Reviews of Notcutts Maidstone
N. D.
Really magical at Christmas time! I tend to kill all of my flowers, but I have bought quite a few here and always receive helpful advice on how to keep them alive.
Kelly does the most beautiful displays, and although this particular store is smaller than the Tonbridge wells one, I’d say during the winter it feels like a grotto. People come every year with their families to see the large trees covered in decorations, and now they even have singing reindeer!
The cafe is fine, although it really needs a few more chairs! That does show how popular it is though!
L. S.
Lovely big garden center with some lovely shops on the retal Park area and a lovely pub! However we had a full cooked breakfast in the garden centre cafe which was lovely! We also found a lovely climbing plant that we had looked around for in many other garden centres but we bought it from here! So over the moon, very impressed.
L. S.
Where do I start.. It's a wonderful Garden Centre plus.. endless products, gifts, home accessories and somewhere to eat, drink and chat be it with friends, family or on your own. There is so much to take in and can get lost in there for an hour or more.
L. R.
Whilst back in Kent would be rude not to have a slice of cake and latte so popped into Notcutts somewhere have been in the last 5yrs
Lots have changed and it does look nice some areas a bit cramped with stock as units trying to get stock in to make it look full so one star deducted for stock levels and some items not priced and no staff to ask how much and when you checked the SEL it didn't match product
Gypsy Tart was very tasty and good price £3.50 there was also a lovely looking strawberry cheesecake again £3.50
A. C.
An interesting place for a wonder, wont keep you busy for ages and there is a chance that there is something you may want as there is a fair bit of variety. Be prepared to potentially pay a little above average as with most of these garden centre type set ups..!
J. G.
A wide selection of plants and some rather different items that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Very nice to walk around and look but, if you go round with anything larger than a basket, you will spend an awful lot of money. Very expensive compared to other garden centres and nurseries that I have visited so far this year.
G. E.
It's a nice place to shop, a little expensive, but if your out for the day the parking is easy, with no obvious restrictions, and not to big for those less able to walk far.
r. b.
Very helpful plant advice. Easy parking for the disabled. Helpful assistant at the till willing to wrap fragile items. Easy accessible toilets.
T. M.
Everything is nicely laid out, lots of stores to visit, a bit if everything 😊
Found all that I wanted and more
m. M.
Haven't been here for a while
Good selection of spring bulbs. Good cafe nice food and drink.
T. B.
Fab place and staff are amazing
C. J.
Nice shop and clean lots of stock not keen on coffee shop. Bricks coffee shop is excellent just as you go into car park
C. T.
I went there to buy a gift voucher for someone and came out with a dress two tops and a pair of trousers
E. C.
Waitresses were lovely. Food was good although missed coleslaw off an order and the presentation of the luxury hot chocolate left a lot to be desired. The restaurant was freezing cold which we complained about and were told would be sorted out. It wasnt . We noticed other diners had their coats on too.
M. B.
Garden center lovely but cafe /resteraunt needs more choice re cakes etc !
K. F.
On the expensive side Aldi and Lidl do similar at half the price
Meat counter is nice good cuts
h. b.
Full tail scampi chips and peas, very nice let down by slow service
d. r.
A vert nice garden centre with plenty to look at and choose from just don't go to the seafood stall out side so expensive and not very nice the prawns were mushy
R. T.
First time there plenty to see could have spent a fortune worth a visit
K. W.
Great selection of everything garden but you pay for the quality.
A. L.
We went to Simmonds for a uniform fitting. I have to say that the service was brilliant, very helpful and efficient, we got a 10%off some of the clothes on top of £50 voucher:). Even my daughter who absolutely hates shopping was fine for the 40 minutes it took trying on several types of items. Big thumbs up to Maia for all the help and being so pleasant and friendly. We felt very safe and their Covid measures were excellent.
M. T.
Notcutts Maidstone is an excellent garden centre. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. And Coffee Corner, the cafe in Notcutts Maidstone is truly exceptional. The food is fresh and hot when it should be hot, and cold when it should be cold. I recommend Notcutts Maidstone to everyone. I give it 5 stars
K. P.
Great garden centre. Very friendly helpful and attentive staff. A nice range of products too. At the moment they have 3 singing reindeers that children will love.
S. T.
Had sandwiches for lunch, they didn't all arrive together so that the first person had almost finished.
H. C.
Really lovely garden centre. Plenty of beautiful flowers, plants and garden accessories etc to purchase. Splendid displays.
Unfortunately, a lot of customers wearing masks around their necks which is unfair on the more vulnerable shoppers abiding by the rules. Notcutts should be more aware of this. Hence the three stars instead of five.
P. F.
Restaurant ok food good. Place just needs a luck of paint.
S. R. (.
We bought some plants on offer but they forgot and charged the normal amount. Mum's a bit annoyed, since everything there is a bit overpriced to her. Saw a number of elderly people not wearing masks, which I was surprised to see. I thought more enforcement would take place.
N. -. I.
Good experience. Dog Friendly. Happy plants 🪴
F. D.
I love this place but didn't notice any sanitising stations bearing in mind we're mid-pandemic.
Whether I want plants in spring and summer or festive goodies in autumn and winter, Notcutts never disappoint. There's lots of things you don't find in mainstream shops and the coffee shop is great too.
S. M.
Stopped here for lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu was simple but delicious and reasonably priced. Was very tempted by some of the offers there but had to remember we were there for other reasons. Will be going back some time
K. F.
A lot of choices, I think some things are overpriced.
F. C.
Amazing place to shop for Christmas xx friendly and helpful staff, well stocked, with excellent quality of product!!! Love browsing around ....
A. W.
Very enjoyable morning out good selection plants and bulbs. Nice cafe for a snack and coffee
J. M.
Good garden centre with everything you would want and more....great at Christmas there displays are great, we have brought a new bauble for our tree every year from there...only downside can be a little expensive although having the 10% off loyalty card takes the sting out of it.
L. B.
Love to quite but staff helpful and found what was looking for
M. R.
Usually busy, but a good range of plants of all sorts as well as pots and planters and trellis and aggregates to make it all look nice. Seasonal ranges make shopping throughout the year interesting.
K. T.
Great selection of plants and garden furniture
L. R.
Great selection, clean, helpful and polite staff
M. H.
Was nice to get back to going out again, food was as good as before and staff are just great, food went cold quick but nothing could be done there as having to be outside it'll be even better once we get back inside. Keep up the good work you're doing a great job 👍.
L. C.
Love Notcutts. The quality of their plants is exceptional and the staff are always so helpful. So glad they're open and have a stream of customers. Social distancing and sanitiser all good too.
C. R.
Part of a Village Shopping Centre. Excellent garden centre, one of the best in Kent and Sussex. Very good quality plants and goods.
c. d. 1.
Its a big garden centre with wheelchair access and toilets. Vast area of garden products.covid secure, social distancing and face masks are mandatory.
Close by a Bricks coffee house is open for takeaways.
J. E.
What a great place to visit, plants in abundance lots of shops. Food yum yum, rest area for eats. Join the club and get 10% off. The only down side you spend to much but it's great. Love my garden.
J. R.
Love going to Nottcutts . Usually come away with something. A lovely selection of plants and trees ,the gardener's are very helpful and spot on with there advise . The annual talks are very interesting but you have to be a privilege member to go . £10 a year is good value for money if you go regularly. Would definitely recommend a visit .
M. S.
Lovely clothes I spent to much. Got lovely poppy brooch. Just was a tad cold in there though.
J.
Good selection of plants with helpful knowledgeable staff.
D. j.
Covid has taken its toll on nutcuts this year, Christmas presents, decoration &trees very limited, very few books, gifts xmas lights, when we pulled up in the carpark it was not even half full, not a good sign.
G. D.
Fantastic service from the Maidstone branch today. We had a problem with a delivery, not Notcutts fault. I called them to discuss it and it was sorted in a very professional way. The driver who delivered our order could not have been more helpful.
J. F.
it was ok .the gardening part was more Christmas stuff and very limited on gardening plants ie pansies etc.considering it's poppy day Sunday I never saw any on display very disappointing only Christmas decorations etc.the parking was good .
p. m.
I like Notcutts. I find it to be very expensive though..
J. C.
Bit more than your average garden centre. Could do with a tool shop in one of the empty units
M. B.
Staff first rate, always ready to help, and give advice. Great selection of plants, and the cafeteria is excellent. Become a member, and get 10 o/o discount off your purchases. Highly recommended. M Barrett
P. H.

N. A.
Very big, competitive price.
J. W.
Covid controlled and lots of space. Very good restaurant and pleasant staff. Plenty of variety and selection in stock and Christmas goodies. Bit slow at the exit tills.
M. S.

One of the biggest nurseries in the area. Good choice if everything for your garden and more. Good location and parking on site. Worth a visit.
Recommended.
M. B.
I have used them for many years when needing gardening items, pet products , Xmas and BBQ too. Good selection, well laid out ,... Prices sometimes a bit high but saved me a lot of travel.
R. B.
Only went in for a coffee and jacket potatoe, friendly staff nice size jacket with a good helping of filling
J. H.
Fabulous Christmas decorations. Lovely to visit all year round.
H. S.
Visited Father Christmas it was magical, superb, wonderful, fantastic value. The whole experience from beginning to end was outstanding.
You were not rushed in and out ,the decorations it was amazing the whole experience.
J. M.
Great selection of plants. Lovely cafe inside. Good place for a morning out with kids, as there is a pet shop inside, cotton traders, Edinburgh woollen mill and other shops inside and others outside.
D. J.
I visited the centre whilst my dog was at the vets for a few hours next door. My whole experience was ruined by the most rude, brash and completely unpleasant female manager of the restaurant. There is much to say about our exchange but needless to say she has absolutely no customer skills. I have made a written complaint but guess what to date no reply
E. P.
Lovely Garden Centre especially at Christmas! We went to the Christmas Grotto to visit Santa with my little girl who's 2 this afternoon. She was a bit shy as it was her first time visiting Santa, but the elves (staff) were brilliant, the grotto was really good, with different rooms, a sleigh, christmas trees and well worth the £10. Santa himself was lovely too, very chatty and friendly even though my little one was extremely shy and the gift was very good too. They also had some reindeer as well which she loved too. My little one loved it, best christmas grotto I've been to from what I remember in my childhood, will definitely be going back next year! The garden centre was lovely too as all christmas trees, lights, gifts and toys that my little one loved looking around. Great for some last minute christmas gifts and they had a dancing snowman as well which I couldn't get her away from. We love going here normally as live locally but was pleasantly surprised by all the extra effort put in for Christmas, it was a real treat! Thank you. x
P. S.
All the shops are open and well-stocked, plenty of plants. Sanitiser available. Cafe is open. Distancing measures in place.
C. Y.
Had breakfast in the cafe, social distancing adhered to, hygiene very, very good. Ate my food with confidence. Sale now on for anyone interested.
S. P.

J. R.

J. M.
Notcotts at pembury is a good garden centre too quality items as well as a cafe with good meals, a butcher and good for buying presents. The down side is the parking. Very steep driveway to car park and steep walkway back down to shops.
A. B.

We had a look round at the pebbles and stones did not have what we wanted, then went in to cafe I thought it was expensive for what we had.

Outside was good but too crowded inside where all the Christmas decorations are, as a result we left so as not to add to the crowd.
