Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Milton Keynes
M. C.
Nice place has a nice cafe prices seem fair for plants the staff was lovely and bubbly a good place especially if your in to gardening! We purchased the house plants which my miss loves! Recommend definitely:)
A. M.
Went in to see what was on offer at Dobbies sale in August. Bought several rhodo's including the variegated variety. Always worth looking at their Clearance shelves and found these lovely hydrangea with creamy blossom at half price. Eucalyptus was not in the sale but was too pretty to resist.
G. T.
Large garden centre with large resteraunt, indoor and outdoor seating. Clean and tidy, large spacious car park.
J. N.
Went for lunch today. Shame the breakfast isn't all day. Staff were very helpful. Paul the assistant manager was brilliant. He ensured my daughter didn't eat anything that would trigger my granddaughters allergies. The man who was filling the condiments was so patient and kind to my grandson, answering his 100 questions! Food very good value. Will definitely go back.
C. D.
Well done Dobbies and your peat-free crusade 👍 All peat-free ♥️
H. L.
Not a garden centre fan but Dobbies has a lot going for it. There is a decent range of products, good discounts and nice staff. The loyalty program is worth signing up for too.
J. H.
Good place to visit for all your gardening needs. As a gardening club member you receive discounts and invited to special events. 10% off plants & 2 free hot drinks a month is also very handy.
The cafe is good for tea & a scone/cake or a larger meal. They also do meal boxes for children.
c. b.
I like this place, we bought a beautiful indoor flower. The man that is responsible of the flowers section was kind and you can tell that he knows his job properly.
Thank you!!!
V. S.
Nice garden and gift centre. Dropping stars as the cafe does not have enough staff serving food so creating long queues today. Not good!
D. O.
Great store has something for everyone.
Great selection of plants indoor and outdoor, clothing, garden equipment, cafe, gift ideas and so much more. Worth a visit.
Was not overcrowded on Friday lunchtime.
Easy to keep your distance from other shoppers.
J. G.
Santas grotto was really good. Father Christmas and his elves are lovely. I can say the best one we had. Thank you and well done! Will be coming back next year 😊
E. M.
Wonderful store! A huge shout out to Jo for being so friendly and giving us plant recommendations. She is a real asset to your team!
B. 7.
Good, tho we picked the wrong table, by the staff doors, so it was distracting & a bit noisy when the door closed. For me it was a bit chilly there but otherwise enjoyable, staff were nice & helpful :)
J. L.
Really lovely place to meet for coffee or meal, good selection of food in the Cafe and staff are helpful and friendly. We spent about 4 hours in Dobbies this time, we had delicious lunch and had great time walking around the shop looking at the Christmas stuff they have in store. We will be back soon!
D. R.
The cafe restaurant was immaculately clean i noticed and the staff were so nice and friendly just what you expect 😉. And the Santa's 🎅 grotto was really lovely for grandson Sidney so a lovely visit was had.
N. R.
LOTS of variety in this store, albeit quite expensive, in-store Sainsbury's, but an awful lot of independent suppliers of artisan products are also part of this, also expensive, but treats are worth it! in-store restaurant, bright, calm, welcoming and very clean! Cream scones are delightful (and at 2pm bogof cannot be beaten!)
Y. P.
Fabulous place with a wide selection of products, from plants to clothes, groceries, garden furnishings, outbuildings and hottubs/ pools. A great way to spend 3 or 4 hours exploring.
B. H.
Very well laid out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice lunch served. Aquatic staff very knowledgeable too.
b. c.
Great plant selection during this visit. Well laid out and maintained. Knowledgeable team will go find the answer if they don't know. Restaurant stopped 5 stars. Must resolve why a 45 minute wait for hot food. Explanation given was 1 chef for about 40 tables seems wrong!!
A. S.
The service in the restaurant area was excellent as always but I was a bit concerned to see staff handling food were not wearing masks. Having just returned from Greece where all food handlers are masked I must admit I was very surprised.
A.
Very good garden centre. Staff working very well to make sure the customers are all safe aswell. Very well done to them.
j. z.
Free parking when you arrive in a large car park, inside they have an amazing range of products and have now introduced a small electrical department selling kettles toasters and coffee machines, a large restaurant, an aquatic centre and outdoor plants and helpful friendly staff. 🍴🌷🌻👍👍
A. C.
Wonderful garden with lots flowers
Very good place for buy everything for you gardening and inside shop beautiful Aquarium shop magic fish really amazing
K. W.
From the minute I walked in I could see lots of new season products being put out . The shelves were filled and lots of staff around . The outside garden area had lots of new flowers - everything looked very healthy . Bit disappointed with the price of the flower pots/planters but not that I wouldn't shop there again. The cafe was busy and fhe smells coming from there were amazing.
S. 7. S.
We visited the garden center and had a lovely coffee and cake I was told two meals for £15.00 on Tuesday when we visited the cafe
C. D.
Well done Dobbies and your peat-free crusade 👍 All peat-free ♥️
J. N.
Very nice garden centre with lots of stock. We were there to see Santa which was very professionally organised.
S. J.
I didn't actually go to Debbie's I shopped at Cotton Traders. Quality clothing. Very helpful and polite staff too.
R. S.
An enjoyable experience at Dobbies today. A good layout considering the covid situation, isles are well spaced allowing people to pass safely. A reasonable sale on this weekend. Prices for other aspects though are quite pricey however it seems quite a few places are hiking prices up. £13 for a 14cm plastic indoor plant pot is not a good bargain. Looked lovely but seriously too expensive.
The cafe did not look to inviting however the cherry scone and tea were a delight. Not sure the roast dinner was up too much. But I never had it so wrong to criticise.
R. k.
Went for afternoon tea was delicious and plenty of food so much we took some home
T. G.
Very well thought out area to have a coffee and a bite to eat. My Dad, 84, said he felt safe and well directed in how to order. Lovely plants and gifts. Maybe better if more staff on tills to get customers out quickly but otherwise a good experience. Thank you.
H. C.
Visited cafe. Not enough staff to deal with queues. Selection of cakes has reduced. Hopefully this will improve soon.
P. F.
I visit mainly for the coffee and cake. My wife it's mainly for the gardening but enjoys the coffee and cake as well! Wide range of goods beyond gardening including clothes and groceries
S. G.
Lovely place with lots of Christmas decorations and household items, has a restaurant as well.
G. J.
Easy parking and very well stocked. Great quality and value for money.
E. G.
Good range of plants in stock, and very friendly & helpful staff. Have marked down only because they only had 2 tills open & the queue was fairly long - even with covid protocols in place there was scope to open another till. But overall would recommend.
Y. A.
Lovely tea, well presented and plenty of cake selection. Perhaps more choice on sandwiches but overall a nice change. Staff very polite and helpful. Very clean areas. Would happily book again.
m. c.
Free parking. Went at 4pm and restaurant closes at 5 so not much food. Only a few snacks. Wanted to buy gazebo on show but no stock. Staff helped by checking stock at another site.
F. H.
Very sensible cafe prices which is nice change. Huge store with plenty of departments and choice. Everything is clean and neatly laid out, the attached Sainsbury's market section is handy too. Some of the product prices are a bit optimistic but good for getting some inspiration.
I. I.
The place is good for plants and fish etc... there is a food court but not used it...
V. G.
Brilliant cup of tea here, great shortbread. Nice seating area.
Lovely plants and looked after reasonably well, maybe more time watering in this heat please!!
P. F.
High quality, always a good selection of alternative presents, nice cafe and free parking
J. F.
Sunday afternoon visit, not too busy. Coffee and 241 scones offer. Great offers on plants.
L. P.
Went for coffee and cake with my family. Its set out differently now. But nice
3. V. M.
I've had quite a few afternoon teas here. Always value for money and very enjoyable! Well done to all. Nice area to eat outside too!
j. w.
Lovely food and service, would definitely visit again.
J. F.
They have a great range of products ,if a little expensive but you do get quality and good warranties, not that I have ever had cause to return items. The cafe is quite extensive serving hot and cold food and cream teas etc....the outside yard has paving, fertilizing, furniture, aquarium area and a helpful repotting area that provides useful gardening information etc. For those like myself who are Green orientated there are many Solar powered lights, green items that are less harsh on the environment. Now they have a superstore inside so you can pick up those items you are short of too..
P. C.
Good selection of plants and decorations, with helpful staff on hand who seem to know their stuff. Café's pretty nice too, which appears popular but not crowded
P. J.
Great coffee and scone .
Place was very tidy plenty of plant choice.
Felt safe re covid.
S. 5.
Far quieter than expected on my early afternoon Monday visit. Additional Tier 4 restrictions being followed. Some Xmas lines are now sold out but there's already seasonal products on sale. Household items (and a couple of impulse items) I required, were all available.
Good social distancing measures being followed by customers.
Only two tills operating but no unreasonable delay thanks to helpful and friendly cashiers.
E. S.
Large range of plants fish and pet. Massive range of plants . Spent over an hour exploring enjoyed my visit .
r. g.
Santa Paws- this review is very late and I apologise. Please make sure Santa Paws runs again this year. Our dog loved it and we have had difficulties steering him away from Dobbies while on his walks since (it is now practically May!) It was incredible and I have nothing but good words to say. A truly fantastic experience for our beloved/spoilt dog and for us as well. Thank you so much. Bravo xx
C. F.
Better than most of dobbies xmas stuff good also good menu in cafe all in all good experiance
D. C.
Very pleasant morning out!
Have got a Dobbies Card which entitles me to a free hot drink every month and 10% off plants bought there! What more could one ask for?
M. L.
As usual great range of plants. Sadly mislabelled trellis frame was a problem. Overcharged as barcode didn't match price label. Resolved fairly easily but no proper apology for what technically breaks consumer law - overall was OK but please try and put someone on customer services that at least smiles!!
T. C.
Very clean, great selection. Very very hot though... Toilets on point. Restaurant was a bit lacklustre for the amount of space they have. Staff were friendly enough but all looked fed up from the heat.
M. E.
The plants looked very dry, in need of a good watering. Quite a queue in the cafeteria too (11.00 am) so not as good a visit as i had hoped with my toddler grandson.
D. T.
We had afternoon tea here, it was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful.Definately will be back, can't recommend enough great value for money too thankyou Dobbies 😀
R.
Nice to visit, great cafe and restaurant. Shopping wise hit n miss. Things not displayed well so you could miss a couple things. Somewhat overpriced considering they're branded and in stores down the road £5-£10 cheaper and with 2 year warranty as standard in certain store.. plants you need to look under the plastic wrap for prices. Why don't they just put price on the outside. Not the best example for Dobbies.
W. H.
Good plant sales on at the moment. Tasty toasties and panini in the café.
D. E.
Lots to see a good selection of items for the garden, home and clothing too. Food was lovely-cakes were enormous!!
R. C.
Lors of indoor plants but very pricey, huge selection of outdoor plants as well.
P. B.
Lovely staff and shop so organised presentation and cleanliness wise. Pleasure to shop here
D. P.
Met a friend for lunch here. The queue was long and slow. 1 person serving hot food and taking orders for sandwiches, jacket pots etc. The queue meandered to one other lady serving drinks and we eventually got to the till. Good job we didn't choose hot food as it would have been cold!
Our sandwiches were also under par! The filling was dollopped in the middle of a slice of bread and another placed on top. The bread was dry the side salad leaves (mainly stalks) were on the turn and the half a cherry tom was soggy!
This used to be a nice place to have a spot of lunch, but gone down hill immensely. Coffee was lovely!
T. B.
Like it. Is a great garden centre you will found all you need and want including massive pet supplie shop and food. I value this place highly during lockdown - well setup and lot of space to avoid contact with other people
J. S.
Was a really good centre when it first opened, but over the years the in store shops have declined as did the butchers. They have a popular restaurant but advise caution when ordering soups, my tomato soup was just minced tin tomatoes, literally. Has a great range of tools, plants and landscaping products. Lots of other products that you seem to find in these places now like dvds and ornaments and books and watches. Lots of pet products. Well worth a visit and just ten minutes from central mk.
A. L.
Went particularly for the cotton traders clothes they have there, got some nice items, had a lunch, was nice enough, lots to look at and good place to spend some time on a Sunday afternoon. Just down the road from Woburn Safari park
H. J.
Well managed queue. Not really enough stock inside. Most people were buying plants & there were plenty of those, but I was looking for garden furniture & it looked like they'd just brought out what was leftover last year, which I understand, I suppose, but didn't help in my finding what I wanted. If you want plants, visit. If you want something else, maybe wait till Lockdown is fully lifted.
D. B.
We were surprised to see a person in the queue (waiting to order) with a mask under her chin. No staff member asked her to wear it properly Also another lady was walking all around the restaurant on her phone without a mask at all. Having said this the garden centre is well stocked and the flowers were in abundance.
L. H.
Very good, quite large but plenty of room, restaurant exceptional.
R.
They stock beautiful fish here 🐟 🐠
P. B.
Lovely set up with lots of Christmas things and a lovely cafe
T. R.
We celebrated Mum's 70th birthday with afternoon tea for 14. There was a mixture of adults & children, and we couldn't fault the food. It was all extremely delicious. The staff were lovely & attentive. We would all definitely do it again. The birthday girl had a wonderful time & really appreciated her gift from the restaurant staff.
A. K. S.
Lovely place and great to eat. Helpful staff
h. s.
Had the vegan afternoon tea today with my mum and we both thought it was amazing. The falafel wraps had apricot chutney and red cabbage with balsamic vinegar. All the cakes were so yummy and the scones were a dream.
The lady that served us was lovely and came to find us in the shop just to check if we liked it.
Thanks Dobbies and keep it up. X
S. C.
Usually go to Frosts at Woburn Sands. Maybe it's unfair to compare the two but at the end of the day they are both Garden Centres and leaving Dobbies left us feeling disappointed. Some of the displays seemed thrown together especially the Christmas area. The food fall is a basic essentials convience store, rather than local fresh produce.
It wasn't all doom and gloom. The plant selection seemed varied and looked good and the aquatic area where you could purchase food to feed the fish was a pleasant supprise.
Overall just a bit meh and wouldn't choice to go there over Frosts.
D. W.
We have hardly been out since lockdown and the lifting of. Today we popped in on the off chance that it wasn't gping to be too busy.
The store and measures put in place felt completely safe, and dare I say it, almost normal.
We gave one name and phone number upon entering the restaurant (completely happy to do so), which was set up a little differently than usual and is the reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5. Had there been signs informing us of where to order and queue now, I would have given 5.
S. D.
Out for a treat from lockdown? For coffee & cake. Restaurant queue seemed a bit of a shambles, & very slow. Eventually sat at tables that are all well spaced. Couple to our left waiting for hot food. Couple to our right waiting for toasted sandwiches. Half hour later we finished. Both couples asked where is our food. Couple on left told oh sorry no jacket potatoes so got money back & left. Couple on right were brought burnt, hard toasties. We didn't wait for their argument, we left. As there wasn't many in, I hate to think what it Will be like when it gets busy!
I. F.
Great service today. Called in for the first time to get some planters for going on our balcony. Nice guy working outside explained if we picked the planters and plants, he would make them up for us. Great service, fantastic value, and it also meant that we didn't have any rubbish at home. We couldn't have asked for more.
Place was very clean, loads of products on display, all staff friendly, and speedy service at the till.
Thanks, we will be back.
T. T.
Quick service had what we wanted hot chocolate was a bit rich but very nice
P. S.
Conveniently located near to my place of work for meeting friends for lunch or a coffee, or to collect Amazon parcels from the lockers at the front.
The garden centre itself is average in terms of price and range.
The site looks and feels as though maintenance is not a priority, and despite not being old, feels tired and worn, as though there isn't a budget for upkeep.
The restaurant is good value, with reasonable portions for good prices, and have enjoyed several meals there. Kept clean buy the pleasant and efficient staff, it is light an airy, if cool in the winter. Staff are thin on the ground, and queuing is often lengthy.
More staff and a freshen up of the facilities would make this a more desirable destination.
H. F.
Dobbies Garden Centre, is a lovely place to visit, has plenty of parking, very good wide of selections of products, the staff are friendly and a lovely restaurant too.
S. D.
Great that Dobbies Milton Keynes are participating in the scheme to recycle compost bags.
C. P.
I just like this place, mostly - I admit - not for the garden stuff but for the Cotton Traders concession (and, once, Edinburgh Woollen Mill) and the cakes. The cakes are good.
T. M.
Great place lovely staff . Get all my aquarium supplies here staff are friendly and knowledgeable about what you need. Nice restaurant as well when it opens again.
A.
Very good cafe and great selection of plants, both indoor and outdoor.
S. R.
Great garden centre with lovely café. Lots of fab plants and so much choice. Everything you need for the garden and so much more!
C. C.
Lovely cafe with friendly staff and if you join their club you get 2 free drinks a Month and a discount on purchases
S. H.
Road access is a bit of a nightmare but once you are there it's well stocked with good parking. They also sell a limited range of Sainsburys food.
b. s.
My children loved feeding the fish, and look g at all the types of fish.
Very helpfull man at the outdoor flower section
Cafe there is not much to say that is good, grumpy person that served us and £1.95 for a can of Fanta! I expected to pay a bit more but 8 times more then they probably brought it for is crazy! But my son was thirsty so I brought it, was going to stay for food but if the drinks are that price I didn't want to chance how much food would have cost.
I would go back again as the actual garden centre was lovely but make sure you take some water or something to drink!
C. E.
Debbie is an absolute star I have been trying to find fat squares for the wild birds during lockdown with little success and long delivery dates. When I ran to check there was a little confusion as to whether there was any available. Debbie went the extra mile and took the time to go and check halfway across the shop. Now I have happy birds to watch out of my window. Thank you so much Debbie
V. T.
I love going over to Dobbies the man on the roses was very helpful and you get a good of coffee keep it up it my birthday I only to come to Dobbies I had a. very nice day thanks
R. E.
We'd been for a hospital appointment earlier in the morning and were in need of something to eat, so we chose Dobbie's, knowing we could rely on the restaurant to provide a wide choice of food. The food on offer was obviously not complete as it was getting late as we arrived, but I chose cottage pie, peas and chips whilst my wife chose egg mayonnaise baguette and chips. The portions were generous, the food was hot and very tasty and we found plenty of tables vacant to sit and eat our food. My wife's order was prepared quickly and presented well. Considering the restaurant was busy, the staff managed more than adequately, unlike some similar eateries I could mention. The tables are kept clean and cleared regularly. Nothing worse than going to a restaurant and finding the tables dirty and the debris from customers left which you have to remove yourself. A definite place to consider again when the need arises.
w. w.
Great display of Christmas 🎄 and other items this year more than last year layed out nicely with lots different varieties of bits and bobs well worth a look still have lots of garden bits including furniture go have a look even has a small Sainsbury's store inside
r. h.
It was a nice garden center but me and my wife both thought it was rather pricey for some of the same things in other garden centers that are cheaper but it's a nice one
M. G.
Had afternoon tea. Sandwiches a good selection, two each would have been nice. Scone lovely. Cakes, were all good but a selection of less cream cakes would have been nice. A slice of fruit cake or macaroons would have been nice. Overall a pleasant visit. Staff attentive.
F. M.
Now with Sainsbury food hall, Dobbies Garden Centre is a lot better to visit.
Not the biggest Xmas display, but still great, with better prices than Frost's.
A. S.
A nice place to walk around and browse. Lots of lovely items for sale but expensive! Plenty of plants available and a restaurant with seating outside.
s. s.
Wonderful luxury afternoon tea at a very reasonable price (especially during their 20% discount on prebooked teas offer).
Very attentive staff and the food was of a standard that a lot of 4* restaurants should aspire to. Boxes were provided to bring home anything you couldn't manage.
Highly recommended.
C. D. (.
Large garden centre with a wide range of products, including garden furniture and sheds.
D. S.
I was served today by Carole who is an absolute credit to Dobbies. My request was a little unusual but this did not faze Carole at all. She went out of her way to helpful and was an absolute pleasure going over a d above to ensure I was happy before I purchased my Alps five piece set. Thank you so much. I will definately be back! ☺️
M. A.
Nice place to kill a couple of hours and have a coffee. Huge variety of things for sale including brand name clothing and garden accessories. Large fish section with a good selection of species at good prices. The prices aren't very reasonable at all on the things for sale, but no dearer than any other garden centre in the UK (we just don't buy the obviously over priced items from there.
Garden furniture for example can be several hundred pounds more than identical things online. But if cost was your concern, you would know not to come to a garden centre in the first place!).
Staff are very friendly, the place is clean and tidy, and they are always rearranging layouts to suit the season. All in all, a good garden centre, no different to other good ones in the country.
M. M.
The shopping at the garden centre was a really good experience, with a huge range of unusual gifts. Unfotunately the service at the restaurant was awful.
R. L.
Me and my partner just came for breakfast and I got to say it was one of the nicest breakfast I have had in a while. Clean hot and great coffee. Helpful staff. Highly advise coming here with your family and doggos. Will be returning 😁
S. B.
Great choice for; plants, tools, accessories, garden furniture, BBQs and pretty much everything you need for your garden, all at reasonable prices. We picked up two hanging baskets, very pretty and only £6 each. Helpful, friendly staff and a good cafe.
D. P.
I took a friend there today for a luxury afternoon tea for her 80th birthday and was super impressed! The sandwiches and cakes were ridiculously good (battenburg made on the premises was much better than the usual stuff bought in packets!) And it was excellent value for money. Paul hosted brilliantly and should be commended for his attention to detail. He took time to make sure my elderly friend was comfy and had everything she needed. All in all very impressed!
M. T.
Normally come here to pop into the in store Maidenhead Aquatics who have a great range of healthy fish and very helpful staff. Garden centre is very good too though with a large range of indoor and outdoor plants, pots, furniture, etc etc. Cafe looks great too though I've not eaten there myself. Worth a look if your passing.
J. C.
Good garden centre, plenty of parking and nice to have a walk around, especially at Christmas, clean loos In case you're taking the kids. It's nice and open so you don't feel as claustrophobic as you can In some similar garden centres. In my opinion it's a bit on the pricey side but they do have a couple of bargains if you keep an eye out. The service is good in the store. The only reason it's just 3 stars for me is the cafe. It's ok for coffee and cake but if you want lunch or dinner there the service is bordering on hostile and I'm afraid to say it's more often than not on my visits that they've run out of several meals and we end up with second or third choice. Quality of food is ok and for value it's average. That being said, coffee and cake is great.
A. C.
Great selection of plants and so much else! Lovely place! Great ideas for unusual gifts.
A. S.
Love it at dobbies Can't wait to see my friends and people there again. And, I'm looking forward to seeing all them lovely plants again too
M. K.
This place is like a little village of its own. Internal plants, furniture, decorative items and so much more. Visitors are welcomed into a large open space with paths leading off in 3 directions. Generally these are; straight ahead for internal furnishings, right for household plants & fishtanks, left for ornamental items and garden / conservatory furniture and the ( very nice) cafe. Beyond these are the sheltered and large open areas for a huge variety of garden items from hanging baskets to sheds, decorative paving to fishponds, fountains to trees.
Staff have been knowledgeable and very helpful, many busy in maintaining the environment to make the shopping experience enjoyable and satisfying for customers, like me.
J.
Very pleasant garden centre, huge variety of goods and a nice restaurant. Staff went out of their way to be helpful and the store was following the latest covid guidelines. Thanks!
C. B.
Loved every minute, was a great visit.
C. G.
Everything is now back to normal. Good to see new spring plants coming into stock.
C.
Pleasant enough as garden beer centres go. Not my favourite hang out under any banner. A good selection of plants, hardware, and concession shops. All a bit pricey. The cafe is nice with good coffee and snacks but, again, a bit expensive.
E. M.
Pop in for a quick afternoon break with a copy of tea and sandwich.its was good quality and service was quick ,staff was friendly and helpful as I was with my disabled wife .and was struggling to take items to the table .after food we went round the store and brought a few items also pop in to the Sainsbury's bit which was new to both of us .damage done to wallet .will definitely recommend and visit again
A. W.
Absolutely busy and packed on Sundays. Nice to buy your plants, cooking books or tweed, but expensive comparing to other garden centers. Nice food tho and cream tea option. Good deli, average coffee, nice plants selection.
L. O.
Love visiting Dobbies. Lots of different things to see here. Plenty of outdoor plants, furniture, sheds, hot tubs and summer houses. Inside are lots of indoor plants. They have conservatory furniture, clothing, candles, books and foodhall. Ideal place to visit no matter the weather. They have a really nice restaurant area and provide excellent choice of hot meals or snacks. Definitely worth a visit.
I. W.
Dobbies is a good garden centre. Nice cafe. Good selection of plants and garden stuff. Surprised to see the foodhall is now a Sainsburys.
F. H.
Great garden centre with a large selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. Plus a great selection of summer houses and indoor and outdoor accessories
J. D.
Not bad been in better garden centre
S. J.
Great place to shop for loads of different things all under one roof, from plants to clothes to fishes!. Nice large cafe on site with good choice and great sized car park. Love the afternoon Lux Tea!
M. V. D. B.
Me and my wife had a lovely lunchtime meal there , it very tasty and cooked to a high standard as it should be. I would recommend Dobbies anytime for a meal.
K. G.
Negatives, food expensive and generally low quality, Long queues for coffee counter.
Positives, lovely coffee and option to us a coffee machine so do not have to queue at the counter.
seating area plentiful
and clean
Positives, also good garden centre, very good car parking. good section of gift ideas.

It was hard to find some things. Not in the areas you would expect. Perhaps only on my isolated visit, but even though it wasn't busy, there weren't many staff around to ask questions of, and the knowledge could have been better of the assistant I did find. Those things asside, the place is well presented and the staff who were there are helpful and friendly. Food is nice too, if a little pricey.
L. C.
Enjoyed being able to shop for garden essentials and love what they are trying to do to keep us all happy and safe in the current circumstances, they're doing an amazing job and deserve as much clapping as any front line staff or carers as well as a salary raise for putting themselves out there!
M. M.
Lovely garden center, full of beautiful flowers. Well planned layout and also offer some home furnishings. Quaint little cafe with good seating, parking is free and plenty of spaces available.
J. W.
Very busy on Sunday. Restaurant tables all had used crockery and trays on them. We and everybody else had to clear to find a table to use. Long queue's at the tills which were not moving very quickly. Thought some items were relatively expensive compared to other garden centres we have used. Probably not impressed as it is run up to Christmas.
P. O.
Went there today, quite a nice place, but we were very disappointed with our refreshments , I had a piece of chocolate roùlard and my husband had the chocolate gateau, they were both dry ( maybe the fridge was to cold) and the very generous filling turned out not to be fresh cream but a very thick sickly imitation. Give them their due when I went back and looked at the cake display it did not say what type of creating , but when the cream cakes are in a fridge I think most people would expect the real thing.
T. G.
Nice garden centre but the queue for afternoon tea was ridiculous at 2pm on a Sunday with only 2 people serving teas, while the hot food staff were just standing around. Very badly staffed and organised, so disappointing. Lots of unhappy customers. Took ages to get our table cleared from the previous people who'd ate at it. We'd finished eating by the time it was cleared.
B.
Plenty of parking & great selection of gardening products in-store. There is also a nice restaurant serving everything from main meals to tea & coffee. There are a number of concessions selling good quality clothing & other lifestyle items. Dobbies sells everything from a bedding plant to a BBQ or high quality garden furniture.
S. A.
Fantastic place.. lots of selections, bit expensive though.. the restaurant is good too.
H. G.
Beautiful garden centre, amazing visit, even if you don't buy anything, great day out!
J. W.
Plenty of parking. Nice breakfast . Very good at cleaning of chairs and tables after customer use. Staff pleasant and Friendly
D. P.
Great place to shop for loads of different things all under one roof, from plants to clothes to fishes!. Nice large cafe on site with good choice and great sized car park. Love the Cotton Traders shop in there!
E. E.
Great garden place with a huge variety of home products and decorations. Totally recommended to all.
S. W.
Always a lovely shopping experience. We bought some shrubs to finish our front garden and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas decs
S. T.
My daughter and I had lunch here and everything was clean and the service was very good.
S. A. M.
Partner and i love it here we sometimes go just to chill for an hour on a day off. Good selection of plants loads of coldwater / tropical fish, lovely cafe tasty food. A good place to just wonder about and chill 😃
A. B. W.
If your looking for a place to visit and wander around then pick this place you might be placental surprised they just don't sell plants and flowers, furniture, clothing, food, pets etc come to mind also they have a restaurant nice place to go for a Sunday morning breakfast or afternoon tea why not reserve a table for afternoon. Tea, quality of food sorry to say is not consistent and some staff not very helpful or have an understanding of the food, ie, hot means hot not warm, dry food is not what customers want, most customers want simple plain food which is hot good quality and served by a pleasant person who wants to be there so to speak, don't get me wrong have had some nice food, but mostly mediocre nothing to write home so tend to stick to tea and a scone if I can cakes are good, but sometime you need more than a cake, shame as this could quiet easily be an excellent eating area as it offers plenty of space, my opinion it does not have an identity they keep changing so so not get time to develop, never enough cutlery everytime we visit have to chase for cutlery, cleaning tables is an issue for some staff, notice one or two use this time to waste and the speed is worth watching, sometimes I think might be a good idea to go for a cuppa so can watch them working or not. All customers want is a clean dried clean table, like I said this restaurant is well under used, well sited within MK could host a.lot more functions etc
J. W.
I love Dobbies! Best Garden centre by far. Staff are always mega helpful and friendly and it's a lovely place to be. Chris and his plant knowledge along with Sue and her customer service skills make it what it is!
A**
(P.S. it's dog friendly)
R. T.
So much to see! Now includes a Sainsbury foodhall. Love Cotton Traders too!!
T. S.
I love Dobbies. Their cakes are lovely. They have some lovely plants and bonsai trees in glass pots at very reasonable prices.
M. C.
A good selection of plants, shrubs, trees and garden furniture. Inside there is a good and affordable restaurant. They sell food, books furniture, pet food, live fish and it's an excellent place to visit at Christmas time. The staff are friendly and very helpful
M. R.
Lovely garden centre. Very helpful young man sorted out what I needed for my new pressure washer.
i. c.
Amazing!
D. S.
Usually very good but sandwiches in cafe very disappointing hardly any filling given
G. S.
OK some plants look willted have pick through them apart from that better than when ztesco owned them
B. R.
Dobbies is great, but this one doesn't seem to know what it is. It's a very nice garden center, but also has a large clothing section as well as a food section, you section and book/DVD section. It's more of a department store than a garden center.
S. P.
Enjoyed the luxury afternoon tea with friends - fabulous selection and plenty of it ! Staff were excellent, especially Mark, the restaurant Manager - nothing was too much trouble! Well recommend and look forward to returning!
P. B.
Thank you so much to Jamie in the garden department of Dobbies today. He was so pleasantly informative, 'specially about trees & helped us chose a suitable one for our needs. He is a polite young chap who enjoys what he's doing. Good luck for the future.
b. h.
Wayne and team at MK are first class! We bought our Spa over 18 months ago and is perfect in every aspect! Great advice and due to a back injury Wayne was able to give us honest advice on which tub to purchase and why. This purchase has without doubt assisted me in my recovery and ongoing treatment. Not to mention the many nights enjoying the tub with a nice glass of wine! Great product ,great service, great staff. I would never look elsewhere whilst Wayne and the team are on hand to assist. Visited there only this weekend to buy some water cleaning agents and Wayne cannot assist you enough even though he knows you have already made a large purchase! Thanks and keep up the hard work!
R. J.
Quiet here today glad to say
Picked up a few bargains,Sunday dinner plus dessert under a fiver in the in-store Sainsbury's
G. D.
Bank holiday Monday and not enough staff!!
Its12.50 and the queue for the tills is stretching back to the back of the shop!!
Just tried phoning the switchboard but no one's answering that!!
N. “. F.
Dobbies has so much scope to be the best garden centre in MK but it's overpriced and catered to elders in all departments in my opinion. I leave empty handed a lot of the time and can get what I need for half the price off ebay. Shops need to realise they are too expensive
L. R.
Visited for the aquatics centre, huge range of accessories to cover all needs. Bigger range of fish than any other local store and staff where very helpful. Prices were also very reasonable.
P. K.
I enquired about Flymo parts at the desk and was told where to go to find them.
A chap who works there happily helped me, I’d got the old part and he helped by providing a new one.
Perfect so far.
I went to Cotton Traders and selected two tops, didn’t need a bag but carefully held onto my receipt.
Chose a birthday card, bottle of coke and a cake and proceeded to a cash desk.
The counter was muddy and wet.
The young sales girl was standing doing nothing.
I handed her my items but I refused to put them on the counter.
Instead I used my hand and brushed off an area that looked dusty only to find that, it too, was wet and dusty.
Hand mucky I now had to juggle my items and pay!
As the sale went through I asked had she got any cleaning materials, paper or wipes?
No she said.
As I walked away I noticed 3 people in the customer service area, a chap sitting reclined with his leg crossed looking set in for a while.
A young woman who didn’t have her face towards me and another woman with a high viz vest on.
I asked was there a supervisor there?
The high viz lady said she was.
I asked her if she would please help her young colleague on the till and explained why.
I’m writing this because I cannot see why there were inadequate facilities to keep customers shopping clean and dry?
Why these young staff do not think this out for themselves?
Why the customer service desk seemed to be an additional resting place when clearly the staff all need to keep your beautiful shop customer friendly?
Oh and the sales girl did not ask if I had a dobbies card ( I do but was juggling and trying to stop my stuff getting ruined)
Hey ho.
Dobbies are coming to Aylesbury , I hope you keep the staff they have at Wyevale, they clear the desks so often......
G. R.
An excellent breakfast in the cafe. Superb food and wonderful to meet the new manager. Definitely recommend a visit.
K. B.
I went in family fun day 18th Nov. The atmosphere was lovely. There was a live band singing Christmas songs, a young girl dressed up as Elsa from Frozen reading stories to children. The staff throughout were dressed all Christmassy.....It was a very pleasant experience...🙂
G. C.
It is good in places but lots of items are missing still, so you got to go to other garden centres or diy stores to get them.
P. L.
Just parked in the carpark.nice shop can spend a fortune in there
D. D.
Very Good Big Garden Center close to MK...recomend to make Golden Club Cards. Members cost £12 all Year... And a lot of Benefits
S. B.
Lovely place to visit for food and drink. They have a wide range of things to buy from clothes, plants, seeds, garden furniture, bbqs, pots even fence panels and garden ornaments. I could spend hours here looking at everything they have on sale.
L. T.
The staff are really helpful And I got everything I wanted But when I went to take that compose backBecause I had too muchThey would give me my money back just a creditI was disappointed in that
A. N.
Had a mini English breakfast in the cafe. Very well priced and very tasty.
L. M.
This is a fun place to visit. Many come for lunch at the restaurant. Apart from the farm shop which is worth a look there are the usual candle, clothing and gift offerings, as well as plants and garden equipment. Large parking facilities.
M. K.
A very large and well stocked garden centre with a great aquatic centre. Staff were very helpful.
S. O.
A lovely garden centre, but not very good service in the breakfast counter. You can't change a single item on the breakfast
I. C.
The centre was clean with social distancing in place including taking contact details if you enter the cafe.hiwever the plants weren't in the best of conditions slot were dry an wilting whilst other were being choked by weeds in the bottom of the pot
s. k.
Very nice garden centre.. it's huge and has a variety of plants.
G. B.
Garden centre great but check out queue stretched to back of the shop. Sadly had to put my plant back. Will go back another day
M. L.
Great visit. Covid Safe. Able to have a meal in restaurant. Helpful staff. Long queue for checkout as we left!

Great place for lunch and coffee...plenty of garden stuff....plants, food, fish inc Koi, they also have an on-site car wash facility.
You can also book a special afternoon tea which is good a special occasion.
M. H. (. b.
The sandwiches in the kids pack has seeds in it. There needs to be a WARNING on the packet. The deputy manager was good. The chocolate brownies were delicious. The drinks were good but the sandwiches in the kids pack were not.
J.
We went to enjoy a lovely lazy afternoon tea.And we did.
J. C.
Lovely garden centre, great range of items but let down by the service in the cafe, had to wait almost 20 minutes to pay by which time our drinks were almost cold but the cream scone was lovely.
B. N.
Very nice coffee and cake in restaurant, and they was doing the right thing by asking for phone number for track and trace. Got what we wanted in shop
H. J. D.
It is always a good afternoon tea at Dobbies. We know the service will be slow, because their seems to be only one lady doing it all, but while all 10 of us, chat away, this very pleasant lady, never stops rushing around with everyone's orders.I would defiantly recommend it.
T. T.
A lot of varieties and good prices. The attendance is very good.
S. s.
We brought my niece here for breakfast with santa we thought it was great and my niece loved it,seeing her face when santa came in was magical, thank you so much to the staff aswell who were very helpful and friendly xx

R. C.
Good garden centre with a wide range of reasonably priced plants and gifts. It also has a restaurant serving a good range of snacks and main meals.
P. W.
Sainsbury's in this branch. So not just lots of Garden Centre goods, all your shopping in one site.
C.
Pleasant enough as garden beer centres go. Not my favourite hang out under any banner. A good selection of plants, hardware, and concession shops. All a bit pricey. The cafe is nice with good coffee and snacks but, again, a bit expensive.
b. s.
My children loved feeding the fish, and look g at all the types of fish.
Very helpfull man at the outdoor flower section

Very well organised as usual at Dobbies even under the covid 19 conditions at present its card payment only understandably well done guys
P. M.
Had what we wanted however only had 2 checkouts open.. queue was around the shop at lunchtime, left my items walked out the shop....
T. B.
All around gardening experience nice restaurant but could do more with it, sometimes not sure if it knows what it wants to sell, as the franchise companies sometimes don't fit, I know they are trying to make your visit a better shopping experience, so why not as there members what they would like to see both in the shopping experience and eating but still a nice place to visit, plenty parking spaces also disabled parking, you can even get your car cleaned as you do your shopping
M.
Went for breakfast today with the eat out to help out and it was lovely the only thing is that it was extremely busy and service takes a bit long when there busy but would recommend to have breakfast and I would go again
R. S.

I was really annoyed yesterday in Dobbies when we queued for coffee, clear 2m markings in queue, why were people not adhering the 2m rule and what's more why are staff not enforcing it!!!
T. L.
Not the only nursery in Milton Keynes but you will find the best variety here and a huge number of options. The farm shop and restaurant is very decent as well.

K. R.
Can't fault them ! Was happy to help and I got what I needed
