Reviews of Dobbies Garden Centre Ponteland
A. D.
A great garden centre, fantastic layout and a wide variety of bedding plants, shrubs, trees, bulbs and annuals and much more...
There us also multiple business on site including Maidenhead Aquatics for all your fish, fishkeeping needs and pond equiptment. Also Sainsburys and Cotton Traders too.
There is a cafe onsite as well, and a local pub just next door.
The staff are really friendly and helpful.
You can basically find everything you need in one place here.
P. R.
Dobbies garden centres are always comprehensively stocked with good quality items. The one in Ponteland is no exception either. A large parking area and car wash makes it a pleasure to visit. I like the conservatory area when eating. Sadly lacking a decent child’s play area but apart from, highly recommended.

Went for coffee today. It was very busy and the staff in the restaurant seemed stressed. The lady who served me at the till was very abrupt, bordering upon rude. I do appreciate how stressful it can be working in this environment and the staff are usually lovely but I was taken aback by her manner. She was also very curt to the couple behind me in the queue when none of us had done anything to warrant it. As the saying goes, she should remember that if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Visited the cafe as part of a group on a care home trip out. All the residents enjoyed their lunches. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
R. P.
Gone down in my estimation. Set breakfast items - no choice. Could they possibly do cereal for children who do not want a fried breakfast? Why is the only menu on the wall behind the staff behind the counter? I couldn't read it and had to ask my husband what was on offer. He was wearing his distance glasses and still struggled.
S. D.
Beautiful place for a vast array of plants, flowers & there's a lovely fish area with tanks & koi. Friendly staff & nice vibes

Just stopped for a quick coffee. The coffee was good and hot,the staff very helpful and pleasant. And the whole place was spotless.would recommend.

Lots of Christmas items on sale now. Had a look round and enjoyed a lovely full English. Very nice.
J. k. (.
For a large garden centre I was on the whole pleasantly surprised, there are lots of nick nacs on sale some good xmass gifts, the cafe was nice too good coffee and my raspberry and white chocolate muffin was yummy, there a grocery store selling local goods and a butcher's too with a wide range of local meats, my first time but I'd defo how back 😁
K. M.
Had a brilliant time at Dobbies garden center. They have a fantastic Christmas section at the moment and a lovely Santa's grotto. Food at the restaurant was nice as well
C. D.
Nice garden centre with a mix of products. Does feel a bit like a care home. Decent place to stop off for a cuppa, cracking cake selection. Worth mentioning that if you join the Dobbies club at £10 per year you get two free coffees per month - they also price match on stuff.
Plenty parking and a decent pub next door for a proper drink if required.
G. G.
Really slow service on queuing to order food but think they were short staffed and lots of food unavailable as run out. The staff were working very hard bless them
J. K.
Slow service in café otherwise excellent. Coffee excellent and served from central aisle. Very efficient staff. X
Good cheese scone and latte. Later was a little cool, otherwise good.
Service much improved. Good coffee and scone.
Excellent soup.
Good coffee and bacon bap.
S. T.
Dobbies Ponteland is always good food. Plenty of parking and at the moment plentiful Xmas displays.
C. M.
We are regular visitors, utilising the in-store Sainsbury and the aquatic shop mainly. Cafe is, always nice for a visit too.
M. “. F.
Not very busy today despite special discount for Dobbies card holders. Really nice pies in the restaurant and quicker hot drinks service.
J. C.
Staff very friendly and helpful got what I needed no problem
D. E.
A novice marine fish keeper and were very helpful even letting me return aggressive and swapping for a more suitable fish for my tank
A. E.
Its a lovely experience going to Dobbies there's plenty to look at plants, kitchenware and plenty others. The cafe is excellent with a wide variety of things to choose from ranging from tea or coffee, scones, cake, and soup to a full meal all if these are delicious
J. H.
Excellent range of indoor and outdoor plants and shrubs.
Water features well displayed.
Small range of clothes and household goods, garden lights and furniture, a pet supplies store, a diverse selection of cards and calendars, a small Sainsbury's and a canny cafe with fresh food, teas and coffees etc all to be found in-store.
Easy to spend a couple of hours here if you just want to wander.
An excellent place to solve birthday or anniversary gifts.
Free parking, and an excellent hand wash facility where the lads do a good job too.
Tick those boxes!!!

Covid stopped a lot so not been in for longtime great looking plants. centre changed a little bit inside but still nice place to go plenty of parking I'm sure if you want something be surprised if they have not got it handy having a pub next door if you like that sort of thing ( I do) David

Garden centre itself is great, but I’m afraid it’s let down greatly by the restaurant. Both experiences were as bad as each other. Staff are a delight, not a smile amongst them. Not enough of them either so you have to wait for ages to get to the end of the line so you can pay for your items. Had macaroni cheese first visit, paid £10 for it which in itself is a disgraceful price for what it was. A small dish of soggy macaroni with that much seasoning it tasted nothing like cheese at all! But never the less we did visit again I thought maybe last time was a one off. Nope! Second visit staff were arguing about who should have their break first and the food again was awful. Soggy, mushy tuna in burnt bread that was supposed to be a ‘tuna melt’. Safe to say we will not be returning to the restaurant again.
G. F.
Had afternoon tea on Mother's Day . From start to finish it was wonderful. Staff so attentive and friendly nothing too much bother. Special thanks to Jamie and Mel for making it a special experience for my Mam . Well done Dobbies
R. C. (.
I was surprised by how big it was. And the range of items was surprising. I thought it was just a garden centre. But it had a restaurant, food and drink section. House hold goods, and a lot more. The restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant. Definitely worth a look to. Kids will love the fish in the tanks.
C. S.
Great for gardening, patio furniture, BBQs and fuel, good selection of house plants also food hall, butcher's and restaurant.
J. C.
Great place for your everyday to average day gardener, pets instore which is a nice touch and a nice cafe/restaurant also.
The store also includes a nice little Sainsburys instore if you need to do quick shop which is also equipped with a decent butchers, the staff are really friendly, quite approchable, will be coming back for sure.
T. G.
Spot on garden centre, it's very big and thus very well stocked, helpful staff, wide variety of both gardening and indoor products. It's a little expensive, but Dobbies generally are.
The addition of a Sainsbury's supermarket in-store is fantastic, you can get the essentials in there with you petunias!
Oh and the Badger next door is a fantastic pub and eatery, highly recommend there.
C. W.
Plenty of different plants to choose from, lovely garden ornaments too. Only downside is it's hard to view certain sections if you are pushing a wheelchair as they are gravel/you have to lift wheelchair over their yellow hose pipe. Apart from that, it's disabled friendly all instore.
R. M.
Great until I realised they had charged me £2 each for a couple of tiny plastic trays for plant pots. 20p each in Wilko. They had a water strayer for £10 as well and that was £1 in Wilko. Stop it
A. W.
Not visited this branch of Dobbies before.
Good variety of things to look at. Very good selection of plants all looking healthy.
Excellent service in the restaurant with table service outside.
All the staff I encountered were very polite and helpful.
Another excellent Dobbies visit.
c. l.
Spent Saturday afternoon for Mothers day at Dobbies for mothers day afternoon tea with my 83 year old mam and two sisters the 2 members of staff are a credit to Dobbies their great service and sense of humour was terrific and the added box of chocolates was a lovely thought well done Dobbies my mam had a lovely day x
H. M.
Excellent store, friendly staff & great range of products. Lots of concession stores too, Edinburgh Wool Shop, Cotton Traders, Joules etc. with good sale & clearance sections. Garden centre parts can be slightly more expensive but all quality plants, bulbs & garden accessories. Cafe/ restaurant has great daily offers and top quality food. Service exceptional.
J. M.
Called into the Garden Centre for a look around and a snack. The staff in the restaurant were working so hard and were so helpful but there clearly wasn’t enough on duty.
I understand that these are new times and things won’t be the same for a long time, if ever but can I make one suggestion to management? Pay £9 for a sandwich and a coffee and sit in the restaurant and look around. The feel is probably worse than sitting in a works canteen. The conservatory had been turned into a store room with everything on show. There has to be a middle ground in keeping people safe but making it a pleasant experience? I imagine that you make a lot of money from the restaurant but I don’t think I will be returning soon. Take a look at Morrison’s Cafes. They have realised that social distancing is here for a long time and they have installed screens that are pretty and keeps the feeling of a normal cafe and not somewhere you can sit down if you really have to!
Like I said, I understand that these are new times but please tweak your restaurants to make the price of the food worth the money.
B. K.
A good selection of all gardening items. A bit more on the expensive side but if you are struggling to get something they likely have it
D. M.
We went to the cafe which was very well organised with details taken and tables set out socially distanced apart. Felt very safe there. On top of this the coffee, hot chocolate and scones were very good.
N. I.
Big garden centre with lots on offer. Lovely selection of plants out the back with lots if other garden items like water features. Nice store layout inside and the food hall has a great selection as well. Dog friendly and you will often see a fair few wandering around. Nice day out if you pair it with a trip to the badger.
A. G.
Café coffee was fine - all staff were wearing masks but not all were wearing them properly - about 3 didn’t have their noses covered. Then I saw one staff member clear a table and wipe with a cloth but no spray was used so it wasn’t disinfected . I don’t think we will use the cafe again. Sad because the food and coffee is very good there and we used to enjoy going.
B. L.
Well laid out, signed directions for support during Covid-19 in store. Sensible amount of people in the store, plenty of room to browse and shop.
Prices are always on the higher side at Robbie's, but worth it at the moment to be able to get what you need for the garden.
Excellent range of plants, you should be able to get everything you need there right now without having to shop around.
s. t.
Great afternoon tea for Teylor 9th birthday
M. G.
Good choice of products and a great restaurant
j. b.
Picked up two very well looked after houseplants, and a couple of ferns to go outside, not the right time of the year to be purchasing ferns (they normally die back a bit) so I was very happy that they had some in stock.
J. F.
Staff are lovely plants are good some good bargains sometimes
B. D. d.
Excellent range of products, good food in the cafe, very pleasant environment. Worth a visit.

We are regular customers at Dobbies at Ponteland. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially the lovely ladies that work in the restaurant. We are always made to feel very welcome and the service is excellent and always with a smile
A. D.
Our favourite garden centre, Dobbies, Ponteland continues to provide 2nd to none service. A recent purchase from the outdoor department did not come up to expectations. One email and an exchange of calls and it was satisfactorily sorted. Thank you to Stephen Warren and staff for resolving our problem in a very professional manner.
M. K.
Was here today. Food is good, but the staff very very slow at clearing tables in Conservatory and only doing some of tables. We were at the table reserved for 6 people at 12 noon and were there till after 4pm and the table beside us was never cleared plus two others close to it.
Also it would be nice if there were some Gluten Free Sandwiches or Paninis and a few homemade Gluten Free Sponges.

I purchased some furniture last week to be delivered today but just cannot get through to Dobbies. Yesterday I rang 5 times and was told that a manager would call me back (Jordan) to discuss an approximate delivery time (i never got the call). I work shifts and was only asking if it would be morning or afternoon so i could arrange my shift around it. This morning I have called now 8 times but they are not picking up and the message says they are closed but its been open since 9am. So frustrating.
B. Y.
The garden centre its self is very good, it's a good place to go when shopping for a wide variety of things, however, I have had bad experiences with the aquatics section - when we bought plants from there, our aquarium became quickly infested with snails, the one time we got a tropical fish from there it turned out to be sick and we had to treat our tank, and today when I tried to buy a goldfish for my pond I was refused as it would be going into tank first, even after I had explained it would be for temporary quarantine purposes and I had ample filtration to deal with it, which I do for all my fish and have done for 10+ years! Ridiculous. This store would be 5 stars if not for the aquatics centre bringing it down. I don't recommend getting fish or plants there, they clearly want the best for their animals but turning an experienced owner down on top of the other poor experiences I've had there is beyond a joke. By all means visit the overall store, but stay clear of their aquariums.
A. S.
Comprehensive selection of goods on offer, gardening and otherwise, and a pretty sizable grocery/market area. Not the cheapest, but these places never are, so no complaints there.
Good sized car park and a decent pub, The Badger, is right next door, so you haven't got far to go for a bite to eat, assuming the in-store cafe isn't your cup of tea, so to speak...
m. g.
Very pleasant coffee & scone but always a queue at the restaurant; more staff needed. Those who do work there, on the whole, are very pleasant but sometimes harassed!
J. L.
Plants, etc very good. Cafe well organised but won't be having the cheese scones again as they were very sweet and lacked cheese. Returned them and second scones were very slightly less sweet but still no cheese.
S. A.
Lunch arrangement & our first coffee was fine, but unhappy about being told we would have to queue again for a 2nd cup of coffee as there was insufficient staff to serve. This would have meant standing at least 30 mins. So we did not stay.
N. R.
Got what we wanted clean and covid safe.
Plenty of parking .no queues Had lunch in restaurant. Tasty sandwiches friendly staff, quick service though they were busy. Great chips
G. D.
Went to have coffee and a cheese scone, being sugar intolerant asked if sugar was in the scone at lovely lady named Mel checked out the ingredients, and yes there was sugar in the cheese scone she went above and beyond to help couldn't thank her enough
C. P.
The actual plant area is good with a healthy range of plants . The assistant I spoke to was very helpful . I bought some great plants . However the two stars knocked off are for the cafe ! The serving staff were unhelpful to the point of being rude and I had to clear my own table . The food was fine, for a garden centre, but the unsmiling and unhelpful staff in the cafe (not the plant area ) was disappointing.
J. H.
The only place we had problems with was cafe the store it self was fabulous cafe was poor needs reorganization 2stars for cafe
L. P.
I love Dobbies garden centre, they have everything you will need for your garden and their prices are quite reasonable.
Well worth going to have a look around and grab a cuppa in their spacious restaurant.
A. F.
No queues - sanitiser for baskets/trolleys at entrance. Lots of nice spring/summer plants & bulbs to buy. Now has Sainsbury's inside. Only Joules clothing now (EWM area all closed) , but lots of "non plant" products to buy. Restaurant was open, but, sign saying "seating outside was at full capacity". Plenty of parking.
B. M.
Excellent service, they knew exactly what I wanted, could not have been more helpful even at the checkout.
j. l.
This was my first outing in 3 months. I was very nervous. I chose to wear mask and gloves and carried anti viral wipes as if I was going on a jungle adventure. No need for concern. Everything was very well organised. Social distancing markers throughout, hand saniters throughout and very helpful staff. Confidence restored! I now just have to plant everything!
J. J.
Great centre plenty free parking, good selection of products though obviously cost a bit more though things tend to last especially their plants. Cakes from the cafe worth it to
S. M.
Good choice and excellent food/coffee
r. m. (.
Lots of choice. Concessions in store. Cotton Traders and Sainsbury. Outdoors with plants, pots etc. In store cafe.
J. L.
Excellent restaurant choice service and seating in this well stocked garden centre.
The toilets are immaculate too a and overall exceeded our expectations for our stop over.
Liked the link with community projects this weekend including the local craft fair and dog show!
Dobbies should use their template to enhance their customer offering in the Edinburgh Melville garden centre.
w. d.
Fairly well stocked store.
Few display blubs/lighting flashing.
Very nice cafe. Plenty of room.
Ample of car parking.
A.
Don't go anywhere else for steaks! Absolutely beautiful meat, good prices and fantastic customer service. Would definitely recommend - 5 star plus
A. H.
Nice garden centre although I usually go there because of the Maidenhead Aquatics franchise. It is the best aquarium shop in the area for marine fish especially. I then have a browse around the rest of the centre and normally shop in the food section which is also excellent.
.
Unfortunately when I visited yesterday there was some prat using the store tannoy system at full blast to announce the twenty percent off offer every three minutes. Annoying does not even begin to describe the racket he made. Needless to say I was out of the centre as fast as possible without buying anything other than the live food that
I needed from Maidenheads.
D. K.
Great place for shopping for plants and garden furniture. Staff very friendly and the cafe is a nice place to relax after a long day of shopping.
C. S.
Had a 2 meals for £10 voucher, so me & a friend went along to use it. My friend had the fish & chips which she said was very nice. However, I had the Cumberland sausage, which was a mistake ! The sausage was fine, however, even though I asked for no gravy, it was extremely sloppy, so much so, it was hard to keep the sausage , cooked tomato, mashed potato, peas & carrots on my fork ! Not sure if this was due to the fact they had indeed put some gravy on (although not much), or if the tomato was too juicy, but it was completely spoilt & tasteless !
D. F.
Excellent Christmas roast, great value, food was hot and moist, tender and tasty. Staff were so helpful especially regarding gluten free options. We'll come again and make a be line for here as it was so nice.
H. B.
We visited on Sunday 5th November and as always went to eat in the restaurant. However I have to say on this occasion we had a bad experience. To start with we ordered two roasts, one gammon and the other beef. After getting my other half settled in his wheelchair at the table I went to get the cutlery. There were no knives and had to wait until the dishwasher completed it's cycle. In the meantime our meals arrived and still missing the cutlery. By this time quite a throng of people had gathered causing a bottleneck in the area around the tills. I eventually peered behind a screen to find a young member of staff polishing the knives up at which I asked if I might have two as our food had been ready for ages. When I eventually got back to our food I could have been excused for thinking we had been given child size meals. There was no mote than a tablespoon of mashed potato, likewise mashed suede, one carrot, three tiny segments of cauliflower, two pieces of roast potato and a few slithers of parsnip. Underneath were thin slices of fatty meat of both the varieties which bore no resemblance to the joints on display but rather like you would get in wafer thin packs. Apart from the knives other items were in short supply or run out which included butter and a small jug of milk for one large teapot. Not to be defeated I went to get a slice of cake that I always enjoy but gave up as there was no one to serve me. I did notice the assistant who was there earlier was the wrong side of the counter chatting oblivious to myself. I thought it odd in view of the obvious shortage of staff. One last point is the Christmas display area was very sparse and not at all as previous years and as we had travelled some distance we came away very disappointed if not more than a little disgusted. My advise would be is to put people before profit.
C. H.
Ponteland was fab, however we went to Morpeth one previous Sunday and you wouldnt think that they were from the same group, absolutely terrible, staff hadn't a clue, really gone back since the days of Heighleygate, don't think we, ll be visiting there in the near future, cafe was terrible, no choice, dead flies on the window sills, they need to come down and see how Ponteland is run!
F. P.
Great and we were able to have lunch on the patio. Welcome back staff at the restaurant as helpful and friendly as ever. We were able to buy most of the things that we went to buy.
J. W.
Great gift ideas. Good selection of cakes at the restaurant. Not a big fan of theory hot meals.problems is, by the time you get the coffre/tea the hot food is cold. It's a bit pricy for self service.
S. H.
The more and more I got to dobbies the less and less I like it. The food at the cafe is not bad for a quick bite to eat but if you walk around the shop it is like they have forgotten they are a garden center. They have clothes, a fish section, a board game section and other nonsense that a garden center should just not have.
P. B.
Excellent selection of colourful winter plants to brighten your garden.
Very tasty food at reasonable prices.
Lots of other knick knacks to make browsing interesting.
Very good 'high class food store'.
p. s.
Two for one offer on cream scones and our free cup of tea/coffee for being members makes a plecent afternoon.
E. W.
Good range of garden supplies, plants as well as clothing outlets, gifts, cards, store very bare, waiting for Autumn stock, been that way for weeks. Cafe menus changed, limited range, ok if you like cheese and fatty stuff.
A. E.
Very quiet, fewer plants available, checkout staff somewhat unhelpful when my wife had problems using the card machine due to light reflections and didn't release it from the counter to make it easier to read.
b. h.
Re xmas decorations. Unfortunately after many years of coming to dobbies my wife and I have found that this year is the worst ever. Come on dobbies get your act together and do something about it.
K. C.
Love the location and the store itself however the queues are sometimes too long. Maybe more staff on the tills would be beneficial. The staff that are there are wonderful
b. p.
Incredibly eclectic range of goods.
Not that garden centres should be rated on their DVD selection but a host of WW2 films, range of BBC dramas, the original star wars trilogy and the complete first and second season of dollhouse.
But all in all a good place to kill some time while waiting for someone for the airport.
C. M.
Great variety of flowers, bulbs and general gardening accessories. Quiet, clean with a nice aquatic section.
D. P.
Small but very nice, especially after 2pm 2 4 1 on cakes
G. S.
I am disappointed that dobbies has become a convinence store called sainsburys this has changed the way the garden centre looks and it has lost its appeal.if I want to go shopping I will go to to sainsburys. The best thing was we could get local produce from the garden centre.
J. S.
Huge range of plants. We were after pond plants and they had a decent selection although were out of lillies. Staff were helpful
I. W.
Nice layout, a while since visited and had some nice plants at cheap prices. Now have sainsbury inside.
P. G.
A well laid out garden centre. Helpful staff, in particular 'Dave' who went the extra mile to help us. He potted up some trees we bought into new pots and brought them out to the car.
J. H.
Good varied stock
We got our seed potatoes half price e at the end of the planting season and they have grown well. Tuesdays good for a cheap Lunch for over 60s
R. C.
Had trouble booking Santa visit online so I phoned the Newcastle store, a lovely lady called Elaine sorted everything out for me and did it over the phone. She was kind and very helpful, I'm going to have one happy little boy on Friday. Thanks so much Elaine you're a star.
J. “. C.
CV19 cleaning not very good. I watched the cleaner clear away the dirty dishes in the cafe and then cleaned the tables, but the chairs were never touched, they were left with the virus on them. I wont be going back there .... it's too risky
V. C.
Lovely food but when we finished our toastie we decided to get a cake. When we were told we would have to stand in the queue that wrapped most of the way around the restaurant again so we didn’t bother!
R. K.
Had a lovely coffee in the restaurant 👍
S. H.
At this time of year theres plenty of onion sets to choose from. A little pricey (as most garden centres are) but I've grown them before very successfully. An ok decent selection of seeds too.
I.
I only really go to dobbies for the maidenhead aquatics, however they have some decent stuff on sale thoughout the store at the moment 8/8/20, nice vango 5 person tents on sale half price £115 decent price can't imagine them being there long at that price👍
P. H.
I was really disappointed when i had a cheese scone i think they forgot to put the cheese in but they did exchange it for a millionaires shortbread Delicious 😋
P. M.
Visiting Dobbies today with my son, daughter in law who has 'crohn's disease' and my grandson who has severe allergies (always has to have an epi- pen on hand) we needed to know about the menu allergen content. Many thanks to again to Mel who guided us through the choices and we all had a superb meal
I. D.
Nice "Dobbies", well stocked garden centre and store. Good delicatessen and grocery department with a plentiful selection of local foods and drinks, especially beers. Pleasant restaurant and reasonably priced.
X.
Always a great experience.. They have loads for sale, the food hall is excellent with local produce and the restaurant is first class. This can be very busy at times as it is so popular so sometimes be prepared to queue/
p. p.
Good visit. Wanted an indoor plant as a Birthday present .
I. A.
Great garden centre, with a good mix of gifts and flowers, all you need. Also the cafe is lovely, their cheesecake is gorgeous and food always hot. X
C. M.
Great range of plants, fish and gifts. Good lovely. Excellent service. Great loyalty scheme. 2 free coffees a month and extra off bulbs and plants.

A great garden centre good selection of plants
S. B.
Nice cafe with a good selection of food and cakes. Eating areas were reasonably clean. Staff were friendly. Some nice gifts in the shop, and food hall. Nice place to stop off for lunch when passing.
J. B.
I'm vegan so was delighted to find they had a nice vegan soup...some good gifts for people and a good range of food, including alternative. .good cakes and chocolates!
B. S.
The restaurant wasn't really busy at lunchtime but we noticed that there wasn't a great selection on the salad bar so opted for a hot meal instead. My husband chose the jacket with chilli beef and beans while I asked for the jacket with beans. We were advised there wasn't a salad garnish., the usual accompaniment. An alternative was coleslaw which I declined as its not something I like. We waited 15 minutes for this to be brought to our tables to find that there was no cheese on the chilli and mine came with coleslaw added. I refused to accept it as I simply do not like the taste of anything touching it. I was asked if it was OK to have the coleslaw removed with a spoon or the whole thing taken back! We then asked about the missing cheese to which this was quoted as an optional extra. I had already gone to relook at the specials board and it clearly stated chilli AND cheese. We then brought up the pricing for the meals and it was decided to refund a couple of pounds for the missing salad and to provide us both with a free hot drink. It was only then that apologies we're made. Yes it was resolved to our advantage but when we heard of similar stories from the next two tables deter us from eating here in the future.
J. C.
It's lovely worth a look. Nice place but the toilets always have an awful smell husband says the gents is dreadful.
Y.
Me my partner and little girl went had food the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious all around the centre the staff stopped to talk and made conversation with my 2 year old daughter it was a lovely place to be by far the best garden centre we have been was first class
A. B.
Called in to this garden centre yesterday and purchased two lovely lamps in the sale. They are so nice that I rang to see to day if they had any more and if they would put then by for me.The assist, ant whom I spoke to was most help full. Thank you Dobbies for making my visit a nice experience. Will use this store again.

Had a lovely visit to Debbie Ponteland today staff as always very friendly.A short queue but to be expected as keeping social distancing . Well done all the staff
A. R.
Great store, plenty of parking, busy cafe with lots of seating but you have to get there early to get the popular plants
M. R.
Very pleasent and friendly staff. A reasonable standard of stock.and presentation. New mini Sainsbury outlet a bonus.
K. T.
Christmas has arrived looks lovely
G. B.
Lovely place but not enough staff in restaurant.
A. A.
Plenty of choice, up market garden centre rather than just your plant pots and wax jackets. They seem to have epanded their outdoor section, selling windows and wooden huts.sheds. Some of it is very overpriced, especiall the deli. The guy behind the counter was a stark contrast to the lad behind the checkout who was a miserable, rude and generally unhelpful member of staff.
W. C.
The butcher has a great selection, but the food hall is just not the same now it is a Sainsbury's.
D. R.
Nice place but was very cold inside the building. Cafe was good , staff friendly
D. K.
Went there for Cotton Traders outlet iam over 6ft tall it is one of very few places that sell Tee shirts with extra length in the body ........
s. r.
Mel, who organises the afternoon teas, could not have been more helpful from the minute I booked to the minute we left. My Grandma gets out rarely these days and Mel met her every need and made the afternoon very special.
3. N. M.
Excellent garden centre with an extensive range of products. There is a cafe and food store offering local produce and gifts. The place is clean and has good parking.
J. B.
Nice garden centre and nice food. Shame there is no gluten free savoury options here. Prices for flowers and butchers inside are very expensive.
S. H.
Standard modern garden centre where gardening stuff is a low priority and confined to the outer edges of the premises. If you want Christmas decorations or other random tat then this is the place to go
D. L.
Big shop with a huge range of gardening equipment, plants and seeds. Also has a nice cheese counter that has a large selection of cheeses.
F. A. J.
Lots to buy, from gardening supplies to niche Christmas gifts. Lovely lunch too.
R. B.
Good Christmas lunch but plate could off been warmed up to keep meal warm
C. B. (. m.
Beautiful garden ideas. Indoor displays too. Other items from Pots to Ponds!!!. Help available on all there ranges. Outdoor clothing and kids garden toys too and small animals as well as aquariums of all sizes with all things beautiful for the inside. Or treat yourself to a man-cave ( i mean a garden shed) or a wo-mancave( oops a summerhouse). So from a toddler to a retired teanager, there is something for you here if you enjoy the outdoors or enjoy bringing the outdoors in!!! Want to onow something about your garden or plants. No question is unanswerable. Great staff. A great way to spend a leisurely afternoon.
R. L.
Nice stuff, but quite pricey
W. H.

My grandchildren loved the park
K. S.
The garden centre is nice enough with a good cafe. It's just a shame that it's located in Ponteland, the customers are a bunch of snobs looking down at everyone. The staff are friendly though
I. D.
nice garden centre, a little on the expensice side, we alway have a coffee in here and my only gripe is that the organsisation in the restauarnt is none existant, dirty plate and dishes on the tables every time we go and you en up clearing the table your self in order to get a table and even then they are still dirty
N. R.
Not always a good garden centre, but today plants tip top and I got exactly what I wanted, a great bird feeding section and good selection of gardening equipment
