Reviews of The Boma Garden Centre
R. A.
What a peaceful place. So many indoor and outdoor plants to choose from, with helpful staff who are happy to guide with plant care and conditions. Went four times in a single week when I moved into my house and found it an excellent place to get my plants, in how lovely the plants are, how helpful the staff are, and how relaxing it was to just walk around.
K. P.
This place is just lovely.
I’ve should have come here so much earlier and haven’t been able to stop going. I know this is going to be an expensive hobby, but my home is now beginning to become a small jungle.
Staff are knowledgeable and patient with newbies like me who have brown fingers and many questions, but going on 3 weeks and all my plants are thriving.. what do you know, don’t water them too much (I did start with hard-to-kill plants though: started with ZZs, some succulents and Pathos. Upgraded to Kentia, Peace Lily and Prayer Plants and seeing how it goes (with lots of YouTube tutorials!!) I just love how my home feels much more alive and how pleasing it is that I can keep these plants alive.
Parking is just across from the entrance, which is very handy. I am so glad this is the first garden centre I went to as my experience has been wonderful.
A. G.
My favourite garden centre in London! The atmosphere is wonderful, there are often four legged friends around, the staff have almost always been warm and welcoming and the amount they have is great!
Prices are fair and in my experience the same as far larger stores so it’s great to support this place.
I’m not super local but always happy to go out of my way to come here when in need, even just to have a little wonder around to find inspiration.
Unfortunately the pond in the back has gone and I wonder what happened to the fish.
Otherwise great!
L. R.
The moment you enter you will fall in love with the beautiful selection. Thinking of indoor or outdoor plants there is always something you will find to match your home settings.
A. G.
Really Great, should have come here sooner. Got some great plants on sale!!
G. R.
Excellent quality Christmas Tree purchased from Boma..
We bought our tree 2 weeks before Christmas and just recycled it today as our decorations all came down.
I really do think it would have lasted another week or even longer
P. A.
Simply the best staff and selection. I could quite happily move in because it is almost impossible to choose from their brilliant selection of plants. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, relaxed and clearly love their jobs. The ceramics are also of a high quality and just as good a selection as the plants which I guess means I'll be back many times in the future. It is also convenient to park up or equally not far from Kentish Town so it is easy to get your selection home safely. Thank you !
A. R. B.
Nice garden centre with lots of options. Ranging from sale plants to bigger more expensive plants. The staff were incredibly helpful and gave tips and recommendations. We mainly focused on indoor plants but there were lots of outdoor plants also. Also was a very cute cat sleeping.
A. D.
Best garden centre in London. Staff always friendly, great prices, selection and quality. Thanks to Boma my balcony always looks amazing.
B. V.
This is plant heaven! A huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants, for every budget. Lots of gardening accessories and products like pots, soil, sand and grit. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The only struggle was choosing what NOT to buy because I truly wanted everything! Looking forward to my next visit.
M. M.
Great little garden centre, they usually have a good range of plants and the staff members polite and knowledgeable. The prices are over the medium line, but many plants are in bigger containers, from 5 L up. Also they have nice glazed ceramic pots for outdoor £15 - 90 and the compost bags, 50L size, are around £9.
m. y.
Great selection of plants and pots. Indoor and outdoor. The service was very friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend visiting if you need plants for your garden in central london area. They also have a same day delivery service.
A. B.
I love this place! It's a hidden gem in London. Affordable prices, wonderful cafe, cute cat and great staff. I could spend hours in here. I love all the sculptures too. It's like visiting a garden centre out of London. They have a good parking situation too with their own car park and plenty of on street parking. Also they have trolleys to take too. It has everything you will need. including specialist plants. 10/10
b. g.
This place is great. The plants are all in good health, and although not the cheapest you'll find, you know they've come from good stock. Also they have amazing houseplants, with some fairly rare finds.
Y. F.
Amazing garden shop with endless selection of beautiful plants for both out and indoor gardens.
A. H.
1st visit and the 2 staff members I spoke to for v basic beginner help were really approachable, friendly and helpful.
Totally non-pushy or aloof. Super important for a place involving knowledge and will result in a definite return from me! This all besides the beautiful and clearly organised array of plants. Thanks so much Boma Garden Center :D
P. F.
What a special place - in the heart of north London. A huge range and friendly staff. Excellent Covid safety measures
A. B.
Lovely little garden center that packs a lot into a small space. Some great deals on some plants that may be a challenge to save but the staff always have good advice on plant care and are lovely to boot!
A. K. L.
Just bought a tiny Bay leaf plant for £6 from Boma. Prices are little bit higher than other places like B@Q but that's reasonable because the garden centre is located in Kentish Town. Customer service was excellent. Received some good information about how to look after tropical lemon plants etc..
I am so lucky to have the centre 2mins walk from my flat.
Overall a great place to visit and just wonder about looking at some beautiful plants.
J. G.
A little expensive. However, very good quality plants. Very friendly and helpful staff. Boma stock a good range of unusual plants as well as favourite more ordinary perennials. Plants are the healing from Covid 19. Get there soon
C. D.
Some really interesting plants. Good quality.
N. H.
Wonderful place, generous selection of houseplants, in good condition and fair prices. Staff very warm and helpful. My favourite garden centre so far!
S. W.
Good selection Fairly expensive but good merchandise!☺ very friendly helpful staff
V. N.
My favourite place to buy plants or gardening supplies. Staff is very helpful and they’re dog friendly too which is really nice! Love the varieties offered - got a lot of my plants from there.
D. P.
Lovely selection of seasonal and perennial plants, pots, and all gardening things, large and small. Well laid out. Very helpful staff.
E. L.
Good wide selection for all the trendy/hipster indoor and outdoor plants, but generally 25% more expensive than what's available @ Columbia flower market.
Boma also regularly stocks ultra rare and variegated plants and they'll be priced accordingly.
If you have the time and you know what you're looking for, I'd recommend visiting Columbia on Sunday morning, and if they don't have what you're looking for, pop over to Boma.
Boma has very intimate, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
H. B.
1st visit. Loved the layout: herbs, plants for shaded areas, etc. Fabulous original metal sculptures everywhere from huge giraffe to cute owls. Rooting powder cheapest I've seen so far. Good value bulbs. Indoor cactus & seedum plant area v warm, atmosphere replicated. Staff lovely. Visitors car parking.
Thoroughly enjoyed shopping for my balcony. I did go for the smaller, on sale plants.
A lovely distraction to Covid life 💕🌵☘
C. M.
It's looking lovely despite the winter season. Good range of outdoor and conservatory plants though not specialist and a bit pricey. Good range of gardening tools etc and Christmas decorations. Helpful staff. Very pretty arbour cafe vegan etc.
J. M.
The customer service at Boma Garden Centre is absolutely amazing, they went to get lengths to meet my order for which I was so grateful. The garden pots arrived and I am very happy with them. My plants look fantastic in them and I really couldn't thank them enough, especially Kim. Thanks to Brad and Ben too for their assistance the day I collected. Truly impressed. Will be seeing you agaia soon :)
X. K.
Great place, great staff, absolutely loved our visit and will be back. Lots of choices and very healthy looking plants! I don't know much about plants/gardening but the staff was very very helpful, kind and full of advice!!! Highly recommend
S. H.
Amazing range, good prices and just a great overall experience. Made all the better by Bluebell the cat helping us with the check out. Thanks all!
B. C.
I have just stumbled upon an absolutely magical, secret garden! I had to return a hired van to Islip St and walked out to find myself enticed by all the beautiful plants, flowers, aromas, birds, elephants and buddhas peeking out at me from behind the wooden railings. I was fascinated by the huge selection of very happy and healthy looking indoor and outdoor plants and trees - a lot of love has obviously been put into this place. A real bonus to the local community - I'll definitely be back! Check out the new shop area with all the air plants, Spanish moss, orchids...🌺
N. N.
A good selection of houseplants but poor customer service. No one acknowledged me when I arrived and the long blond haired woman with a foreign accent was so rude and came across as very nonchalant. No one took the time to answer my questions about some of the plants and I just got the impression it was too much of a bother. Its such a shame. The reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because at least I got a smile and an offer for assistance from a member of staff who worked in the outdoor plant section on my way out.
O. L.
A nice little garden centre that's close to central London. Not cheap but most things not crazy expensive, and staff all very friendly and knowledgeable. Very handy for locals
F. X.
This place is a gem! The number of uncommon and rare plants is overwhelming, also a beautiful variety of common plants in different sizes at very decent price,
J. L.
Friendly, professional people, huge choice of plants and pots. I'm very happy I discovered this place.
J. s.
Lovely selection of plants and sundries.
H. J. U.
The staff is sooo helpful, and guided us on which plant and pots to buy, they have a variety of option from indoors and outdoors plants, vases amd garden material. It worth a visit
P. B.
Great selection of indoor plants. Keep an eye out for restock to get the best. Lovely staff
J. B.
Beautiful garden centre with tons of unusual and reasonably priced indoor and outdoor options. Beautifully curated, to boot!
K. A.
A lovely garden centre with a large selection of indoor and outdoor plants.
A little expensive but staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Shame they closed the cafe but they have used the space well.
T. B.
Not as enjoyable as previous visits as it no longer has its wonderful coffee/snack bar. This was an ideal resting place especially if you were to have spent a long time shopping at this centre. I was told they want to make more space for plants etc. I feel they have missed a trick here. I will not travel so far to Bomas again, as I feel the coffee bar was part of the shopping experience. So for me a 4 🌟 plus has now been lowered to a 3 🌟.
J. H.
What a delightful little oasis this is in a part of town, which, lets' face it, can be quite urban and grimey in places. Very nice selections of herbs, flowers, fruit trees and so on - as well as all the other things you need to make your garden grow. I'm in no way an expert in this field but the prices seemed quite reasonable too.
N. G.
Lovely garden center with a lot of beautiful plants and friendly staff. They are also very dog friendly :)
L. H.
I will mainly be reviewing their indoor plant selection. Having said that, I did have a wander around their outdoor plants, and they have a good selection at reasonable prices. Onto indoor plants... They have a medium-sized collection of fairy standard, well established plants for sale. However, the fact that they are already established means that you will be paying a bit extra for a plant than you might if it were still young (I think the general price was £15-£35 for a medium-sized houseplant; £180 for a variegated monstera deliciosa lol). They had many cactuses. A variety of hanging plants. Some small rubber plants.I think this would be a good place for someone to start if they were looking at getting some houseplants, however other garden centres in the area I believe have a better, more exciting selection of plants available.
C. F.
Keana and the guys were fabulous. Keana designed the front garden and she had great taste. Very happy with the final result. Thank you!
H. d. (.
It's really a lovely place in the back of Kentish Town. Really lovely chilling area. Sit there and have a coffee and a sandwich with a friend or a parents. Lovely place for teenagers to take their parents or partners. You can have a wander around amongst the flowers and house plants and herbs. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind you sitting down and having a coffee and reading a book quietly either. Quite a lot of seating
H. P.
Wonderful garden centre with a wide range of house plants. Prices are reasonable and I love that they stock some rare plants too.
S. P.
A good local garden centre with helpful friendly staff. Good selection of plants as well
J.

C. L.
Lovely garden centre with great, friendly staff! They have a little cafe which does great selection teas and coffees and lovely fresh food. They will also cater for dietary requirements!
S. M.
Friendly staff, good range, easy to reach from tube. Parking available if you need to get heavy things. We were getting compost so needed parking.
C. H.
The best garden centre in North London - a family run business with great service and patient advice even for amateurs like me. Lovely setting just for a wonder and a browse. Definitely worth a look.
C. L.
