I've driven past a few times, and never got the chance to pop in untill today. I'm so glad I did!! So much choice, plants look really healthy. The staff were helpful. I think pretty good value as well compared to others places I have houseplants. Also.... smells amazing inside.

It's a little bit out of the way for me but I think I might have just found my new favourite garden centre. I have been to this branch (the biggest?) and the branch in Camberwell and been thoroughly impressed by the customer service both times. Staff were friendly, personable and helpful. I only needed a small quantity of sphagnum moss and they suggested they could sell me a small amount from their large sacks instead of buying a prepackaged larger bale. Prices are very reasonable compared to other central London nurseries and the plants I've bought from here are always in good condition. This branch is cosy but full - has a lot of cute pots if you are looking for those, and a lot of small-medium plants which I always prefer (so you can see them grow)! Pretty good social distancing measures considering the space they are working with - limitations placed on the number of customers within the indoor space and masks required. My only complaints are that it might be helpful to put up price signs because I saw some plant leaves a little squished from people lifting them in and out of the outer pots, and to consider adding more overhead lights to make browsing easier during these times.

Beautiful place! Just across the road from Nunhead station. It is intriguing from the outside and, if you are a plant & home decor enthusiast, you know immediately it is a place for you. The only negative is that it is quite pricey but lots of items here would make great gifts!

I visited this adorable plant shop / garden center because I wanted to write a feature for my blog. I was impressed. It isn't large but packs a punch. It's super cute thanks to the magical setting under railway arches. Outside you will find plenty of plants including shrubs and flowers for your garden. Inside the arched tunnels you can browse the indoor plants which includes succulents, cacti, orchids and more. You can also buy gifts such as plant pots, candles and beauty products. It is opposite Nunhead station which is handy.

I visited the Camberwell store for the 2nd time and absolutely love this shop. The plants are gorge and they have such cute little bits for your home (and good quality). I was looking to buy a low maintenance plant, as I haven't had a real one before and Hamish was the best! He talked me through the most ideal plants based on my requirements, and I left with a Zizi plant and beautiful buddha vase :)

This was my first time visiting this nursery and it was absolutely beautiful! One of the best I've been to in London. The space is very well laid out and inviting and the selection is wonderful! The other best thing about this place was the staff. They were extremely friendly and very helpful unlike some other nurseries I've visited. Such a great little plant garden. Really nice plants and pots. Ashamed to admit that having lived around the corner in Buchan Road for over five years, 11th April 2017 was my first visit. The motivation? At my fave local Nunhead pub The Pyrotechnists Arms I had suggested to Denis that there was space begging in the front border garden, I had already supplied and planted a pot bound shrub ( there was no space in my garden ) lol at the time: Now Michael what do I owe you? - LUNCH! I suggested a camellia and that The Nunhead Gardener seemed to be ideal and my perfect excuse to finally check out what is on offer. It is like an Aladdin’s Cave of gardener’s delights and literally extends under the railway. Each time you visit there are always new surprises of terrific quality and very affordable. So far I have purchased two camelia’s and both are thriving at the pub. Also the six herbs I planted in large tubs on the garden patio have been so abundant that I have just got three more, I love fresh herbs and the variety on offer here is just not available in supermarkets, you can cut and leave them to dry or have fresh. The selection at Nunhead Gardener is streets ahead of ‘Big Brothers’ and we should all support the independents! All the staff are so friendly and helpful – thank-you and I will return.

Well organised, well stocked, well presented and inspiring garden centre, a genuine oasis in the middle of built-up London. A beautiful small/medium plant nursery, reasonably priced and lovely selection. Beautiful atmosphere, a great independent plant shop in South East London. I haven't used the online collection service myself but a few of my friends have and they have said that it was easy and efficient. Also a really lovely selection of ceramic plant pots! Very friendly staff and convenience location. A short walk away from Nunhead cemetery which is worth a visit if you are in the area.

I have been visiting these outlets now for over 6 months. I am drawn to the attractive and innovative displays that Chris and the team create on a daily basis. The choice is extensive and exciting, new products seem to arrive on a daily basis. Love this place. This is an unexpected shopping experience as it feels relatively off pitch. This makes it all the more surprising when you visit and find it heaving with shoppers from wide and far, testimony to the quality of what's on offer. They have a great range of house plants, some really unusual and new variations. It's perfect for those living in flats with limited space. They also have a big rang of specially selected tools for every job plus any other plant paraphernalia you could possibly think of. The staff are very knowledgeable and always helpful. That said, it is very difficult to come out without having spent more than you intended too. Thank-you Nunhead Gardener. Keep it up.

Housed under a railway arch with a long tunnel of indoor house plants, with an outdoor courtyard full of garden plants. Worth a visit to see the place. Beautiful, unique garden centre set in the eaves of the railway tunnel. Huge selection of plants, pots and other bits for the home that are all reasonably priced. We usually drop in on a Sunday, all the staff are friendly and happy to help but the real shout out goes to the girl (not sure of her name - she's studying to do psychology at uni!) who always gives us a hand with our plants. So welcoming and always happy to chat - means we go back practically every weekend...!

I was looking for some plants to add aroma and colour to my garden and I found The Nunhead Gardener garden centre online. I called them and they were very helpful. Peter, who works there, actually came over to my house and spent an hour examining the plants that I had and advising me on what further plants I could get to add more aroma and colour. He did this all completely free of charge. I then visited The Nunhead Gardener itself to see the range of plants that were available. It is a very nice garden centre, with a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. It's the best garden centre that I've been to. I selected some of the plants that Peter had recommended and he then delivered them to my house later that day. Peter came back a few days later and spent 90 minutes planting them for me, again completely free of charge. He also gave me excellent advice on gardening-related matters throughout, which encouraged me to do more gardening myself. I was very impressed with the excellent level of customer service from Peter and his colleagues at The Nunhead Gardener. I will always use them in future and I would strongly recommend them.

Very friendly staff don't see that at any other garden centres. Someone helped me buy strawberry plants for my friends kids,and I bought three Harry Potter ones. Also bought three tomatoes plants,and a big bag of soil. After I paid I was asked if I needed any help to my car. Congrats to all the staff,and I'll be back soon. Very well run business,and I'd rather pay a bit more,but get better quality plants. But I thought the prices in general were very fair.

Such a great place! Filled with amazing house and outdoor plants. I am particularly into houseplants and they have an interesting range. They also have plants in a range of sizes so if you can’t afford a fully grown one you can by a cheaper young plant and get it up to size yourself. Great selection of pots. Best garden centre ever! Amazing selection of outdoor and indoor plants all beautifully displayed. Someone was there to help me with my balcony project right away and patiently described different plants and flowers. Prices are not the cheapest if you compare them to Lewisham Market or Asda/Lidl/B&Q but there still happily affordable for the quality, service and selection you will get here. Highly recommended!!! Brilliant..really knowledgeable and willing to spend time to ensure you leave with the perfect plants trees or pots for the spaces your trying to fill or the occassionyour seeking plants and trees for. very patient though and insightful. they really care about what they do and about their customers without being overbearing so on short you get help if you ask for it but are left on peace if you don't need or want help. if one doesnt have an answer they call son of over who will have the answers your wanting. I got James. James was extrodinary. The staff and esp James made my shopping for memorials plesent which will add to the special reasons my plants and trees was chosen..I have driven past and didn't think it looked much but when you go.inside there's a wide selection of well looked after plants and all. you could need from a garden centre.
