Reviews of Manor Garden Centre
k. x.
Decided to pop in to have a look today (as went to the store next door.) I hadn't been for a long time as every time I went it just felt so run down and neglected out in the back garden which put me off going here, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they have had a big clean outside and it no longer looks like a giant over grown jungle of weeds everywhere and the plants looked way more cared for. they also decluttered the till area to make it more open which just gave it a more pleasant feel. So have changed my review from a 2 to a 4 based upon todays visit. Also picked up a few beautiful plants while I was there.

I went recently and once I was parked I realised the disabled bays are outside the front entrance but not obvious. The lights have been turned off which is fully understandable considering todays prices, however it lacks any atmosphere, its difficult to get around d as lots of stuff dumped in baakets has a sense of untidiness. Unable to find any staff except at the till (the man was great who served me)
The outside felt messy and overwhelming with a lot of plants unlabelled.
Uninspiring

There was a much wider range of plants and products than my wife and I have seen in other nearby garden centres.
The display of many of the plants had been done with care, showing off contrasts of colours and shapes to good effect.
The plants were in better shape than most of what we've seen lately too.

I went for the aquarium shop on site, but popped in whilst there. But untidy in places. Outdoor plants looked good quality, overall felt pricey .. nice tea room , free parking go see the fish next door whilst there !!
N. D.
Strange location in the middle of an industrial area but loved it and also a great coffee
K. T.
Great little garden centre, good selection of plants garden furniture, tools and the like. Reasonable amount of parking.
B. E.
This place used to be awful but on my recent visit it was much improved. Stock and surroundings had been tidied up and prices were reasonable.
Twigs cafe is great also.
S. A.
We went plant shopping. OMG!! I didn't know where to start, so many plants...we were after evergreen or Hardy, got a few perennials as well. Though if you have a trolley, there are a few hosepipes laying around on the ground, so you have to go a different route, and find a few more bargains. So much so that we've just come back for a few more plants....weather is sunny so why not, just got to get them in the garden now.
M. V.
Awesome garden centre.. has got everything you need in one place..
And I love the the setup.. polar opposite of BQ but somehow looks amazing!
M. C.
Bit of an old school garden centre. Seems to have seen better days and rather sprawls. Bit of a minefield with clapped out trolleys and water hoses left out to inhibit passage. OK if you're in the area.
S. F.
Love this garden centre. Sadly, it was very quiet on a wet Thursday but meant that we didn't feel we needed to wear masks when wandering around. Lots of lovely ornaments and furniture to look at but we went for some plants and they were lovely. All in great condition, still being watered as a lot were under cover and good value for money. I hope it's fortunes improve as lockdown eases as it must have taken its toll on them as with all garden centres
P. B.
My previous negative review is now turned around. Someone has made such a welcome transformation it's almost unrecognisable. Plants well stocked and in good condition. The shop is better laid out and has some good displays. In all it's a local business and is worthy of our support. I'd say better than many chain garden centres.
J. H.
Staff very pleasant much improved since I last visited some nice nick knacks for the garden and a fantastic cafe on site
T.
This is a lovely little independent garden centre. You will always find friendly knowledgeable staff and a unique range of things. When it's available again the cafe does a great fly up
D. P.
It's quite hidden away. Unfortunately it's a bit run down. There is plenty of potential for it to be a great little venue. It's quite central and large enough to hold a massive stock holding. I hope things pick up now that the pandemic is over.
S. W.
Local garden centre. Friendly staff, good knowledge of the plants. Have some very good quality plants and ancillaries.
T. B.
Nice independent garden centre with a good selection of products and plants. Prices good and generally very competitive vs. the big chain garden centres. Has ample parking and also a cafe indoors.
P. M.
Nice garden centre. More a focus on actual garden stuff than some that are just after every penny they can get. It has nice furniture and unusual things too. Friendly staff. Smaller and a quieter than most but that makes it really relaxed and nice. The cafe is lovely and is run in partnership with the nearby community gardens called twigs. We bought our unusual Christmas tree there and also some light up presents which we think are very cool!
R. B.
Love this place , great varxen bargains
F. F.
Nice place for gardening staff. Reasonable price
L. E.
This has the makings of an excellent garden centre and cafe. I understand that it is run by volunteers. If so they need more help. Some of the plants need more attention but there are obviously not enough volunteers. Those there are very pleasant and as helpful as they can be. I will definitely re- visit when next in the area
C. S.
This is the place to go when you want approachable and knowledgeable staff. A good stock of plants and tools. Stay a little longer and enjoy the experience over a drink of your choice and don't tell the GP about your cakes!
N. S. H.
Good variety of plants and garden furniture. Only downside is that it is a bit pricey, but, you do get what you pay for.
I have bought numerous bits and pieces from here that you can get cheaper in the likes of B&Q, but, the stuff you get from here lasts and is by far better quality.
Sometimes, the price is worth paying
G.
It's alright if you want larger shrubs than chain places. Feels a bit tired,. Would benefit from just binning the dead plants and pulling out the weeds, wouldn't take long.
A. E.
Didn't have bedding plants that we wanted. But nice to wonder around looking at all the garden ornaments. Will be even better when coffee shop is open
E. K.
Lovely store, very clean, tidy and organised. Staff friendly, helpful, chatty and happy.
m. j.
Love the place cheap and friendly
D. B.
Surprisingly quiet which was good as it gets quite busy. Good selection of gardening products and plants. Definitely worth a visit.
P. W.
An excellent time to visit (21st March) as all the new seasonal stock had been laid out neatly. A diverse selection of flowers plants shrubs and garden bric a brac. Interior of garden centre has also been rearranged with various furniture and ornaments. Very enjoyable.
A. S.
Have not been for ages!
A garden centre with plants excellent....
General maintenance is what didnt make it a 5 star.
Staff friendly and helpful.
A. J.
The garden centre is much like any other. The cafe is very nice and run by volunteers, with all the profit going to charity. The food is good quality and has good ingredients.
T. E.
I could spend a fortune in here! My favourite garden centre in the area
J. M.
The cafe is deally good. Nice food and very friendly. Outside seats too. Great cake
S. B.
Not a massive garden centre but good selection of plants in spring/summer, fair prices and lovely cafe run by volunteers with good, freshly cooked food at reasonable prices too
p. m.
Plants expensive, but I expect we have to allow for the fact that they have been closed for so long. Cafe, food tasty and staff very friendly.
d.
My favourite Garden Centre. Friendly and very helpful staff. Amazing variety of plants and accessories. It's so nice and calm there I could go for a walk there.
J. W.
Bought a nice trough on stand £125 worth every penny plus some really healthy plants and compost great value
A. E.
Great local garden centre, all gardening stuff you'd ever need at good value prices.
s. s.
Lovely independent garden centre. Good variety of quality plants and gifts/indoor and outdoor wares.
B. D.
Collected wild bird food ready for bird watch at end of month. I was sole customer. Strong choices of purchases.
E. K.
The cafe is great! Worth a try, especially the lemon cake😍🤤
D. B.
Not very many plants on offer and some looked past there best, but then again it is still a bit early. The current weather leads you to forget that it is still winter afterall
G. W.
Some of the pricing signage is often confusing requiring checking at the desk. Prices are generally 20% higher than stores such as home base...b&q...etc. My main reason for shopping there is that the premises houses the Olive tree cafe which is a charity cafe I support.
M. W.
Great Staff, service and best prices, my go to for garden bits. Thanks to Paul for your help and advice.
E. A.
Lively cafe (olive tree) very friendly start, lively atmosphere. Parking, but no indoor plants for sale in the garden centre :(
C. W.
Lovely little garden centre with a cafe inside. Home made cakes and coffee at a good price. We'll worth a visit.
D. H.
The only place in Swindon I could find a certain tree and the price was really good. I was dreading having to order online and risking a damaged tree arriving and no time to order a replacement.
J. R.
Not bad a bit disappointed that the cafe closed on mondays
N. S.
Took grandson to see the fish, of which there were many. Mistake as he made a B Line for the fountains and got soaked.
L. T.
Lovely garden centre wide range of plants well laid out. Will definitely be back
G. H.
Great place for coffee or lunch. Homemade cakes yummy. Out door seating to enjoy the sunshine and also reasonable prices. Give it a try.
B. E.
My 1st outing since like forever. Sunday at 4 busy at checkout but lovely centre and helpful staff.
M. B. (.
Great family run garden centre, very helpful knowledgeable staff and friendly too. Not over priced like to many chain garden centres.
m. g.
Well laid out small garden centre. Lovely browsing at quiet times. Lovely selection of plants available.
A. S.
Some amazing different stuff here. Quite an Aladdin's cave but you need to wander right round and look.
C. V.
Lovely if you don't mind waiting as it can be a bit slow at times but the staff and volunteers are really helpful and the food is sooooo good 🤗
S. J.
Went to look at sheds and summerhouses but enjoyed the rest of the garden centre. Cafe good and starting to plan what I'm going to do this year in the garden.
J. C.
