Reviews of Newbank Garden Centre - Radcliffe Store
M. H.
Good variety of products indoor and outdoor and always well presented. Prices not jaw dropping but as is usual with any garden centre some items can be found cheaper with not too much effort. Christmas range available now (October) and looks like it's still growing.

A fabulous garden centre, must rate as number 1 in the North West in our opinion.
So easy to walk around, so many nooks and crannys and pleasant surprises.
The plant and pot area has undergone a great improvement in that the majority of it is under cover.
Top it all off with a visit to the Irwells Bistro. Always busy, always turning out consistently top drawer food and drink.
We drive miles to come here, passing other garden centres in the process

Going to the garden centre is an experience many have had restricted for a long time, wondering if it would re - open at all, but our last trip was very good, the range of goods was excellent, and when we went for lunch, my meal was excellent, and my wife's was even better, they had even gone off menu to make a meal that used to be available, and it was very satisfactory, top marks.

Visited to look at something nice for my dining room table. I wanted something festive to use throughout December. I didn't end up finding something designed for that but did manage to come up with my own idea with some of their beautiful Christmas decorations. (Well if I'm truly honest it was my husbands idea) it wasn't too busy (Thursday afternoon) but I was a little surprised that the Christmas displays weren't 100% finished and I thought there were less of them this year. Unless there were more to come? I also felt it was missing the wow factor I had felt in previous years, obviously my own opinion. Saying that I did leave happy and did get some nice things and left with more than I went on for which is typical of me.
J. B.
I love newbank they have such a lovely range, and reasonably priced have had some great finds in there. Also love their Christmas displays
A. G.
Nice garden centre good quality plants, large range and ok prices. Loads of home wares mostly half price at the moment! Good selection of garden furniture, 25% off currently. Food was really nice and portions are huge, esp the cakes we couldn't eat it all. Good range of food for all tastes.
S. H.
Had lunch in the bistro. Lovely meal of homemade minced steak & mushroom pudding, chips & gravy. The only downside was that it was absolutely chucking it down & there is no covering between the garden centre part & the bistro. I am in a wheelchair & by the time we got to the bistro I was drenched. What made it worse was we couldn't find the ramp & it wasn't clearly signposted. I would definitely recommend though, the food was lovely.
C. B.
Really nice garden centre, not been for a couple of years. It has expanded quite a bit and now has a great eating area both inside and out. Some good deals on plants and shrubs.
K. W.
Only place to go for amazing plants and baskets. Great prices too.
G. M.
Pleasant place with a lovely outdoor-dining restaurant. Food is inexpensive and tasty, with generous portions!
The space dedicated to plants was varied, though a little small compared to the size of the whole site.
S. D.
Good selection of healthy indoor & outdoor plants & shrubs at reasonable prices. Love brousing the homeware department then grabbing a coffee and cake from the cafe. We'll worth a visit.
c. e.
Great garden centre at any time of the year but especially in the run up to Christmas. The place looks great with all the decorations on display. It gets busy, but there is plenty of parking and a great little bistro. Fantastic.
A. R.
Great cafe, lovely garden centre and amazing Christmas displays. The cafe is quite compact and often busy but happy to accommodate access requests where possible
C. W.
Visited for the first time today and its great! Lots of home decor and ideas, as well as a massive outdoor space full of plants, tress and inspiration. Is a great place to go just for indoor and outdoor inspiration or even colour matched trinkets. We also visited the tea room/bistro and was pleasantly surprised!! The prices are a little high, but everything is freshly made, with the sandwiches and wraps only made to order, so you literally pick your own fillings, which was a nice touch. Overall, was a great place so spend a relaxing and casual Sunday, would recommend!!
A. N.
Lots of New stock. Lighting for the garden..I found lots of choice of solar ones. The ones I bought changed colours. I put them into pots of tete a tete daffodils and primroses..Nice and colourful which a night the lights leave a lovely starry glow on the path.
s. m.
Car park a bit tricky and the initial entry through the niknaks is a little difficult but this is a lovely garden centre with lots of choice and great staff that know their stuff. Plants always in good condition plenty of staff available to help you if you need anything. Has a cafe as well .
J. S.
A vast area of furniture, gifts etc. Rather on the expensive side I thought but very good quality. I saw some different plants there and they all looked in good condition. Had a lovely lunch there also
D. K. (.
Called in for a quick look around and a bite to eat, car park is pretty big and there are a few disabled parking bays, entrance is reasonably large and easy to negotiate even if you're using your chair, the selection of goods is vast from small nic nacks to rather large ornaments and statues, everything appears of good quality even the plants and shrubs look well tended. Whilst here we called in the bistro, what a great find the food was really rather good the coffee excellent and the staff were really very friendly attentive and nothing was too much trouble even on this particular day which seemed quite busy. Thank you Newbank Garden Centre you made a few hours so easy to waste away, we'll definitely be calling again.
K.
Fantastic garden centre, has everything you could need but the Santa this year was something else, he was brilliant from the real beard to the glasses and even his voice, the story was lovely and my little boy has been talking about how Rudolph got chosen by Santa for a while now. Really lovely little experience it was really nice to walk around the garden centre too. Very good experience for £9.99!
P. H.
Great place to visit anytime of year but Christmas is extra special and the little Bistro is superb, great food, service, atmosphere and views into the garden - love it.
J. F.
Great selection of Christmas decorations, the best for miles around.
D. S.
One of the smartest garden centres I have had the pleasure to visit ( and that’s a lot lol). Very beautifully laid out with a great homeware section. I visited due to their summer 50% home wear sale, and so many lovely items at really great prices. The on site cafe is also well worth a visit with great food.
N. R.
Food great café and outdoor eating area is lovely among thr greenery and trees. Birds so friendly ( robbins) and the amount of flowers to trees is fab. Garden furniture and fancy good ì love. Will always go there to buy . ..
A. L.
We arrive approx 3.40pm. Think because they stopped serving at 4pm? Only could have a drink and a cake. It was basically thrown at us and were clearing up before we finished. Would never go again
H. C.
Reasonably priced with all you'd expect from a garden centre plus they do a wide range of gifts and home ware too. My only criticism is that they don't open until late at least one evening a week.
V. B.
Great place love the layout . Lots of really nice products to look at .
The cafe is lovely too. Great food lovely service and staff very friendly.
T. W.
Really loved it here spoilt for choice bought lots of gifts and plants highly recommend a visit can't wait for the Christmas selection
l. P.
Lovely garden centre with lots of choices in plants, furniture candles ornaments and clothing. Plenty of parking but gets very busy
g. g.
It was a lovely experience all the lights made it look like a wonderland loved it
B. S.
Used the Bistro for breakfast. Ok food. Pre lunch offers on food and drink bring the prices down. We were fortunate to go mid week around 10.00am. It wasn’t too busy. At weekends it gets very busy and service can be affected.
E. S.
Nice friendly cafe , don't seem to wait long for the food to arrive. Nice choice of special todays offers. A reasonable choice for meals from the menu. You recieve 20% off if you order your meal before 1130am.
J. W.
A lovely few hours spent at Newbank. The gift and home ware areas are set out very well at all times of the year. The progress through out the whole experience is clear and visually pleasing. The gardening staff are helpful and the restaurant prepares a wide variety of fresh and tasty food. I would recommend a visit.
M. C.
Love this place. Great Christmas and homeware displays. 😍
P. B.
Great place for all your gardens needs, Christmas is special here too, watch the place transform
D. A.
Love this garden centre. So much variety and prices are reasonable.
C. S.
Great place for all your Xmas & Garden needs. Huge array of home & garden accessories.
H. Q.
A really nice garden centre, quite large, well presented selling small and large gifts, decorations an assortment of fancy jams with other selected gift food.
E. T.
I love this garden centre lots of things to look at some great ideas all colour themed the bistro always busy but can usually get seated. Great food different menu everyday. Never had a bad meal yet.
n. k.
1st time we have ever been here and wow what a lovely afternoon, gorgeous house stuff, nice clothes and plants really was not what we was expecting. Looked like there was a nice bistro there but it was full so we couldnt get in overall loved our visit and we will be bag soon
C. B.
Great selection of Christmas decorations (if it’s that time of year)
Always have a great selection of flowers for your garden.
A. B.
Love it here, the displays are wonderful and great choice of plants, staff could be friendlier but still a great garden centre.
S. C.
Such a lovely garden centre and christmas is awesome here! Brilliant Santa and AWESOME DECKS a cheap and affordable place. Staff are really friendly items are of good quality BUT the carpark is not big enough!
A. T.
Brilliant it is our weekly outing the restraunt is just great food and service
P. T.
Nice garden centre bigger than the last time I visited but the best was the food and to finish carrot cake lovely
L. A.
Lovely garden centre. Lots of choice for indoor and outdoor. Prices in-line with other centres. I loved the clothing department. It was very good price wise.
I had a vanilla slice and espresso in the bistro. The pastry was delicious. Sadly my coffee was terrible. I didn't complain as they were busy. It's also very noisy where we were sitting near the coffee machine. All in all it's a place I'd be happy to visit again.
S. M.
Not a great experience. Bitterly cold day. Ridiculously, you have to walk thru the entire store, then across the outside space to get to the bistro, this when the car park is right next door to the bistro. What makes it worse is there are parts of the store you cannot revisit after you have eaten. Management need to rethink. Actual bistro incredibly noisy. Needs carpet to absorb sound. We go to eat AND CHAT. Couldn't hear ourselves think. Won't go again I'm afraid
J. S.
Lovely local garden Centre. The staff are really helpful, especially to us because we are not gardeners.
A. F.
beautiful place and friendly staffs, affordable plants and compost, one of my go garden centre
L. H.
They’ve got an amazing array of stock you can spend forever mooching round there. But this review is for the food and service from their staff. The food was gorgeous and the staff were all so polite and friendly. The menu is quite large and they also have a specials board. The prices are really good and they don’t overcharge on food, soft drinks or wine, the toilets were immaculate as well. I’m definitely going back again and again.
C. W.
Large garden centre, well maintained plants with lots to choose from. Lots of little colour coodinated areas with plenty of household goods and ornaments on offer. Much like marmite won't suit all. Worth a visit though.
J. B.
A real change from shopping on the high street and a lovely atmosphere
L. A.
Loved the clothing range. Not expensive. I didn't like the real animal skin rugs. There was even a reindeer one right beside the Christmas decorations. Poor Santa must be one short now.
N. E.
If only every garden centre could be like this. A huge selection of home goods and indoor plants, as well as many other areas. Here's a photo of a mirror I bought along with several other items.
J. R.
Nice garden centre and restaurant Nice food, atmosphere, and service my first visit wont be my last
S. S.
Visited whilst the Christmas decorations and displays were being set up. You can start to buy your Christmas decorations now, trees and lights. We went at about 4pm so was quiet and was very easy to get around.
They are currently looking for seasonal workers so if that's of interest get down there.
T. B.
Great place to spend an afternoon, lots to browse, from the pretty cheap to the more expensive, something for everyone
S. C.
Lovely garden centre, fabulous choice of gifts and plants. Excellent cafè
J. D.
Mostly under cover which is great for rainy day shopping. Great free parking. Food was tasty. Cakes are amazing!! Homeware and clothing is all colour coordinated and looks beautiful. Plants in good condition. Very friendly Lancashire Wildlife Trust rep outside getting people to sign up to save our British wildlife. Definitely recommend a visit
G. T.

Its has every thing, kitchen stuff clothing 4 the middle clasess lol jewllery, massive collection of christmas decorations everything u can think of 4 the garden, I'll b honest we were there 4 a couple of hrs and we did'nt see everything. There is a Bistro next to the garden centre its very popular its that popular at 12.30 pm its was packed n there was a que 2 get in haha must b good.We did'nt eat there but we wanted 2.All in all it was a great few hrs out Deffinately go again to see even more I hope.🙏🤷👍
k.
Vast selection of home and garden accessories. Also many garden and house plants and many fruit trees are available. Bought a really nice and healthy young cherry tree from there.
P. M.
One of the best garden centres in Manchester..Great choice and reasonable priced plants...there's advice on hand and amazing homeware section
o. 2.
Has lots of plants and ornaments etc. A little cafe inside with toilets.
J. H.
Always love a trip to newbank. Had lunch in the bistro yesterday. Had the lasagne and it was beautiful, probably the best bought one I've ever had.
P. G.
Lovely open space. Great stock. Staff are really helpful especially Craig Norman very helpful, helped with choices and lifting and carrying.
J. W.
Nicely laid out centre, plenty of plants etc. Nice cafe.
T. X.
Everything is okay, except the cashiers at the end.. I think that they hate what they are doing.
S. D.
A large garden centre that sells everything that you could wish for it is such a shame that the staff are so unfriendly.
J. M.
Great garden centre, lots of variety. Went on for succulents to build a little feature garden and was spoilt for choice.
D. H.
Always a pleasant visit. There is usually a good selection of interesting gifts here .
V. G.
Amazing selection of garden furniture, seedling through to mature plants, lights, pots etc in stock and on display to choose from.
Bistro closed due to covid but customer toilets are open at the back in the courtyard.
Lots of parking.
Not many staff on hand but the ones we spoke to we're very helpful.
Definately worth a trip.
N. H.
Just had new patio furniture delivered from Newbank Garden Centre, Bury, and we are so delighted with the furniture and the whole service from Newbank. Although there was a delivery delay we were kept totally informed; a faultless customer service, including the two gents who delivered. Highly recommended
J. C.
Took the kids to see Santa. The kids had a great time and I like the set up they had. Very enjoyable for everyone.
t. k.
Cheap, mass produced Christmas decorations.
Was disappointed.
T. B.
Visited to attend the Santa experience and it was very well done despite social distancing etc.
We all enjoyed singing along and listening to a story before going up and talking with Santa and collecting our present.
Everything was extremely well run and I would definitely recommend booking this experience. You will have to book early though as tickets go fast. We booked in October and by that point there were only mid-week evening slots.
A. J.
I worked out the other day that I've probably had around 500 lasagnes in my life. The lasagne I had here was one of the best I've ever eaten, including dines in Italy. Utterly outstanding.
P. H.
Excellent plants great staff lots of choice
J. K.
All the plants we have bought from there have been very successful and at reasonable prices. They have a great choice of products and are all well presented.
The staff all seem to be very knowledgeable and are keen to help when required.
There is also a cafe on the site providing excellent food, which if ordered before 1130 entitles you to a 25% discount.
All in all highly recommendable.
J.
Lovely garden Centre, very nice bistro on site - do an amazing job at Christmas.
The only downside is there is no pedestrian access so if you are on foot, buggy, wheelchair with no access to a car you would struggle to get in.
l. c.
Great selection of outdoor and indoor decorations. Very clean and well designed and reasonably priced for what they sell. The cafe seemed like it was popular, too!
K. G.
Loads of choice. Plenty of parking for disabled. Big place lots of indoor and outdoor plants. Well worth a visit. Can be expensive but plenty of bargains as well.
J. G.
Such a lovely garden centre with a wonderful cafe
M. T.
Very helpful lots of stock all at a good price .You can all so have a good meal there .😃
J. T.
Always a delight when my partner and I visit. Lots on offer and always manage to spend over budget. Staff are friendly and helpful, can't wait for the bistro to open back up for a cake and a brew.
S. W.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit.Christmas especially is just magical.Staff have created a wonderland of baubles, trees and gifts,a feast for the eyes.We took our almost 3 Yr old Grandson to Santas Grotto. He was mesmerised and captivated as only a child can be.What a memory thankyou to all the wonderful staff
M. S.
Love this place! It just doesn't sell plants but has a large gift shop, sells other gardening products such as gloves, watering cans and tools etc. It also has a great cafe, disabled access and free parking. Cafe is generally very busy each lunch time and you could be in for a wait to get seated but there are plenty of staff to get things moving.
g.
Massive variety of plants and shrubs. Clothes and accessories are beautiful and not to expensive. Lovely garden furniture.
Newbank is a great place to visit, staff very friendly and helpful.
L. B.
I visited newbank to see if they could give me a quote for a garden plant pot which I had to send to a delivery company to replace one they damaged it was really busy but the young girl on the information desk was very helpful and went above and beyond to help
Andrew the manager on the plant department sorted out a written quote without hesitation
Thank you for the excellent customer service
J. A.
Lovely food and great selection of plants. Always come out of here spending far more than I intended too...... in a good way!!
r. t.
I had lovely day at your garden centre a good choice of plants .
But was disappointed with cafe .the staff were very nice but the food was not the best,You have to keep asking for salt pepper ext as not put on the tables, that if you can catch the eye of staff to ask for it because they are busy in the mean time your food is going cold . I think the problem you have is from the management they need to arrange the plans on setting the
E. Q.
Lovely garden centre lots of choice style from hand bags to jewellery scalfs & wrappes boot candles oils food plus many more things
A. B.
Very well tended plants at reasonable prices. Varied selection of home furnishings and other fancy goods. Excellent restaurant with friendly service. Would have given a higher rating but on a number of visits the cleanliness of the limited toilet facilities has been questionable.
M. F.
Stocked up last week shame the frost killed all mine. Great garden centre will be there again ina few weeks
M. B.
Our first visit but definitely won't be the last. Amazing selection of goods and such a great variety of plants. Pricing on all goods was very competitive. The high tea at the bistro was very good value and very tasty. Such a pleasant experience and the staff helpful when asked for help. We expected to be there for 2 hrs but actually spent over 5 hrs there. Will definitely be returning there in the future.
L. P.
Great place, gorgeous plants. Good cafe.
P. R.
Excellent for around the home thoughts aswell as garden supplies etc.🌷🌸🌹🌻
J. V.
Love this garden centre all year round but especially at Christmas. This year didn't quite feel the same not as magical as other years the layout seems to have changed. Prices are always a bit more expensive but usually worth it for the experience. Food in restaurant always fab managed to get a table straight away. The whole garden centre was extremely quiet which was odd no queues at the till & lacking atmosphere. Will definately keep visiting I think its a sign of the times people are not spending like they used to.
E. M. W.
Like it ! Fab afternoon out..coffee..toasties and cake yum. Staff very obliging to cook what you fancied.
Oh and we enjoyed browsing the flowers and homewear. The homemade treats 😋. Take a look..
D. T.
This garden centre is a lovely place to visit. The displays offer inspiration and you're always sure to find a unique gift. Loads of choice. I visit the bistro a couple of times a month for breakfast. The menu has lots of choice and the food always tastes amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
P.
Better range of plants than at most garden centres. Helpful, knowledgeable member of staff available. Large range of garden furniture on show, pots, house plants and reasonably priced artificial houseplants. Some other stock eg house hold items, stock understandably low re Covid.
A. W.
Excellent service and lovely things to buy for Christmas. Just a bit more care is needed to ensure that customers don't turn back at the tills/exit rather than going in through the entrance and bring the good COVID rules that are in place.
J. B.
Brilliant garden centre, with plants in excellent condition, neat and tidy with lots of choice. Lots of other things to see, soft furnishings, jewellery ornaments and much more. There is a cafe too which serves great food, all good for a morning or afternoon visit.
E. W.
Great food 😁
N. W.
Very nice garden centre.
Had to queue for about 10 minutes to pay, only one till was manned.
Polite staff very helpful.
Would think twice before going again because of the wait to pay, having to queue when the area is on the highest level of alert not good!!
A. S.
First time visit. Lovely place. Gorgeous Christmas displays, gifts and decor. Something a bit different too. Definitely hoing back.
V. H.
This is an amazing place to visit, especially this time of the year. The Christmas displays are amazing, but if you into your crafting, there's everything you need to make your own decorations. Visit the Irwell restaurant too..... great choice of meals and snacks for everyone and the staff are always helpful and friendly
B. S.
I took my grandchildren to see Father Christmas last night. It was wonderful. Father Christmas is brilliant, he gave each child plenty of time to talk to him. Mrs Christmas was lovely with all the children and the adults. They are the best I have seen in a long time. We got some lovely photographs and nothing seemed to be a problem. it was a lovely experience enjoyed by old and young, thank you
r. b.
Large choice of plants, garden ornaments and indoor accessories.Plenty to see at reasonable prices.Excellent food and service at Irwells Restaurant onsite.Would recommend a visit.
A. H.
Lovely place. Lots to look at. Can be quite pricey
K. R.
Newbank is filled with everything from homeware to outdoor spaces and home decor, they even have bits of clothing now! The place is always tidy and the staff always friendly and eager to help. A beautiful garden centre
a. c.
Recently discovered this garden centre and thoroughly enjoy going there. It's quite a big place and varied. My wife uses a mobility scooter and gets around with no problem. The meal we had at the restaurant was very tasty. There's indoor and outdoor seating.
S. K.
Very nice place will visit again.
k. w.
Fantastic garden centre with a huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants. A nice selection of garden furniture, tools, composts, garden ornaments and fertilisers. Even sell clothing, pet supplies, food and many other items. Fantastic staff who are friendly, helpful and really know what they are talking about.
L. W.
Went to Bury garden centre on the Saturday to look for outside furniture , saw what I wanted. I ordered the furniture on Monday. It was delivered on Tuesday morning in time for the shipping company to pick up at 11am. Fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble. 👍
C. L.
Good experience, safe distancing was good. Prices reasonable only complaint was having to go right back round the store to get out. I do have panic attacks, so concerning for me.
J. W.
Best local garden centre 👌
N. B.
Fab place full of both quirky, inexpensive things and also top end goods - something for every budget. Great plants as well & the bistro cafe is obviously a 'go to' place as I went on a Thursday and it was full. Lovely food from light snacks to full meals. We did order chips which didn't appear despite a reminder but this didn't detract from overall good experience. I'll be back.
l. d.
I was so looking forward to my visit here as I had heard so much about it and it didn't disappoint fabulous place great stuff its an experience at Christmas
M. L.
Excellent well stocked garde centre . Loads of nice nic Macs and furniture plus homewares. Well worth a day out . Cafe is excellent and a great range of food polite staff and very helpful.
A. M.
Well located if you are a local, passing through or visiting Bury, socially or for work etc.
A large selection of garden furniture , plants and so on.
There is a coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating which is my main reason for frequenting this location. It's really lovely, friendly staff, willing to help.
It's a busy location with lots of people browsing etc, subject to the time of day.
There's free parking with plenty of spaces.
Highly recommended!
J. K.
Love a visit at Newbank Garden Centre, the set out is amazing.bought plants,a new display of swarvoski crystal was being set out and bought a lovely crystal charm for a crystal anniversary. Lovely little tea rooms.
M.
Great selection of indoor and outdoor plants as well as decorative plant pots etc. Lovely home furnishings, as well as some very nice ladies clothing, jewellery and gifts. There's also a very nice restaurant too, very reasonably priced😃You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours there😄
G. S.
Having to negotiate the maze of stuff you aren't interested in in order to reach the actual plants is annoying and trying to find your way out afterwards because of the Covid restrictions is even more frustrating but admittedly necessary. However, there is an excellent collection of plants on display if a bit on the expensive side.
K. J.
A wide range of Xmas trees and decorations as well as their usual garden centre commodities well worth a visit while discounts are on
Z. G.
Lovely garden centre with lots of choice and different departments. All the staff were friendly but there was one very helpful and kind chap called Chris who help me with very heavy bags all the way back to the car. He was very patient and a credit to the centre. Will definitely be back.
K. P.
Very nice garden centre with many low prices inside.
W. B.
Good selection of plants, both indoor and outdoor. Plus a nice place to buy gifts.
Lovely cafe serving a nice selection of food & drinks, Covid allowing!
G. P.
Very expensive but a great garden for centre I cannot fault it but the price of most things are over the top and I am only saying what most people think and what I hear people say.
N. T.
Visited today after a long time. What a pleasant surprise! By far the best Garden centre around for choice of plants, garden accessories and clothes and all at reasonable prices.
Had lunch outside the Bistro in the gardens too. Great choice and ample food served by pleasant staff helped to make our trip enjoyable.
We will be returning soon.
D.
First time we've visited today after family and friends recommending to us numerous times, we we certainly not disappointed. Staff were excellent and the store is well laid out considering the current Covid-19 situation. The items are good quality with lots to choose from and all at a reasonable price, when comparing to other garden centres. Would definately recommend!
J. K.
We came today with the kids had a lovely walk around in the Christmas spirit, we also had a meal in the cafe and the food and service was outstanding, thank you 🙏🎄🎄
D. W.
Great place to buy plants, indoor/outdoor. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
T. E.
Very good garden centre and excellent cafe with very good selection of food with good service.
S. N.
Fabulous garden centre, very over priced tho
A.
Nice and tidy garden center. The prices is usually too high, staff sometimes is not fully helpful, but also some persons is soo kind. Totally anyway it's the nicest garden center in local area.
A. C.
Great Xmas displays to walk around and see and lots of great things to buy. Personally I think some of the stuff is overpriced compared to competitors but not everything. Car park is a bit of a nightmare but that’s more down to lack of driving skill in the UK than anything else. I’m also not a big fan of standing in a queue for 10 mins to pay but still the place is worth popping in.

This is the first time I've been here & I loved it!! The garden centre itself sells some beautiful things, food, drinks & candles, jewellery, then there's the plants & garden furniture too. Irwells Bistro serves some amazing good, freshly cooked, reasonably priced & an excellent choice. We didn't have the afternoon tea but saw someone having it & it looked lovely. Will be going back for that!! Well worth a visit.
G. M.
All our bedding plants we needed were here .
R.
Good selection of everything for the garden. Also lots of fancy stuff for the home.
S. P.
Love this garden centre. Great plants and the shop sells everything from jams and marmalade to furniture.
J. E.
Great place and huge displays something for everyone
M. B.
So much to choose from. Lovely plants, ornaments, clocks, etc.etc. enjoyed the cafe, had tea and scones. Bought tie backs in the shop area. Could spend all day there. Staff friendly and helpful. Well done.

Came here on our annual Christmas visit to see Father Christmas...
It's a good set up, starting with a quick letter writing session to Santa. Post your Christmas list in the post box and enter Santa's garden, where there are a few animatronic scenes going on.
We then wait outside Santa's house for all the families to gather together. Once we're all together, we usually have to wake Santa up. This differs each year as far as I remember with this year being a sing along...
Inside there are lots of seating for the little ones, and a few extra seats for the adults. Santa cracks on with a story, which I have yet to hear a repeat after all these years. Once the story is over the kids get to meet Santa to tell him person if they have been good, what they want for Christmas, and if course a photo opportunity...
But it could be much better. It's not free for the adults and yet they don't get anything. Surely a mince pie or a small chocolate muffin with a drink of something wouldn't break the bank. And how about adding more to the "garden"? Each year they could add another animated scene and make it bigger.
Bottom line, it's a good set up and definitely worth a visit. But Newbank need to not rest on their laurels and keep on improving Santa's Grotto...
S. L.
My favourite local garden center - it has all the twists and turns of a well stocked maze where you can pick up gloriously weird and wonderful furnishing and gifts for your home and garden. The Bistro is a great little haven of bliss from the busyness of life too.
Christmas time is particularly wonderful at Newbank, but it's so popular that queues at the weekend are pretty spectacular too.
M. A.
Lovely place to shop the cafe is also lovely to. We'll worth a visit as it's so big
S. B.
Could or should I say I do spend good few hours here strolling around indoors and outdoors!! Its very spacious so it doesn't feel crowded (something I'm not good with) . The bistro on a sunny day is very busy which tells you the food is very tasty!! Staff are 5 star full of useful info. Carpark spacious Can not fault Newbank what so ever! The plants trees and all products I have from here are blooming never had any problem x
R. P.
Good garden centre with a mix of homewares and food stuffs. There are some great bargains around the changing of the seasons with new lines coming in. Always a great selection of Christmas decorations and lights with full sets of different colour themes and styles. The cafe there is good too, grab a brew and a scone with clotted cream. Ace.
G. P.
We had not been there for some time, due to the pandemic, but returned today, and were quite pleased with the place, we went to the bistro for lunch, and the food was both good, and a reasonable price, we will certainly return again for more.
K. R.
A lovely place to go. You can pop in or make a day of it and visit the cafe , where to food is amazing. There is a good range for home and garden and some lovely trinkets and smellies. At Christmas it turns into a magical place that children and adults love. The trip to Father Christmas is a must . He is the best one I have ever seen.
I. W.
Lots too choose from, furniture, plants, candles, cups. The usual very good restaurant.
R. N.
Love this place. Very tasteful and reasonable prices. Lots to choose from. Great cafe too
S. F.
Fabulous Garden Centre, well worth a visit. Will definitely return again soon.
m. f.
I've been here many times over the years, and it never fails to provide several hour of pleasant shopping, a garden centre which stocks lovely accessories, greeting cards and gifts, garden furniture and much much more, then you can retire next door for a lovely meal, good wholesome home made fare, and delicious cakes/puddings and coffee/ tea.
You can easily spend a day there.
M. H.
Great assortment of cacti and succulents.
Purchased some real bargains.
B. A. H.
Got absolutely everything you will ever need good parking aswell
V. P.
I love walking round here. There is so much to see from kitchen equipment, jams, biscuits and ladies clothing and handbags to plants, seeds and garden furniture. The cafe food is always good quality too.
A. N.
Really lovely food and displays of goods never fail to amaze me.j
J. G.
Good choice of homeward and plants. Lovely cafe too when it's open and you can sit outside
A. O.
Really good selection of home and garden products! Could have spent ages wondering around the home section (and spent a lot of money). Will definitely be going at some point. I know mum mother-in-law will love it when she visits.
J. O.
First visit today and well impressed, seems to have everything and more. Went looking for a large garden swing which seems impossible to find, or at least a good quality one. We found the perfect one. Will be back again soon.
L. M.
Great choice of Christmas decorations. Large car park but nowhere near enough disabled parking places near the entrance. A little chaotic for parking on a Saturday and Sunday. Friendly staff and a lovely bistro on site too.
M. P.
Gorgeous Christmas ornaments purchased today, looks beautiful in garden centre, proper winter wonderland
A. H. R.
Rather expensive but offers a really wide range of garden stuff, clothing, jewellery and knick knacks. Was re stocking after Christmas (after mid January! ) so empty shelves, missing prices and stock strewn around when i was there. Never saw it in a state of such disarray on previous visits, in fairness. Restaurant pleasant enough but a bit on the pricey side for what it is.
J. T.
Went for a light lunch with a friend. Enjoyable. Very popular. The flowers were lovely around the outside dining area.
R. H.
very good for plants if you want Christmas they are one off the best
K. P.
Garden centers are selling more and more home furnishings now and Newbank is no exception to this. There is a good selection of ornaments, artificial flowers, Christmas decs (seasonal), candles, kitchen ware, etc.
As for outdoor stuff, loads on offer. Plants all look very healthy with lots on offer. Outdoor furniture as well.
Overall, very well stocked and reasonably priced.
Large parking area and disabled access.
J. M.
Not been in here for a few years, I had visited at Christmas time and not anything plant related.
Visited today with a client so we could choose some plants for his front garden.
The plants are obviously of high quality, and well cared for by the staff. There was a good selection of plants on offer, we were after an acer and they had the best choice in price, size and variety by a long shot, compared to other garden centres we visited. It is obvious they they still take pride in their plant stock, and havent reduced the department in order to install a baby supermarket, cause it's a garden centre not Tesco's!! More than can be said for some of the other places you'd presume would sell various, healthy plants, being garden centres and all..
The departments of the garden centre with different products (e.g garden sundries, furniture, homeware, pets etc) are very well divided meaning navigation is easy as is finding what you're looking for. Prices are on par with or cheaper than other local garden centres, and they stock a wide range of pots, saucers, stoneware, and sundries at all price ranges. Their green gem tools are very high quality at a fraction of the price of other manufacturers and they sell some really high quality, cheap lawn feeds too.
Definitely reccomend!
D. S.
Always love coming here. Great gifts and plants. Have everything you need for your garden. Great Xmas section at the moment. Highly recommended 👍😃
D.
Huge place with tons of onsite parking. Disabled bays right outside the entrance. So many twists and turns inside the buildings make it feel like it was designed by a person who creates mazes for a living. Really good selection of a large variety of items, some loosely related to gardening. The biggest shocker to me was the pricing especially in the confectionery department. For instance, an item in a cheap shop is approximately 89p, here it is £2.89. The parking could be better organised, signage increased and marked clearer on the floor.
B. D.
Decent garden centre with some nice household furnishing items at varied prices. Busy car park. Only negatives are that access to toilets is next to the bistro via an outside area ( not great if raining hard) and need other toilets near entrance and inside the main building itself. Bistro too small..needs expansion
A. P.
Looking for new garden furniture, based in Bolton we went to our local garden centre first (who shall remain nameless!). Having chosen the suite we wanted, we waited 30 mins for help to no avail and ended up leaving! We then made the trip to Newbank, more choice, excellent help from the staff and delivery the next day - perfect! No matter the price (and it wasn't any more!), you can't beat good customer service.
D. R.
Great selection of gifts and garden furniture. The café was great and the food was delicious yum yum 😋👍
C. M.
Me and my daughter love going to Newbamk garden centre, it's got some really good sections of all kinds, food, soaps, jewellery, pictures, garden furniture, cards, and all the Christmas decorations now starting to be displayed. Also nice to have a coffee after a good stroll round.
C. P.
A large and well stocked Garden Center with a comprehensive stock of household goods and interior items. The plants looked very healthy and looked well cared for. Prices are reasonable with some offers on selected items. There is a Bistro / Cafe with a outside seating area. There is a large car park to the right of the entrance.
Just been back to Newbank's and they're getting ready for Christmas 2018. There's a bit of disruption in the display areas.
V. C.
Fantastic garden centre with so much more. The Bistro is absolutely lovely. Food is superb with friendly helpful staff. Definitely a favourite of ours. Magical Christmas grotto with an authentic Father Christmas. Love it.
S.
Lovely garden centre with a lot on offer. They have the obvious flower variety but also have a wide range of household items, plates, food, kitchen equiptment, clothing, sweets and the outside had a very wide range of flowers, trees bushes etc.
Theres also a nice cafe on the grounds.
It reminded me of a scaled down ikea the way you walk from room to room with different items for sale. Nice visit :)
C. M.
Amazing garden centre superb selection of plants/flowers/herbs etc....fantastic range of homewares, gifts for all occasions. Excellent Bistro food well prepared and tasty, Fabulous dessert/cake selection. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
J. C.
Christmas decorations amazing, so much choice. Bistro food excellent. Maybe move payment desk to another door from customers in, pushchair Park and access to toilets not all in same area.
J. S.
Garden centre aside (Which is a fantastic place full of great flower stock, seasonal goods and bits for the garden) it also had a really nice restraunt which is very popular. Good size portions and they have always accommodated substitutions and changes to meals. Tastey and great value. Good cakes selection - clean.
A. H.
Love this place, everything you could think of for inside and outside the home. Love the displays they are so inspirational, staff are so helpful. Bistro, the food is divine. Well worth a visit as a lot of people do, hench the waiting at the checkout can cause a bit of a wait sometimes.
B. R.
Well presented store, with large home ware, and garden centre selections, with a garden structure company on site. Whilst some items do come with a hefty price tag, there are also some decent bargains to be found. Staff are friendly, site easily reached by car, near an infrequent bus route, or 10-15 min walk from high frequency bus route.
T. B.
This place is not really a garden centre... More a home shop. Lots of ornaments and bits for the house... Lovely stuff mind!
They have very little indoor plants but some out door ones.
My wife loves the cafe.. rates it really highly.
D. P.
Lovely place to go for home and Garden. We had food in the Bistro, unfortunately it was a reduced menu, we still enjoyed what we had. lovely staff.👍
C. M.
Always like eating at this restaurant and having a good look round at the garden centre they always have new things for the home and for the garden. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I found that the garden centre is always well organised very clean and tidy and a nice atmosphere.
s. r.
Lovely place. A must visit
P. M.
Lovely selection of gifts, outdoor plants, kitchen stuff, candles, cards etc etc. Well worth a visit. Cafe can get busy but very good fresh food and amazing cakes. Lots of free parking.
M. O.
Excellent garden centre which like many others has also diversified into decorative accessories for the home, seasonal Chistmas decorations and a bistro. The garden side of the business has a large selection of fairly standard but good value plants. It also stocks pots, compost etc etc. To sum up - good for day to day needs at a decent price, but if you are looking for something more unusual or specialist then Newbank probably isn't the place.
P. B.
What a great place so much to choose from and lovely staff 😊 thank you
B. W.
Ample free parking and a wonderful selection of garden and home products. A very high class shopping experience at a price you can thankfully afford. Great staff give quality advice. A must visit.
T.
Brilliant Christmas displays, they organise all the different areas by colour. Love it.
G. B.
Lovely range of products. Bit pricey.
Nice coffee shop with delicious cakes.
A. I.
Nice place something to pass the day away
P. R.
Brilliant for gifts, toys, candles, cards, scarves, jewellery and accessories, and much much more! Their Christmas trees , lights and decorations are beautiful. Enjoy food in the Irwell restaurant.
S. O.
An excellent garden centre with a wide range of shopping products, all at very reasonable prices. I have been very happy with everything I have purchased from there. Everyone is helpful & friendly.
The restaurant is excellent. I would readily recommend Newbank Garden Centre & the restaurant very highly to everyone.
G. J.
Love Newbank great rang of products and plants, and food usually really good. However queued at the restaurant for a table only to be told that they had stopped serving food, it was only just after 3:30pm, so we had eat elsewhere.
K. T.
Fantastic Christmas shop. Great gifts, reasonably priced. Had lunch in the cafe. Very busy but found a table at the back, very good service and lovely food. Only downside, it was very noisy. Only to be expected when busy though 😊
M. D.
Great garden centre. Managed to find everything I needed. Troughs for our allotment patio, Eden Gardens. Looked everywhere for them. Had a great lunch. With all the recent improvements, it would be difficult to be disappointed.
J. K.
Newbank NEVER fails to please. Food at the Bistro is always first class, plenty of choice and well cooked and presented whatever the time of day. The staff are friendly, accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Garden centre is well stocked and the indoor area has a great selection of items for your home and which are perfect for gifts. We have been been going to Newbank since we moved back to the area twenty years ago, that says it all!!
J. A.
Love this place and reasonably priced
H. W.
Lovely meal and what an amazing place, the best garden centre I have been to !
H. B.
Love this place, great for gifts and plants. Christmas time here is a must! The Bistro is busy but the food, service and staff are fantastic, highly recommend.
R. K.
Had a lovely meal and an amazing games strawberry tart. The staff are so helpful and pleasant. And afterwards walked around the garden centre to walk it all off and spent more money on lovely plants. I think I prefer Newbank to Bents.
N. N.
Amazing place, really nice garden centre and the Christmas displays are out of this world.
C. M.
Another visit, food very good, the products on sale are of good value it seems. Quite a variety and getting ready for their Christmas displays. Well worth a visit.
K. C.
Lovely Christmas displays at this time of year. Their homewares section is really good too. There is a bistro with a nice menu. Good for a quick visit, or longer.
M. G.
I love Newbank Radcliffe. The building itself is fabulous, being a farm building and barn. The Bistro, when open, is wonderful. They always have a good choice of everything. Job done!
J. E.
Always love looking round here so much to look at and gain inspiration for new looks. Went for my wall hanging planted bags will be going back tom for some kitchen stuff I spotted
J. E.
I had a query about a tree bought for me from this garden centre which has all but died. The gentleman who came to speak to me was very helpful and gave me several ideas which might save the tree. Also my friends little grandaughter was with me and she bumped her head on a display stand. Staff nearby were very concerned to see that she was ok.😊
S. W.
Love this place, pop in every 4 months or so to check out any new stuff. Great xmas decorations selection. Try the cafe, very generous portions and tasty.
S. M.
Nice spacious garden centre with lots to look at. Mostly homewares unlike other garden centres. Post Christmas when we went so shelves were looking a bit bare. Didn't try out the bistro.
D. M.
Arrived at about 10am was fairly quiet. Social distancing in place. Good selection of household goods and garden furniture. Lots of plants in good health.
N. B.
Great choice of all gardening supplies plants furniture etc.etc.
On site restaurant more than worth the visit, real home made flavours and real portions, service first class from pleasant staff.
N. L.
This is a huge garden centre, it's packed full of homeware, gifts, even clothes and handbags and of course garden items and plants. I haven't been in the bistro but it looks lovely. I'm not a huge gardener but I do enjoy going here.
G. C.
A very extensive selection of plants and garden furniture.
C. A.
We came on Sunday 2nd August we went to the cafe and sat on the terrace outside good social distancing staff were very good my only complaint is that none of the staff had any masks face coverings or face visors on which at the moment is very essential as they are mixing with lots of different people going table to table I feel this should be looked at by management and face coverings should be introduced for staff in the cafe to protect themselves and the customers
M.
Great selection of garden items, plants and flowers. Of course the Christmas sections are something to be seen. The queues for the tills are sometimes a nightmare and the car park gets absolutely packed.
S. F.
This is a lovely garden centre, people you need to have a vist
C. N.
Always great there!, Best garden centre I've ever been to, great day out, bought some lovely gifts today, no one pressures you to buy, just so relaxing as you meander around, great bistro onsite too, cakes to die for!! 🍰x
S. W.
I love Newbank Garden centre and as it's a family run business which makes it all the much better. So much to choose from. I will have to go back because I filled my car up. Looking forward to my next visit which will be very soon.
A. L.
Fantastic garden centre and deceptively big. Pulling up outside you think it is a mid sized graden centre, once in side a multitude of rooms allow you to browse everything from kitchen utensils, to garden furniture and a large array of plants.
S. M.
Great variety of plants, gifts and a nice range of household items. Spacious and well displayed. I bought some beautiful centrepiece plants for the garden.
P. P.
Purchased an acer from Newbank in 2017 which now looks distressed. Contacted them last week and they agreed to exchange it without any arguments. Many thanks to the plants team. Great service and customer care.
L. J.
Very pleasant garden centre when not too busy. Can be difficult to park at weekends but good selection of interior and exterior home products. Tills very poor at busy times long queues, lowers overall score.
S. D.
Well worth a visit Get my plants there but they have lovely garden furniture and lovely ornaments etc Christmas is lovely too 😀
k. m.
Revisited today after a few years away. Really good experience. Some different things in every department, from other garden centres. The Bistro was a pleasant surprise, good morning food and reasonable priced.
G. R.
More than a "garden centre". Offers kitchenware, food gifts, clothes, cards, crockery, garden furniture, pet goods, barbecues, plus a bistro. Reasonable prices, stunning flowers and plants today (guess what my dad is getting for fathers day!) and at Christmas some absolutely beautiful decorations. Bought some delicate handpainted glass sliver baubles last year. Will be back in there tjis year too!
I. S.
Good displays of garden furniture and fair selection of plants, pots and sundries.
Not a very good selection of barbeques.
Worth a visit
n. l.
Went to eat and yet again the seafood tagliatelle was great. If you want Christmas decorations this is the place to go. Every colour you can think of.
A. W.
Best garden centre I have found in greater Manchester. Good mix of plants and other items. Massive variety on all products. Pricing is very competitive as well
D. H.
One of the best garden centres I have been to, the sell every item you may need from plants, shrubs, tubs, ceramic and clay pots. There is a great section for out door living with all types of furniture, umberellas. There is a restauraunt serving meals and drinks.
l. j.
Just average! Really struggled to spend my voucher! And having to walk back through the garden centre with a trolley rather than a one way system not the best way to deal with the current covid situation.
A. D.
Excellent garden centre with fantastic gift and home section- could spend a whole day here. Fab cafe with lovely high quality and value for money food. Cakes are to die for!
L. H.
New bank is brilliant for everything christmas fabulous decorations at a great price .and the cafe is great too nice meals . Can't recommend it enough give it a try .
S.
I would have given it 5 stars but that's because like many other garden centres about 30% of their space is dedicated to gifts / clothes / handbags and household.
B. G.
Great place with lots of Christmas decorations etc. Slightly let down by a slightly moody slightly grumpy lady on the till but other than that a nice and reasonably priced garden centre.
S. D.
They had everything we wanted, all the plants that are for sale are in excellent condition. We had a drink and the most amazing Fresh Cream and Chocolate cake
L. S.
Love Newbank. Get plants during the year and Christmas stuff around now. There is lots of other stuff too. There are usually plenty of tills available so a long queue doesn't mean a long wait.
S. M.
Love newbank but had never been to this one normally would use Royton. Went for a drive out. Really liked it, got some lovely things.
Bad side was the cafe (which is apparently run separately to the garden centre) what rude staff!! Not impressed. We walked out in the end after being herded around like cattle. Would definitely go back to the garden centre but wouldn't step foot in the cafe again.
G. H.
Visited the Christmas displays for some inspiration, great ideas but the prices this year are very expensive. Bistro good great as always
n. i.
Nice place. A bit pricey. Cafe is very nice and busy.
P. K.
Has everything you need but Bents is better. Local though so it's really handy for us. Nice set up and lots of choice.
G. C.
Fantastic variety of both plants and garden needs as well as home ornaments gadgets and specialty produce .
A really nice cafe with food and specially cakes to die for well worth a visit or three.
J. F.
Fabulous selection of plants and garden accessories. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and the food is really good and nicely presented. A really happy shopping destination.
B. O.
Good garden centre well looked after clean and tidy only down side waiting a bit too long at the tills only one till being used I am assuming that was because of the covid 19 situation but other than that a good place to visit a little bit of something for everyone
D. K.
Nice place for a bit of Christmas shopping. Good lighting and tree departments. Shame Bistro not open due to covid as serves good food. All rest of centre open.
l. l.
Lovely place to visit and have lunch. So many wonderful plants, flowers, trees and gifts. Visited recently - well organised social distancing.
A. A.
Posh place with lots of choice for nik naks for internal and external decor. Good selection of posh fake and real plants. Worth a visit fir sure.
E. H.
Felt quite normal there. They have the required safety measures in place .Would have liked to see hand sanitizer stations around but people were wearing masks and socially distancing.
K. W.
Lovely things to view lovely set out I want to go back for the more items especially the fox's for my garden
M. H.

M. A. C.
Went to browse bedding plants, and went home with 4 trays alongside 3 potting plants, and 3 bags of top soil compost. Nice centre and I'll return soon.
C. P.
Used to really love this place for quirky home items but they've reduced their home displays too much in favour of clothes that I frequent it less and less these days and they always seem to have sections cordoned off - disappointing but still it saves me spending!
G. P.
Fabulous local garden centre. Wonderful gift and home department.Lovely breakfast and the waiting on staff are lovely. Occasional service issues but overall great.
D. L.
Nice garden center with a wide selection of plants and reasonable prices and a lovely cafe.

Lovely place- had to queue for about 20 minutes to get in but excellent products and reasonably priced fashions
M. H.
Lovely garden centre with lovely things on offer.Ideal at Christmas as the displays were beautiful. However the restaurant, although good food was ,I though very expensive. The garden centre couldn't fault it.
S. F.
Buyers beware.... you could come out of there with a lot less money than you arrived. So many things I could have bought. I went in for some Orchid feeder and some new special pots that they need as was repotting a few. But come out with another 2 orchids, orchid feeder, orchid spray, repotting pots and some garden gloves
B. A.

Great place for a wonder and browse if you don't need anything, but great for garden, pets etc. Highly recommend the in store butchers
