the same lovely lady I spoke to on the phone! Heather took me to the items I needed and even helped look if there were any better options for me. She showed me about the free loyalty card so I could get a discount next time as well and honestly just made the process so nice and easy I can’t wait to go back and get more plants😊 Picture of the naughty cat attached 🐈‍⬛

I really like visiting this store as they have a huge stock of Webber BBQ's. The staff are always helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I visited in January specifically to try and get a “January Sale” bargain but unfortunately the only deal that was on offer was to get point added to my Sunshine Garden Centre account that I don’t even have. Let’s hope next January some better deals are on offer.

I have been going to this garden centre for years and it is always a really nice experience. It is really well kept and you just feel magical in there. This is a place that you must visit and even have tea in the cafe.

An Atmospheric Independent Garden Centre with a charming character not found in the large chains. There's always plenty of very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff on duty, and the store offers a vibrant atmosphere lacking from the large chains like B&Q and Homebase. Stock is plenty abound from perennials to garden accessories as well as products not immediately associated with the garden. The store is always well kempt and merchandise attractively displayed. I highly recommend this place and would have given 5 stars but was dissuaded from doing so after reading the comment about the treatment of staff, which sincerely hope is untrue.

I was directed here from another garden centre even though it’s not close but really glad we came - even in winter there was tons of stock and the staff were super friendly. All in all a great experience - we’d come again and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

How can I make you smile today was the greeting I got when I called in. This place is a real treat for amateur and professionals alike m you can literally buy anything for your garden from water features, gravel, ornaments and they have a full Weber section with offers better than the cheapest I found on the internet. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. There is also a lovely cafe. Large selection of planters and pots, solar water features and mains powered options. Herbs, plants and flowers. Lots of garden furniture and high end options available too.

Wonderful garden centre with a huge variety of reasonably priced plants and just about anything you could want for your garden. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I came away with far more than I had originally intended to buy. Snails had eaten all my tomato seedlings so I was very happy to find tomato plants on sale at three for £2! Highly recommended

Really excellent customer service at every point; directions, guidance, help with moving large items, free delivery the next day. Honestly, 6 people helped me on a short but effective visit. Highly recommended. The reverse is true at neighbouring Alexandra Palace Garden Centre where staff are fewer, self-absorbed and generally standoffish. Do they actually know anything about the plants or care about the customers? I asked about delivery and was told ‘get a cab’ (in fact they will deliver). . It makes a big difference going to Sunshine, and the prices are more competitive. Bravo to the team there.

This is our local Garden Centre and we so appreciate the knowledgeable and helpful staff, the superb displays of every conceivable item for the garden and the large selection of high quality plants and shrubs. Yesterday l popped in to order some bags of compost and they were delivered today! We are looking forward to the Cafe reopening when allowed.

My friend and I go there very often. The prices are higher than in other places (B&Q, Homebase, etc), but the merchandise is also of higher quality and the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about plants. If you are looking for quality, this is your place. If on a low budget, probably it's better to go somewhere else, but at least do come in once to see for yourself.

Not been here for years since I lived in Palmers Green and I had forgotten what a fantastic garden centre it is. Dropped in for soil improver to plant a rose and could have come out with a hundred new plants all in superb condition. The Range of soil improvers was perfect for my needs and I know where I will be going for garden centre needs in future.

I would like to congratulate management for the layout of the Garden Centre, the one way system, entrance and exit. This certainly made my experience today most pleasurable. The staff member I spoke to was most attentive in regard to my requirements. I felt most assured when it came to paying for my items, with the distance being kept and the courteousness of the cashier. I have every confidence that the herbs and the lupins I bought will flourish. The wall flowers | bought last year were admired by many. Absolutely fabulous garden centre. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It has a lovely atmosphere and beautiful products. Just been to Santa's Grotto there. Santa and his elves are amazing. This place is the best experience ever. They make time and effort to make it a magical experience. The photos are good quality and fun. I can't praise this place enough. We've had a brilliant day choosing our tree, having a hot chocolate in the cafe, seeing Santa and looking at all the beautiful decorations in the shop.

Great selection of gardening goods. But the standout thing is the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. I have been advised about suitable plants for particular locations, plant feeds, etc. And on some occasions not to buy something (cheaper alternative). If you like to be treated like a valued customer this is where you need to be buying your garden supplies.

Very nicely set out Garden Centre. Everything was easy to locate. I was after specific house plants, which I bought, and they were reasonably priced. Nice quality too. Check out service was prompt and my plants were packed for me. Great service. I then went into the coffee shop, great coffee and cake. Again great service. I will definitely be returning.

I went back to the garden centre this week, and it was my first shopping outing apart from groceries since lockdown. They really take social distancing seriously here. When arriving, you receive a freshly sanitised trolley, you can clean your hands and the staff directs you to where you need to go. The staff is very polite, knowledgeable and happy to help with any queries. Well done.

This is my favourite garden centre. It's fabulous to have a look round and have lunch with your mum or make some serious garden purchases. The staff are incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. They also have a service where you just collect the name of the compost you want and when you go to pay they organise for it to be carried into your car. A lovely atmosphere band decent prices too. Highly recommended

My wife and I love Sunshine Garden Centre. We like to take our 1 year old daughter to the child friendly cafe on the grounds. It's a little on the pricey side but the staff are great and the menu is good. A jolly good afternoon out and great selection of plant life for your garden!

I love this Garden Center. Went here on coincidence almost as it was the closet garden center nearby when i was in the area. Staff were super friendly. Great selection and products. Store is very nice and much bigger than i suspected from the outside. When I went to pay 4 cashiers were open. I was the only one who was second in line and they even opened a fifth check-out just for me. Truly great experience and can really recommend it to anyone really.

This is a great garden centre in the city. Close to Alexandra Palace and Bounds Green. They have a really super Weber barbecue selections and some very knowledgeable staff. The selection of flowers is great and we really enjoy going there. The Christmas santa was also fun!

Needed advice about my new planted Privot hedge which is not doing well. A team expert was provided who viewed my photos and examined the sample leaves I had brought. I'm new to gardening, having only had a garden for a year. I live nearby Sunshine Garden Centre and pop in regularly to pick up bits and bobs for my garden. The staff are super helpful and will always take the time to answer all my questions. They have talked me through lawn care, helped me pick out plants and are always happy to help carry things to the car. They have a lovely selection of plants and a coffee shop inside. I find it a really relaxing shopping experience and the staff here have definitely played a part in my new found enthusiasm for gardening.

My ‘go to’ garden centre in spring summer and winter. Staff are so helpful.... I took a pic of my new trough and asked for suggestions. He selected and suggested plants, I took pic and planted exactly as he displayed. Eight years later I have colour throughout the year. I love their hanging basket selection too, you buy the set of plants from a selection of pics and replicate them at home. SGC make it simple and the quality of their plants are excellent especially the red geraniums!! A visit in the Christmas sales is a must, fill your £10 basket which are like an early pressie when I unwrap them to decorate 11 months later 😀 I can even treat my beagles, have a quick coffee and relax - they’ve got everyone covered! Nothing is ever a problem for the manager or his willing and helpful staff. Well done all and wish you a wonderful 2019! ❤️

I have lived in North London for about 54 years and today was my first visit. I had assumed that because of it's location it would be overpriced and mostly carry macrame hangers made of mongolian goats hair. I was so wrong. It has a really decent selection of plants and everything you need at prices that are very reasonable to cheap. The staff are knowledgable and HELPFULL. Even the teenagers ( well at my age anyone in their twenties looks like a teenager but some where I am sure teenagers ) were helpful. A guy in the carpark guided me to a parking spot. A lad carried a bag of soil to my car for me ( I could have done that but it's a nice touch) . The bloke at the till knew what soil I needed as a helpful girl had radioed the till earlier to check it was in stock. ( now that is service ) .I managed to grab the essentials that an hour before I could not get at local DIY store with garden section. Will be popping in this week for a second visit to pick up some recommendations for house plants from one of the staff and to properly browse the vegetable plant section. I am properly impressed and a tad pd off that previous I spent half an hour or more driving to north of Enfield. Richard Bartram

Such a wonderful garden centre. I usually go just for the cafe, but my parents love the actual garden centre and the displays always look gorgeous. The cafe is great - lovely coffee, sandwiches and cakes. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the whole place has such a nice atmosphere. I feel lucky to have it on my doorstep.

A bit disappointed this year. Not their usual high standard of magical and enticing Christmas displays. But please do your old Christmas set pieces again next year - bring back the geese and peacocks!

I'm a keen gardener, aged 74 and have found the staff and service at Sunshine an absolute joy! Nothing is too much trouble for them to explain and spend time advising customers. Cheerful and extremely knowledgeable they greet everyone with enthusiasm and good humour. The prices are very, very reasonable and the stock is constantly changed and of very high quality. Perfect garden centre. I recommend it as highly as it is possible to do so. Cannot praise it enough. Even on the phone they are SO helpful. (Also, in response to reviews below about the cafe, I think you get some very nice food. It's not a high traffic place so there are shop bought things available, but may I recommend the soups and quiches and fish cakes. To be honest everything I've had there is great. I have greatly enjoyed my salads, tarts, hot chocolates, soups... In fact one of my best ever soups has been here, I think it was a broccoli and stilton or something along those lines? Brilliant. Also the customer service in the cafe really is great.)

What a fantastic garden centre! I was greeted by a very knowledgeable host. I asked for Orchid compost and Cactus soil. He pointed me in the right direction and rang ahead so that I was expected. I was shown the products, they were carried to the till where the young lady put them onto a trolley for me. As I was unloading the trolley a young man came up and took it away. Great service, fantastic staff. Fully understand why it was voted "Best Garden Centre in London" by Which? Magazine.

Great gem just one tube stop and a short (less than 10mins) walk from the buzz of Wood Green tube station. Bonus of a lovely cafe off the outside plant area which serves a great selection of food from sarnies to hot food (inc. Pieminster pies!), cakes and afternoon tea (Mon, Fri & Sat only - need to book ahead for the full afternoon tea experience) all freshly prepared and generous portions. Really friendly staff in the cafe too. Lovely place to while away an afternoon!

My husband and I have been here many times for various reasons. Most recently we bought our 2nd Christmas tree from them and it didn't seem right taking it down when it still looked so good! The staff are always helpful and most importantly, knowledgeable which you just don't get in your bog-standard Wyevale! I'm yet to go and only buy something 'Garden related' since their kitchen section is great. There are some fantastic products available and staff happily help or look products up online if it's not in stock. if you're in need of a present, you'll find one here! We love the choice of plants and garden products and have dealt with lots of their staff over the years, all of whom have been nothing other than friendly and helpful. Probably a good thing for the bank balance that we don't get to go all that often at the moment!! We are secretly hoping they'll open up another Sunshine Garden Centre nearer to us!

The best service of any kind I have ever experienced; restaurants, hotel staff, coffee shops, air hostesses etc. This is a big claim but genuinely is true! There are loads of knowledgable staff around who have genuine expertise. The centre has devised a system which very simply means they find out which heavy items you need and then carry them to your car (compost, manure etc). Seems such an obvious thing to do given the demography of the gardening community, yet I've never seen it before. I am often guilty of getting advice from stores then Ordering more cheaply online, but in this case, I'd never dream of it. The store deserves better.

Specifically came here for the Weber BBQ centre. Having been impressed by a friends BBQ that he's had what must be over 10 years. I finally decided to upgrade mine but wanted to see what I was getting before I spent the extra money. They have everything Weber you could imagine. On a seperate note I had what is most likely the best service of any kind from the 5 staff I came into contact with. Not only were the staff in the BBQ friendly with excellent product knowledge. Every member of staff looked actually happy to be there and great to speak to. A credit to themselves and whoever runs the place.

Not as good as it has been. We popped in today to look at Christmas things and found that the usual elaborate Christmas decorations across the indoor area just weren't there. There was one area solely dedicated to cheap childrens' junk that you can buy anywhere which made the place feel like a Poundland. There also used to be a wide and interesting variety of food which, again, has been largely replaced by things you can pick up just about anywhere. We have visited this garden centre for many years and have always enjoyed the fact that it was different and a little more upmarket compared to other garden centres. While I can appreciate that it is coming to the end of the Christmas season it feels like they were definitely cutting corners this year. The staff, however, remain as friendly, helpful and knowledgable as they always have been.

A well stocked garden centre with a large outdoor selection of plants and shrubs that's always a pleasure browse around. Indoors is a bit of an Aladdin's cave ranging from garden tools and furniture to indoor plants and kitchenware. What makes the garden centre stand out is its welcoming customer service. Staff are always on hand to give helpful and expert advice should you need it and lend an extra pair of hands for heavier items tigether with a carry to car service. There's also a café selling breakfast, light lunches and cakes baked on the premises. It can be extremely busy at weekends but is less pressurised during the week. There is also a Seniors Club - for over 60s - each Tuesday, offering 10% discount to members.

I visited the Sunshine Garden Centre this morning having had a very bad experience in Homebase in Finchley a short while earlier who had no idea at all about plants . From the moment I arrived the lady asked me if I had been there before...when I told her I hadn't she showed me where the plants I was looking for were.It then started to rain and a member of staff asked me if I would like an umbrella!!...I bought some beautiful plants and went to the checkout where again the young man could not have been more kind and helpful.I went to my car and another young man approached me to take my trolley for me...I give Sunshine Nurseries 10 out of ten never mind 5....I will be going back there again for sure...many thanks to you all .. it makes such a difference when staff are kind and helpful it really does xx
